Well, the amended complaint never says the person signed a NDA, only that he knew the unreleased strategy-guide images were "trade secrets."

By March 26, they knew the person's identity.

Oooo yeah. The employee definitely leaked info about the games and this isn’t good for him. I have the strategy book and I can easily recognize the leaked images being lifted directly from the guide. He is definitely not going to win this case.

Weird question for everyone; I know the over-world sprites of pokemon won't show up as shiny in Sword/Shield, but will those pokemon themselves ever be shiny?

I've been hunting for a Shiny Rolycoly (one of my favorite lines this gen) and have had over 600 defeated since this morning, but never once saw one today. I've been circling back and forth hitting the over world ones that continuously spawn (since they're the only thing that spawn in the grass patch just before that gemstone minecart cave) and must've been through around 500 (after having already reached over 600 defeated mind you) without seeing a single shiny. I know the chances aren't 100%, but you'd think after seeing 500+, and with a 3% chance, I would have seen at least one by now.

So, was just curious if the ones that actually pop up visible in the wild are even capable of being shiny.

Alright thanks; just gotta keep at it then I guess. I binge watched all of Steins; Gate while hunting this thing.
You're welcome. Good luck.

If you’ve defeated the 500+ then go ahead and start a chain encounter defeating that Pokémon 25+ times. If you have the shiny charm that should increase your chances to about 1/460 which includes the 3% chance to reroll your shiny encounter. Shiny hunting is always tedious but sometimes it’s worth waiting for. Happy hunting!

Alright, will do; thanks.

I don't have the shiny charm, but I figured the 1/600 chance was good enough lol.

I watched something the other day that said that once you hit that 500+ number, a chain was no longer needed and you can then just run from every battle. So is it safe to assume now tat keeping a chain going every now and then refreshes the chances or something?

The sources I was reading the other day stated that chaining still worked. Finding shinies is always tedious because each encounter has the 1/~600 of being shiny. For that reason I try to stay away from shiny hunting unless it’s a Pokémon that has a cool shiny form.

Just get the chain going and hope for the best. Since it’s mostly luck based you could be looking for weeks (I usually give up before then) or minutes (luck is on your side). That’s all you can do.

I've never really shiny hunted either (aside from Chain fishing in X/Y because it was easier and fairly quick), but I plan on restarting as soon as the DLC drops and I wanted to get a Shiny RolyColy because I like the blueish hue it has and I like that pokemon line.

It's just so tedious and I've got other games I want to play that I may just end up saying 'screw it' and I'll just build the chain again on the next run lol.

Battle Tower question:

I got into Master Ball tier and it seems the amount of battles before facing Leon is not consistent?

At the start shows 33 victories. On my 6th battle I lose to Leon, victories now say 40. Didn't save the game. Then when faced Leon in a 5th battle and won, victories now say 44. I definitely know I did not hit 44 victories from 33, making 11 wins.

I looked at both the site's page on the Gen 8 battle tower as well as the Bulbapedia, and neither of them show how many wins per tier until you face Leon.

But prior to the Master Ball it seemed consistent to me.

So what also ticks me off is the counter for victories. This Battle Tower has bugs. Or maybe I didn't upgrade to a latest patch fix. I will take my Nintendo Switch to a wi-fi hotspot Wednesday to download DLC, so maybe new stuff will be fixed (no wi-fi at home).

I think the way it works is the counter displays how many battles you’ve played, not how many you’ve won so losing will still add 1 to the total. Leon I believe appears every 11 battles regardless of whether you win or lose.

Overall the Battle Tower is garbage in this game and by far the biggest disappointment in SwSh for me. There’s no challenge, if you want to keep track of how well your team is doing you have to manually count yourself, after you reach Master Ball rank on both Singles and Doubles BP rates become abysmal as you only ever get 2 per battle (even Leon only gives 2), Leon showing up so often gets boring very quickly and there’s nothing you can do to prevent it, and the much smaller pool of available Pokémon means there’s way less variety on the Pokémon you’ll face.

I really hope the DLC gives us a REAL Battle Tower like we had in previous games. I much prefer building up a streak and seeing how long I can go without losing.

Yea, I think you don't exactly start over if you save over a loss, for the tier. Which is why Leon appears at say on a 4th or 5th.

Hopefully the DLCs will increase the national pokedex. And after the Crown Tundra, either a new Battle Tower or updated Battle Tower.

Trying to get a Larvitar in a Love Ball so I can start the DLC with Tyranitar. My plan, depending on how the DLC works, is to start completely fresh, and I decided that I want to use Tyranitar as my, "Starter".

Hopefully someone with Shield can help me get one before the DLC drops.

From the information that was posted on the main site recently levels on Isle of Armour apparently scale with your progress in the main portion of the game. Unfortunately this may not bode well with those wanting to start "fresh" for the DLC.

It will still be fresh regardless. Just means you need to level up to scale, which is, what, 60?

Maybe that's why they had an event for 100 (or however many it was) EXP Candy Ls, so people would be able to take brand new teams into the Isle of Armor without it taking forever to level them up

That's not what it says. It scales with the highest level of the first Pokémon in your party.

During our 30-minute hands-off preview of Pokemon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor DLC, we noticed that the first trainer battle were around level 60 - the same as the highest level Pokémon in the trainer's party.

We asked Nintendo product marketing specialist Demetrius Boggs if this meant level scaling was in place, and he confirmed that Pokemon Sword and Shield's Expansion Pass area's trainers and wild Pokemon will in fact scale with your own Pokemon levels. Specifically, Boggs confirmed the DLC areas would even scale to match a team of level 100 Pokemon

coupled with:

Not only that, but these areas can be accessed as soon as you reach the Wild Area of Pokémon Sword and Shield, just a few hours into the games.

https://www.ign.com/articles/pokemon-sword-and-shields-dlc-expansion-has-level-scaling

We don't know where in the progress of playing The Isle of Armor the game takes this "reading" of your Pokémon levels, or whether it re-scales constantly, or any of the minute details that we won't get until it's in hand on Wednesday, but at this preliminary stage, the takeaway seems to be that you can traverse the DLC with whatever stage party you like.

I just hope you won't get too high leveled during the Isle of Armor. I'd like to use Urshifu and Venusaur on my in game team, but I'd rather not have to bench them for a gym or two until their levels match that of the main game.

Yeeaah, they're clearly gearing this franchise to go full open world in a generation or two. They're trending towards more open ended design like the Wild Area, now level scaling? Those are some of the major pieces of the puzzle in making an open world Pokemon game work. I think they're using the DLC as an opportunity to experiment more with open world design and slowly transition the series in that direction. It's slower than I'd like, but it does seem like that's where the series is heading.
