Prologue:
In a time where the cloning of Pokemon was highly illegal, cloned Pokemon began to pop up everywhere. Curious, the authorites launched an investigation in an attempt to find the people responsible for the illegal activities. Unfortunately, they failed to find any trace of the source of the cloned Pokemon.

Pretty soon, trainers had started to catch cloned Pokemon. This act in itself deprived the clones of their brief freedom and the clones responded by ignoring commands and physically attacked the trainers. Eventually, two young Pokemon trainers - one called Josephine, who was nearly twelve and the other called Paul, who was eleven - came across and obtained clones of their own.

Josephine obtained her Pokemon from Professor Gary Oak. Josephine knows her Eevee is special as he has greenish-yellow fur. Josephine doesn't believe that there are any other Pokemon out there that have her Eevee's uniqueness... but she later discovers that there are other Pokemon out there that share the same uniqueness as her Eevee. Two years before, when she was ten, she and her mother, Misty, had to say goodbye to her father, Ash, who, after being told by the Kanto Defence Force that Johto had declared themselves an enemy, went off to assist in the Kanto-Johto war. Misty prayed day after day that Ash would return, but Josephine has a feeling that her father would never come back.

Professor Gary Oak's son, Paul, has a Vulpix called Maggie. Paul and Maggie have a very strong bond of friendship, as Maggie found Paul when she was only one week old. Maggie is very different from others of her own kind, because she was 'born' with magenta fur and her right eye is completely blind. Because of the colour of her fur, she has been labelled a 'freak' by other Vulpix. Paul, however, doesn't care about her fur colour or disability... he cares for Maggie because, to him, she is the most beautiful Pokemon he has ever seen.

Thus, Pokemon: Generation of the Clones begins.

Ooh, looks interesting. And a war, eh? REALLY interesting!

;025; - Especially since it has clones in it. AND MEWTWO I BET!

Probably. You should've made the prologue longer and added more description, but it's still good. I'm going to keep my eye on this to see how it goes.

;025; - And for Mewtwo.

*whacks* Josephine's Ash's and Misty's kid, huh? SWEET! (Pokeshipping here! BUM BUM BUM!) And Maggie's blind in one eye... Aw. Sad. She's been considered a freak... *huggles* Who cares if she's a clone!

;025; - Mewtwo's turned evil again I bet.

*whacks* Shut up Cheeky! Well, anyway, hope to see more! WHOO! LONG LIVE CLONES! (OMG! GARY'S THE PROFESSOR! *singing* Ding dong, Professor Oak's dead. Sing it high, sing it low. Afterall, Oaky's dead!)

No, Kutie Pie. Mewtwo is not in this story.

Aww... Oh well. At least it'll be interesting.

;025; - DR. FUJI'S RETURNED FROM THE DEAD!

-_-; I think he's on to something...

;025; - I'm partially psychic I think.

;151; - *appears* You offend me Cheeky!

Well, since you're back Myra, guess you'll get offended by cloning.

;151; - 0o;; Uh... I have some...plans I have to do... *telelports*

Liar. Anyway, I'll be here anyway! Mewtwo or no Mewtwo!

It was really short. Even for an Introduction. It was more like a summary to me, but I still like the idea.

As for the usual description, plot, and characters, I really can't say for it is too early to judge.

I hope I can give you a proper review after I read Chapter one.

Now you see me...
Umm.. XD It's a bit short. Personally, I think a Prologue should be around a good page long and should have relevant information to the story - this is just 'as you know' types of info that would do better being revealed in the first chapter. 0_o This just seems more like a character guide.

As for plot, characters, etc. I'll agree with Lightkeeper, I can't really judge yet.

Nifty little work. A bit short, but it sets the scene for the story nicely. Works for me.

Here's the first Chapter. Happy reading everyone! Don't forget to post your c & c...

Chapter 1: Preparing for the Adventure

Note: Throughout the story, readers will see Pokemon talking in a way that is similar to humans. Be aware that the Pokemon are still using derivatives of their own names. I made it similar to humans because it would be easier for people to understand what the Pokemon are saying, if they were talking English.
---------
“Josephine! If you don't get out of bed right now and come downstairs, then Eevee will have to go up there and wake you up!!” shouted a forty-one year old woman. She had reddish-orange hair with blue eyes. This was Misty Waterflower-Ketchum, mother of a future Pokemon Master. She was a very kind and caring person, but she didn't want her only child to miss out on one of the most important days of her life. “Oh well. Eevee, if you don't mind, could you please wake her up so that she's not late for her big adventure?” Misty asked the green and yellow coloured Pokemon standing next to her.

“No problem. In fact, I would have done it myself even if you hadn't asked,” replied Eevee, who had a hardened expression on his face that matched his personality. He swiftly sprang up the wooden staircase, bounded down the long hallway and hurled his small body against a door at the end of the hall. He glanced up at his trainer and grumbled to himself, because even after making all that racket to come to his trainer's room, she still hasn't woken up.

“Forgive me for this, Ho-oh, but I've got a lazy trainer who won't even get off her behind. Bloody hell, Josephine, wake up!” Seeing that he got no reaction, Eevee's eyes narrowed and an evil sort of smirk appeared on his face, as he said, “Bugger you, kid, I'll wake you up myself.” After saying that, the Pokemon bared his teeth, jumped onto the girl's bed and tore off the covers with his paws. He then bit his trainer, hard. A split-second later, the young trainer sat straight up and attempted to stop the flow of blood, while shrieking loudly. Eventually she stopped the blood flow and then glared at Eevee who had woken her up.

“Why did you do that??!!” asked the red-haired girl, whose arm now matched her hair. She was an eleven year old (turning twelve) with green eyes, which most of the time were quite warm, but right now, gave a savage look. “You ought to control your temper, Josephine! Who'd have thought you'd get so angry about a little bite?” Eevee said as he burst out laughing. “Yeah, ha, you're so funny,” Josephine replied sarcastically. “Too bad you couldn't do that with Sandshrew – otherwise I'd have caught that Sandshrew and we would have left Pallet Town yesterday.”

“Hey, who was the one who scared the Sandshrew off in the first place?” replied Eevee, who was now right in front of Josephine's face. “Yeah, but, who was the one that decided to try out his Bite attack, bite me on the bottom and made me scare the Sandshrew in the first place?” Josephine said coolly, moving Eevee off her and jumping out of bed. “Oh yeah, well, who was the one who trained me to learn Bite, hmm?” Eevee questioned.

Josephine sighed. “Of the three available, why did I pick you? I could have chosen Ponyta or even Vulpix – but no, I had to get Eevee.” She closed her eyes, wondering what it would have been like if she had gotten another Pokemon. “Don't say that. You knew you had to choose one of us, because that is what every trainer starting out has to do. Besides, I've got seven different evolutions – I'm sure you would have picked me if you could've got any Pokemon in the entire world!!” Eevee said happily.

“Yeah, right. If I could have gotten any Pokemon, it would have been a Dragonite.” Josephine said, thinking out loud. “Don't be stupid, you couldn't control a Dragonite right now – you're too inexperienced and besides, Dragonite are so powerful, there are rumours saying that it is almost a legendary. Anyway, we have to get downstairs and get ready for your journey.” Eevee informed a now calmed down Josephine. “You make it sound like Pokemon Training Academy. But I know that this journey is going to be a lot better. Okay, let's go.” Josephine said, smiling at her Pokemon partner.

After showering herself, Josephine went downstairs to find her mother talking to Professor Gary Oak, one of the leading researchers on Pokemon. Misty noticed that Josephine was ready now, since she had her father's official Indigo League cap on, which was white with the League's symbol on it. She was also wearing a red shirt, a blue vest, a pair of dark-blue denim trousers and white laced shoes with black on the side of them. “Well Josephine, I see that you are finally ready. Professor Gary Oak says that he has something to give you at his lab.” Misty told her, relieved that her daughter was finally ready.

Josephine stood there with a puzzled look on her face, wondering what her father's rival, turned researcher, needed to give her. “Josephine, are you going to come with me?” Gary chuckled, looking at Josephine's clueless face. “I'm coming,” Josephine said hastily. As she was about to run to the lab, she remembered that this would be the last time she would see her mother before she left. She turned around and looked at her. “Mum, this is goodbye for now. I'll miss you.”

Her mother stared at her while she said, “Yes, I'll miss you too. You have grown up incredibly fast Josephine, and I can't stop you from doing what you want to do. I just hope that Ash returns one day, from that horrible war, so I can tell him that you and Eevee have left on your journey.” Josephine grimaced; she didn't like being reminded that her father had left two years ago to help out in the Kanto-Johto war. “Alright, I'll see you later Mum.”

“Goodbye Josephine, and know that whatever happens, I'll always think of you as a Pokemon Master, because you went and attempted to accomplish your dream.” Misty said as she smiled at her daughter. Josephine nodded and went off with Gary Oak. After a few minutes, Josephine's curiosity got the best of her. “Professor, what is it that you want to give me?” “You will see Josephine; it is an invention of my grandfather's that I want you to try out,” the professor said. “Ah, here we are,” he said as they arrived at the lab.

The lab was on top of a hill, with a lake to the east, a forest to the south, a rocky area to the north and an open range to the west. There were Pokemon scattered all over the area. “Right this way, Josephine.” Professor Gary Oak said as he led Josephine to where she had received Eevee yesterday. “Professor, there you are! We have everyone here sir,” one of Gary's aides appeared when they entered the large room where Josephine had met Eevee.

“Very good John. Is he here as well?” John nodded. “Good. Now, Josephine, I have something very important to give you, it is...” “Hey Josephine, why did my father bring you here?” yelled another eleven year old trainer, who was sitting on a chair and his legs were resting on the table. He had brown hair and his eyes were the same. He wore a blue short-sleeved t-shirt and brown pants. He also wore a talisman, which was oval shaped, around his neck.

“Why do you even bother talking to me, Paul?! You know that I am much better than you'll ever hope to be!” Josephine shouted. “At least I got my Pokemon before you!” “Yeah, whatever. Anyway, father, what did you want to show me that is so important?” Paul asked, getting back to the matter at hand. Gary shook his head before saying “Now that you two have stopped arguing, I have an invention that will change the Pokemon world forever.” He walked over to a covered table and pulled the sheet off, revealing two red rectangular devices. “I call them the Pokedex V2!” he said, smiling.

Josephine and Paul stared at the devices with different expressions. Josephine was a bit confused, while Paul knew immediately what they were. “Are they the devices you mentioned yesterday that record Pokemon that you have seen or captured?” Paul asked. “Exactly. These devices record Pokemon you see within sixteen metres of you, whether they belong to you or not. I call them Pokedex V2, because I've modified them to record differences in the colouring of Pokemon.” Gary answered.

“What is the point of recording them?” Josephine asked, now understanding what they were. “I mean, we know enough about them already, don't we?” “We don't really know anything specific about them, Josephine. They are, in some ways, still a complete mystery to us. We know their names, but we don't know everything, like how they feel about humans, whether a certain Pokemon is social or just wants to be left alone... we don't even know how many really exist.

That is where you and Paul come in. You two must travel your own paths while finding more information about Pokemon. You two are the ones who will pave the way into a new generation of Pokemon. That is the path you must take on the way to shaping the Pokemon world and your destinies.” Gary said proudly while putting his hands on their shoulders.

Both trainers smiled at the professor. “We will Professor; you can count on us!” Josephine said. Then, she turned around, about to leave when Paul yelled out... “Hey Josephine, before we go our separate ways, let's battle.” “Is that a challenge?” Josephine grinned, while enlarging the Pokeball containing her Eevee. “You better believe it.” Paul said, also enlarging one of his Pokeballs. “Let's take it outside.” The trainers ran outside, followed by a smiling Professor Gary Oak, who knew this was truly a way to start on their journeys. When they finally got outside, both of them yelled, “Pokeball, go!” to begin their battle.

"It is my destiny."
Again, not too bad. Of course, you need to start new paragraphs with each new person.

;025; - Huzzah! Pokemon talk in here! Just what everyone needs!

-_- He's sort of right. Anyway, just add just a tiny bit more description and start new paragraphs with the dialogue and you'll be fine. (Of course you are anyway.)

;025; - I still think Dr. Fuji's returned from the dead to have clones everywhere.

I still think you have to be nice Cheeky. Well, anyway, thanks for PM'ing me! I'll be here for the next chapter!
