• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Recent Happenings Thread

Managed to trade one of my dupe Zamazentas from PoGo for a Miraidon. Now, I finally got a complete living dex.

Only waiting to find out which Pokémon are being allowed to exist in the DLC before buying a subscription so my living dex is all in one place.

I did that too. Threw up a Zamazenta and got a Miraidon within SECONDS.

Tried clearing some space from my Scarlet boxes by moving some mons to Sword and Arceus.

Also, finally evolved my Scarlet Oshawott into Hisuian Samurott.

I did that too. Threw up a Zamazenta and got a Miraidon within SECONDS.

For me it took some time. I tried using a dupe Mewtwo from PoGo. I think I managed to do it like in the second day after the update.

I've finished the main story in Violet, but before I start the Gym rematches I'm going to spend some time beating Water Tera Raids so I can gather enough Tera Shards to change my Vaporeon's Tera type to Water, right now I'm up to 17 shards, so I still have a long way to go.
I noticed a glitch I had never seen before, in a couple of major battles some pokemon's mouths just hang open like their jaws are broken. I first saw it with Clavell's Oranguru, and then again with Nemona's Lycanroc at the end of the Victory Road story.

I just spent the last few days heading towards Cortondo. I managed to get lower level doubles of my older pokémon like Flapple & Urshifu & it’s been fun battling & spending time with them (in a way). I’ve also been stocking up on items & rare pokéballs to make up for starting a new game.

However, when I took on the Cortondo gym, I ended up losing to Katy. I underestimated the strength of Teddiursa’s Fury Cutters and she took down my Fuecoco before I could finish her off. Now I’m debating on whether to do some training and try challenging her again, or take on Brassius first and challenge Katy later.

Main Team:
  • Julio (Fuecoco) lv 12
  • Arantxa (shiny Tarountula) lv. 11

Current Reserves:
  • Bryony (Flapple) lv. 11
  • Hamish (Rapid Strike Urshifu) lv. 13
  • Kobi (Teddiursa) lv. 13

I've finally started Violet and I'm just loving it already. I've defeated Katy, Klawf & Bombirdier. I'm gonna do Brassius and the Team Star Dark Base next and then just focus on catching some new gen Pokemon for my Living Dex and battling some trainers before taking on the Team Star Fire Base. I do want to take my time with the game though as it's my first playthrough.

My Violet Team:

-Cloyster
-Scovillain
-Kilowattrel
-Persian
-Florges
-Venomoth

What's blowing my mind though is, my Florges (white flower) that I'm using was caught in Kalos almost 10 years ago and has just sat in Bank and then Home and now I'm using it in a game. It's crazy cool to think we can actually do something like this.

Update: The team is all around level 30-31, they are all now fully evolved.

I've also defeated the Team Star Dark Base, Brassius, Iono, Orthworm & the Team Star Fire Base. I'm gonna catch some more new gen Pokemon and level my team up a little bit more with some trainer battles in the Asado Desert before taking on Kofu.

Changed my team a bit and now I have a pseudo-mono-fighting team.

Line up is: Chesnaught, Cinderace, H.Samurott, Pawmot, Gallade and Koraidon (or Kommo-o if it's allowed to exist in the DLC)

The reason I call it pseudo is because the plan is having Cinderace become fighting-type via Libero and H.Samurott has fighting tera.

Might try an actual mono fighting team if Infernape makes the cut.

I’ve just defeated Kofu, I used my Scovillain and Kilowattrel. He was pretty easy and even though none of the water types really appealed to me this gen (water is my favourite type) I could definitely see myself using a Veluza at some point for a game in the future.

I also must be really lucky as I was able to find two Glimmet in the caves near the Orthworm Titan fight. I thought they were pretty rare to appear but I found them in no time at all. The same with the Aqua Breed Taurus, I find him pretty quickly too.

I’m not really sure what to do next. Possibly focus on levelling up for the Team Star Poison Base and then the Normal Type Gym.

I’ve been catching the new gen Pokémon for my Living Dex for Pokémon Home and I nearly have them all caught, not much more to catch. I was thinking of evolving them all before I do Area Zero, once I get to that part anyway. I currently have around 433 Gimmighoul coins too which isn’t too bad.

With home trading now available got a Flutter Mane in exchange for an Iron Jugulis. It took barely anytime at all.

It’s amazing what you can find on Home right now. Looks like Ursaluna and Gholdengo are hot ticket items. Traded one of each for a couple shinies. So see what you can get for those if you have them.

Nice. Been having a hard time getting a Walking Wake. Missed out on the event. Put up a Suicune.

I just took on the Titan Klawf last night. My H-Electrode was able to weaken it with Chloroblast while my Tarountula took it out with a Tera-powered Lunge. I’ve been EV training it’s Defense & Attack ever since losing to Katie & while I had to use an X Defense & I could’ve lost if it used Rock Tomb, it was still great to see my Tarountula get a win.

From what I’ve seen, people will only trade Walking Wake/Iron Leaves for Pokémon that you can’t easily get extras of like Koraidon, Miraidon, or the Galarian Birds

Just received a Gholdengo for a spare lvl 75 Ceruledge from a HOME app trade. Whoever that Scarlet player was that was looking for a version exclusive pokemon, thanks.

Now i don't have to look for more 600 Gimmighoul coins :p

Well that's not gonna happen. Since I don't own Scarlet, it was a rental. So I'm keeping my Koraidon. As for the rest... I won't be trading mine away.

Not exactly a fair set up for anyone who wasn't able to get any from the event and may not always have time for a second play through of a game.

Going to try with Shield on a second account for another Kubfu hopefully, but it depends on if I can use Home with it.

Hoping that they rerun the event.

I'm sure Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be made available again, their Pokedex entries in Pokemon Home just say "Ecology Under Analysis", which to me sounds like a placeholder. It could be another Tera event, or they could have a role in the DLC's story, either way we definitely haven't seen the last of these two.

I've started a new Scarlet playthrough, choosing Sprigatito as my starter again. I'm up to the front gates of Mezagoza and have my usual temporary early game team of Pawmi, Lechonk, Fletchling and Wooper. For this playthrough I'm going to use a Hisuian Zorua I received in a trade as one of my main team members, but I'll only add it after maybe the third gym because of how quickly traded Pokemon level up. My other planned main team members are Tinkaton, Mudsdale, Armarouge and Palafin, I will have to ask someone on here for help evolving Finizen once it gets to the right level, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

THE TIMED OLIVE ROLL IS TRULY THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE IN ALL OF SCARLET AND VIOLET! I’ve been at this for almost a half hour and I still can’t get this thing up the final ramp!!!

Transferred some Pokemon from Home over into Violet. Did a bit of training. Might do some more tomorrow. Gonna try for the Electric badge.

I got my first hacked Shiny Surprise trade in Scarlet (which I released), but on the plus side, I also got a (legitimate) Hidden Ability Froakie, which I've never had before. I also managed to participate in someone else's online raid for the first time, and got myself a Hidden Ability Veluza.

Really? I keep clearing the challenge in less than a minute. I found the Sunflora Finding challenge a bit harder to do as some of them are hidden in some really random and obscure places like in an alley that you would normally never go through as there’s really nothing of value there or underneath that one structure in a corner that you need to move the camera to see.
