Pokemon Nicknames

If you catch a pokemon , are you giving it a nickname ??

Scizor -> Blade
Blaziken -> Blaze

I tend not to use too many nicknames on Pokemon. I only do it on two noticeable occasions. One is when I'm going to trade it. I'll really only do obvious names that I wouldn't need to see the Pokemon in my party to know what it is. Char = Charizard The other occasion is when it's a shiny Pokemon. The two shinies I received from my friends were a red Dusclops named Rare Red and a green Pelipper named Green. So to keep up with the tradition they started, I named my Orange Zigzagoon Ziggy. Easy enough.

As you trade a pokemon to another , you can't chance it name .
I hate that .

I only nickname the Pokémon I'm going to use in my team. I don't like constantly seeing the STANDARD UPPERCASE NAMES.
Right now, my Wartortle is named Anton, my Clefairy Mju and my Mankey Kyo.

I often call them an abreviation of their name (Chaddy - Charizard), sometimes it depends on what the pokemon's like (Vines - Venusaur, Sparks - Pikachu) and sometimes it's something that sounds cool (Jippy - Pidgeot). And on Ruby I called most of the pokemon I caught real names that sound a bit like the pokemon's names (Wilma - Wailmer, Penelope - Pelliper, Gordon - Groudon etc.)

I caught a Drowzee today, and because I wanted to use it I figured out a name for it.
Well, first off I wanted to name it Drow-Drow, but sounded kind of silly so I decided for Double D.

Today I renamed my Bellossom, i named him Dancer. Yes, it is HIM, it's a boy.

I give all my Pokemon nicknames altohugh I'm not sure why I just always did that. Most of my Pokemon follow a pattern but sometimes I just name them random names. Here are a few of my nicknamed Pokemon.

Fire Red Team (mainly ending in a's)
Ivysaur - Bulba(named it that as a Bulbasaur then was too lazy to change it)
Pikachu - Pika(self explaintory)
Pidgeotto - Pidga(Pidg + a)
Arcanine - Arca(self explaintory)
Lapras - Lapa(Lap + a)
Eevee - Eve(self explaintory)

Leaf Green Team (Took the first two or three letters of their Japanese name then repeat it)
Wartortle - Zeze(Squirtle's Japanese name Zenigame)
Raichu - Chuchu(Same same Raichu)
Sandshrew - Sansan(Japanese name Sand)
Victreebel - Bombom(Bellsprout's Japanese name Madatsubomi)
Ninetales - Concon(Japanese name Kyukon)
Aerodactyl - Rara(Japanese name Ptera)
