Chapter Translation/Summary:
Out in the open Saffra Sea, the Summer Land leader Kamuri hovers on his Pelipper, and soon spots the shining object which was picked up by the radar floating just on the surface of the waters. Pelipper lowers Kamuri to retrieve the blue coloured item, and Kamuri marvels at its beauty, comparing it to a miniature version of the sea.

Kamuri then contacts Hayate, the Ring Town leader, and informs him of his success in finding the item. Hayate congratulates him, and urges him to bring it to Prof. Shinbara as soon as possible. Kamuri apologizes that he cannot accompany Hayate on his mission, but Hayate assures him that it is alright, since Joe, the Fall City leader, and Erida, the Wint Town leader, are both there with him.

Kamuri grins that with three leaders of the Ranger Union present, there are no missions that they can't clear. He hopes they would join him to discover the mystery of the shining object soon, and hangs up before flying off on Pelipper. Meanwhile, Hayate, Joe and Erida prepare to set off on their own mission.

That night, at Fall City, a fire breaks out on a high floor of a skycraper, and a little girl cries for help out from a window while onlookers gather around the foot of the building.

Kazuki arrives at the scene, and sees that the fire site is even higher than he expected. Fortunately, he has captured a Heracross and a Tangela before coming on this mission just in case their help are needed. With his partner pokemon Minun clinging to his shoulder, Kazuki calls Heracross forward, and the blue beetle quickly spots a fallen tree. With all its might, it lifts up the heavy tree trunk and flips it against the external wall of the building.

Kazuki then begins ascending along the tree trunk, but soon discovers that he is still some distance from the fire site. He proceeds to seek help from Tangela, who shoots out its vines and lifts the boy up to the window where the young girl is.

Kazuki's sudden appearance stuns the girl, and Kazuki wants to confirm that she is Iyori who sent off the help request to the Ranger Base. The girl replies that she is the one sending off the request, and Kazuki tells her not to worry as he is there to help. He then picks her up in his arms, and begins rushing down the stairs. They soon reach the lobby on the first floor, and Iyori thanks Kazuki for his help.

Suddenly, Kazuki's Capture Styler rings, and he answers to hear the booming voice of a lady yelling out his name. The lady demands to know if he has forgotten about their date, and complains that she has been waiting for a good 40 minutes. Kazuki explains that he is on a mission, and the lady is upset that his work is more important to him than the date. Although Kazuki tries to explain that disasters and troubles usually come unexpected, the lady decides to hear no more, and tells Kazuki never to call her again.

With that, she hangs up, and Kazuki is left with two rows of tears down his face. He sobs that while he has a consecutive run of completing 103 missions, he has also had 12 consecutive failed attempts at love. Iyori wonders if he is alright, and apologizes for sending out the request at a bad time, but Kazuki assures her that it is alright, as saving people is his job, and he enjoys saving cute little girls.

Just then, they hear a cracking sound from the other end of the room, and notice that the fire has consumed most part of the building. Kazuki states that they must leave now, and picks up Iyori to jump past the obstacles along the way. The girl marvels at how Kazuki came up to such a high floor all on his own, but Kazuki grins that he didn't do it alone, but with the help of pokemons.

Once they leave the building, Kazuki states that it's time to put out the fire, and bids thank you to Heracross and Tangela. Iyori is surprised to see the two pokemons depart, and wants to know if they are Kazuki's pokemons. Kazuki is equally surprised that Iyori doesn't know about pokemon releasing, and says it is something everyone knows in Fiore.

He then reads up on Iyori's profile on his Capture Styler, and realizes that she just moved in from a distant land. Iyori remarks that there were no Rangers but only Trainers in the land where she used to live, and Kazuki decides to let her witness how Rangers carry out their jobs.

Looking around for suitable pokemons, he spots a Crocronaw, and immediately sends out his Capture Disc to spin around the water pokemon. He explains to Iyori that it is called 'Capturing', which evokes a pokemon's emotions, and temporarily gains control over it, just like what he did with Heracross and Tangela.

Once Crocronaw is captured, Kazuki has it deliver a blast a water to put out the flames. But then a burning plank plummets towards Kazuki, and Iyori screams in horror. Fortunately, Crocronaw blasts it off just in time, and Kazuki compliments it for its work.

After a while, Kazuki finally succeeds in putting out all the fire. Watching all along, Iyori apologizes for being blunt, but she doesn't understand why Kazuki needs to put his life at stake while seeking the help of pokemons alone is sufficient to accomplish tasks. She says he makes people around him worry, and she can see why the lady whom he had a date with didn't want to see him again.

With a slightly sad look, Kazuki thanks Crocronaw and waves goodbye. He then states that in the land where Iyori came from, people known as Trainers capture pokemons in pokeballs, raise them, and train them. But in Fiore, the way they work with pokemons is completely different.

Rangers seek help from pokemons at the mission scene, and once that is done, the pokemons are release. He himself is no different, and brings along Minun as his permanent partner only, which is in fact a rule that must be followed by all Rangers.

Rangers regard pokemons as part of nature, and it wouldn't be right to take away part of nature. Kazuki remarks that he is a nature lover, and he will put himself forward to protect it, which is what his job, a Ranger's job, is about.

Iyori seems content with Kazuki's explanation, and Kazuki states that rule 215 of the Ranger's Regulations requires them to stay at the fire site for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the fire doesn't recur after it is put out. He suggests having a bit of training with Minun as they have time to spare, and the two of them begin doing handstands together.

Iyori wishes to know Kazuki's name, and Kazuki introduces himself, being a Rank 10 Ring Town Ranger, currently 16 years old, born on 18 May, with blood group O, and his interest being work itself.

Just then, Kazuki's Capture Styler rings again, and Iyori wonders if it's the lady changing her mind. But Kazuki answers to find Hinata instead, who wants to know his progress in the mission. Kazuki reports that the fire has been put out, and the little girl is safe. Hinata commends his work, and says she is at the Ranger Base at Ring Town right now.

She wonders if Kazuki knows of their leader, Hayate, going off on a mission that afternoon, and reveals that it was about the pokemon Deoxys. However, the situation seems more complicated than they expected, and though she managed to make contact with their leader during his tough battle with Deoxys at one point, she has been unable to locate him since then.

Kazuki wants to know what has happened, and Hinata states that the mission has failed. What's troubling is that their leader went along with Joe and Erida, and even with the three Ranger leaders, they are still no match to Deoxys.

Meanwhile, sprawled across the floor on their Fearow, Dodrio and Skarmory, Hayate, Joe and Erida lie defeated while Deoxys turns its back on them...

Here ends the first chapter. Seems like this Ranger Comic will focus on the two special missions - Deoxys and the Manaphy Egg instead of the ingame story.

Chapter Translation/Summary: (courtesy of GladiariaAlata)
Back at the Ranger Base of Ring Town, Hinata showed the record on Joe's Capture Styler to Kazuki. Hinata stated that the three leaders were completely defeated by Deoxys's overwhelming power. Kazuki expressed his surprise that even the Capture Styler was broken. At this moment, someone else approached the two Rangers from behind, saying he was also surprised by that. They turned around and found it was Prof. Shinbara.

The professor than explained what it means by "the Styler was broken": The Styler was to use the Capture Disc to Capture a Pokemon, and the line that the Capture Disc shoot out was called the "Capture Line". When a Pokemon used an attack which broke the line, the energy will backflow into the Styler and cause damage on it directly. If this keeps repeating, the Styler will eventually break.

Prof. Shinbara mentioned the design of his newest Styler was also stolen by some evil organization. He then ordered Hinata and Kazuki, the two Class 10 Rangers, to continue the mission which the three leaders had failed, since they were all in the hospital. Before the two left, Shinbara asked Hinata to contact him if she heard anything from Kamuri. He explained that Kamuri asked him to meet him at Ring Town's Ranger Base since the Summer Land leader wanted to show him something, but he was not heard of ever since. On the other hand, Hinata asked the professor to look after Iyori, who was staying at the Ranger Base and didn't answer to anyone's call. The professor nervously agreed.

Outside the Ranger Base, someone beating on a drum informed his elder brother Yuuki that two Class 10 Rangers had left. Yuuki, who held an electric guitar, replied that Mirai had already been waiting near the Croca Tunnel. The drummer then asked if they were going along the plan and meet up at the said tunnel.

Scene change to the Lila Forest, where Hinata and Kazuki were heading to the Croca Tunnel with a large team of Pokemon following them. Kazuki (with a Treecko, Ralts, Mankey, Quilava, Gligar and Magneton) looked back at the Pokemon they've Captured on the way while Hinata (Wurmple, Phanpy, Ekans, Swellow, Gengar, Houndoom and Graveller) said that was okay. She then asked if Kazuki knew anything about Deoxys, which Kazuki swiftly answered "no". She was a bit surprised since Kazuki always brags that "there's nothing about Pokemon-san that I don't know about".

But the next frame she said that she knew nothing about it too. That's why she captured so many Pokemon, thinking they may be useful. She noticed one characteristic from the Record though: the "changing" ability of the Deoxys, and the way it seemed to intepret everything around is its enemy. She figured that Prof. Shinbara must be worried about what disaster it can cause if they let it escape to the city, that's why he sent the two Rangers out in such a hurry.

Hinata turned to Kazuki, who was wearing a serious expression, and commented that it'll be a good chance for him to express his gratitude to Hayate, who accepted him as a Ranger after Kazuki's 7 letters. But then, Kazuki suddenly sensed something, grabbed Hinata and jumped forward. As the smoke cleared, Deoxys was standing where they had been chatting seconds ago. Deoxys then changed into its Attack form and flied into the Tunnel. Hinata and Kazuki gave chase.

Hinata tried to capture it, but Deoxys turned into Defence form and batted the Disk away. Her second attempt also ended in failure as it changed into Speed form and avoided the Disk. This time, Kazuki called out Treecko and used the Grass-Type Poke-Assist to Capture the Deoxys. However, the Deoxys cut through the thick grass that surrounded it and Kazuki's Styler received damage from this.

A new voice commented that Deoxys was in its most speedy form and they won't be able to stop it. The new voice then introduced herself as Mirai, one of the Team Go-Go's 4 Siblings, the team that had always caused trouble to the Rangers. She teased Kazuki had already gotten a new girlfriend when he just got dumped last night. Hinata got p*ssed, saying she's just a teammate/colleague (I sense RangerShipping here). She grabbed Kazuki by the collar and asked why did he tell such thing to a Team Go-Go member. Kazuki, of course, didn't have a clue. But then Mirai revealed she was the girl who dumped him in chapter 1 by putting on a wig and called him "Kazu-kun".

She also revealed that their plan was in action since two days prior to that moment. They detected a mysterious energy but could not tell its exact location by their radar. So they had to use the Ranger in order to retrieve the source of this mysterious energy.

At that instant, Yuuki also made his appearance, and said they only needed to create a distraction to the other leaders as they go and take the energy source. He was the one who startled Deoxys and caused it to go on a rampage. Mirai's real purpose in the plan is to stop the Class 10 Ranger from going for help, but Kazuki forgot the "date" instead. Hinata soon realized the "energy source" was the object that Kamuri wanted to show to Prof. Shinbara.

From behind them, the drummer, Youji, appeared and threw an unconscious Kamuri down to the two Rangers. Before Kazuki and Hinata could approach them, however, Deoxys extended its tentacles and caught them. The 4th sibling appeared too and praised the other three for their good work. Yarai, whom the 3 siblings refered as the "big brother", smirked at the two Rangers while holding the Manaphy egg in hand...!!

Chapter Translation/Summary:

Watching Kazuki and Hinata being restrained by Deoxys's tentacles, the four Team Go-Go admins pull out their signature musical instruments and introduce themselves. Mirai, with her violin, states herself as the eldest girl; Youji, with his drum, the third boy; Yuuki, with the electric guitar, the second boy; and finally, Yarai, the eldest brother, also with an electric guitar. The four sibilings claim themselves to be the admins in charge of all Team Go-Go activities.

Yarai wonders if Kazuki and Hinata know how their scheme worked exactly to stop the rank 10 Rangers from lending a hand, which Youji described as a quartet, and Hinata rationalizes that while Yuuki aggravates Deoxys to defeat the 3 Ranger leaders, Mirai used a fake identity to distract Kazuki, and Youji ambushed Kamuri. All the while, Yarai choreographs everything from behind.

Kazuki remarks that the sibilings did all this obviously just to get the luminous object from Kamuri, the mysterious item called the Egg of Manaphy which they learnt from Prof. Shinbara. He demands to know what it is, and Youji snickers that Kazuki really knows nothing. He states that the only thing to do with an egg is to hatch it, and by doing so, they will soon possess the phantom pokemon known as Manaphy. Yuuki decides to add his two cents by elaborating further, but Yarai stops them and says they have already spoken too much, which Youji and Yuuki quickly apologize for.

Yarai then tells Mirai to take the egg back to their Hideout, and Mirai happily climbs onto her Camerupt to depart after blowing a kiss to an annoyed Kazuki. Hinata fumes with rage with she struggles to free herself, but to no avail. Kazuki then quietly tells Hinata that they are both professionals, and must fulfill their current missions. He states that in addition to the task of capturing Deoxys, they must also retrieve the Egg of Manaphy as well, making their current work a W(double)-mission.

With Mirai gone, Yarai claims that their work there is over and decides to leave. Yuuki grins that he likes it when Deoxys rampages, and decides to send it out to storm the streets. The DNA pokemon then tightens its grip on both Kazuki and Hinata, who let out yelps of agony. Kazuki wants to know where Hinata's Capture Disk is, and she notices it still spinning on the ground, like Kazuki's which he used the grass-type Pokemon-assist with.

Kazuki wonders if Hinata is still able to control her Styler, and Hinata replies that she is. The two then attempt to retrieve their disks simultaneously, which manages to distract Deoxys to release its tentacles. Both Rangers grab the change to break free, and take their Capture Disks back before Deoxys reaches them. Kazuki then tells Hinata to give chase to Mirai for the Manaphy Egg, while he remains there to deal with Deoxys, each taking on one part of their W-mission.

After Hinata sets off, Yuuki and Youji are obviously not pleased that the Rangers have managed to break free. Youji reiterates what Yuuki said about liking Deoxys rampaging, and adds that they are fully in control of it. Starting a beat with his drum, he turns Deoxys into its attack-form, which immediately starts attacking Kazuki. The boy adeptly escapes its deadly tentacles, and decides to use the ice-type Pokemon-assist this time.

Calling the power of his Glalie, he sends his Capture Disk spinning forward to create a wall of ice around Deoxys. Unfortunately, Deoxys easily smashes it apart, and Youji grins that it's useless. Kazuki resorts to fire next, and uses the fire-type assist from Quilava. But Yuuki strikes a note on his guitar to turn Deoxys into its defense form, rendering Kazuki's attempt useless once again.

Kazuki notices that the energy bar of his Capture Disc is getting lower and lower, and rationalizes that the consequent Capture Line damage by Deoxys is causing an energy backflow which is slowly damaging the internal structure of the Capture Styler.

Yarai then grins that Kazuki must be worried to end up like the 3 failed Ranger leaders Hayate, Joe and Erida. However, being the heartless Team Go-Go Siblings, they would actually give him more damage then he bargains for. With that, Yarai orders his Tyranitar forward and swat Kazuki off his feet, knocking his Capture Disk off as well. Yarai snickers that he shall give Kazuki his cruelest treatment, and Kazuki could do nothing but helpless watch his Capture Disk crushed by Tyranitar's stomp.

Meanwhile, Mirai is happily humming a tune as she makes her way back to their hideout at the Cycla Mountain Ranger. Suddenly, a whirl of wind blasts at her, and she recognizes it as the twister created by the flying type field ability. Hinata then shows up with her Swellow, and demands the Manaphy Egg back. She advices Mirai to hand it over before she makes her sorry, but Mirai plays innocent as she hops off her Camerupt, and claims that she doesn't have the egg with her.

Quickly looking around, Hinata orders Swellow to use its field ability, gust, again, to unearth a hiding Parasect, which is revealed to be holding the Manaphy Egg. Mirai gets upset and orders Camerupt forward to attack. Hinata states that the Camerupt is also a victim from Team Go-Go's evil plans, and decides to set it free by capturing it. She calls for the bug-type assist from Wurmple, and soon plagues both Mirai and Camerupt with a sticky goo.

However, with an angry glare, Mirai plays a chord on her violin, and Camerupt uses an erupt to send the goo blasting back at Hinata and Plusle. Hinata gasps at the skillful move Mirai made Camerupt pull off, and states that it isn't an easy combination even for Rangers. She then realizes that it's all due to the music Mirai plays on her violin, which seems to be able to change the emotions of a pokemon.

Mirai grins that Hinata has finally figured it all out, and reveals that inside her violin is equipped with a Capture Styler as well, the more advanced Super Styler developed by Prof. Shinbara..

Chapter Translation/Summary:
Crouching over Hinata, who is plagued by the sticky goo Camerupt threw back at her, Mirai grins that all four sibilings of Team Go-Go have had the Super Styler designed by Prof. Shinbara equipped into her musical instruments. Hinata fumes with rage when she realizes that Team Go-Go are not responsible only for provoking Deoxys to steal the mysterious egg, but also the ones who stole the design work of the professor.

Mirai admits the accusation with a giggle, then sends out the hidden capture disc inside her violin towards Plusle, much to Hinata's horror. Mirai laughs that the Super Styler is 3 times much stronger than the Rangers' normal stylers, and it was her brother Yuuki who incorporated the sophisticated technique, and blended it into the musical notes of their instruments, allowing them to control the discs simply by playing the right tunes.

She wonders if it would allow them to capture Hinata's partner Plusle, and Hinata watches helplessly with a frustrated look as Plusle struggled against the capture line. Mirai laughs that she hopes Hinata now sees that it is not wise to interfere with Team Go-Go's plans, and there is nothing to stop them from claiming the Crown of the Sea.

Back at Ring Town's Ranger Base, Prof. Shinbara and Iyori gasp with worried looks as they listen to Hinata and Mirai's conversation via the real-time sound recorder device installed in Hinata'a capture styler.

Just then, they hear footsteps behind them, and turn around in surprise to see the battered Ranger leaders, Hayate, Joe and Erida. Prof. Shinbara voices his shock as they are supposed to still be under medical care in the hospital, but Hayate grins that as Ranger leaders, such injuries can't stop them. However, he soon concedes, and admits that it took them all their strength to get there as he plomps down on the chair.

Prof. Shinbara isn't pleased that the three of them are pushing their limits, but Hayate says they can't sit back while the junior Rangers are taking after their failed missions. Erida says she overheard the term 'Crown of the Sea' mentioned by the enemy, and Joe wonders if Erida knows something about it.

The Wint Town leader explains that there is a legend about a Sea Castle invisible to the eye floating somewhere in the vast ocean, which holds a treasure known as the Crown of the Sea. She then looks over to Prof. Shinbara for confirmation, and the old man nods that it is true, and that in order to get to this castle, one must depend on Manaphy. He believes that Team Go-Go is planning to use Manaphy to get them to the Sea Castle to claim the Crown of the Sea, which is said to make the owner the ruler of the world according to the legend.

Hayate wants to know where Kamuri is, and Prof. Shinbara sighs that from what he learnt, the Summer Land leader has fallen at the scene of the current battle. Hayate grits his teeth in frustration and wonders if there is nothing they can do to support Hinata and Kazuki.

Joe heads over to the computer and says he'll try to work on something, and says the current fight is taking place at the Fall City entrance of the Croca Tunnel, as he can pick up Hinata's styler signal from there. However, he couldn't locate Kazuki, and Prof. Shinbara explains that it's probably due to the excessive damage it received during the battle against Deoxys.

Joe then wonders if Prof. Shinbara still has his broken Capture Styler which was retrieved from their previous battle with Deoxys, and the old man wonders what he wants to do with it. Joe explains that his styler had the fullest recording since it stood the longest, and he wishes to examine the data again. Prof. Shinbara finds him the broken device and says Hinata has already copied the extractable data from it, but Joe believes that together with their hands on experience, he should be able to work out something to help the junior rangers.

Meanwhile, in the Croca Tunnel, Kazuki watches with horror as his Capture Disc is reduced to dust by the stomp of Tyranitar. Yarai laughs maniacally, and says without the disc, there will be no more capturing and no more pokemon assisting. The emblem to signify Kazuki's rank 10 ranger status might just as well be nothing now.

Yarai then decides to show Kazuki what power really is, and strikes a cord at his electric guitar, sending out a beam of energy, which is calls the melody of desire, towards Deoxys, morphing it from its defense form to the speed form. The DNA creature then swoops in towards Kazuki for an attack, and soon pushes him towards the edge of a cliff.

Youji then beats a tune from his drums, calling it the rhythm of rage, and turns Deoxys into its attack form. Deoxys thrusts its sharp tentacles into the ground and swipes Kazuki off his feet. Yuuki then adds his music with his own guitar, turning Deoxys into its defense form, and stops Kazuki in his tracks.

Kazuki quickly realizes that the musical instruments work just like the Capture Stylers, and that the continuous music the siblings play are causing Deoxys to morph rapidly, with Youji's drum music conjuring the attack form, Yuuki's base guitar the defense form, and Yarai's guitar calling upon the speed form.

Yarai is glad that Kazuki has worked out the connection between their instruments and Deoxys's form changes, and adds that they are actually fully in control of this trick now. Back when Deoxys was facing the three Ranger leaders, its rampaging was solely triggered by Yuuki's music notes, but it was enough to give the leaders a hard time. Now, with three different instruments to control its forms, it will be an even harder task than before to capture Deoxys, and certainly more fun for them.

Kazuki gets angry that the Team Go-Go siblings use the term control on Deoxys, and says it is degrading pokemons as beings on their own. Yuuki grins that Kazuki is fuming over trivial things, and sends out his Scyther. The green mantis hooks its left scythe on the sleeve of Kazuki's uniform, and swiftly lifts his up into the sky.

Kazuki demands to know what they're doing, and Yarai laughs that Kazuki has lost, and he is nothing but garbage now. They are just giving him the proper dumping he deserves, and the other brothers laugh are Scyther lifts the boy higher and higher into the sky.

Yuuki then says he feels sorry to see the poor Minun tumble into the same fate, and wonders if they should capture it first. Yarai agrees to the idea, and the three brothers simultaneously send out their capture discs towards Minun.

Kazuki gasps in horror and suprise when he sees the disc hovering in mid-air, and Yuuki explains that while the rangers' usual discs must spin on ground or at most on the water surface, those under the control of the Super Styler don't need a solid track to run on, granting them greater range of movements.

Youji laughs that Kazuki will now not only fail his mission, but also lose his partner pokemon, and he no doubt deserves to land flat face on the ground. Yarai then decides that it's time to for a grand finale, and tightens his capture line around Minun, who struggles against the capturing force.

Thinking hard to come up with a plan, Kazuki looks over the other side of the land, and sees Hinata's Plusle struggling against a capture too. Hinata happens to look up at the same time, and sees Kazuki being held captive in mid air by Scyther.

Just then, she receives a message via her Capture Styler, and opens it to find an important advice from Joe. Mirai isn't happy that Hinata can still distracted from their battle when she's clearly losing, and orders her Camerupt to attack. But Hinata quickly resorts to using a ground type Pokemon assist from Phanphy, and manages to ward off the flames. She then uses a rock type assist from Graveler, and manages to stop Mirai from playing her violin for a while. Wasting no time, Hinata follows up with a ghost type assist from Gengar and a poison type assist from Ekans to ward Mirai off while she dashes back and forth in the area.

Up in the air, Kazuki watches Hinata perform her acts, and soon gets her message. He tells Minun that although they are in a very unfavourable condition, he says they must try their luck, and hopes Minun will give him its trust. Putting on a serious look, Kazuki tells Minun to take a big leap from where they are...

Chapter Translation/Summary:
High up in the air above the Croca Tunnel, Kazuki sees that he is at an altitude higher than any buildings on fire he has been on before. But as he takes another look at Deoxys, who he knows isn't acting out of its free will under the control of Team Go-Go, he is determined to free the DNA pokemon from the evil hands.

Bracing himself, he tears his jacket away from Scyther's grip on him, and takes a plunge downwards with Minun clinging tight onto his hand. The Team Go-Go siblings, Yarai, Youji and Yuuki gasp with disbelief that the crazy Ranger is taking a leap at such a height without a parachute or a flying pokemon, and can't understand what he has in mind as his Capture Disk has already been broken.

With a determined look, Kazuki hollers that he may not be equipped with a parachute or a flying pokemon, but he has the intellect, a virtue most crucial for a Ranger during a mission.

Back at the Ring Town Ranger Base, Hayate is convined that Kazuki will be alright, and pulls out a pile of letters. Erida wonders what they are, and Hayate explains that they are the 7letters Kazuki sent him begging him to take him in as a Ranger before the boy became one. He reveals that the letters manage to bring him courage everytime he is depressed or couldn't complete a mission, and admits that at the beginning, he really thought the boy was just another pestering kid not knowing what he is asking for. But reading the letters themselves made him think otherwise.

In his letter, Kazuki stated that he aspired to be a cool Ranger, a Ranger who could go around to help people and pokemons. He has questioned himself why he wanted to be a Ranger, and he could proudly say that it is because he loves seeing content smiles on others. He also asked himself what is required to be a Ranger, and he knew that it called for intellect as well as skills, both of which he promised he would continuously work on to improve. But there is one more thing. On top of intellect and skills, he must always be caring, be one who is true to his words, and always remember that first motivation that drives him to help people.

As Kazuki loses altitude, he calls for a Styler recharge from the Magneton he captured earlier, as Minun reaches into its little bag to take out the spare Capture Disk. Kazuki fastens the disc onto his Styler, and just as he is about to land, he fires off the disk to propel himself back with the reaction force.

Watching the Ranger landing safely, the Team Go-Go siblings gasp in disbelief at his tactics. But they have more to worry about. As Minun manages to break the capture lines from their Capture Disks, the energy backflows into their musical instruments and causes them to explode. With that, their control over Deoxys ceases, and the DNA pokemon automatically morphs back into its normal form.

Kazuki knows that it is now or never, and with a determined look, sends out his Capture Disk towards Deoxys. Alas, the DNA pokemon is captured, and Kazuki watches silently as it breaks free from the constraints of Team Go-Go, and begins lifting off into the skies.

At the other side of the Croca Tunnel, Mirai notices Deoxys taking off, and is shock that they have lost control over it. Just then, Plusle manages to break its capture line as well, and the energy backflow explodes Mirai's violin just like her brothers' musical instruments. The bang also knocks Manaphy's egg from her grasp, and Hinata adeptly catches it.

Mirai cries in frustration, and keeps yelling as she runs back to her brothers. Yarai demands to know how Kazuki figured out that Deoxys must be captured in its normal form, and Kazuki grins that his colleague told him, his best companion whom he could always depend on.

Yuuki yells that Kazuki is lying, but Kazuki tells him to go see for himself in midair with his Scyther. Yarai motions that green mantis down to lift himself up, while Mirai clings onto him. As they gain height, the two quickly see the word NORMAL carved out on the ground by Hinata using pokemon assist. Mirai hollers that she thought the Ranger girl was just trying to escape from her all this time, and Yarai knows that they have lost.

Regrouping, the Team Go-Go siblings declare that the next time they meet, Kazuki and all the other Rangers, even the entire Ranger Union, will be eradicated. With that, they disappear in a blast of smoke, and Kazuki rushes over to where Hinata is.

Kazuki asks a goo-covered Hinata if she is Hinata, and the girl grimly nods. He then asks if she is the one who gave him the advice to capture Deoxys, and Hinata gives him the same annoyed response. He finally asks if she is then his companion, and Hinata gives the same response for the third time.

Kazuki then laughs as he thanks her, then picks her up into his arms to carry her. Hinata is at first stunned by what Kazuki does, but decides that she really is tired after running around to create those words with pokemon assist, and lets Kazuki do the walking instead. The two then say their gratitude to the pokemons that have helped them that day, and set them free. Kazuki then notices Deoxys still hovering above them, and is glad that it looks healthy again.

As Kazuki and Hinata watch Deoxys fly away, they wear smiles of content on their faces, as they have finally completed their mission, and are ready to take Manaphy's egg back to Prof. Shinbara's research lab in Fall City.

Later, Kazuki and Hinata support Kamuri on their shoulders, and greet Prof. Shinbara as they enter his lab. Hinata is surpised to see how clean the place is, since it's always been messy as far as she can remember. Prof. Shinbara laughs that it was Iyori who helped him clear up everything, and says the girl is such a genius in sorting out things that he has decided to hire her as his research assistant, much to Kazuki and Hinata's surprise.

Everyone then gathers around Manaphy's egg, and Prof. Shinbara states that he doesn't know how they should hatch the egg, since there has been no previous incidents as such in Fiore. Joe agrees that they have never had anyone raise a pokemon, needless to say hatch one, and Hayate wonders if their skills as a Ranger is enough to do that.

Kazuki recalls that the Team Go-Go siblings have mentioned about hatching the egg for Manaphy, and believes that they would know of a way to hatch it. He wonders if they should catch them once again to ask about it, but Kamuri, while he puts a bun in his mouth, states that they would have already gone to a far away land given the speed of their running.

Suddenly, Prof. Shinbara slaps Kamuri on the back, causing him to drop his buns, and hollers that it is exactly what they need to do. He has heard that on distant lands, there are people known as pokemon trainers who know how to hatch pokemon eggs. All they need to do is send Manaphy's egg to a place where trainers exist.

As everyone ponders on the suggestion, Kazuki wonders where in the world would they find trainers, and suddenly remembers that Iyori comes from such a place. He quickly asks where Iyori originates from, and the girl grins that she was born in a land called Shinou. Prof. Shinbara then decides that it would be Shinou that they send the egg to, and states that they should start recruiting trainers from all across Shinou who would take the egg. The old man swiftly rushes off to start on the business, messing up things in the process, and Erida sweatdrops that the tidiness only lasted for so long.

Kazuki notices that Hinata is wearing a sad look as she looks at Manaphy's egg, and wonders if she is feeling upset that she couldn't meet Manaphy herself. Hinata quickly retaliates that she isn't, and accuses Kazuki of thinking that instead. Kazuki hollers that his has better interests, and the two soon begin arguing.

Meanwhile, Joe receives an incoming request on his Styler, and announces that they have a new urgent mission at hand. He states that the Underground Waterways in Fall City have been plagued with foul smelling Grimers, and bestows the mission to capture the Grimers to Kazuki and Hinata. The two rank 10 Rangers quickly stop their fight, and get into business. Kazuki is glad that they are already in Fall City, and Hinata agrees that as Rangers, they are responsible for helping out people in need. With that, the two dash off to meet their task with their good companions, Plusle and Minun.

Prof. Shinbara and Iyori watch as the two Rangers run off, and the professor remarks that they really love their job. Iyori is grateful that Kazuki and Hinata have safeguarded Manaphy from the evil hands, and tells the egg that they will protect it now, until it meets a trainer in Shinou who would hatch it.

Later, sitting in front of Prof. Shinbara's computer, where he's typing a request letter to trainers in Shinou, Manaphy's egg shimmers with light as Iyori gently sings to it.

'Mana-Mana-Manaphy, see the dream and sleep tight now. Mana-Mana-Manaphy, the cute little Prince of the Sea...'

Thanks for the summary and directions on where to find them on the site, Coronis. I personally find it to be entertaining, though I prefer PokeSpecial still. That's likely because I'm more familiar with those characters, but the Ranger story has always seemed fun to me. I'm wondering how they'll resolve all of it in three more chapters.

^ where it all began
I'm not interested in the Pokemon Ranger game at all, but this manga does actually seem really interesting.

Since it's about Deoxys, I wouldn't be surprised that the Ranger characters somehow met up with the FR/LG characters, or at least be connected in SOME way. On the other hand, there could be more than one Deoxys. We've seen (what could be) more than one legendary Pokemon with the Frontier Brain who had the Raikou and the Raikou from the GSC volumes.

It was confirmed this month that Anabel's Raikou is the same one from Johto. I wouldn't be surprised if they never explain whether this Deoxys is the same one as the one in FR/LG, or they might decide to make it chronologically AFTER FR/LG and make it the same Deoxys...

Actually, chances are this Ranger comic is not related to PokeSpecial at all, since the writers have deliberately avoided using the name PokeSpecial in this comic's title, and simply called it 'Pokemon Ranger, The Comic'.

We don't know if this online comic will eventually be published into tankouban, but even if it does, it most likely won't be collected into the PokeSpecial series. In a way this gives writers more freedom to deal with legendaries without having to care about continuity problems, especially Manaphy since its role in D/P will certainly be different from the Ranger game.

I think they'll just keep it the Manaphy 'egg' though, like in the game, and never show the actual Pokémon, so it's just an item

The second chapter's out today!

Back at the Ranger Base of Ring Town, Hinata showed the Record on Joe's Capture Style to Kazuki. Hinata stated that the three leaders were completely defeated by Deoxys' overwhelming power.

When a Pokemon used an attack which broke the line, the energy will flow back to the Styler and cause damage on it directly. If this keeps repeating, the Styler will eventually be broken.

He explained that Kamuri asked him to meet him at Ring Town's Ranger Base since the Summer Land leader wanted to show him something, but he was not heard ever since. On the other hand, Hinata asked the professor to look after Iyori, who was staying at the Ranger Base and didn't answer to anyone's call. The professor nervously agreed.

Outside the Ranger Base, someone holding onto a drum a "Yuuki" that two Class 10 Rangers had left. Yuuki replied that Mirai had already been waiting near the Croca Tunnel. The drummer the asked if they were going along the plan and meet up at the said tunnel.

But then, Kazuki suddenly grabbed Hinata and jumped forward. As the smoke clears, Deoxys was standing where they had been chatting seconds ago. Deoxys then changed into its Attack form and flied into the Tunnel. Hinata and Kazuki gave chase.

Hinata tried to capture it, but Deoxys turned into Defence form and batted the Dics away. Her second attempt also ended in failure as it changed into Speed form and avoided the Dics. The new voice then introduced herself as Mirai, one of the Team Go-Go's 4 Siblings.

Then a new person appeared, saying they only need to create a distraction to the other leaders as they go and take the energy source. Shinbara. From behind them, another Go-Go Sibling appeared and threw an unconscious Kamuri down to the two Rangers. Before they can approach them, however, Deoxys extended its tentacles and caught them. The 4th sibling appeared to and praised the other three for their good work. Yarai, whom the 3 siblings refered as the "big brother", smirked at the two Rangers with the Manaphy egg in his hand...!!

Very interesting. I'm not a collector of Japanese publications, but I might start collecting them for the sake of improving my Japanese reading. Although since it's not exactly able to be imported, I'll have to wait and see where this goes.

Obrigado pelas imagens de Pokemon ranger the Comic!! Estava mesmo procurando elas!!

Translation:

Thanks for the images of the Pokemon Ranger comic! He looks almost the same!

By the way, the story seems to be about the same as the game...
Have you noticed any differences between the game and this manga?

Is this like a direct adaption or a story in itself?

Pictures of the second chapter added to the first post. Since GladiariaAlata has kindly written the summary for us, I'll simply use it with a few touchups made. The third chapter will be released on 19 May, and there's also a new character bio section on the Fanclub's Ranger comic section. So far, they only have Kazuki's bio, but nothing much we don't know yet. Hinata should be next to receive an update.

zonic the hedgehog - it's hard to tell whether this comic will reflect the true story, because they're featuring the W-mission (Deoxys and Manaphy) which can't be unlocked yet in the game until the 9th movie's premier. Likely, while the major plot is similar, the writers will have a different take on it.

So far, the only inconsistency with the games I can find seems to be the fact that neither Kazuki and Hinata knows who the Team Go-Go Siblings are, since they're supposed to have encountered them already before reaching the Ranger Rank 10.

The end credits of the game also suggested that these 4 have left Team Go-Go and become street musicians, but the Deoxys/Manphy W-mission may really bring them back in the game, so only time will tell.
