Chelsea nervously walked up on the podium, she was to fight on the sand, rock field, so she had a slight advantage. She wasn't to worried, the telepathic affinty she shared with her Pokemon was unbreakable, besides this wasn't even a really big tournament, 4 rounds max how good could the people be?
Begin! the announcer called
Chris, who’d gotten to the top of the League building watched Chelseas battle intently, way below he could see Jessica, and he gang just talking, and Raichu on his shoulder as usual he had no shortage of things to occupy himself. She was working her psychic barrier again, so he couldn’t help her even if he wanted to. Still, Chelsea’s battling style was quite interesting, with her black hair blowing in the wind, Manuella led with a Ludicolo to Chelsea’s Alakazam. Alakzam first focused its energies using Calm Mind, beat the duck with a single Psychic attack that tossed it out of the ring. The battle was quickly becoming one-sided, which caused Chris to actually laugh out loud.
“Come on, Sam, you can do better than this,” He muttered as his girlfriend's opponent next chose a Ledian.
Chelsea didn't even sond-guess herself, knowing she had this match in the bag already.
"Alakazam, just finish this with another Ice Punch!" She calmly said.
Ledian went down immediatly, but not without a few curses from Manuella.
She lastly followed with a Swellow, not a bad choice, but Chelsea knew what is was about to do before it even attempted.
Her third must have been an even worse match-up, something Chris wasn’t sure existed, And Of course, Chris saw what Chelsea was doing right before it fell to the ground.
"Swellow, Quick Attack!" Manuella ordered.
Chelsea had predicted right, and now prepared a counterstrike.
"Alakazam, Ice Punch!" She commanded.
She must've been a very skilled trainer if she Alakazam to chill the very molecules of the air into ice. "Wonder what else she can do?" He thought to himself. Manuella sourly recalled her Pokemon.
Chelsea had read Manuella's mind, so she knew what to expect, so basicly Manuella tied a noose around her own neck, Chelsea was now the winner. Chris was happy for her because now he had his match to fight.
"Cheating again I see." Chris said as he walkd up to Chelsea, who just laughed.
"Oh really?" She said squarely. "I would''ve won anyway, so might as well finish it early."
Chris just slapped her *** with a resonding smack.
"Ooh!" She said, it was an unexpected surprise.
*Will the next contenders step to the podium.*
Chris in stark contrast to Chelsea was completely calm as he approached the podium, he had heard Drake in the hall swaggering earlier, so he was gonna put a stop to that right now. As Drake approached his respective podium he began taunting Chris yet again. "Yup that seals it." He thought. "Ima take him down fast."
*Begin!* The announcer yelled.
"I choose you!" "Salamence!" Chris yelled and his blue/orange dragon came out of the pokeball. Drake responded by releasing an Rhydon, not a good choice. Chris was thinking up a reason why he would use this, but quickly dismissed every notion, and just attacked.
"Salamence, use Hydro Pump." He ordered.
A torrent of water erupted from the dragon's mouth, and hit the drill pokemon squarely, knocking it out of the ring also rendering it unconscious.
Drake recalled Rhydon clearly surprised.
"Drake, wheres your confidence now?" Chris jeered.
Chelsea, and Adam were watching from the stands while the others went for snacks.
"I don't like this.." Chelsea trailed off.
Adam just looked at her, and didn't think much of what she just said.
Drake next used a Magmar, who immediatly sprung into action.
"Magmar Fire Blast!" He yelled.
Salamence flew into the air just in enough time to dodge the attack.
"Now Salamence, counter with an Earthquake!"
The dragon nodded, flew around a few times before flying towards the ground, landing hard causing huge shockwaves that rendered Magmar useless.
"Now its your turn Masqerain!" Drake tried to use Agility to speed himself up to, but the dragon's intimidation prevented him from moving to much and, he was hit striaght on with the Aerial Ace, he crumpled from the hit, one shot was all it took.
"Now Salamence return to your ball." a beam of red light hit Salamence as it came back to the pokeball. The battle went much faster than he had expected, the announcers, and judges were equally impressed.
Jessica's match was next, and he was a little anxious to see what she used.
"Charles Dansley is a renowned expert on breeded techniques, so be ready for anything Jessica." David warned. Jessia wasn't worried as she walked toward the podium, Chris had rubbed off on her a little bit.
"Remember that the weakest Pokemon hold the most surprises." David called.
Jessica stopped herself, and was about to call out something, but stopped herself, and continued walking. She walked to the podium, and there stood renowned Pokemon breeder Charles Dansley.
"He's American, and they didn't know a thing about Pokemon training." She said to herself. The chance she might've had if he was Asian maybe would've dropped, but this would prove to be quite easy.
Jessica opened with an Aerodactyl, Charles chose an Pelipper. Chris looked at the clouds to avoid seeing her getting beaten horrifically. A Rock type against a Water was not a good match. Glancing a few moments later, Aerodactyl was flying above a fallen Pelipper, flying quite gracefully. Chris shook his head slowly.
He positioned himself better to watch the fight as Charles chose a Venusaur. after an Aerial Ace, the dinosaur was down.
Chalres was now losing hiis cool, and finished with a Ninetales, a singel Earthquake later, the battle was over.
Chris wasn’t sure if he should be amazed or disbelieving. He’d only seen a match like that once before, where a single Primeape swept its opponent’s team until a lone Feraligatr decimated not only the Primeape but the rest of its opponent’s team.
It was a fabled Master Breeder at the reins of that one, too. Hot damn, David thought, the next fight was bound to be impressive he hoped.
