There will also be new teachers later on. Any questions? proabably... but here it goes.

It was time to start another year at school. This time, high school. Ash Ketchum, May Sapphire, Brock Harrison, Tracey Sketchit, Misty Waterflower, Max Sapphire and other trainers have joined the ranks of high school. They’ll meet some zany personalities, befriend lovely pokemon and learn numerous amounts of lessons that can only be staged in high school.

Ash Ketchum- Determined to always be number one. Whether it’s in science, gym or pokemon battles, he wants to win!

May Sapphire- Fresh out of middle school popularity, this girl will have to compete for her social status with all different ages. How far will she go?

Brock Harrison- No luck with the ladies in middle school. Will this hearty eyed young man find his better half?

Tracey Sketchit- In high school you need to find your niche, and Tracey finds his right away, by joining the “Artsy” group, but who will he choose, his new found friends or his old ones?

Misty Waterflower- Uh-oh, her sisters go to this school. Being a freshman how will she coop with her sisters revealing her secrets?

Max Sapphire- Too smart for elementary and middle school, he gets moved straight up to high school with his sister. One problem, all high schoolers have pokemon and Max doesn’t! What will he do?

Chapter 1
Welcome to Pokemon High

The doorbell rang, sounding like a singing swablu. Both May and Max looked over to the door, which their mother, Caroline was answering.

Caroline opened the white door to reveal two adolescent men standing in the crisp autumn wind. “Ash, Brock, come in out of the cold,” Caroline said she fanned her white hands towards herself.

Ash didn’t hesitate to enter at all. He practically knocked down May’s mother barging through the door. He was wearing light wash jeans that were rolled up at the bottom, revealing his black and yellow striped shoes. His upper body was covered by a black t-shirt, which was under a hooded vest with a white half of a pokeball on it. He also had a green pokeball design in the middle of the black portion of his red baseball cap. He through down his red backpack and darted into the kitchen, where he began to eat some toast.

Brock took a much more slower approach into the house. He sported a brown jacket with and orange trim that covered his green shirt. Like his shirt, he wore green khakis that were sagging a little bit, showing off the top of his red plaid boxers. He fixed his gelled brown hair and then continued to strut into the kitchen, one hand on his book bag strap and the other holding up his pants by the crotch.

May flung her chestnut brown hair up into her signature hair style. Having to pigtails dangling in the front. The pigtails curved up a little bit at the end and complimented her sapphire blue eyes. She then placed a red bandanna over her hair, which had a white pokeball design on it. The red matched her top, which was mostly red but had a little bit of navy blue around the collar. This blue went well with her tight biker shorts that she was wearing, they had a white trim at the end of them that made her skin look a little bit more tan than it was. “I thought Max and I would be the ones picking up you,” May said after swallowing her last piece of toast.

“Ya, it’s not like you to be so early Ash,” Max said while fixing his large glasses. His hair was combed and gelled flat to the left. He fixed the white collar of his green shirt and then unruffled his brown shorts.

“It’s the first day of high school!” Ash said excitedly. “New people, better challenges, nicer equipment…”

“Cuter girls,” Brock interrupted Ash’s rant.

“And more pokemon,” Ash finished.

“Speaking of which, where is Pikachu?” Max asked, getting up from the wooden table and taking his dishes with him. He placed them gently in the sink and then looked back at Ash and awaited a reply.

“Pikachu is at home with my mom,” Ash sighed.

“Really? Why?” May asked also doing the same as Max just did.

“Pokemon need to stay in their pokeballs until allowed out,” He uttered angrily.

“In middle school they let you,” May argued Ash’s point.

“New school, new rules. After all, they just got a new principle who does things completely differently.” Ash said. “But I have my other pokemon and my mom will take good care of Pikachu.”

“How is Delilah?” Caroline asked, entering the room. Like her daughter, she sported brown pigtails, except hers were tied in the back. She wore a Sunday dress that was yellow at the top and creamy red at the bottom.

“She’s fine,” Ash replied. “Mr. Mime and her just do everything together now. The garden looks great, house looks great, food tastes…almost normal and she’s just been so energetic. Taking care of Pikachu should be a cinch for her.”

“Well mom,” May said giving her mother a look.

“Oh yes, don’t have conversations with May’s friends,” She whispered quietly to herself. “Well, I guess I’ll see you guys after school,” She spoke loudly, while holding up a yellow hip bag and a red backpack.

“Thanks mom,” May said as she took the yellow hip bag and clicked around her hip.

“Thank-you mom,” Max also said, taking the red bag and putting it on.

Brock strutted back over to the door and Ash ran and picked up his book bag. They all walked out and started on their way to school.
*
They arrived at the marvelous building that they’d be spending four years of their lives in. It had stairs leading up to the double door main entrance and trees going along the side. They could see a picnic area with stone tables and a lovely fountain that elegantly flowed. But what caught Ash’s attention was the three battle fields that he could just barely see off in the distance. One appeared to be like a soccer field, another looked as if it were water and the last looked like a regular clay arena. Each of the battle fields had spectator’s benches but nevertheless, all were empty.

The group soon saw a red haired girl by the fountain. Her hair was tied back into a spiky pony tail and held up by two blue pearls. She had own a yellow outfit, the top had three blue buttons and a blue color, while the bottom was short-shorts and had no sign of blue. The top and bottom part of her outfit was very tight, making her seem more curvier than she actually was. “Hey!” She shouted and stood up from beside the fountain, fixed her aqua book bag and walked over to the group of friends.

“Misty!” The group said in unison as they met.

“You guys!” Another voice interrupted the introductions. It came from a guy who was carrying a sketch book and had a pencil in his left ear. He had shaggy brown hair that was kept away from his forehead by a creamy orange headband. It matched his shorts, which went well with his green shirt.

“Tracey!” Brock called out pointing his fingers at the boy running to them.

“Well,” Ash said. “Let’s not keep high school waiting!”

The group of six walked up the stairs and into the grand entrance together but soon were separated…
*
There were 5 grade 9 classes and by luck, no one was in Ash’s home room. They still however had course selection to try and have a go at it. All this ran through Ash’s mind until he was bit! “OUCH!” He screamed as he jumped out of his seat.

“I’m glad we snapped you back into reality,” The old man at the front growled in a raspy voice. “Good job Shelgon,” He praised the pokemon who bit Ash. It was pretty much a big white shell with four legs, which it stood on and a small black portion in the centre of it where its eyes and apparently teeth were. “As I was saying,” the man in the sailor’s outfit continued, his grey moustache moving up and down as he did so. “I am Drake of the elite teachers. This school is under new management, which not even I know much about,” he stated still sounding like he needed to clear his throat. “Your first class will always be homeroom. Unfortunately my talents are being wasted away on Freshman.” He wheezed followed by a gasp of horror from the students. “Oh get used to it, freshman are the bottom of the food chain and no one in this school is going to treat you with respect until you have earned it! So go find an older guy to date or go win a fist fight, cause you aint getting any respect till ya do.”

Ash’s classroom was quite small, with a chalkboard at the front where Drake was and two rows of student filled desks, each row with ten in it. Ash sat right up at the front beside a girl who was going ballistic over what Drake had just said. She had bubblegum pink hair that was tied into two small pigtails. Her eyes were very intriguing because underneath the layer of tears, they were pink as well. She had a nice white outfit on, with magenta trims. Her shirt, had the magenta on the end of her sleeves and down the middle, while her shorts had it just on the upper rim. “Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh!” She shrilled, while hyperventilating.

“Are you ok?” Ash asked his seat neighbor.

“I’m, I’m, I’m fine,” She forcedly said, through sobs. “I, I, I just didn’t think, think that high school would, would actually be like, like, like, like THISSS,” She sobbed loudly, catching the attention of the rest of the class.

“It’s alright,” Ash tried to comfort her, placing his hand on her back and patting it, while shifting his eyes, not knowing what to say or do.

The tears began to dry up as she smiled. “Thanks,” She said, now more cheerfully. “My name is Whitney,” she told Ash, extending out her hand.

“I’m Ash,” He replied, connecting his hand with hers in a handshake.
*
“How was homeroom?” May asked walking next to Ash down a hallway.

“It was ok, some girl named Whitney was crying,” Ash replied.

“Would all Grade 9’s please report to the cafeteria after break,” The speakers boomed, with a girlish voice behind them.

“Well anyways,” Ash continued. “Who is your homeroom?”

“Karen,” May said happily. “She is really pretty but also strangely mysterious.”

“My homeroom teacher, Drake, is far from mysterious, he had his shelgon bite me cause I wasn’t paying attention!” Ash shouted, rubbing his thigh where he had been bit. “I wonder where everyone else is,” Ash pondered. “I really want to know how they made it in homeroom.” He announced his he began to run down the hall.

“Ya, me too, cause you know walking down the hall just with you…is great,” May whispered to herself.
*
“Welcome to Pokemon High,” A lady said at the front of the room. She was very pretty but yet looked sophisticated. Her carrot orange hair was neatly tied back into a pony tail, which pushed her hair out of her face to show off her glasses and beautiful lips. She wore only a sleeveless black tank top and a purple mini skirt. Both were very tight and made her look extremely curvy. She even had some of the male grade 9’s whistling and yowling at her. “Some of you might know me from homeroom but for those who don’t, my name is Prima. This session here is where you will carefully pick out the courses you will be taking for the rest of the year. Math and English are mandatory, the rest, you can decide. Choose wisely though cause one wrong class could ruin you and Freshman don’t get the option of course changing.” Pencils began to scratch frantically at the paper in front of the freshman, as they chose their courses. “Also, I’d like to say that a couple of new professors will be joining us this year, Koga and three lovely professors. Professor Oak, Birch and Elm. Good luck to them and good luck to all of you.”
*
“Well that was a fun first day of nothing,” Ash said with his arms folded behind his head as the group of friends walked down the street.

“For you maybe,” Max argued. “I need a pokemon or else I’ll have to go back to elementary.”

May stopped dead in her tracks and took a pokeball out of her backpack. She threw it high into the air and with a flash of white light, a small pokemon formed. It was mostly a real dark shade of blue but it had some yellow on its muzzle and feet. The pokemon was cutely chubby and had two cute ears on its head. “Munchlax!” It called out.

“Max, you can borrow munchlax until you find a pokemon of your own,” May said to her little brother.

“Really!” Max giggled excitedly as he ran over and hugged Munchlax who was roughly the same height as he was. “Thanks May!”

“Well what if you are doing double battles?” Misty asked. “Here, my psyduck should help you,” she said also taking out a pokeball and releasing the being inside.

A small yellow duck came out. It had a long beak and long webbed feet. His wing-like hands were clutched around its round head as it sighed confused, “Psy?”

“You’ll be staying with Max for a little, ok Psyduck?” Misty asked her pokemon, kneeling down to its level.

“You too munchlax,” May said to her pokemon as she placed its pokeball in Max’s hand.

“Munch?” it asked, holding out his hand for food.

“Here munchlax,” Max said, pulling out a pokeblock case and dispensing a pink block into the chubby pokemon’s mouth. The pokemon expanded, and sighed satisfactorily. “Psyduck and Munchlax, welcome to your new home,” Max announced as he gave his borrowed pokemon a big group hug.

Pretty cool idea for a fic. Obviously with anime characters just different plot and setting which is cool. Always wondered what High School would be like for them. Nice of Misty and May let Max borrow a pokemon.

revealing his black and yellow striped shows.

I think you mean black and yellow striped shoes? This is the only thing that really stuck out. Your spelling is good and grammer good but nothing really stuck out. Ill see ya next chapter!

Wow, I really like this. Max getting moved up, May crushing on Ash, Ash being stupid, Brock wasn't really mentioned all that much except for trying to act all gangsta! XD. I really like it and the only thing that you should work on is character develpmont, if you're going to have that many protagonists, than give them all personalities, Tracey needs major develpmont.

Other than that GREAT JOB! I'll be reading the next chapter for sure

Chapter 2

Ok this is the same day as last chapter, except after school. Remember, they all live in the same city!

Chapter 2
Meet the Waterflowers

“Well it’s about time you got here,” Misty said as three girls walked into her house.

“What are you talking about?” The blonde girl said. She had a button up light pink sweater on that covered the black shirt underneath. She flung off her flower back pack and wiped off her light blue peddle pushers.

“Ya, what do you mean it’s about time?” The second girl to enter the house asked. Her hair was a nice shade of pink that matched her mini-skirt and complimented her green short sleeve.

“Misty you are such a weirdo,” The final girl chuckled as she threw down her knapsack and walked into the house. Her hair was a deep blue with a bouncy volume. She had an orange overcoat on that went over her frilly white tank top. She wore full-length dark wash jeans and white heels that clicked on the hardwood floor.

“School was finished like an hour ago,” Misty said to her sisters.

“Should I take this one Daisy?” The blue haired girl asked the blonde.

“Go ahead Violet,” Daisy, the blonde replied.

“Well, Misty, you see when you are popular like us, you don’t go straight home after school, it’s just not cool,” Violet said, flipping her bouncy hair back behind her shoulders.

“What courses did you decide on?” The pink haired girl asked Misty.

“Lily!” Daisy shouted as she whacked her sister.

“What?” Lily asked.

“We don’t ask losers those types of questions,” Violet said.

“Oh, well I was just wondering to see if she’d have a chance at being cool,” Lily defended herself.

“In that case,” Daisy said. “What courses did you take?”

“Well,” Misty replied. “Everyone takes Math and English so those two. Then I chose pokemon battles, pokemon grooming and science. Just like everyone else chose, except for Max and May chose pokemon appeals instead of science.”

“Well I guess May is the coolest,” Daisy chuckled.

“Ya, pokemon appeals is the best class ever!” Lily agreed.

“Well what did Max choose?” Violet asked.

“He chose Math, English, science, history and pokemon battles,” Misty recalled.

“Only one pokemon course?” Daisy evilly asked.

“Talk about loser!” Violet chuckled.

“May has the right idea, choose as much pokemon courses as possible,” Lily told her younger sister.

“Do you know what I heard?” Violet whispered.

“No,” the other sisters said at once.

“Why are you whispering?” Misty asked.

“Oh well it needs to stay on the down low,” Violet leant in closer and uttered. “Halfway through the school year we have to change courses.”

“Oh my gosh!” Daisy shouted.

“Does that mean freshman might mix in with sophomores?” Lily sadly asked.

“You got that right,” Violet said. “Good thing we’re juniors.”

With that said, Lily began to cry. “Good thing you’re juniors, remember I failed! I’m still a sophomore!” Lily whined.

“Maybe you’ll get lucky and get into one of May’s classes,” Daisy tried to comfort her sister.

“And besides, you don’t have to worry about this till next semester,” Violet also comforted Lily.

“Well you guys I better go and do some preparing for tomorrow,” Misty said to her sisters who were ignoring her completely as she walked out the door. Misty walked down the brown side walk, taking to steps for each square. She had her nice red shoulder bag that was small enough to practically be a purse. Inside she had six pokeballs all of which her water pokemon were in. She continued at her slow pace until she came across May’s and Max’s house. It was a beige color and very bland, overall nothing stood out other than the windows. It was still before dinner time, so she decided to go call for May. Misty made her way up the walk way and to the door, only to be startled by it quickly opening.

“I need this job Caroline!” The man that pushed through the door called out. He had a maroon zipper-up sweater on that wasn’t completely zippered, showing the upper part of his chest. He also had boring faded jeans on and a dull flat teal hair cut. “Hello!” He gasped as he almost ran over Misty. “May’s inside,” He said pushing Misty out of his way.

Misty unsurely walked in and saw that May was straight ahead in the sitting area. She was stroking her napping skitty as she rocked back and forth in an old birch rocking chair. She hummed quietly as her pink cat purred softly. Its tail was wrapped around its small body and tickling its own ears.

“May?” Misty asked walking in further.

“Yes!” A startled May gasped as she turned around in her chair, waking Skitty. “Oh, Misty,” The chestnut haired beauty said as Skitty jumped off of her lap.

“I was wondering if you’d like to do something before supper?” Misty asked her friend.

“Sure let me just get my pokemon,” May quickly stood up and grabbed her purse, shoving five pokeballs in it as she did so. She grabbed an open pokeball and then closed it. She pressed a button and a red beam generated from it and sucked Skitty into it. “Well let’s go,” She said, placing the last pokeball into her black purse.

The two girls walked out of the house, closing the door behind them and continued in the direction of the school. Cars passed them, ruffling their hair and blowing leaves towards them. Some pink flower petals fell at them off of the cherry blossom trees as they continued their walk.

“Well I was wondering if you’d like to take a gander at the arenas up on the school grounds?” Misty asked May.

“Sure,” May shrugged.

“Then we can have a little girl chat,”

“Well I guess,” May weirdly said as they walked passed their gigantic school and onwards to where the three arenas were.

They arrived at three sets of stairs, one leading to each of the arenas. Misty of course goes up the stairs that lead to the pool arena. May follows her not knowing what her friend wanted to talk about but nevertheless, followed anyway. They reached the top and saw the sparkling water, which glistened in the falling sun. There were floating platforms all about and two boxes at either end where the trainers would stand. Misty sighed contently as she kneeled down and placed her hand in the cool water.

“So what did you want to talk about?” May asked her red headed pal.

Misty took a hard gulp and forcedly said, “How can I be cool?”

May smiled happily as she ran over and hugged Misty. “I’ve waited for the day you’d ask me this!” She shrilled excitedly. “Well first we should start with a total makeover, no wait let’s start with your attitude no wait…”

“May, calm down. I just want to be made popular or ‘cool’ before school tomorrow.” Misty giggled.

“Hold on,” May said as she held up her index finger to Misty. She pulled out a red and black flip cell phone and flipped it upon, dialing numbers quickly. “Hello, mom, I won’t be home for supper, bye!” She clicked the end button and began dialing again. “Hey Daisy, this is May. We have a total case 107 on our hands. I’ll need you to prepare a chair for my friend, we’ll be there in half-an-hour, hugs!” She clicked her phone and shoved it back into her purse. “Ok, we’ll be getting your new makeover done at the Oak residence.”

“Oak?” Misty asked. “As in Gary Oak and our new teacher professor Oak?”

“Cha, and like Gary’s sister Daisy, she is the most important one of all! Why, do you have a thing for Gary?” May asked.

“N…”

“Well after Daisy is finished with you, you’ll be able to get any guy you want,” May chuckled.
*
“Well how is she?” May asked a woman in a white lab coat. May was sitting in a waiting chair in, Daisy’s Hair Salon and reading a magazine.

“You were right, she needed a lot of work,” The woman said brushing back her brown hair. She had lovely green eyes that matched her green shirt underneath her coat. Inside her jean skirt pocket there was some scissors, which she took out and snipped the air with. “I better get back there and finish her up,” She said going to the back of the salon.

“Thanks Daisy,” May called out before going back to reading her magazine.

An hour passed before May heard the clicking of expensive shoes. She looked up from her fourth magazine and saw an entire new person being accompanied by Daisy. She had carrot orange hair with bangs that were spiked to the right of her face. Her hair was silky shiny and now was shoulder length. It touched her shoulders and then curved back up. She was wearing a blue tank top and over that was a thin white jacket, which was shorter than the shirt and only went to bottom of her bust. The blue tank top was longer and also silky, it went down to her mid thighs were it covered the top of her tight Capri pants. The capris ended in between her knee and ankle, showing off her nice cerulean heels. She smiled like someone was taking her photo for a cover of a magazine and then said in a perky voice, “Well how do I look?”

“Wonderful, I wonder if Misty will look as good,” May said to the carrot top.

“This is Misty,” Daisy Oak giggled.

May held her chest in shock as her inner jaw dropped. “Misty! You look beautiful!” May shouted jumping up to further analyze her friend. “Daisy, you did awesome!” May shouted, jumping over to the barber and giving her a hug.

“Well, it wasn’t easy,” Daisy Oak sighed. “In the end, the finished project is all that counts.”

“So how much do I owe you?” Misty asked, running over and picking up her red bag.

“How about if I get to burn that ugly red…thing, than you can have a new purse and the makeover will be on the house,” Daisy Oak smiled extending a hand to take Misty’s bag.

“Wow, really?” Misty said, dumping the contents of her bag on a nearby black chair.

“A friend of May’s is a friend of mine,” Daisy Oak replied, handing Misty a pink purse. “It even has six pockets for your pokemon.”

“That’s nifty,” Misty said placing her pokeballs in each of the pockets.

“No, no, no Misty,” May said shaking her head. “That’s hot or totally cute, nothing is ‘nifty’ right?”

“Oh ya that is totally cute,” Misty said in a girlish voice. “Thank-you soooo much Daisy. If you ever need a favor I’m in your debt.”

“Oh hush, just take your purse and makeover and get your cute little tush out of here,” Daisy Oak giggled pushing the girls out of her shop.

“Now for something to eat,” May said holding her stomach.

“Why don’t we have supper at my house?” Misty asked.

“Are you sure I’m allowed?”

“Of course, company is always welcome in the Waterflower residence.”
*
“Misty’s not here May and…girl,” Daisy said as Misty and May walked into the house.

“Daisy it’s me!” Misty chuckled.

“Misty?” Daisy gasped, pulling the piece of blonde hair she was playing with out of her head.

“Yup, it’s Misty,” May said.

“You Guys! Look at Misty!” Daisy shouted out to her sisters.

They came down the stairs laughing. However, the laughs were replaced by gasps as they laid eyes on their sister. “Oh my gosh!” They both shouted at once.

“She is so beautiful now,” Daisy announced teary eyed.

“It’s all thanks to Daisy Oak,” Misty giggled.

“Oh Daisy’s always have the best taste,” Daisy said.

“May is actually friends with her,” Misty said.

“Well, May,” Lily said. “We’ve been wanting to meet you for a while, you two are like apart of the family now!”

“Ummm, wasn’t I always?” Misty asked.

“So May, what kind of pokemon do you raise?” Violet asked.

“Wasn’t I?” Misty asked sadly, as her sisters and May walked into the kitchen, chatting.

Wow this really does remind me of highschool. The scares of being mixed in with underclassmen in classes. Pretty good, nice length, decent description. Only mistakes I noticed were said and for some words instead of two there one like haircut and dinnertime. See ya next time!

Chapter 3
Max and the Big Kids

“Ok Munchlax,” Max said standing next to the pokemon his sister had previously gave to him. He fixed his glasses and then continued talking. “School today is going to go good, am I right?”

“Munch,” The chubby pokemon replied, nodding its head.

“And Psyduck,” Max said, now facing the duck pokemon Misty had leant him. “If you don’t want Munchlax eating your food, then why don’t you learn an attack?”

“Psy?” The yellow feathered pokemon questioned, placing its wing-like hands on his head.

“What am I going to do during pokemon battle class if we use the pool? Misty told me you can’t swim,” He sighed angrily, falling on his bed. “And in history if they ask us to take out our pokemon? Munchlax you’ll eat everyone’s food,” He sobbed.

“Max, it’s time to go!” Max heard his sister, May calling from downstairs.

“Well, return to you pokeballs,” he uttered as he held up each pokemon’s respective pokeball and sent out a red beam, recoiling them back into their ‘houses’. He placed the two spheres in his backpack, flung the bag around himself and marched out of his room and out of his house.

“What’s with you?” May asked her little brother as he walked to school sulkily.

“Nothing,” Max scoffed, picking up the pace.

“Misty got a makeover last night!” May giggled.

“Oh really?” Max asked sarcastically. “I hope she looks nice,” He said monotonically.

“Max, look I’m your sister, you can tell me anything,” May said kneeling down to Max’s height and stopping in the middle of the sidewalk.

“May,” Max sighed. “You and Misty both gave me lousy pokemon.”

“Lousy?” May asked. “Well, we didn’t have to give you them at all!” She shouted angrily.

“That’s not what I meant,” Max scoffed. “I meant to say is that everyone will make fun of me if I show up, as myself,” He pointed to his nerdy green shirt and brown knickers, “and with a chubby pokemon who eats everything in sight and a water pokemon who can’t swim.”

“Max, if Munchlax goes crazy and starts eating everything, give it a pokeblock. If you don’t want to be embarrassed by Psyduck, then just keep it away from water,” May advised her younger sibling.

“Why are you so chipper and advice giving?” Max asked, starting to walk again.

“Well after Misty’s makeover was over, I met her sisters, they are soooo cool,” May said clutching her two hands together and standing on her tip-toes.

“I hope I meet a friend,” Max whispered to himself as May continued to rant on and on about her new acquaintances.
*
Max’s first class was science, which he luckily had with Ash and the new improved Misty. She attracted the attention of all the boys in their class, even Ash was eyeing her. Max on the other hand was copying down the notes that were on the board.

“Ahem,” The old lady teacher up front said. “I’m teaching science here,” She announced in a frail voice. Her wrinkles on her pale face weren’t the only sign of…wisdom, she also had grey hairs sprouting in her naturally blonde hair. Another sign of her age would be her fashion sense, or lack there of. She was wearing an old purple church dress that had a tiny white portion, with a foggy purple pendant near her neck. “Misty Waterflower,” She called out, as Misty looked up, and stopped feeding the boys’ egos by winking and blowing them kisses. “Since you seem to be the centre of attention, why don’t you come up here with me and help teach.”

“Sure,” Misty croaked, standing up abruptly and walking slowly with her heels. “How can I help Agatha?” She asked, smiling.

Max was very intrigued by how Misty would help. He wondered why he wasn’t picked as he was obviously the smartest one in the class.

“Well, we’ll start by each picking a pokemon,” Agatha growled.

Misty flipped open one of the pockets in her purse for her pokeball. She took it out, clicked a button, making it expand and then threw it into the air, saying, “ I’ll choose Corsola!”

A blinding flash occurred, fading seconds later to reveal a cute pink pokemon. Well its upper half was pink, where as its bottom half was white. Five pink coral branches projected out of the top of its head and two small ones out of its side, which were its hands/arms. “Corsola,” The pokemon chirped happily as it hit the ground with a thud. It weighed as much as it looked and it looked like a heavy rock, after all it was a coral pokemon.

“Thank-you Misty,” Agatha snarled. “I’ll bring out Gengar.”

Agatha had a pokeball ready in her hand and quickly threw it. This time the flash gave birth to a rather bigger pokemon. It looked like a human, aside from it having no neck and spiky projectiles. Overall it was humanoid. Gengar was all purple, from his hands to his feet, aside from his eerie red eyes and slimy pink tongue, which it continuously stuck out while shouting, “Gengar!”

“Ahh!” A girl shrieked from the back of the room.

The class was now fully intrigued as Agatha slowly walked to the back of the room with her Gengar following. “Now as you can tell by the board’s notes, Gengar is a ghost pokemon,” Agatha announced pointing to the unnoticed board. “Now would someone please tell me what state Gengar is in right now?”

Max’s hand quickly shot up as he waved it in the air.

“You,” Agatha pointed to Max for the answer.

“Gengar is in its solid state right now,” Max declared. “He can however turn into his ethereal state or his invisible state just by the blink of an eye,” He continued. “Gengar is arguably the best choice for a ghost pokemon, as he can shift states faster than any other. A mere corsola wouldn’t stand a chance against such a strong pokemon.”

“Excellent answer,” Agatha congratulated Max as the classroom gaped in aw at the young student. “To further prove Max’s point Misty and I shall have a short battle.”

“Ok,” Misty chuckled. “I’ll warn you I’m pretty good… I mean I’m like totally hot… I mean I’m like really cute, at battling… oh whatever,” Misty stumbled with her words.

“Gengar, please show the class your invisible state,” Agatha commanded her ghost pokemon as it faded away.

“Corsola, use bubble beam all around,” Misty demanded her pink coral pokemon.

“We can’t have you hurting the students,” Agatha said as bubbles soaped up inside Corsola’s mouth, getting ready to attack. “Gengar say ‘boo’ with your astonish attack.”

Corsola went to spray the bubbles inside her mouth but was surprised by Gengar, who appeared out of nowhere and pushed her down. “Gengar!” He wailed as Corsola fell on its back, spitting a high powered stream of slippery bubbles at the ceiling.

“Ok Corsola, get back up and use spike cannon!” Misty shouted.

“Gengar, ethereal state please,” Agatha told her pokemon while Corsola’s head began to glow.

Corsola quickly jumped up in the air and aimed its head at the purple ghost. The coral pokemon made an angry face as her glowing head began to sprout out small spikes that launched quickly at Gengar. The poor pink pokemon’s attempt was futile as the spikes all went straight through Gengar.

“Now Gengar, fully charge and shoot a shadow ball,” Agatha calmly commanded.

“Corsola just charge at it with a tackle!” Misty yelled.

Corsola flung itself hopelessly at the still ethereal Gengar who was charging up a spiky purple ball. Unfortunately for Misty, her pokemon flew right through the ghost pokemon and bashed hard into a table. Gengar now had a large ball in its hands, bigger than Corsola. With a rough shove, he launched the giant purple ball straight towards the wobbly Corsola. The coral pokemon got over the bump on its head from the table just in time to realize a large ball of ghost energy was flying towards it. The pokemon attempted to move out of the way, but it was too late, the fully charged shadow ball hit Corsola dead on, causing it to faint.

Misty took out Corsola’s pokeball and sent out the red beam, which returned it. She then slowly stepped over to her seat next to Ash and behind Max. She glumly sat down and then looked over at the hag who did a number on her pokemon.

“Misty helped me demonstrate two things,” Agatha told the class as Gengar held up two deformed fingers. “The first was obviously the lesson and the second, ignorance!” The old lady shouted as Gengar stuck out its long tongue. “She didn’t pay attention at all and instead winked at the whistling horn dogs, who for some reason admire her stupidity! If she had been paying attention, she’d have known, not to use physical attacks on Gengar, when he is in ethereal state! Isn’t that right class?”

“Yes, Agatha,” The class replied in a monotone together.

“Thank-you,” She said as a bell rang. “And I’ll see you tomorrow.”

The day progressed rather quickly for Max. He was in Brock’s math class and Tracey’s and May’s English. High school seemed so easy to him, barely learning anything in his dull history class. He quickly shone as the star student in his first four academic courses but he dreaded the thought of lowering his average with the pokemon battling course he had chosen.

He came to the clay arena slowly but surely and found out that all the freshman were there. Pokemon battling must have been really popular, or perhaps mandatory. Max sought out his sister and friends and took a seat on the spectators bench next to them. The arena seemed much bigger close up.

Max looked over at Misty who seemed worn out as she massaged her cheeks. She then placed another fake ditsy smile on her face, crossed her legs uneasily and placed her clasping hands on top of them. Max than turned his attention towards the arena.

Only one person stood on it, which was their teacher. Max went it to shock as he saw that the teacher was his own father, Norman Sapphire. “Hello,” Norman said loudly, hushing the crowed. His outfit was as bland as Misty saw it yesterday and his hair still as boring. What attracted the people to him the most was his slightly unzippered jacket.

“DAD!” May shouted, as her mouth fell open. “You are my teacher?” She asked falling backwards onto the boy’s behind her lap.

“Yes, I’m a new teacher here, as most of you know,” Norman announced in a strong voice. “I’ve taken on the responsibility of teaching all the freshman, pokemon battling. And there will be no favoring from my part,” He said facing all the other students aside from his kin. “I have to children in this group and for my first demonstration, one of them will be helping.”

“Please not me, Please not me,” Max continued to say in his head, clenching his fists tightly.

“Max, would you please come here,” Norman said to his son, pointing a finger to beside himself.

Max slowly stood up, by far the shortest of all the freshman. He was seating in the first row so he didn’t have the fear of tripping. The walk from the bleachers to his father seemed like a mile to Max as he slowly walked out, playing with his glasses nervously. He stood next to his father and anxiously awaited what he was going to help him with.

“Max, like some, probably most of you, has never had a pokemon battle before,” Norman announced followed by some snickering. “But that is nothing to be ashamed of, as all of you will be engaging in battles. Max is going to help me show you how one might go. We’ll both be using normal types, as Max was recently leant a munchlax from his sister,” He loudly stated, as Max began to blush. “Go to your side Max,” Norman told his son, pointing to a painted white square at the other end of the clay arena. Max walked over to his side as his father did the same. “Actually,” Norman shouted stopping in his tracks. “Who else has a normal pokemon?” He asked as Max let out a sigh of relief and began to turn around. “After all I’m much too skilled to face Max a beginner with pokemon.”

Max’s face turned a bright red as again he spun around and continued his walk to the white square where he would send. He managed to reach it. His knees were wobbling as he continued to fix his glasses. “It’s ok,” He said to himself. Max looked up and saw that a familiar girl was in the other squared, holding her pokeball. He knew right away from Ash’s earlier description of her pink hair that she was Whitney, the one who had cried in his homeroom. Max began to smile brightly as he realized that he was facing a crybaby/sissy. He dug into his right pocket and pulled out the pokeball with Munchlax inside.

“Well, Max, Whitney, good luck battle commence!” Norman shouted.

“Go Munchlax!” Max called out now confident in beating his wimpy opponent.

“I’ll choose Igglybuff!” Whitney loudly said, not seeming so wimpy anymore.

Both Max and Whitney threw their pokeballs simultaneously and a large white flash occurred. The light cleared, revealing two pokemon. On Max’s side, the familiar chubby cat pokemon stood there. Its yellow feet were firmly on the ground with its blue arms wrapped around its large stomach. Munchlax’s yellow chin went up and down as it growled hungrily, “Munch!”

On Whitney’s side a small pink pokemon stood there twirling around. The cute Igglybuff was pretty much a pink ball with small legs and arms that stuck out of its bottom and sides. It also had a small patch of fluffy curly pink hair on top of its head. A magenta swirl was directly between and slightly above its two brown eyes. It whispered cutely, “Igglybuff.”

Max chuckled a little bit to himself before telling Munchlax its commands, “Use double slap!”

“Igglybuff, let’s be nice and give Munchlax a sweet kiss!” Whitney called out bouncing up and down, with her pink pigtails bouncing with her.

Munchlax’s stomach growled furiously as it waddled over to the side of the arena looking for food. He was being completely ignorant to the fact that there was a pink puff ball hopping towards it with its lips puckered.

Munchlax saw a fat kid with orange hair, wearing a traditional salmon and red outfit with oriental sandals on. He was preparing to shove a huge submarine bread sandwich into his mouth but Munchlax was too quick. The chubby pokemon grabbed the food from the chubby human and shoved it all into his mouth. “Hey!” The chubby red headed boy shouted.

“You shouldn’t be eating in class anyway Morrison,” a student said to the shocked Morrison who was standing up with his fists clenched.

Munchlax simply ignored Morrison and turned to face a puckering pink pokemon. Igglybuff was on one foot leaning towards the blue pokemon, with a ‘Mwah,’ Igglybuff’s lips gave birth to a heart, which floated towards Munchlax. It landed softly on his cheek before he started to waddle all around.

“Munchlax!” Max finally yelled. His cheeks were extremely red and his head held only high enough to see Munchlax and Igglybuff. “Oh darn, he’s confused now,” Max sighed to himself. “Use double slap…please,” Max cried.

“HA!” Whitney chuckled loudly. “Igglybuff let’s go with a pound and then use our secret weapon…” Whitney chuckled.

Munchlax waddled around, not knowing what it was doing, it began to double slap itself over and over again, until knocking itself out of confusion. It was too late for him as the pink power puff was on top of him and began to pound him furiously over and over again until he stepped back. Than Igglybuff took in a deep breath as Munchlax turned to Max, as if asking for food.

“Munchlax!” Max screamed, pointing behind his battling pokemon.

Munchlax slowly and stupidly turned around to see little igglybuff flying towards it foot first. Its foot was glowing an intense white light, which was the last thing Munchlax saw before the attack connected with the side of its face. Max’s pokemon spun around continuously until finally fainting on the ground.

“Munchlax is unable to battle,” Norman growled angrily, giving an eye to his son. “The winner is Igglybuff and Whitney!”

“YAY!” Whitney screamed loudly as her and her igglybuff twirled around and gave each other a thumbs up.

“At the end of every battle both trainers must shake hands,” Norman declared.

Max took out Munchlax’s pokeball and disappointedly pushed the button that would return him. He then walked over to the centre of the arena with his head held down low and shook the hyper happy Whitney’s hand.
