Pokemon Haters in Real Life

2 girls in the back: *sings pokemon theme song*
2 girls: *stops*
2 girls: what was those lyrics again? Ey! You!
me: *is on serebii and ignoring them*
2 girls: starts looking after pokemon theme in norwegian on google.
me:... go to youtube -_- search for theme norwegian.
they did, and now they can the song xD

Hmmm... I'm more of a closet fan myself, but I've seen this guy and girl at my school for reading manga, watching anime, playing cards, and playing games.

Whenever I see someone playing their DS at my school (not allowed so it's usually under the tables... >_> I walk up to them and say

Me: What cha playing?
Person: Pokemon. Why?
Me: I dun know...
Person: Do you play?
Me: No, I just HERD YA LIEK MUDKIPZ!

I then go and explain Natures, IV's, EV's, damage calculations, and complicated strategies.

Their reaction is usually 'WTF'

To which I say 'If you can't understand it, how do you expect a child to?'

They have no response to that. =D

Hehe, yeah I understand what you mean.
I am not really open with me being a pokemon fan on school, but they know I have the games. Most people don't flame me for playing pokemon, infact I loan them my pokemon games.

It's no suprise Pokemon is hated. I acculy hated it before i got my hands on it. Went around saying how uh i forgot what i said XD. But it's not the best game ever that's true.

I got laughed at for playing Pokemon in my last three years of school by one particular group. The rest of the year level thought I was strange for it, both otherwise left me alone. The group that made fun of me for it were immature idiots who made it their business to annoy me at every opportunity they got.

In university, people just don't care. I have, however, found a Pokemon buddy of sorts. It's cool.

Everyone knows it's just me, so nobody really says anything. I draw Eevee characters for my comics and people actually think they're cute. The only time I've had a problem was last year.

I'm a true unique pokemon fan and I play it mostly other than my favorite games.

The only thing I've heard someone that's criticizing pokemon was really bad. It only happened 7-8 years ago while I was at Kroger's reading a pokemon's magazine addictively.

In college, nobody could give less of a crap if you play Pokemon. In fact, once at a meeting for a club I'm in, this interaction took place:

Me: *plays LG and owns souls with Blastoise* Ignore my nerdiness, guys.

Dude: Hey now! That's not nerdy! Pokemon games are awesome.

Other people: Yeah! Hey! Totally remember those games from back in the day. *mutterings of happy memories*

Dude 2: Haha, I could totally own your Blastoise with Zapdos.

Dude: You wish, man.

It's so fun being friends with people who are mature enough to know that liking something doesn't make you a loser.

Truthfully that never happen. I live in the ghetto, and a lot of people play Pokemon. At school, there was this one time where me and a buncha people start talking about the past when we were all crazy about Pokemon. It was good time.

To be honest, I'm sure most of these haters are just upset that they don't have the same kind of pass-times, I mean if they started selling more hard-core games on portable consoles, they might be a little more pre-occupied instead of preying on people being entertained to bring them down, gaining a faint sense of superiority over the victim...

Generally, people at my school could care less about what you play. Heck, even one of the teachers in my school's SpEd room has a daughter who plays it. She even asked me to help her daughter out! And my neurologist has daughters who play Pokemon and he asked me for help on the games too! I even had Pokemon folders in my senior year at HS and never got made fun of. I've been on the Internet looking at Pokemon websites and never got teased. I even have a college friend who likes Pokemon, too. And to further prove my point, I wore Pokemon T-shirts to my church's catechism classes in
'01 and '02 and wasn't teased. I even drew Pokemon and related stuff, like items and badges and the like in school and catechism and not once did I get teased. I also played RRT before the bus that took me home in my senior year of HS and never got teased. I guess the community that I live in doesn't really mind that a 19-year old girl plays Pokemon.
