Ruby, definetley.

I still have a question about it....what's up with that Chikorita? What does it DO?

If you hit the button under Chikorita, it uses Razor Leaf and the Linoones pop out.

The Sapphire table.

Although, it's much easier to enter Travel Mode on the Ruby table. Linoone is FAR too easy to hit.

Random: Rofl. At first, I accidently typed "Linoone is FART too easy to hit". Rofl.

Ruby.

I can't prove this but:

On ruby I achieved a score of approximately 167 billion.
When this happened all field counters were currently on screen and at max:
End of Ball bonus: 99
PKM caught: 999
Balls: 9
Master Ball
Pichu and Pikachu
etc etc

This was not done with the infinite loop trick. But I can't prove it because when this score is reached the variable for score goes above the max that the double variable can hold. Thanks to this it tries to write to a portion of the GBA memory that it can't. This caused my game to freeze and then the screen to go white. I was at school when this happened and the guys didn't have any digital cameras on them.

Let's just say I won't be attempting it again. It took up too much of my life as it is.

Sapphire table is the one I seem to do best with. On the Ruby table, however, it's almost like I can keep the ball in play longer. o.o

I prefer sapphire table. I just got jirachi on this game which I'm proud of. I have no idea how I'll get rayquaza, I can barely beat that rayquaza game once. He'll probably be the last one I get. I had this game for a year before I really got into it. Maybe because its the only pokemon game I haven't really got into.

I'm way better at the Sapphire table. I'm okay at Ruby, but I got Rayquaza, Latias, and Jirachi in the same game on Sapphire (that was one long game!)

Holy crap, a Pinball R/S thread! xD

Anyways, I'm better at the Sapphire table than I am at the Ruby one. But I'm no where near as good as you guys are obviously. But then again I don't play very often. xD

Sapphire for me. I reckon it's a bit easier for me. My Sapphire table score is around 8 million and my Ruby one is about 5 million.

Not sure. I don't really play it much, seeing as I have a score of around 5 billion and I have the pokedex complete. The only thing I need to do is catch Chokirita, Cyndaquil, Totodile and Aerodactyl (if it's true that Aerodactyl is obtainable). I used to be good at Ruby, now I'm better at Sapphire.

Gee. GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG... Anyway, Sapphire. Scored over 3 billion once, caughtRayquaza twice, and caught Latias.

I don't know!
I just need Latios, and DARN PICHU (seriously, how do you get him). I also lost vileplume in my Pokedex from some stupid glitch. I have Jirachi too.

I'm best at Ruby, my high score's 13,294,324,586, and I've got a full Pokédex (aside from the Johto starters and Aerodactyl).

Pichu is found by hatching. I think it's pretty rare. Funny, Latios and Pichu were my last two Pokémon to get, too.

How did you get such high numbers, BobDoily? And I thought I was good... Also, whats the infinite loop trick?

Here's how I got the high score:

First off I abused the slots. Everytime the ball was new/out I made sure to rotate the slot lights to get it activated ASAP. This provided me with an easier way to get pichu, coins to buy bonus rounds etc.

Most importantly I always focused on maintaining my ball as a Master Ball. That way I got the x4 bonus on everything.

While catching monsters I went for as many Evos as possible. This let me get to the bonus rounds faster. The bonus rounds + x4 bonus = huge points.

To really help out I made sure to not loss the ball often. Instead of earning new ones by buying/slots/cataching Rayquaza I tried to keep the ball in play. That way I had more multipliers for each End of Ball Bonus. While doing that I would hit the EoBB multiplier as many times as possible. I had several EoBBs with the multilpier at 99. Once I received a bonus of 5 billion.

That, combined with far too much time on my hands let me crash the game. I actually called nintendo earlier to ask if they had put an error trapper to catch this. They said that everything had been taken care of, but they were wrong.

Infinite Loop trick on Ruby field.

First off you need to get the bumpers to be set as the three rotating clockwise.

Next shoot the ball around the left loop of the field, let it come around and tap it agian in that direction, but lighter.

When it gets to the top of the loop, at the position above the left of the three paths above the bumpers. Shake the table upwards. This will make the ball lose lots of momentum.

If the ball doesn't fall in, you'll have to repeat the light tap around + table shake.

The key is to time it so that when the ball falls through the hole it hits the bumper on its way up. This will give it enough momentum to go into the path area again (covering the little light).

It will proceed to follow this pattern if you got the shot off right:

Fall down.
Bumped by a bumper, but only goes partway up.
Falls down.
Bumped by the second bumper, this time it has enough momentum to get into that little path and cover the light.
Falls down
Bumped by the third bumper as it originally was.
It goes up to the same area covering that little light.

This cycle repeats endlessly. But only if you get the intial timing and speed right. If you have a backspin on the ball when you shoot it up it tends to not stay in the loop. Any further shaking of the table will make it exit this loop.

If you want you can repeatedly hit the A button to rotate the lights so that you get you ball to maintain the current multiplier. If not you can just plug in your SP, go to school, hang out with your friends, eat dinner, go to bed..... and come back in a week to see it still there.

I didn't actually leave it on for that long, I essentially observed the same pattern recur for 10 minutes straight, then I left it on and watched it go for an hour. I then got bored, bumped the table to get it out.

But to make sure of this, I repeated the experiment a few times to get it into the loop. It work.

It's probably one of the harder shots in the game to pull off. More a nifty little trick than anything.
