• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

I don't know but I never really cared to get the go plus >.> I mean if I change my mind I might but for now I will not get it. Also, I thought I heard the thing drains your battery like crazy? is this true?

Gamestop is Sold Out online :(

And the only store within 50 miles of me had one that was reserved for somebody else. I'll probably order one when Gamestop gets some more, but otherwise, I'm fine without it.

After a couple days of playing with the GO Plus, it has its pros and cons. It's great at collecting items from pokestops and it keeps the game tracking distance for eggs and buddies when your app isn't active. For those reasons alone, it's a great tool.

But it's TERRIBLE at catching pokemon, especially if you're driving/riding in a car. In a 30 minute car ride yesterday, I encountered more than 20 pokemon and only caught 2. While walking through the park and downtown area, it had about a 50% catch rate. Most of the available pokemon were Drowzee and Pidgey, so that wasn't exactly a terrible thing, but I spent my time playing with the app open in case something rare showed up. I wasn't willing to risk the Plus letting it escape. Good thing, because I found a Dratini and a Dragonair yesterday. Luckily, or possibly unluckily if you'd rather not know, you can see which pokemon have run away in your journal.

Overall, I'm not regretting my purchase. It makes it so I can still collect items and track distance while I'm not able to look at my phone. It does give me access to more pokemon that I normally would get access to, but the catching accuracy makes that perk hardly worth it. Good luck to those who weren't able to get one. Hopefully they restock soon. I have a couple friends who weren't able to get one, and I don't want them to feel like they are being left out of the experience I and one of my other friends are getting.

I'm not sure it will be "cool" to walk with this bracelet on! but for sure, it's worth the investment if your life is pokemon GO! The pokemon go plus is really helpful.

Question for someone who has one. If you stay in the area with a pokestop long enough for it to refresh, does the go plus react?

Yes it does go off again. Its not immediate but id say around 15 seconds or so later. ill try and pay more attention to it next time.

Yes, It will flash blue again every 5-6 minutes. I can collect items all day while I'm at my office because there is a stop across the street.

Anyone have trouble with there go plus randomly disconnecting?

mine usually disconnects after about an hour if I don't have the game open on my phone. If it's more often than that, you may need to change your battery. I've had to change mine already since getting it.

Really and truly
I got a Go Plus a few weeks ago when I learned from a local PoGo Facebook group that a nearby Toys R Us finally had a few in stock. I literally drove over that night to buy one! It wasn't cheap (yay Canadian exchange rates), but I like it for the collectible aspect and have actually found it very useful.

Now that I have a full-time job and it's full-on winter, I haven't been going out and playing GO as much. I was playing with my partner, and we usually stayed at around the same level, but I've been falling behind! The Plus has been awesome during my drive to/from work. Since I'm in the car alone, I only use it when it's safe, but I usually sit in unmoving traffic on the drive home. I can also use it at my desk at work, but few 'mon of interest spawn there.

I obviously can't use it to 100% keep up with a player who's just playing the game, but it's a nice way to keep playing. Unfortunately, I am constantly low on Pokeballs, and wish it would let you use Great and Ultra Balls. Still, it's a neat gadget, a fun way to show off my fandom, and a nice collectible, imo.

How is the battery drain on the phone when using this? I fear that using both the app, which drains a lot of power, and the bluetooth drain of the plus, that my phone will die very quickly. Users of the Plus, what has your phone battery experience been?

if you're running the app and the Plus at the same time, it will definitely drain your battery quickly because the game drains your battery quickly. If you have the plus connected but don't have the game open on your screen, the battery drain is pretty minimal. I typically have my plus and bluetooth headset connected at the same time and my battery doesn't suffer. I usually need to charge in the afternoon if I have both connected all morning.
