Pokemon LEGENDS: Z-A - General Discussion/Speculation Thread

As for the title, Z obviously refers to Zygarde, and as for A, I'm not entirely sure, but Avalugg comes to mind.
I wouldn't complain but I think if they are standing in pokemon it would be for one a little bit more prominent.

I personally think its just meaning the Z-Axis

Being a gen 6 Pokémon I suspect Kalosian Avalugg will be in-game (they could even make its Hisuian form accessible if they wanted to do so but that's less certain) but as for what the A in the title means my guess is that if it refers to a Pokémon it will likely be a completely new Legendary/Mythical Pokemon.

Since Zygarde is last Pokémon in the Pokédex I see new A Pokemon to have it's name to start Aa- or at least Ab(a-q) so it can be the first alphabetically since we have Abra. Seems Carracoata is Abagora so I'm leaning towards an Aa- name

Actually Abomasnow is the first Pokémon alphabetically.

Yeah you are right:)

Or we are getting Abomasnow with an ability opposite to Wonder Guard since Abomasnow has like a dozen of weaknesses:-D unless it's an Abomasnow in an Inverse battle;-P

Well instead of wonder guard if they wanted to give it less weaknesses they could do a regional form for it or a 2nd mega that gives it an alternate typing. For example if it was a Grass/Steel it would have less weaknesses. Even though it wouldn't be the A Pokemon in that case it might help it a bit.

Yeah, but I think Inverse battles is one of the most underused things from gen 6. Imagine those in anime.

On that I can't deny (the anime at the very least could have easily had an episode dedicated to it). While I don't think this will happen in this game if they had a facility like the battle tower where one of the options along with single and double battles is that you could could engage in competitive inverse battles as an option it could be a lot of fun.

Imagine Clemont wanting to become an Inverse battle expert. It would explain him getting a Grass and Normal type on his Team, would show how clever he is etc. imagine as Vs Clemont being an inverse battle

In fairness both can learn an electric move, good against electric type moves (one immune and one resistant so good for training) and several type specialists have coverage Pokémon. Speaking of Clemont though considering the city Legends Arceus will be based on I think it would be a fun to have Clemont appear in this game (or if its set in a different time period a relative of his) and have them show off a new Mega based on one of his Pokémon from the anime. Such as a Mega Luxray, Mega Diggersby or Mega Chesnaught. Heliolisk could also work but i'd prefer that to get an evolution.

I think that if anything we would get game Clemont and not anime Clemont.
About the Mega choices, Luxray would be nice and fan favorite (especialy if part dark), since we need more Electric Megas.
Chesnaught - we can get if Kalos starters get Megas but highly doubt "Standard" trainers not being Rival or MC will get one of those.
Diggersby - we didn't get a Mega Regional Rodent yet so could be interesting. Especially since Diggersby is already quite strong with Huge Power so would get a good Mega Mawile counter:-D
Agree on Heliolisk, it needs an Evolution.

I like to think that there is another meaning behind Z and how it connects to A. I think AZ will have a major role in the story. And there is no way that GF won’t include Eternal Flower Floette into the game after being known to exist since Gen VI and how it is a fully completed Pokémon.

Wild speculation on my part here, but with the Switch 2's joycon default colours being revealed I have a theory on the Gen 10 colors.

With the Switch we had red and blue joycons and that was reflected with Sword and Shield's logos.

My guess is that if Gen 10 is indeed the Mediterranean and is Pokemon's equivalent to Wind Waker, then I am guessing the colors for gen 10 will be aquamarine and orange. Which will represent the sea and sky in a unique way.

Especially if we take into account the theorized names from the Teraleak; Kaze (Wind) and Nami (Wave).

Switch 2 officially announced with confirmation on backwards compatibility with Switch games.

If chances of GF doing duo versions of the game were already slim (one for Switch and an improved one for Switch 2), I guess they are full zero now that the game will be available for Switch 2 by default.
Not necessarily, PS5 is backwards compatible but PS4 games were (even still are) still being made.

Sony likes to support both the current and the previous Playstations. They've been doing it since the PS2 launched. As for the Switch 1, I'm thinking there will be another two years of games for it before Nintendo focuses solely on the Switch 2 in 2027. Because I remember them saying, they wanted the Switch 1 to last a whole decade. We might even have Switch 2 games until 2035 if the system does well.

That's not what I said, though.
I didn't said Z-A is not coming to Switch (something that was confirmed along with the game's existence). I said GF is not going to make an improved version for Switch 2, since the game being released for Switch will already mean it's going to be on Switch 2 anyways.

I think so as well. There's just no reason to port over Switch games due to the Switch being a massive success and the Switch 2 being backwards compatible.

My guess is the respective Legendaries would be at least part Flying type for Kaze and part Water type for Nami.
