Chapter 1
Welcome to Pokemon High
The doorbell rang, sounding like a singing swablu. Both May and Max looked over to the door, which their mother, Caroline was answering.
Caroline opened the white door to reveal two adolescent men standing in the crisp autumn wind. “Ash, Brock, come in out of the cold,” Caroline said she fanned her white hands towards herself.
Ash didn’t hesitate to enter at all. He practically knocked down May’s mother barging through the door. He was wearing light wash jeans that were rolled up at the bottom, revealing his black and yellow striped shoes. His upper body was covered by a black t-shirt, which was under a hooded vest with a white half of a pokeball on it. He also had a green pokeball design in the middle of the black portion of his red baseball cap. He through down his red backpack and darted into the kitchen, where he began to eat some toast.
Brock took a much more slower approach into the house. He sported a brown jacket with and orange trim that covered his green shirt. Like his shirt, he wore green khakis that were sagging a little bit, showing off the top of his red plaid boxers. He fixed his gelled brown hair and then continued to strut into the kitchen, one hand on his book bag strap and the other holding up his pants by the crotch.
May flung her chestnut brown hair up into her signature hair style. Having to pigtails dangling in the front. The pigtails curved up a little bit at the end and complimented her sapphire blue eyes. She then placed a red bandanna over her hair, which had a white pokeball design on it. The red matched her top, which was mostly red but had a little bit of navy blue around the collar. This blue went well with her tight biker shorts that she was wearing, they had a white trim at the end of them that made her skin look a little bit more tan than it was. “I thought Max and I would be the ones picking up you,” May said after swallowing her last piece of toast.
“Ya, it’s not like you to be so early Ash,” Max said while fixing his large glasses. His hair was combed and gelled flat to the left. He fixed the white collar of his green shirt and then unruffled his brown shorts.
“It’s the first day of high school!” Ash said excitedly. “New people, better challenges, nicer equipment…”
“Cuter girls,” Brock interrupted Ash’s rant.
“And more pokemon,” Ash finished.
“Speaking of which, where is Pikachu?” Max asked, getting up from the wooden table and taking his dishes with him. He placed them gently in the sink and then looked back at Ash and awaited a reply.
“Pikachu is at home with my mom,” Ash sighed.
“Really? Why?” May asked also doing the same as Max just did.
“Pokemon need to stay in their pokeballs until allowed out,” He uttered angrily.
“In middle school they let you,” May argued Ash’s point.
“New school, new rules. After all, they just got a new principle who does things completely differently.” Ash said. “But I have my other pokemon and my mom will take good care of Pikachu.”
“How is Delilah?” Caroline asked, entering the room. Like her daughter, she sported brown pigtails, except hers were tied in the back. She wore a Sunday dress that was yellow at the top and creamy red at the bottom.
“She’s fine,” Ash replied. “Mr. Mime and her just do everything together now. The garden looks great, house looks great, food tastes…almost normal and she’s just been so energetic. Taking care of Pikachu should be a cinch for her.”
“Well mom,” May said giving her mother a look.
“Oh yes, don’t have conversations with May’s friends,” She whispered quietly to herself. “Well, I guess I’ll see you guys after school,” She spoke loudly, while holding up a yellow hip bag and a red backpack.
“Thanks mom,” May said as she took the yellow hip bag and clicked around her hip.
“Thank-you mom,” Max also said, taking the red bag and putting it on.
Brock strutted back over to the door and Ash ran and picked up his book bag. They all walked out and started on their way to school.
The group soon saw a red haired girl by the fountain. Her hair was tied back into a spiky pony tail and held up by two blue pearls. She had own a yellow outfit, the top had three blue buttons and a blue color, while the bottom was short-shorts and had no sign of blue. The top and bottom part of her outfit was very tight, making her seem more curvier than she actually was. “Hey!” She shouted and stood up from beside the fountain, fixed her aqua book bag and walked over to the group of friends.
“Misty!” The group said in unison as they met.
“You guys!” Another voice interrupted the introductions. It came from a guy who was carrying a sketch book and had a pencil in his left ear. He had shaggy brown hair that was kept away from his forehead by a creamy orange headband. It matched his shorts, which went well with his green shirt.
“Tracey!” Brock called out pointing his fingers at the boy running to them.
“Well,” Ash said. “Let’s not keep high school waiting!”
The group of six walked up the stairs and into the grand entrance together but soon were separated…
“I’m glad we snapped you back into reality,” The old man at the front growled in a raspy voice. “Good job Shelgon,” He praised the pokemon who bit Ash. It was pretty much a big white shell with four legs, which it stood on and a small black portion in the centre of it where its eyes and apparently teeth were. “As I was saying,” the man in the sailor’s outfit continued, his grey moustache moving up and down as he did so. “I am Drake of the elite teachers. This school is under new management, which not even I know much about,” he stated still sounding like he needed to clear his throat. “Your first class will always be homeroom. Unfortunately my talents are being wasted away on Freshman.” He wheezed followed by a gasp of horror from the students. “Oh get used to it, freshman are the bottom of the food chain and no one in this school is going to treat you with respect until you have earned it! So go find an older guy to date or go win a fist fight, cause you aint getting any respect till ya do.”
Ash’s classroom was quite small, with a chalkboard at the front where Drake was and two rows of student filled desks, each row with ten in it. Ash sat right up at the front beside a girl who was going ballistic over what Drake had just said. She had bubblegum pink hair that was tied into two small pigtails. Her eyes were very intriguing because underneath the layer of tears, they were pink as well. She had a nice white outfit on, with magenta trims. Her shirt, had the magenta on the end of her sleeves and down the middle, while her shorts had it just on the upper rim. “Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh!” She shrilled, while hyperventilating.
“Are you ok?” Ash asked his seat neighbor.
“I’m, I’m, I’m fine,” She forcedly said, through sobs. “I, I, I just didn’t think, think that high school would, would actually be like, like, like, like THISSS,” She sobbed loudly, catching the attention of the rest of the class.
“It’s alright,” Ash tried to comfort her, placing his hand on her back and patting it, while shifting his eyes, not knowing what to say or do.
The tears began to dry up as she smiled. “Thanks,” She said, now more cheerfully. “My name is Whitney,” she told Ash, extending out her hand.
“I’m Ash,” He replied, connecting his hand with hers in a handshake.
“It was ok, some girl named Whitney was crying,” Ash replied.
“Would all Grade 9’s please report to the cafeteria after break,” The speakers boomed, with a girlish voice behind them.
“Well anyways,” Ash continued. “Who is your homeroom?”
“Karen,” May said happily. “She is really pretty but also strangely mysterious.”
“My homeroom teacher, Drake, is far from mysterious, he had his shelgon bite me cause I wasn’t paying attention!” Ash shouted, rubbing his thigh where he had been bit. “I wonder where everyone else is,” Ash pondered. “I really want to know how they made it in homeroom.” He announced his he began to run down the hall.
“Ya, me too, cause you know walking down the hall just with you…is great,” May whispered to herself.
“For you maybe,” Max argued. “I need a pokemon or else I’ll have to go back to elementary.”
May stopped dead in her tracks and took a pokeball out of her backpack. She threw it high into the air and with a flash of white light, a small pokemon formed. It was mostly a real dark shade of blue but it had some yellow on its muzzle and feet. The pokemon was cutely chubby and had two cute ears on its head. “Munchlax!” It called out.
“Max, you can borrow munchlax until you find a pokemon of your own,” May said to her little brother.
“Really!” Max giggled excitedly as he ran over and hugged Munchlax who was roughly the same height as he was. “Thanks May!”
“Well what if you are doing double battles?” Misty asked. “Here, my psyduck should help you,” she said also taking out a pokeball and releasing the being inside.
A small yellow duck came out. It had a long beak and long webbed feet. His wing-like hands were clutched around its round head as it sighed confused, “Psy?”
“You’ll be staying with Max for a little, ok Psyduck?” Misty asked her pokemon, kneeling down to its level.
“You too munchlax,” May said to her pokemon as she placed its pokeball in Max’s hand.
“Munch?” it asked, holding out his hand for food.
“Here munchlax,” Max said, pulling out a pokeblock case and dispensing a pink block into the chubby pokemon’s mouth. The pokemon expanded, and sighed satisfactorily. “Psyduck and Munchlax, welcome to your new home,” Max announced as he gave his borrowed pokemon a big group hug.

They arrived at the marvelous building that they’d be spending four years of their lives in. It had stairs leading up to the double door main entrance and trees going along the side. They could see a picnic area with stone tables and a lovely fountain that elegantly flowed. But what caught Ash’s attention was the three battle fields that he could just barely see off in the distance. One appeared to be like a soccer field, another looked as if it were water and the last looked like a regular clay arena. Each of the battle fields had spectator’s benches but nevertheless, all were empty. The group soon saw a red haired girl by the fountain. Her hair was tied back into a spiky pony tail and held up by two blue pearls. There were 5 grade 9 classes and by luck, no one was in Ash’s home room. They still however had course selection to try and have a go at it. All this ran through Ash’s mind until he was bit! “OUCH!” He screamed as he jumped out of his seat. “I’m glad we snapped you back into reality,” The old man at the front growled in a raspy voice. “Good job Shelgon,” He praised the pokemon who bit Ash. “How was homeroom?” May asked walking next to Ash down a hallway. “It was ok, some girl named Whitney was crying,” Ash replied.

“Welcome to Pokemon High,” A lady said at the front of the room. She was very pretty but yet looked sophisticated. Her carrot orange hair was neatly tied back into a pony tail, which pushed her hair out of her face to show off her glasses and beautiful lips. She wore only a sleeveless black tank top and a purple mini skirt. Both were very tight and made her look extremely curvy. She even had some of the male grade 9’s whistling and yowling at her. “Some of you might know me from homeroom but for those who don’t, my name is Prima. This session here is where you will carefully pick out the courses you will be taking for the rest of the year. Math and English are mandatory, the rest, you can decide. Choose wisely though cause one wrong class could ruin you and Freshman don’t get the option of course changing.” Pencils began to scratch frantically at the paper in front of the freshman, as they chose their courses. “Also, I’d like to say that a couple of new professors will be joining us this year, Koga and three lovely professors. Professor Oak, Birch and Elm. Good luck to them and good luck to all of you.” *
“Well that was a fun first day of nothing,” Ash said with his arms folded behind his head as the group of friends walked down the street. “For you maybe,” Max argued. “I need a pokemon or else I’ll have to go back to elementary.”
May stopped dead in her tracks and took a pokeball out of her backpack. She threw it high into the air and with a flash of white light, a small pokemon formed.
