• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Recent Happenings Thread

Doing Their Best
Currently farming the Ditto raids to hopefully get the one with 6 perfect IVs. In the process I was able to get a few with good natures (Adamant, Timid, Jolly, Impish and Bold). A newly hatched Fuecoco with only Leer makes the farming process a breeze (Ditto may get one-shotted if you roll allies that are SE against its Tera type).

First attempt, 6IV English ditto. It’s great to get one for sure, I just wish it was a foreign language one!

Would using foreign language Pokemon with an English ditto still allow us to reduce the odds for a shiny in an egg?

Yes, the foreign language Pokemon does not necessarily have to be a Ditto.

Nice! I got mine on the 2nd attempt.

I was trying to get to a raid spot for Ditto, but this group of wild Gastly kept sneaking on me in that annoying way that when you leave a battle another immediately triggers because there is a pokemon exactly where you are standing. I was stuck in 6 battles in a row like this, when I finally got out I just sent my pokémon to kill them on auto battle mode out of spite.
But it didn't matter how many times I tried to make it attack the Haunter leader, it kept refusing. It took me too long to understand what was going on and now I am happy those little Gastly kept bugging me because a shiny Haunter is nearly impossible to spot (on the other hand, it looks so much like the usual thing that you have to wonder what is even the point of having the shiny).

I've been going on a ditto hunt. being the host, I have to use my weakest Pokemon and sometimes I use my second switch and use a stronger Pokemonfor an easy victory.
been hunting for a 6 star and so far, founded 1

I had an outbreak of Dunsparce today, so I spent ages catching and evolving them to see if I could get a Three-Segment Dudunsparce. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful, but I now have 30 spare Two-Segment Dudunsparce if anyone wants one.

Just yesterday, I ran into a shiny Psyduck.

Funny thing is that a few days before, I saw some and remembered when the anime featured the shiny form. Funny thing.

Some days before that, I managed to find a Gogoat too

when I finally got out I just sent my pokémon to kill them on auto battle mode out of spite.

I do that a lot as well. It's what they deserve for being such a bother :p

Makes me wonder is there were any shinies I've missed duo there being no sound effect for a spawn.

Thank you to anyone who replied to my last post here about my team, but I decided to restart anyway and try again with a slightly different team! It just felt right, and I am having a lot more fun through doing so. I'm only up to Titan Klawf (I have not defeated it yet) but I have a full team and I'm more accepting of being a little bit over-levelled, which is cool! I just didn't capture many (or any) new Pokemon aside from the tutorial Lechonk, the Squawkabilly on top of the player's house, a shiny Lechonk I found on my way to Mesagoza, a Ralts with Trace (to make sure my team have optimal abilitie) and then my team.

Speaking of my team - Pawmi has been replaced with Banksy the Shroodle, Paldean Wooper has been replaced with Colossus the Nacli, and Greavard has been replaced with Stormbird the Wattrel! They're all pretty solid team members compared to their previous members. Nacli has been a tanky lad that I can switch into most opponents if needed, Wattrel makes my major Ground type weakness a lot more manageable (especially that trainer's Mudbray on the way to Cortondo) and Shroodle is honestly pretty strong? Acid Spray spam is great, then Poison Fang spam is even better. Just a shame it doesn't learn Swift since Acid Spray + Swift would be a solid combo. I kept Fuecoco as my starter and Maschiff + Tinkatink stayed on the team as well - Fuecoco is my favourite starter and I love him, Maschiff is really strong which genuinely surprises me and Tinkatink has a godly typing. It's a rad team, I hope it continues.

Anywho, only major boss fight I've completed is Katy who was even easier than the last time I fought her. Wattrel 2HKOed Nymble with Air Cutter + Spark, Tarountula fell to Nacli's Smack Down and Fuecoco Terastallized against her Teddiursa and one-shot with Incinerate before evolving. That's pretty much it? Nothing else to report.

I don't remember all the natures unfortunately, or their genders actually! I think one of them has a Quirky nature? Maybe? Shroodle is female, Maschiff is male, Wattrel is... no clue. Next post I'll update it.

Tinkatink is 100% female. No male Tinkatink exist.

Just got the last Gym Badge. The 8th badge was a bit of a challenge with Beartic being able to attack two times in a row.

Working on training and item gathering tonight.

Around 90 hours of gameplay so far.

Just found and caught a Shiny female Lechonk. I just saw one walking around next to me and noticed it was pink and so I initiated a battle to catch her. Her name is now Miss Piggy.

Well since my last post I've beaten Titan Klawf and won my second gym badge against Brassius! I can also now confirm the genders and natures of my team, and honestly it looks like I lucked out! Lots of neutral natures and a nice 50:50 split male to female, which I do appreciate.

Klawf was beaten by Tinkatink - Flash Cannon 2HKOed it the first time around whilst we took minimal damage from Rock Smash, whilst in round 2 we... pretty much did the exact same thing except 3HKOing instead. Arven's Shellder did nothing except spam Leer and tank a couple of hits for us, so was essentially useless. Brassius was just as easy, but we were 3 levels higher than his team. Petilil fell to Maschiff's Bite (also discovered Own Tempo blocks Intimidate, which is neat), Smoliv got one-shot by Shroodle's Poison Fang and Crocalor took to the field once again to Terastallize and 2HKO with Incinerate! An easy win for my slightly over-levelled team.

So I tried to get into the Pokémon centre at the excel London today. My slot was at 2pm but my work lunch hours changed so I tried to see if I could get in any earlier. No dice, absolutely packed. Three hour wait to get from the holding queue to the queue to get into the excel! So I’m heading home, sad! Never mind. I couldn’t get in last year either. I think I’ll give these events a miss in future.

OK, now I'm really angry with the Mystery Gift feature. I've tried in both of my save files to get the special distribution Palafin, both times when I put in the code, it said the server was busy and to try again, which it did before with the Zoroark distribution, and when I tried again it rejected the code because it's single use only. I don't know if it's an issue with Mystery Gift itself or my own Internet connection, but that's two Mystery Gift Pokemon I've missed out on because of this. It's odd too because I managed to get the recent Flying Tera Lechonk with no issue, so I'm guessing it's just gifts that require a code. And seeing as we STILL don't have Pokemon Home support six months after the games came out, I can't delete either of my save files and start a fresh one to try the code again without losing all of the Pokemon I want to transfer out and keep.

That absolutely sucks. Sorry to hear that. So frustrating. Have you sent an email to Nintendo support for this?
