Pokemon LEGENDS: Z-A - General Discussion/Speculation Thread

This probably isn’t the case but could you imagine if the reason why we’re getting a special Flying Terra type Eevee for Pokemon Day is because they are planning to reveal a new Flying type Eeveelution for Pokemon Legends Z-A?

I had that thought too. You know, I find it odd that we haven't had any new Eeveelutions since Sylveon all the way back in Gen. 6.

I think that's because all the Eevee-related marketing has shifted towards Eevee itself so it can basically serve as a secondary mascot of the franchise. I don't think there will be any more Eeveelutions.

Obviously no guarantee it will happen but I could imagine it (even if I wouldn't be expecting it). There's not that many pure flying types even now so it would be something fun and they could contrast Sylveon's Pixilate with Aerilate.

Well that in the games that followed is there wasn't any cross-gen evolutions at all (and even gen 6 only had Sylveon) unless they were regional in nature until legends arceus (and even those evolutions which are treated slightly differently) and then in Scarlet and Violet. So I suspect that cross gen evolutions being less common in general for a while possibly impacted a bit.

I was just thinking: The "Z" in "Z-A" of the game title could be referring to Zygarde. I don't know about the "A" though.

The point is, what if Zygarde gets something new in this game.

And maybe we could get a sort of preview of it in a later episode of Pokemon Horizons (Japanese sub, of course).

well the Teraleak did point towards
Mega Zygarde

also, to jump in about Airveon here:

-1st the flying tera type evee just matches flying tera type Pikachu
-2nd its for Pokemon Day and balloons are often celebratory things
-3rd as limited as it is, flying tera type could have been chosen to cover Evee's fighting type weakness. GF either chooses tera types that will boost a Pokemon's type or counter a specific weakness. Again flying tera type Pikachu, while referencing past things also was just to cover Pikachu's ground weakness.
-4th gen 7 was going to have a flying type Eevelution but was scrapped. Being too close to a fan design.

the outcome is never never but the chances are low it means anything

I keep thinking that the A represents AZ who I think will have some part in the game. I also believe that Eternal Flower Floette will finally be made accessible. That thing is such a weird part of Pokémon history. It’s super weird that it has its own Dex entries and even a signature move and Stats yet was never released just like the Azure Flute. And it’s pretty clear that it was planned to be released during Gen VI given as you can hack it into a game and nothing bad will happen

It’s Elbaf season!
Shiny Mew/Celebi/Jirachi/Deoxys/Victini are even harder to get. Somehow, I can see all five being obtainable in Pokemon Legends: ZA if you have existing save data from a previous game.

It's possible given there has been in game events like that. Though if it was up to me I'd prefer it to be something like Marshadow even if it wasn't shiny. That hasn't been available for a while an even then it was only to specific timed events

Legends ZA Dex completion gift I actually see being Shiny Eternal Flower Floette. They’d definitely want to make the gift something really special and having a Shiny form of a major character in the Kalos games that has never been officially released despite being well known about for the past ten years would make players work hard at completing the Dex in Home. It worked for Original Form Magearna.

That would make more sense for the completion gift. For Marshadow I was more thinking like the Jirachi gift in BDSP where you get it if you have certain game data accessible.

I think, that with PLA being focused on gen 4 mythicals for cross save bonuses, the same will be said for Z-A.

Being Hoopa, Diancie and Volcanion.

However with Diancie having a Mega, I wonder if instead it will be a post game mission.

Volo will come back with a full 6 Mega Pokemon Team with M-Diance and Rayquaza on top of it:-D

There was a rumor a while back that did suggest that....
Zeraora will be in this.
So maybe that will be another cross save bonus.
