I recently had an idea/missed opportunity.
We know how Trace Cubone is quite iconic and makes a lot of his character development.

A missed opportunity was not making his Marowak either Kantonian or Alolan based on your game with Kantonian for Pikachu and Alolan for Eevee so it would it be immune to your Starter type (Ground being immune to Pikachu's electric and Ghost being immune to Eevee's Normal).

Sounds like a good idea in concept but I suspect the reason they did not is they knew that in the rematches Alolan Marowak was needed for Agatha's team (given the limited ghost options regional forms and limited ghost types in general) and they didn't want to double up on the Alolan Marowak in one game. Might work in a future game though as there's now a lot more regional options than there was at the time.

Still they duplicated Gengar on Agata, both Lorelei and Trace have a Slowbro (Trace should've had the Mega one instead of M-Pidgeot) and Blue has half of Lance's Team (Aerodactyl, Charizard, Gyarados). As much as first 2 can be excused, giving Blue half of Lance Team and not a single Ground type is crazy (Sandslash or A-Dugtrio would've been perfect)...

Omg I caught my second shiny! It's a golden lady Caterpie. I learned sea skim today so I flew to route 22, caught a quick Poliwag, and thought well I will just stroll the forest and save at pewter city so tomorrow I can watch slowpoke for poke ball money and bam, pretty little sparkles around shiny Caterpie. My loving boyfriend watched me capture her (I think he is good luck.)

4 badges into my journey, catching water Pokemon to level up, and soon I will face koga.

With koga down I have 5 badges and will be visiting the power plant soon to claim my first legend, Zapdos. I got an alolan grimer in trade but it's from go so it won't count towards the lgpe dex. Still I think he's cute. I hope to eventually get a Machamp as I have the other 3 trade evolutions.

Caught Zapdos! Now to go to silph co. and Chase out team rocket. And I got a Machamp in trade.

Not had as much time as I'd hoped for this week but I am about halfway thru silph co. now. Made a quick detour to delete the karate dojo and claim hitmonchan. I had already touch traded for a hitmonlee so now I have both registered.

I have beaten Sabrina for my 6th badge and gone through seafoam islands and caught articuno. Having a lot of fun.

Got my 7th badge, caught a tangela, and got the mega stones from blue. Tomorrow if I have time I will get that final badge and start navigating victory road. I also evolved my German gloom because it learned moon blast and that's a great coverage move.

Did the Gloom have a nickname? sometimes get some interesting names when trading is involved.

In fairness that is a pretty good name. Sometimes some of the other language versions work well.

I finally have all 8 badges and an exeggcute. I made it through victory road and caught moltres but I think I need to train more before challenging the e4.
