Pokemon in the funnies

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but Pokemon was in the newspaper comics. They were kind of dumb, actually, and not much of a connection to the games. They were more closely related to the show, and even then, it had a lot of diffrences.

It lasted less than a year, and wasn't really anything more than illistrated jokes. There was some implied romance between Ash and Misty, even more so than the show (which was nice). But not only were the characters scool-age (including Brock), they actually went to school.

There was very little battling, and the battling they did have wasn't exactly exiting. The only place Team Rocket appeared was a camreo in the last comic.

Other than the jokes, it must be seriously lame. Not much to discuss about a newspaper strip, as not everyone got the same newspaper. Plus, not everyone comes from the same country that the strip is published. So it would be nice if you could show us some scans of the strip.

My local newspaper never carried the strip either. I saw it in a novelization of all the strips. I'll see if I can find some, though.

Edit:The title of teh novelization is Pikachu Meets the Press: A Pokemon Newspaper Strip Collection. You can probably purchase it from Ebay or something. I'll still look around for scans, however.
