Wait hold on how is the Middle East harmful or offensive?

EDIT: Please don't make assumptions on a place you have never visited, I have gone to the Middle East and its a beautiful place to visit especially Egypt with the Pyramids. Nothing is controversial besides what the American media tells you. And FYI if there are controversial things like Religion or Terrorism I am sure they wouldn't include it in a Pokemon game. Just as how they didn't include Street Gangs and drugs in Unova.

I meant as far as place they can visit to do research, the Middle East is a more dangerous place than say Paris and France as a whole on which XY are based (I really hope not to generalize, but that is what I meant)

Alright I see where you are coming from. However only 10-11 years after you know what Gen V was released and based on New York City. Is that harmful? Especially after what happened 10 years ago? I don't think it is. Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar and Kuwait are safe regions.. I think they would look past a kids game honestly (Not to say Pokemon is a kids game but many kids play Pokemon and wouldn't tell the difference).

EDIT: Also New York is prone to many terrorist attacks. Especially New York City.

You're right, there have been numerous threats to New York over the years and that was not a deterrent, but turmoil in the Middle East seems to be an on going problem. If I am wrong in saying so, I apologize in advance, and I hope that you tell me.

I think a UK based region would complement Kalos really well. I could imagine them recreating famous London icons and also the more rural parts of the land as well. I wonder what the legends of this region would be like.

Lol I was afraid I'd get this comment. I don't think its that controversial. The Middle East is beautiful I honestly don't know what could offend somebody.

Well take into account that Game Freak and Nintendo will often look to real life animals or even mythical creatures to create ideas for Pokemon.

Now most of us don't have an issue with this, but the Middle East is very sensitive on what can be used or depicted.

That is what I meant by the possible offense. Think about what the game series has already gone through. PETA related remarks. Debates on whether the game is teaching kids more about Darwinian Evolution than Creationism. Pokemon is no stranger to having being considered "offensive" in some manner.

I'm not sure I want a reason for Bibarel to make a return as handy as he was for surfing in Sinnoh...

I know we've seen 4 generations in a region based off of Japan, but I really want to see another region that takes after the traditional Japan aspect that Johto had. Other than that it would be pretty cool to see a heavily wooded region. Like the mountains of the south around TN and NC.

I was thinking about a region based off of Antarctica. Snow everywhere. Igloos everywhere. Winter clothes.

I know some areas of the regions have this but I would like to see a mainly tropical region. And seeing how Nintendo/Gamefreak is releasing the games, I would prefer to play a tropical game in the winter haha.

Until you encountered Tentacool with every step you took, then it becomes frustrating.

I don't mind whatever region we get, though there have been good ideas from the other users.

If the strange souvenir is of any indication, Asia or Oceania seem like my best bets.

But anyways. Maybe something based off of an island chain like Indonesia. Better yet, maybe have a region based off of Spain, Switzerland, Belgum, Germany, England/Ireland, or Italy to compliment Kalos

Africa, Mexico, or Australia are good candidates too

Yeah but thats take a big bite out of your PokeWallet especially if you have Sapphire towards the ending of the game. Plus its repetitive.

When almost the entire region is flooded with water, I don't think surfing becomes fun. No wonder my sceptile was level 100 by the end of the game.

Anyways I think an interesting region would be like a US City like Chicago. Maybe somewhere in California. South America would be an interesting place to set a Pokemon game in.

How will it get repetitive? It doesn't have to be one right after another. Thats why i mentioned different areas such as Canada which would be closer to Unova (New york) or some other region that would be in the American midwest or west coast

I was thinking that maybe you could go to an uncharted land, being sent to explore it by someone. It could be like a paradise, with massive waterfalls and forests and maybe mountains, and, instead of towns, you could meet ancient tribes and their civilisations. Just a thought.
