It would be cool. This is one of the first games where there aren't any trainers to control the Pokemon and have Pokemon as the boss in each level (without the trainer).

Can you just go around using moves without reason? That would be awsome!

PP is still an issue in these games, so pointlessly using attacks would work to your disadvantage.

I'm glad I can play the game on my computer. Though I can't understand it the graphics are amazing - no wonder this game got a 35/40 from Famitsu! It's a great new kind of RPG and I think it's awesome. I hope Nintendo will hurry up and release these in the US because I want them!

Now for DS games - I need to get the Card and test out games to see if I want them....hmmm... - I'm gonna call Nintendo to see if they know when the games will be released in the US...

It is great so far, at least what I've been able to fake since I can't actually read Japanese, but it really is a cool hybrid of the Pokemon games and the Mysterious Dungeon series of games. Some things worth nothing:

-Rumor has it that the pokemon DO NOT evolve in this game. You'll learn new moves at the same levels (for the most part) as you would in the Pokemon games but once a Chamander, always a Charmander.

-Classic Pokemon states, like paralysis or confusion are working more according to the Mysterious Dungeon series equivalents. Like paralysis means that the afflicted Pokemon can't do ANYTHING for a few rounds, none of the wussy true Pokemon games deal with only a 25% chance per round an attack doesn't go off. At least in the Mysterious Dungeon mode of acting it doesn't usually last very long.

-So far you only directly control your main guy with your partners under your indirect control (you can pick which of their techniques you want them using and stuff like if you want them to charge everyone or maybe actually try to avoid any battles).

-In addition to each pokemons' 1-4 techniques, which have limited PP only recharged when they leave a dungeon or eat some sort of PP restoring seed, they all have some basic damaging attack (no effects) you can use infinitely so you'll never actually be out of attakcks.

I'll post more as I think of it later...

It's turn based, however now you have to factor in movement and position. Everything in dungeons takes place on a grid. You can move around just like in previous games, however now the enemy Pokemon just wander around on the grid as well. When you move, they’ll move and so on. If you’ve ever played a Lufia game movement is exactly like that, however battles here take place on the same screen and actually allow you to move during the fight. If you see an enemy Pokemon you can either chase after it, or run away from it. They can also do the same regarding you, and some Pokemon seem to have different "personalities" that control their choices. For example, a Poochyena ran up to me and I did some damage to it. The Poochyena then turned around and ran away from me, until I finally cornered it and proceeded to slaughter it like a freshly caught fish. Oh, Pokemon merely disappear in a puff of smoke when they're defeated in this game, by the way. What that means, I don't know. However, since you can recruit some Pokemon when you defeat them, I suppose they don’t die... Unfortunately...

I don't think this game will be released in English.

The other Mysterious Dungeon games didn't make it, so sadly, it's very likely this one won't too...

Pokémon is Nintendo's money-making machine. People will buy this game just because it has Pokémon on the cover. Why wouldn't they release it in English?

It looks really intresting, and I'm hopeing it does come out here soon. The chances of it coming out in english (IMO) are definate. 100%. Pokemon will come back into swing when the 3 games come out (Dungeon, Ranger, Diamond/Pearl). I can see pokemon being a big thing for 2006.

And since Pokémon is a big franchise it probably will

Indeed, these games are pretty much guaranteed to rake in big profits in Western markets... Nintendo will surely get English versions onto store shelves as soon as they can.

Well, I sincerely hope you're right...

Anyways, how do you save ingame?
I've gone through 5 dungeons without getting a chance to save...

I can't recall exactly but its in there with the system options, like where you can change the border colors and text speed.
