Yeah, you heard me. Me and some others are sick and tired of journey comics being given the celebrity treatment. I'm not whining because I had a lot of attention and I'm pissed off that I don't now, it's about justice for creativity!

CREATIVITY ISN'T A CRIME PEOPLE. YOU CAN THINK OUTSIDE THE WET SOGGY BOX.

COMIC RANTS WIN AT TEH INTERWEBZ.
I agree. Journey fics take up half of the dang comic forum. everything else (AKA THE STUFF THAT ACTUALLY ROX) gets bumped out of the way by five pages of crap. WITHIN MINUTES. I think a rule needs to be instated:

NO JOURNEY COMICS WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL GRADE EXPERIENCE.

in other words, only if it's actually good. (which incidentally eliminates upward of 95% of all journey comics on the spot)

all the good comics are either:

1. non-POKeMON (shpam man, EiR, CoH)
2. POKeMON without journeys (Metal Virus, ME, Falter Point (by the sound of it so far), etc.)

THAT sould be the stuff you see first thing on page one.

The only kind of journey I'd stand is an ORIGINAL journey, like Ace of Abra. no badges, no leagues, no contests; just RENT DODGING. that's the only GOOD journey I can even think of.

...

can't think of any more ranting material, so... bye.

ps: LOL this could become a full fledged comic 8P "Sora & Co.'s Rants"

what, making it or enforcing it? 8P
Both, really.
I don't think that the moderating team would create a rule in the comic sub-forum that would enforce... taste in comics. But even if something like that gets passed, how can you tell if a person has "professional grade experience" in making a pokemon journey comic or not?

I think the best thing to do would to is to discourage people from making them, unless they're actually going to make more that 20 episodes or something like that.
It's a pokemon forum, people are going to post pokemon journey comics. No matter how crappy they are.

Well uh the pokémorph comic I've been planning for some months now will be somewhat journeyish... *Is kunaied* But it won't be a cliché.

Here, here Outlaw *raises glass*.

Professional grade experience? Only Cousin Woofer has that much exp. on here methinks. Agh, I keep forgetting to CG his comic.

Scripting is at times is difficult. Many people here have the art part done like dinner, but no offense to many people many of the comics here have weak jokes and plotlines. That's why I want to get the Academy rolling again so that people can learn the skills that they need. I would be more than happy to spend hours discussing plotlines with people.

I've had to triple or quadruple post in my comics to get some sort of comment, but I think that I scare people.

Power to the quirky comics!

That is actually true! my comic Hoenn Mew Mews isn't really a journey comic but more of one with five girls that have powers of animals that live in Tokyo get somehow sent to Hoenn and end up different places and a gang of aliens team up with Team Aqua and Magma as well as one who does his own thing and what they are trying to do is go home to their own world while stopping the aliens from getting the Mew Aqua to expand the land or sea and awaken Deep Blue. So when you said pokemorph journey comics I thought that maybe you were referring to mine except it isn't cliche like your examples but it could still be a reference. But yeah I always find my comic being bumped down.

You make an excellent and refreshing point. It's not like there's anything inherently bad in the journey comic, but just like with Authors, it's so, so easy to slip over into cliche territory.

I mean seriously. We know enough about the typical journey just from watching the show or playing the games. Can't we focus on some of Pokemon's other aspects for once?
