Pokemon LEGENDS: Z-A - General Discussion/Speculation Thread

Actually if I recall those same leaks said
intended for the Switch and not the Switch 2.

Correct

Or a crane which is rather surprising considering what a significant cultural icon the bird is in Japan. Fearrow isn’t a crane and Bombirdier is obviously a stork.

If I had a nickel for every species or breed of animal that GF still has yet to turn into a Pokemon. I'd be a very rich man.

The other wonderful thing about Pokemon is types. Luxray, Solgaleo and Pyroar are all inspired/based off of lions. Yet because of their differing concepts tied to their type, they are all starkly unique and thus allows GF to continue making more lion Pokemon to fit other types if they wish.

Same for just dog and cat and bird Pokemon in general.

BTW guys, Mega Jynx's design has been found in the XY data

Not as unique as you think, looks like GF was very inspired by Disney's Frozen. Which is interesting since both released the same year, but surely development for this started before Frozen's first trailers came out. I am starting to wonder if the design came much later and was just initially scrapped because this was the best they could think of and weren't happy with it nor had more time to develop further.

Games being announced way before they release isn't exactly uncommon, it happened to Zelda twice (BoTW, TotK), to say nothing of the new Digimon Story announced back in 2016, or Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, or Digimon Survive.
Metroid Prime 4's case is pretty similar to that of the latter 3, too: game was in an unnaceptable state, got delayed so it can (hopefully) release as a fully functional product.
But about Z-A specifically: you are worried over nothing. What's the worst case scenario? We only getting more news about the game on Pokémon Day 2025, the day we know its GUARANTEED to have news about the game anyway?
The example I liek to bring up is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Delayed by over a year, but it's considered a classic now, one of those history-defining games and, for many who grew up at the itme, THE game to define the Nintendo 64, if not the entire console generation.

That looks so fake, it's funny.

I do trust that it's authentic, but it looks like someone fan's doodle of what they'd want Mega Jynx to look like.

I saw that image yesterday and payed no mind thinking it was a fanart. Hopefully they reworked it if they are to make it a thing in Z-A.

Btw, the thread for leaks is the other one. There's been some leaks being posted on this one since yesterday, some people might want to avoid those so we should keep it to its dedicated thread.

Man, that Mega Form sucks. If it ends up being a thing in Z-A I hope they make a big improvement.

Does anyone else think that the game won't take place entirely in Lumiose?

I mean, there are so many other important areas in Kalos related the lore and Lumiose's development, most notably the power plant. I just can't imagine us not going other places.

We’ll see once we get our first proper trailer. For now, I’m taking their statement at face value.

Hard to say for certain but it may just be that they have a story which is very focused on a specific points that doesn't need to expand beyond the borders of the city and explore the wider lore of Kalos (even though there is a lot to explore as Kalos does have a lot of options). It could go beyond the city but they could also want to really lean into the urban element.

I need a small advice guys: as I said in previous messages, I'm gonna quit gaming very soon, because I hate what it has become, I hate what the industry has become, I hate what gamers have become and in general the games of my liking are becoming less and less. I'm still here temporarely, only because I want to be sure that Nintendo won't be bast*** and releases news about the only two games coming out next year I have legittimate interest for (Pokemon Legends ZA and Metroid Prime 4) right before I start taking the distances from the media for good, because I still really want to play those two games before quitting it completely. If they don't say anything by their Inverstors Meeting (November 5th) they won't say anything before next year, so I'm still (REALLY regretfully) looking at gaming sites until then. With that being said, after I take the distances, what approach should I use to eventually know when those two games come out? I just wait until February 27th and then look around at Google? The release dates for both should have been given by then, and knowing when they come out is all I need. You think this would be the better solution or do you have better approaches I should take?

If Mega Jynx were to hypothetically appear in a future game where Abilities are programmed, Mega Jynx's Ability would be either Tangled Hair or Magic Guard.

pretty much

just check serebii, its the most reliable site for Pokemon news and the quickest to report.

the investor's meeting is not to promote new games to the public, never has been and I don't see GF choosing to release anything then. So really its best to just wait and see until February.

I know that you know. But they can still announce things in the meantime the meeting happens, to have something to talk about with the investors. Unfortunately, the time is getting more and more strict, and I doubt we'll have any infos about anything by then (especially since they just announced the remastered of Xenoblade X...)....

I'm still giving it a shot just to be sure, but at this point I think it's just a waste of time...

This has nothing to do with Legends: Z-A, but here's what I think we'll get for completing Pokedexes in Pokemon HOME:

Scarlet/Violet: Shiny Meloetta (Already confirmed)
Legends: Arceus: Shiny Arceus
Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl: Shiny Manaphy
Sword/Shield: Shiny Zarude or Shiny Gigantamax Melmetal
Let's Go, Pikachu!/Eevee!: Shiny Mew

If Abilities, Held Items and Breeding get introduced to the Legends series in Z-A, how do you think they will work? Exactly like in non-Legends games, or will they have their own twist?

My guess is they'll either be largely absent (similar to LA) or basically function very similar to the main game. My guess is the former but that depends on what the focus will be. If it has as heavy a focus on catching like LA (where you were supposed to catch multiple to complete the dex requirements) things like abilities and breeding may not be in it but its hard to say.

I could see breeding returning if the game is set after XY. There could be a new Daycare in Lumiose City or breeding could function like SV

The battles would mainly be the "old school" style from Gen 1. And Pokemon could Mega Evolve without having to hold a Mega Stone.

You know what, I'd be ok if Piplup doesn't end up being the water starter for ZA if it meant that we could get Inteleon with a regional variant.

I really dig Intelleon's concept, the entirety of it, i love all the tricks built into its design (water gun finger pistols, fencing tail, scope/night vision eye lids, gliding membrane, sticky climbing hands and camouflage). I just want it to have a stronger design.
