I generally try to nickname my pokemon, usually something fitting to it's type/species or its personality..but sometimes they're just random..such as:
Forretress - Tahoe (as in chevy..."like a rock!")
Relicanth - Brock (the eyes!)
Swampert - Squanto
Umbreon - Moose (it's just a great name..)
Tyranitar - Grendel
Dragonite - Smaug
I just need a good name for Torterra..

I love nicknaming my pokemon! ^_^ They're not always the most original names, but I feel closer to my pokemon if I name them. So here's some of them:

I gave them 10 letter codes. The code would be made up of:
<species number><4 letter abbreviation of species name><pokemon number>
So for example, if I chose Squirtle on my fire red, it would be:

I never really name my pokemon but my brother does.
He comes up with the weirdest and most original names and he refuses to use my ideas (which sound alot better)
