I caught the last two minutes of the direct. I guess I was partially right; info on Pokemon Home & Sleep, but I definitely didn't see an expansion pass coming.
I usually don't mind DLC when its obvious that it had to be built and wasn't originally in the game before (like the characters being added for Smash brothers), but for Pokemon, all of these pokemon (with the exception of brand new ones) have been in before, so making them 'extra content' seems dirty to me. Its obvious that they just didn't have enough time to get everything done this generation (since the areas aside from the Wild Area were lacking) and these passes are adding pokemon and areas that were probably meant for the original game itself. Now they get to just profit off things that were supposed to be in, but they didn't have time for.
It seems especially disingenuous because its being announced only 2 months after the game's release. This game probably would have been fully ready and done in 2020; it wasn't meant for 2019 release.
