A new girl in town

A worn out, rusty truck drove on a bumpy, sandy road. The truck passed some evergreen forests. The sun was shining brightly and the sky was clear, then a village came into view. In the village stood a lot of trees. Some were bigger and stronger, than the others, on those trees wooden houses with straw roofs were built. Those houses were interconnected by wooden bridges and stairs, inhabitants must always watch out that they didn’t fall off the stairs.

“We almost reached Fortree city.” the woman smiled happily, she drove the car. “We made a long trip, I am tired.”

“Don’t let the truck crash into a tree.” the old man joked as he sat beside the woman, his very own daughter.

“I wonder how the kids are doing back there?” the woman asked a bit worried.

“They will be fine.” the old man laughed.

“I hope we reach it soon, I am tired of sitting in this old truck.” The other man
muttered, a bit annoyed.

“Please, I want to have a pleasant ride till we reach our new home.” The woman replied.

In de back of the truck two children were sleeping peacefully on a soft sofa, that stood beside a closet. The girl slept soundlessly, while the boy snored very loud. A box that stood on the rim of the closet fell off, and landed on the floor with a loud thud. The girl woke up because of the sound and got off from the sofa. She saw her brother still sleeping and snoring.

“Hmm...I wonder what made the truck stop?” she thought.

Suddenly the car stopped. Because of the sudden stop the girl lost her balance and fell on the floor. The girl got up, and picked up the box. She walked towards the closet and placed the box back on the closet, however another box that stood on the ground, slowly slid towards the girl and quickly gained speed. The girl picked up another box and tried to set it back on the closet, but the other box bumped into her and she lost her balance, but the box that she was holding, landed hard on her brother.

“Ouch...what was that?” the boy fumed angrily. “You probably threw that box to me.”

“No, I didn’t...!” she yelled, but suddenly the truck stopped again, both children lost their balance again and they fell on the floor. The door opened and in the opening stood their mother, smiling warmly.

“We’re finally here, Hanako, Masaaki, please come with me, we’re going to our new house.” she said smiling, as she walked on a sandy path towards a tree. There were stairs on the tree that could be used for climbing the trees.

“Akira!” an old man yelled. “Wait for me, please!”

“Oh, sorry dad, I totally forgot about you, you see, I was a little exited.” Akira apologised, a little embarrassed. “Okay, where is Mr. Yoshikazu, anyway?”

“I am here, I thought, Mr. Takeo would find you, so I quickly followed him.” Mr. Yoshikazu replied a bit annoyed because the others had already left. As he quickly followed, he thought he saw a girl out of the corner of his eye, he quickly turned around but didn’t see anybody.

“Strange.” Mr. Yoshikazu thought wondering, maybe it was only his imagination. However when the group continued climbing the stairs a rope fell and the girl came down. She then quickly threw her rope up in the air and it swung a few times around a tree branch. The rope was tied tightly, and she quickly climbed up the rope so she could keep sight of the group.

The new houses were the group would live from now on were very high, almost on the top of the tree. Hanako who had a feeling that someone was watching them, turned around, because she thought she heard something. She walked over to the rim of the platform and she saw a pink scarf lying on the wooden floor. The girl that had lost her scarf looked down at Hanako. Hanako observed the area but didn’t see anybody. She then looked up and saw the girl sitting on a high tree branch.

“Everybody, someone is spying on us!” Hanako screamed at the top of her lungs.

“Damn, I am spotted, I have to flee for now.” The girl muttered angrily as she swung her rope towards another tree branch. She then tied the other end of the rope to another tree branch. The girl then jumped on the rope and she walked over it. Then, suddenly everyone heard a scream from a tree nearby. A boy had fallen over the rim of the platform.

“Taro!” the girl screamed as she jumped off the rope, to save the boy.

“Look, that girl had jumped off the rope in order to save that boy!” Hanako shouted worried.

The girl succeeded in grabbing the boy, but was now falling down with him, into the depth.

“There is one plus point to this, my family won’t blame me anymore,” the girl joked sad.

“Chikorita, you have to help me, come on out!” Hanako screamed angry as she threw a round, red sphere to the ground. It burst open and a green creature appeared. It had dark green seeds on its neck, and a bright green leaf on its head.

“Chikorita, use your vine whip to catch that girl!” Hanako ordered. Two of chikoritas seeds extended into two green whips, which it used to catch the falling girl, and save it from a certain death. Chikorita then lifted them up and gently put them on the platform.

“Great job chikorita, return.” Hanako thanked her pokemon happily.

<Always there to help you> the chikorita said happily.

The chikorita had turned into energy and was then sucked inside the ball, she put the ball back on the belt and walked towards the girl that was spying on them earlier. However when she almost reached the girl, a cloud of dust appeared on the stairs and then rushed towards her. Hanako was a bit shocked at first, but quickly figured that this woman must be the mother of the girl and the boy.

“Hello I am the mother of Emiko and Taro, and I can’t thank you enough, for saving them.” The woman cried happily. “Is there anything I can do to thank you?”

“Uh...maybe you can....” Hanako tried to say but was interrupted by her mother.

“Well, yes, actually you can help us.” Akira interrupted. “Maybe you would like to help us a bit with getting our furniture up here, you see we just moved in, and everything is still in the truck.”

“My pleasure!” the woman shouted as she ran towards the stairs and then ran off.

Hanako was still a bit confused about this lady, she wondered how that woman could run so fast, the woman really didn’t look very athletic. The woman was a bit eccentric. She then decided to talk to the girl and her brother, and she walked over to them.

“Hi, my name is Hanako.” Introducing herself, she still wondered why the girl would spy on her, so she decided to ask. “I kind of want to know, why did you spy on us?”

“Sorry, some times I am a bit suspicious of new people.” She laughed embarrassed. “By the way my name is Emiko, and thanks for saving me and my brother.”

“Well, you are pretty athletic, how do you do that?” Hanako asked curious.

“I am just very good at athletics.” Emiko said smiling. “Do you have two pokemon, we could have a battle?”

“Yes I do, but I don’t really want to battle.” Hanako replied sad. “And I don’t really have any experience with pokemon battles.”

“Oh, okay, maybe tomorrow?” Emiko asked joyfully. “I’ll bring my friends too, bye!”

Emiko then jumped up towards the tree branch, were her rope still hung. She jumped on it and walked to the other tree, like this Emiko, came farther and farther, ‘till she disappeared in the tree branches of the evergreen trees of Fortree city.

Hanako walked back disappointed towards their houses and joined the group again. The group was inspecting their houses a bit, and found them very well looking. Then a cloud of dust appeared again, and Hanako figured that the cloud of dust was probably the mother of Emiko and Taro, bringing the furniture to their houses.

“Here you go, your furniture.” the woman smiled as she dropped the furniture. “Glad to be of service to the savers of my son and daughter, but now I’ve got to go, my children are waiting for me.” She replied happily as she rushed off again.

Hanako thought the woman was weird, but anyhow she still liked her, and she helped with the furniture. Akira then asked if she could help her with the furniture or if she wanted to explore the town a bit. Hanako didn’t want to help with the furniture, and so she quickly ran off to explore the town.

When she rushed down the stairs she saw a bird-like pokemon that flew by. Its skin had the colour of a clear, blue sky, its wings however were like tiny rain clouds. The pokemon flew happily but suddenly, it was angered when it saw Hanako. Hanako was confused by this pokemon, she wondered why it was angered all of a sudden. It flew to Hanako and used one of its wings to get a spot of dirt off her cheek. It then flew further happily, while Hanako was still confused because of what happened. Suddenly a rope fell down, close to Hanako.

“Hey, Hanako.” Emiko greeted happily, who came down from the rope. “I finished my homework sooner than I thought, so I thought ‘why not to visit Hanako’.”

“Hi Emiko.” Hanako replied happily, somehow Emiko let her feel happy and cheerful. “What was your homework?”

“Oh, some things about flying pokemon....” Emiko explained bored, but was interrupted by a voice.

“Emi!” a boy shouted that came running towards Emiko and Hanako. “We tried to find you, but you had already disappeared into the trees, we had to run pretty fast, Kenshin even ran in a fat woman.” The boy explained, laughing.

“Oops, sorry, poor Kenshin how is he feeling now?” Emiko laughed. “I wanted to introduce you guys to my new friend.” Emiko explained as she pointed at Hanako.

“Here I am.” A boy shouted angrily, but suddenly he tripped over a rock and fell. “...On the ground!”

The whole group burst out in laughter when he made that comment. Emiko then introduced her friends, Kenshin and Kenta to Hanako, while Hanako introduced herself to the others. They decided to walk towards their school, which was a long walk. When they arrived Hanako panted, but Kenshin, Kenta and Emiko were anything but tired.

“How do you guys keep fit like this, with such a long way to school?” Hanako asked while she panted. “And why is the school on the outskirts of the town?”

“Well, we all are kind of used to this long walk, and because of al the trees in the town we had to built the school here.” Emiko smiled. “Look, there swim some feebas in the lake.”

The school was built near a lake and Emiko saw a pair of feebas jump out of the water. Feebas were a bit ugly, had a brown skin that had dark brown spots on its body, its fins however were clear blue like the sky. Feebas were pokemon that were rumoured to evolve into the beautiful milotic, a pokemon that was said to be able to calm emotions like anger and sadness.

“Emiko, I had encountered a bird-like pokemon that was angry because I had a spot of dirt on my face, just before you appeared, and I want to know which pokemon it was, do you know it?” Hanako asked curious.

“How did it look?” Emiko asked smiling.

“Its body had the colour of a clear, blue sky, but its wings were like tiny rain clouds.” Emiko said as she tried to remember what the pokemon looked like.

“I think it was a swablu, these pokemon hate dirt, and they will do everything to keep things clean.” Emiko happily explained. “Didn’t you learn about pokemon on school?”

“No, I did go to school but the pokemon of the flying type that I had learnt were pidgey, murkrow, skarmory, delibird, hoothoot, pidgeotto, natu, xatu, pidgeot, doduo and dodrio.” Hanako said as she tried to remember the pokemon that she had learned. “I never have heard of a pokemon called ‘swablu’.”

“We have never heard of those pokemon, except for doduo, dodrio, natu, skarmory and xatu.” Kenta replied confused. “Wait, from which region did you come?”

“I come from Jotho, why?” Hanako answered.

“Oh, you aren’t from this region, so that’s why you had a pokemon I never had heard of.”
Emiko shouted exited. “Can you send it out again, please?”

“Uh, okay, chikorita come on out.” Hanako said as she threw her pokeball, it burst open with a flash and the chikorita was before their eyes again.

<Who do I have to save now?> the chikorita asked determined.

“You don’t have to rescue anyone chikorita, oh, by the way, these are my new friends.” Hanako said embarrassed. “They were a bit curious about you, so they asked me to let you out.”

“Wow, you can understand it?” Emiko asked excited. “On our school they say you have to be specially gifted to understand a pokemon.”

“Nice, I wish I could already try it, but I don’t have any pokemon yet.” Kenta said disappointed. “Kenshin and Emi are lucky, they can talk to their pokemon but haven’t tried it yet.”

“I don’t feel experienced enough yet.” Emiko protested. “I am a bit jealous of you, Hanako, you can already communicate with your chikorita.”

“Oh, but I have another pokemon than chikorita.” Hanako said happily. “I guess you don’t know this one either but, sunkern come on out!” Hanako shouted as she threw her other pokeball, and just like the one before, it burst open in a flash.

The pokemon that appeared was tiny and looked a bit like a seed, it was bright yellow, it had brown stripes that ran vertically across its body, it had black beady eyes and on its head it had a short stem with on the end two green leaves.

“How cute, what is it called?” Emiko asked starry eyed.

“It is called a sunkern, it is a grass type and it evolves with a sunstone.” Hanako explained. “Do you find sunstones in...uh, what’s this region called?”

“Hi there sunkern, and this region is called Hoenn.” Emiko informed her. “Oh, why shouldn’t we let out our pokemon and let them play with those of Hanako.”

“Great idea, Emiko!” Kenshin shouted. “Let’s go, swablu and mukkurru!”

Kenshin threw both pokeballs and they exploded with a flash. The first one was swablu, the bird that Hanako had already seen once, but the second one, Hanako had never heard of. It had a grey body colour, but its face was white. It had a little beak, of which the top was black, its tiny wings were also grey. It had a white belly, tiny feet and a black and white tail.

“These birds are cute, I already like this region, in the Jotho region you couldn’t find birds this cute.” Hanako said starry eyed.

“Well, actually, the mukkurru is a new discovered species and it isn’t from this region, it comes from the Shinou region, and it’s still being studied.” Kenshin explained.

“Now it’s my turn, go plusle and minun!” Emiko shouted exited as she threw her pokeballs.

They burst open and two mouse-like pokemon appeared. They were both bright yellow, however there were differences, the first one had red cheeks with a plus symbol on them while the second one had blue cheeks with a minus symbol. Their tails were also different, the first one’s tail was red and had the shape of a plus, while the second one’s tail was blue and had the shape of a minus. Their ears were long, but the colour of the tips of their ears was different, the first one’s tips were red, while the second one’s were blue.

“How cute!” Hanako screamed like a fan girl.

“Plusle, minun, I like to introduce you to our newest friend, Hanako, she also has two pokemon, so please make friends with them.” Emiko smiled. “They are called sunkern and chikorita.”

Plusle and minun quickly ran over to sunkern and chikorita, some time later mukkurru and swablu joined them as well, the group of pokemon then started talking.

<Hey, you are probably the new ones> plusle greeted.

<Yes, we are> chikorita replied a bit annoyed. <We have made a very long trip, you know>

<Yes, we came to here, all from Jotho, I am sure tired> sunkern yawned. <Well, I am a bit sleepy so, see you tomorrow, I guess.....>

<The first one has already dozed off, good start> mukkurru said sarcastic.

<It’s tired, let it sleep, it has to get back its health> swablu protested.

“Swablu, mukkurru, we are going home, say goodbye to your new friends quickly, or we’ll be late.” Kenshin said annoyed.

<See you tomorrow, chikorita, sunkern> swablu smiled happily.

<Yeah, yeah, bye> mukkurru murmured bored.

“Return mukkurru, return swablu.” Kenshin shouted as red lasers shot out of the pokeballs, turned mukkurru and swablu into energy and sucked them inside the pokeballs. “Bye, Emi!”

Kenshin then quickly ran off, back to Fortree city. After a while he disappeared into the woods. And the group was still left there, talking a bit. Hanako found it a bit strange that Kenshin ran off like that. But it didn’t bother her very much.

“Hey, why didn’t he say goodbye to us.” Hanako said annoyed. “That’s just rude!”

“Well I have to go too, see you guys.” Emiko replied sadly, because she had to leave already.

“Wait!” Hanako shouted.

“Huh, what’s up, Hanako?” Emiko asked confused.

“You wanted a battle, and you get one!” Hanako said determined. “Come on, we can battle there.”

Hanako pointed at an open spot of grass with some trees that surrounded it. It was also surrounded with tall grass, bushes and some blooming flowers. Hanako walked over to her side of the field. Some clouds drifted in front of the sun, blocking the bright rays of the sun.

“Please?” Hanako pleaded.

“Oh, okay, why not!” Emiko shouted as she walked over to her side of the field.

Both Emiko and Hanako were staring at each other, waiting patiently ‘till the other one threw her pokeball and released her pokemon. A soft breeze blew and the flowers swayed in the wind, in the lake some pokemon were watching the two girls, in the grass and the trees were also pokemon who were curious what was going to happen. Hanako and Emiko decided that Kenta should be the judge and he stood in the middle. Finally the silence was broken by a drop of rain that had fallen on the water. Emiko then started to move. They were both going to use one pokemon.

“Let’s go, plusle!” Emiko shouted as she spun around and then threw her pokeball on the field. It burst open and the red mouse appeared out of a flash.

“Chikorita, come on out!” Hanako shouted as she threw her pokeball on the field, and it exploded with a flash revealing the leaf pokemon, chikorita.

“Plusle start things of with a quick attack!” Emiko shouted confidently.

Plusle ran towards chikorita and quickly gained speed. After a while plusle was going very fast and it left behind a white trail of light and a cloud of dust. It came near chikorita, but suddenly changed direction as it was running around chikorita, Emiko however wasn’t worried, she knew what plusle was trying to do, Hanako was worried, what was plusle planning, she asked herself. Hanako felt very unsure.

“Uh....chikorita use razor leaf!” Hanako shouted.

Chikorta tried to hit plusle with numerous razor-sharp leaves, but they just missed it, plusle was just too fast to hit. Emiko smirked, Hanako was panicked, and didn’t know how to react, however, Emiko didn’t know what Hanako could use against her. But Hanako quickly reacted with a strategy, that maybe was going to work

“Chikorita, listen closely, and try to determine were plusle is by the sound of its rushing!” Hanako shouted.

Chikorita heard the command and closed her eyes, after a while chikorita faintly heard the sound of plusle’s rushing and it was getting louder. Suddenly a silhouette appeared behind chikorita, but chikorita quickly jumped and it barely dodged plusle’s quick attack. After a while the dust disappeared, and the view was cleared. Chikorita got back on the field and glared at plusle, she was not going down without a fight.

“Use razor leaf, chikorita!” Hanako shouted confidently, she had a plan.

Chikorita obeyed quickly and shot out numerous razor-sharp leavess. As the leaves were nearing, Emiko shouted to plusle that it had to dodge the leaves, Emiko didn’t saw it from a distance that the leaves weren’t meant to hit plusle and all leaves were shot too high.

“Your chikorita isn’t very good at aiming, is it!” Emiko laughed.

<How dare you, I can aim, I just didn’t aim at plusle> chikorita fumed.

“My chikorita didn’t try to hit plusle!” Hanako smirked.

Emiko gasped, she saw that all the leaves were going to hit a big and heavy tree branch. The numerous sharp leaves hit the tree branch, and it then fell down towards plusle. Plusle was terrified when it saw that the big tree branch came down and was going to smash it, chikorita and Hanako smirked, their plan was going to work.

“Quick plusle, get away from there!” Emiko shouted worried.

“No you don’t, chikorita, prevent plusle from getting away!” Hanako shouted.

<All right boss, I am on a roll> chikorita screamed with exitement.

She ran towards plusle who was trying to get away, chikorita knew that it wasn’t going to be smashed under the tree, so it would at least do some damage to it. Plusle tried to get away, in the tall grass, but chikorita used its razor leaf to hit it just before it could jump into the grass. Plusle was hit by some leaves and fell to the ground, crying in agony.

Then a thunderbolt was heard, apparently a storm was coming up and it started to rain. Emiko saw an opportunity, she knew that, with the lightning plusle’s power would be doubled. Hanako saw her disadvantage, and ordered chikorita to use tackle. Chikorita quickly ran off towards plusle, plusle however, was gaining electricity. Just before chikorita was going to hit it, plusle unleashed a deadly spark attack that electrified chikorita, she fell down, crackling with electricity and hurting wounds. Grass types, like chikorita, were resistant against electricity, but this spark attack was amplified and thus, she received the full blow.

<Ouch...that hurt, well I guess I have lost the battle...> chikorita muttered before she fainted.

“Chikorita is unable to battle anymore, the winners are Emiko and plusle!” Kenta declared.

“Wow Kenta, you sounded like a real referee!” Emiko smiled, while she returned plusle.

“You did great chikorita, you deserve a very long rest.” Hanako said, while a few tears rolled over her cheeks.

<Thanks.... but, we did lose the battle...> chikorita muttered, while she was returned to her pokeball.

Hanako put the pokeball on her belt and stopped crying. She then walked over to Emiko and Kenta. A bit disappointed in her first loss, she didn’t start talking, but then the clouds drifted away, and the three trainers watched the sunset.

“Hanako are you ready for your two last weeks of school here?” Emiko asked cheerfully.

“I think so.” Hanako replied. “What do you need for school?”

“Well, only your pokemon and some times they give you homework, you can come to my house to study, we always study together.” Emiko explained. “I always score the least, of us three.”

“Oh, and who scores the most of you?” Hanako asked curious.

“Oh it’s mostly Kenshin, but with the big tests coming up, we don’t know what will happen.” Emiko confessed. “There are three things you have to succeed in: first, battling, I am very good at that, second is knowledge, like knowing the body colour of an aron, and third is communication.” Emiko explained. “Communicating is something which very few succeed in, only if you succeed in all three, you can become a trainer.”

“Wow,...uh, what is an aron?” Hanako asked feeling stupid.

“It is a rock type pokemon, and appears in Granite cave and Victory road, I think.” Emiko answered. “I hope that’s correct.”

“It sure was.” Kenta replied.

“Oh man, its late, oh no, my mom is going to be so angry.” Emiko whined. “Anyway, see you tomorrow!” Emiko shouted.

Emiko threw her rope again, to a tree branch, climbed up and then threw it again. After a while Emiko had disappeared, and was out of view. Kenta said goodbye too and ran into Fortree city’s trees, he too disappeared, after a while. Hanako then walked home by herself, she felt a bit lonely now everyone was gone. She saw some birds high up in the sky, some of them were swablu, but the other were bigger, their whole body was surrounded by clouds, but their skin was still as clear as the sky, Hanako smiled and then ran off towards home. After a while she reached the tree, where her family was residing now. Hanako quickly climbed up the stairs and after a while she reached the platform of her family’s houses. Her mother suddenly came out of the house, and she looked worried. When she saw Hanako, her face was getting red.

“Where were you, Hanako Yoshikazu?” Akira fumed. “The sun has already set!”

“I was hanging out with my friends!” Hanako shouted. “What’s wrong with that?”

“What’s wrong with that is, your food is getting cold, we were worried, and now we hear from you that you were just hanging out with your friends.” Akira screamed angry. “School is tomorrow, so eat your meal and go to bed!”

After eating her food, some screaming from her mother and getting bullied by her brother, she had gone to her room, changed into her blue pyjamas and jumped into bed. She watched the full moon for a while and then finally dozed off to sleep. Her mother came into her room, smiled and closed the door.

Don't worry about one-star rating; some folks here are jealous/stupid and rate fics one star for no reason.

Seriously, though, your grammar is much better than some of the English-speaking noobs that pop up frequently. You should be capitalizing all Pokemon names. I've seen the training/prep school scenario in one other story, and it is a refreshing change of pace from the old "get Pokemon from professor" thing (which admittedly my fic does have, but under a different circumstance). Characters are pretty well thought out, with good description and personality. Of course, you have Pokemon speak; I have to figure out a way to do that without the benefit of Pokemon speech translations. You might want to consider a short flashback thing to explain how Hanako got her Chikorita, considering she hasn't passed the final testing yet.

Anyway, this is a pretty good start. Keep it up!

School introduction of Hanako

The sun was already high up in the sky, and its blinding rays of light shone into a room of a girl that was sleeping peacefully. The girl couldn’t take the sunlight anymore and woke up, she quickly looked at her clock. It said 06.30 AM.

“Man, its this early, oh well, there is no point in going back to sleep now.” She murmured sleepily.

Hanako got out of her bed and walked over to her closet, for this warm day she had picked a short, clear, blue skirt, and an aquamarine shirt. She changed her clothes and threw her pyjamas on her bed. Still yawning she walked downstairs and was amazed that the whole family was still sleeping, she figured they were all tired from the trip from yesterday. She decided to first take a fresh breath of air outside, so she walked outside, inhaled through her nose and exhaled through her mouth. However when she wanted to step back inside a bird-like pokemon flew by. It had a long bright orange beak, but the top of it was black, its body colour was mostly white but on its tail and wings, blue stripes appeared.

“Wingull!” a boy shouted while he was climbing the stairs. “Don’t fly off like that all of a sudden, I wasn’t done with my letter yet!”

“Uh, excuse me, is this your wingull?” Hanako asked curious.

“No, it isn’t, it’s used to export letters and such.” The boy said.

“Oh, cool, by the way my name is Hanako.” Hanako smiled. “What was this pokemon called?”

“You don’t know a wingull?” the boy asked amazed. “That’s almost impossible.”

“It is possible, I just moved in here from far away.” Hanako explained.

“My name is Hajime, nice to meet you.” the boy greeted. “Oh sorry, I have to send this letter fast, I guess its already goodbye.” The boy said as he walked towards the stairs

“Bye.” The boy smiled and he walked down the stairs

“Bye, oh no, I am still not ready for school!” Hanako shouted worried, and she ran inside.

In the house her mother was already making coffee, and her brother was watching television. She rushed by her mother and ran towards her bedroom, she needed her pokeballs, it was the only requirement. When she looked in her room she didn’t saw them, she was sure she had left them on her desk, maybe someone had moved them, and she quickly ran towards the room of her brother. It was disgusting, he just moved in here, and it was already a mess in his room. Hanako decided to first look under the pillow and there she found her brother’s underwear and her pokeballs.

“Ugh, disgusting, he is so going to pay for this,...” Hanako fumed but came up with a plan.

Hanako collected all his underwear and she threw them out of the window, several ones hung on some tree branches but one landed on an unlucky person who passed by. She laughed and ran off towards her own room. She made sure she was all set for school and then ran towards the living room, she gave her mom a kiss on the cheek walked outside. She looked happily at some nests of other flying types. Some were from swablu, others were from wingull, but she then saw another bird that flew towards its nest. It had a dark blue body colour, and a white belly, it had a tiny, orange beak and its tail was split. She liked it, that pokemon was actually kind of cute. Maybe she would catch it later, if she graduated.

“The taillows breed in this season, its nice huh?” a boy asked that stood behind her.

“Kenta, it’s nice you came all the way here for me.” Hanako smiled, as she blushed a little.

“Actually Kenshin and Emiko accompanied me, there waiting there.” Kenta replied while pointing at an old tree in a distance.

“Come on let’s go, we have to be quick.” Hanako giggled while she ran off.

“Hey, wait for me!” Kenta shouted while he followed her. “Girls are really weird sometimes.”

When they arrived at the old tree Hanako greeted them and then quickly walked behind the old tree. Emiko noticed all the underwear that hung on several trees.

“Wow, what happened there?” Emiko laughed. “Looks like someone missed the closet.”

“All listen closely now.” Hanako whispered. “It’s going to happen in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....”

“HANAKO!!!!!” Masaaki yelled.

“Serves him right.” Hanako laughed.

The whole group was shocked when they heard that, and they wanted an explanation from Hanako. The group thought that the sudden underwear epidemic was probably related to this outburst of Hanako’s brother.

“Why did he scream like that?” asked Kenta.

“What do you have to do with all this?” asked Kenshin.

“Why does he have such a bad taste in underwear?” asked Emiko. “What?”

“Nothing, well you see my brother and I hate each other because of several reasons.” Hanako confessed. “Well today he stole my pokeballs and hid them in his room, I found them pretty quickly, but I wanted revenge.” She fumed. “So I collected all his underwear, threw it out of the room and then I quickly ran back to my own room.” Hanako explained.

“Wow, very clever of you Hanako.” Emiko complemented. “But now we have to rush towards school, or we’ll be late.”

The group agreed, and ran off towards school, Masaaki however was collecting his underwear outside, and hoped that nobody saw him like this. But a child that was running after flying swablu quickly discovered him, and started laughing. Most people found the child lying on the ground laughing. They wondered what made it laugh so hard and it pointed towards the bushes. The people looked in the bushes and saw Masaaki searching for his underwear. A journalist who had come along found out about Masaaki and rushed back, to publish its article. Masaaki who collected all his underwear ran back towards his home, changed his clothes and ran off towards school, hoping he would arrive in time. His sister however had already reached school and she now sat in her class.

“Hello class, today we have a new classmate, please welcome, Hanako Yoshikazu.” the teacher announced. “She comes from very far away, somewhere in Jotho.”

“How do you know that?” Hanako asked curious.

“My sister is the teacher you had in Jotho so she informed me about you.” the teacher explained. “Good, class, I want to know how you gained your pokemon.”

Everyone revealed how they got them and such, however most of the pokemon were gained as a present and weren’t that high in level, Kenta couldn’t really explain anything because he didn’t have one yet, however in battle tests he can lend pokemon from the school. His most favourite pokemon was a bagon. Bagons had a blue body colour, and a yellow belly. Bagon dream of soaring through the sky and even hurl themselves off cliffs in order to fly, because of that habit a part of his head had grown hard and tough.

“Good, the next one to explain about his pokemon is Kenshin Ayako.” the teacher announced.

“Well my two flying types, mukkurru and swablu are both gained in a different way.” Kenshin explained. “This is how I got swablu....”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Six-year-old Kenshin was walking home, holding a freshly bought black shirt, it started to rain, and the little Kenshin started to run. A lightning bolt lit up in the darkness and little Kenshin got scared, he then tripped over a rock and fell on the ground, his clothes all dirty. The little Kenshin started to cry and another lightning bolt was heard. Little Kenshin suddenly saw a tiny pokemon. It had a dark blue body colour, five leaves on its head and red eyes. The pokemon spun around and released a blue powder at Kenshin.

“Sleep powder!” little Kenshin screamed, but he already dozed off and fell to the ground.

<Swablu!> the oddish shouted.

A swablu hopped out of the bushes and looked at the little boy that lay before itself.

<Thanks oddish, he is dirty, huh?> swablu thanked happily.

A few altaria and swablu came out of the bushes, lifted little Kenshin off the ground and flew away, towards a big tree that pierced through the clouds. Much flying pokemon had already gathered there, but they were mostly swablu, some altaria and taillow. Swablu’s had cleaned Kenshin and had gently put him on a bed of leaves. All swablu’s left except for one, it was the swablu that had discovered little Kenshin and had asked for oddish’s help.

<Don’t you come with us?> an altaria asked worried. <Dad has already left>

<No, I prefer to stay with the little boy, and besides he is still a little dirty> the swablu smiled happily. <You can go if you want mom>

<No, if you stay here, then I stay here too> the mother replied. <You’re still a little too young to stay here by yourself>

After a while the swablu and its mother had dozed off and were sleeping peacefully. The next morning the sun was shining brightly and its bright rays woke up the little Kenshin. He first was a little amazed from where he was, but was calmed when he saw the altaria and swablu sleeping next to him. The little swablu woke up and happily greeted the little Kenshin, it then tried to wake up his mother. After a while she too woke up and greeted little Kenshin. Altaria wanted to gibe little Kenshin a ride and pointed to Kenshin then to herself. Kenshin understood and climbed on altaria. It was a pleasant ride with altaria and swablu when they arrived at Fortree city, Kenshin said goodbye to his two friends, swablu however didn’t want to leave Kenshin and asked if it could join his team.

“You want to join me?” littlke Kenshin asked curious, which swablu nodded in return. “Yes, I have a new friend, swablu!”

“Kenshin!” a woman shouted. “Finally, you’re back home, where is that outfit I bought for you?”

“Well, I had lost my way last night, and I walked in a wrong direction, after a while I reached Lilycove city, a friendly old man discovered me and gave me ride back home and this swablu joined me on the way to Lilycove.” Kenshin lied.

“Oh my, you’re probably tired, come we go home.” the woman said worried.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Mukkurru was a present from the Shinou region from my father.” Kenshin explained.

“Good, next one.” The teacher said.

After a while most children had told about their pokemon and only two haven’t told the teacher how they gained their pokemon yet.

“Emiko Saboru, please tell us how you got your pokemon.” the teacher asked.

“Well, I still lived in Lilycove city, back then....” Emiko smiled.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seven-year-old Emiko was walking with her father to see a soccer match. Emiko and her father found a place to look at the soccer match. Emiko disliked soccer and looked in another direction, there she saw a plusle and minun cheering for one of the teams. Emiko wanted to go to the cheering pokemon, but her problem was her father, suddenly she came up with an idea.

“Daddy, look, one of the teams scored a point!” Emiko shouted.

“Where?!” he asked curious as he looked in several directions, but Emiko had already escaped and ran towards the plusle and minun.

“Hey there.” Emiko wispered. “Over here.”

The plusle and minun had heard the voice of Emiko and towards her. Emiko smiled as she looked at plusle and minun who both looked at her with confused expressions.

“Hi, I am Emiko, nice to meet you.” Emiko greeted.

The plusle and minun both greeted her in return. They liked this girl, this girl looked very cheerful and that made them happy.

“Plusle, minun, can you help me with a joke.” Emiko laughed.

Both pokemon nodded and after they heard the plan, got into their positions. Emiko smiled and walked inside a building were the match was being recorded. She walked into the control room where a man was looking at the match.

“Excuse me.” Emiko whispered. “Someone is creating havoc on the soccer field.”

“Hey, girl, this area is off limits!” The man yelled. “Wait, what did you say?”

“Someone is creating havoc on the soccer field.” Emiko repeated.

“Oh no!” he shouted, he got up from his chair and ran off towards the soccer field.

“OK, first phase completed.” giggled Emiko as she ran towards the micro.

“Everyone, please evacuate calmly, a bomb is discovered in the center of the soccer field, I repeat, please evacuate calmly, a bomb is discovered in the center of the soccer field!” she spoke in the micro.

The whole audience panicked when they heard the announcement. Plusle and minun used their electricity to scare the people who tried to run away. But Emiko’s father knew there was something going on. He tried to find a way through all the people and arrived at the tiny building. He then heard some laughing from behind the building. When he looked, he saw his daughter and two pokemons laughing. He smiled and decided to pop in.

“Good joke, Emiko.” Her dad said.

“Oh, hi dad.” she giggled. “How did you know it was me?”

“This joke is typically your style, it was pretty tricky however.” Her dad laughed. “Come, we’re going home.”

“But...plusle and minun.” She said while she pointed at them.

“They can come with us.” Her dad smiled.

“Yeah, I have a plusle and a minun!” Emiko shouted exited.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Good, then the last one Hanako Yoshikazu.” the teacher announced again, but this time the whole class was listening, with the other stories, some classmates were talking and not listening, but Hanako came from Jotho, so she was the focus of the class.

“Well, I got chikorita when I was 5...” Hanako explained.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Five-year-old Hanako was sitting in a soft sofa, watching a battle on television. Her ten-year-old brother came down the stairs and asked her a cookie. His mother disagreed and sent him to his room. Masaaki angrily passed by his younger sister, who was happily watching the battle between two very strong trainers. He just wished he had such pokemon, so he could create havoc and would receive respect. He ran towards his room, packed his bag and jumped out of the window. He landed on a soft hill made of sand, and ran off into the woods.

“Mommy, I see brother running in forest.” Hanako giggled. “He hold heavy bag.”

“What?” Akira screamed. “Tetsuya, our son has ran off!”

“I am coming!” a voice from upstairs shouted. “Here I am, in which direction did he flee?”

“I don’t know, Hanako has seen him running into the woods.” Akira cried. “But he probably fled that way, because Hanako couldn’t have seen him if he fled in another direction.”

“But that’s were dangerous rock, fire and steel pokemon live, we have to go immediately!” Tetsuya yelled. “Let’s go, honey!”

But in their hurry, they forgot to lock the door and they forgot Hanako. Hanako who was a bit bored now the battle was over, decided to get some fresh air. When she walked outside she saw her parent running into the forest. Hanako decided to follow, and tried to follow them. A chikorita had watched the whole thing happen and it quickly followed Hanako.

When Akira and Tetsuya had reached the end of the forest they saw a tiny bag lying on the ground. The forest was nearby a cliff and they feared the worst. Masaaki who had decided to rest for a while, saw his parents and giggled, however his sister who came closer saw her brother and ran towards him. Chikorita who was following Hanako all the time remarked that the little girl suddenly started to run much faster.

“Masaaki!” Hanako screamed happily. “Hanako found you, Hanako happy.”

Masaaki gasped, he was spotted. His own little sister had discovered him, but his fear grew when he saw three shadows behind her. Chikorita who had slowed down a little, had seen the three shadows appear too and quickly hurried up. The parents had heard the shout of Hanako, and they ran towards her and her brother. When they arrived, they saw the three shadows nearing their children.

“We have to protect them, let’s go croconaw, ariados and hoothoot!” Tetsuya shouted as he threw his pokeballs.

“Jumpluff, furret, come on out!” Akira shouted while she threw her pokeballs.

“Cyndaquil help me!” Masaaki yelled.

A group of pokemon appeared out of a flash, the first one was a croconaw, it had a blue body colour, but some parts of its body were yellow like its jaw and a part of its belly, it also had red horns on its head, back and tail. The second one was ariados, it had a spider-like appearance and had a red body colour, it had a black stripes across its body, it also had four yellow legs and its back looked a bit like a face so it was hard to tell which its real face was.
The third one was a hoothoot, which looked like a little owl, it had a brown body colour but its belly was cream coloured and it had big, red, hypnotising eyes, the strange thing about this pokemon was that it always stood on one foot. The fourth one was a jumpluff, its whole body was blue, its arms ended in a ball of pollen, on its head was also a ball of pollen, they say jumpluff travel around the world on a soft breeze. The fifth one was furret, who had a very slender body that had a creamy colour, on its body also ran brown stripes and it had very short feet, on a furret you can’t see were it body stops or its tail begins. The last one was cyndaquil, which had a mouse-like appearance, its body was cream coloured but its back was black, on his back red circles appeared, if a cyndaquil was angry it could spout fire out of its red circles. Chikorita then decided to join them and was going to help the family.

When the three shadows revealed themselves, they looked at a bird with an iron body, a burly bear with a yellow ring on its belly and a ball like pokemon which its body was completely covered with rocks, except for his arms, his legs and his face.

“Those are ursaring, golem and skarmory!” Tetsuya shouted worried.

Chikorita was a bit impatient and immediately launched a bunch of leaves at the enemies, However ursaring and skarmory weren’t fazed by this, only golem received some damage. Skarmory released sharp star-like rays at the group of pokemons.

“Cyndaquil counter with flamethrower!” Masaaki ordered.

“Block them with bubble, croconaw!” Tetsuya ordered.

As the flamethrower easily burned the star shaped rays, it was going straight for skarmory, while croconaw easily defended the group against the rest of the star shaped rays. Skarmory was hit by the flamethrower and was completely engulfed in flames. Furret quickly finished it with a quick attack and skarmory then fainted. Golem use a rollout attack at jumpluff, but a spider web attack from ariados prevented golem from rolling any further, while ursaring used its mega punch to hit hoothoot pretty hard, and it was smacked against a tree, knocked out. After that it used slash to land a hit on jumpluff, which was knocked out too. Golem who had tried a double-edge at furret, didn’t succeed, but instead hit ariados, who received a lot of damage.

“Croconaw use water gun on ursaring, and ariados try to trap in another spiderweb!” Tetsuya shouted worried, this wasn’t going the right way.

“Furret use quick attack at golem!” Akira yelled.

Ursaring could dodge the water gun, but was immediately trapped in the spider web, golem’s shield of rocks was too hard for furret and it instead damaged itself, golem then used its magnitude attack to defeat both furret and ariados. Ursaring quickly freed itself from the spider web and launched a hyper beam at cyndaquil, which hit it hard and defeated it. Chikorita was fed up and was really angry when ursaring shot a hyper beam at Hanako. Chikorita quickly created a mirror-like wall that deflected the hyper beam and it was shot right back at ursaring, which fainted. The golem didn’t like it anymore and used an earthquake to escape, however a piece of earth broke off the cliff and Tetsuya and croconaw stood on it. Chikorita tried to save them with its vine whip but just missed them and they fell into the depth. The mother of Hanako burst out in tears while she was sitting at the edge of the cliff.....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“And after that it joined me.” Hanako cried.

The entire class was touched by this story, Hanako had lost her father because of her brother and he didn’t even feel sorry for her. Emiko walked over towards Hanako to comfort her.

“We all sometimes lose beloved ones, but that’s how life goes, but Hanako I am sure he is alive.” Emiko said trying to cheer Hanako up. “He must have found a way to avoid death.”

After some more comforting words it was time to do lessons, the time was going by slowly but eventually, it was lunch time. Everyone quickly got up and rushed out of the class, except for Hanako, Emiko, Kenshin and Kenta, they wanted to know what the next lesson was.

“We’re going to have battle lesson after lunch time, make sure you’re ready.” the teacher said while she walked towards a room that could only be accessed by the teachers. When they walked outside they saw a group of girls chattering nearby.

“I wonder what they’re talking about?” Emiko asked curious while eating her meal. “Probably normal things, like ‘Who has a crush on whom?’ and stuff like that.”

“Oh, forget about Emi.” Kenshin yawned. “That’s boring stuff, but this school is boring anyway.”

“I like it here, what’s so boring here Kenshin?” Hanako asked curious.

“Everything...” Kenshin replied, but he received a nasty glare from his friends. “Uh, I mean, beside you guys, of course.”

“That’s better.” Emiko laughed. “Well Hanako, how do you like Hoenn so far?”

“Oh, its nice, I just don’t get it that we moved all the way here, just because my father died back there in Jotho.” Hanako replied. “But I think my mom hides some things for me.”

“I guess you must hate your brother Masaaki, he was the one that led you and your family towards that cliff?” Emiko asked, one of the few times that she wasn’t cheerful. “Hey, Hanako what do you really hate?”

“I guess that’s my brother and rock, steel and fire type pokemon.” Hanako answered. “I will explain why I hate fire pokemon, on one day when my brother was fourteen he got so angry about something that he commanded his cyndaquil to fire a flamethrower at my mother.” She confessed, while her friend stared at her amazed. “That’s why I dislike fire types, I think my brother and the steel and rock type are pretty logical, why I hate those.”

“Your brother really is crazy sometimes, how could he let his pokemon attack on his own mother.” Emiko replied. “I am happy with my own brother.”

The bell rang, the signal that lunch time was over. Everyone quickly rushed inside towards their class. When everyone sat down the teacher spoke.

“We’re going to have a little tournament, we’re sixteen so it perfectly works out, please everyone gather and follow me.” the teacher explained as she walked towards an open spot were they could have their tournament.

After a while the first battle started. The teacher announced the first battle.

“The first battle is Hanako Yoshikazu against Juro Aki!” the teacher announced. “The battle will be one-on-one, let the battle begin!”

“Let’s go sunkern!” Hanako shouted as she threw her pokeball.

“I choose spheal!” Juro yelled, while his pokeball exploded in a flash.

Spheal had a round shaped, blue coloured body with some white spots here and there, it had tiny teeth and a cream coloured belly. Spheal glared at sunkern who had just appeared out of its pokeball.

“Sunkern, use absorb to get its health down!” Hanako ordered.

Sunkern focused and glowed green, after a while the green glowing started to appear around spheal too, but the green glowing stole the health of spheal and gave it to sunkern. Spheal had lost much of its health and was worn out.

“Spheal use aurora beam!” Juro ordered annoyed.

Spheal collected energy and then fired it at sunkern in a rainbow-coloured beam, sunkern however instinctively dodged the beam and used its tackle to bring down spheals health some more. Spheal was now really panting and all of a sudden it collapsed.

“Spheal is unable to fight further, the winners are sunkern and Hanako!” the teacher announced. “The next fight is between Emiko Saboru against Chika Aimi, let the battle begin!”

“Let’s go minun!” Emiko shouted exited, spun around and threw her pokeball.

“Aron, come on out!” Chika yelled and she threw her pokeball.

The aron had an iron shield all over its body and was coloured grey, only its belly wasn’t shielded and was coloured a dark grey. Aron jumped up and down and ran around in circles, it looked like this aron was dizzy, but it was just a habit of this aron.

“Minun, use quick attack and make it dizzy!” Emiko ordered smiling.

Minun quickly sped off towards aron, but just like plusle in the battle against Hanako, it ran circles around aron to make it dizzy and confused, after a while aron was even more confused than her trainer and it ran around in circles and then bumped into a tree.

“Okay minun, now use spark!” Emiko smirked.

Minun sped off very fast this time, and sparks flew around it when it was nearing aron who was still running around and even ran towards it trainer to tackle her. Minun finally reached aron, as minun was now completely engulfed in electricity and crashed into aron and her trainer giving them both a static shock. Aron and her trainer both fainted and fell down.

“Aron is unable to battle, the winners are Emiko and minun!” the teacher announced. “The next battle is between Kenta Jun against Hiroyuki Arata, let the battle begin!”

While the sun was setting Kenta released his bagon and Hiroyuki released his taillow.
Both Kenta and Hiroyuki were determined to win, but Kenta knew that tiring your pokemon all out just because you wanted to win wasn’t a very good strategy .

“Bagon use your headbutt!” Kenta ordered.

Bagon quickly ran towards taillow with his head forward, it was getting closer and closer to taillow, but Hiroyuki simply ordered taillow to flew into the air and dodge. Seeing taillow fly really angered bagon and jumped into the air hitting taillow with a hard headbutt.

“Taillow use your quick attack!” Hiroyuki ordered angrily.

Taillow sped off and left a trail of white light behind it, taillow almost hit bagon but it deflected the attack by letting taillow tackle its head, the hardest part of its body. Bagon’s mouth started to glow red as it fired a series of fireballs that all hit taillow, it fell down smoking, but didn’t faint.

“Now use peck!” Hiroyuki ordered.

“Deflect it with headbutt!” Kenta shouted.

Bagon and taillow both sped off at the same time and when they reached each other, taillow again damaged itself by pecking the head of bagon. Bagon then tackled into taillow and it crashed into a tree knocked out, while Hiroyuki fumed and returned his taillow.

“Taillow is unable to battle, the winners are Kenta and bagon!” the teacher announced.
“The lesson is over for today kids, I see you tomorrow, bye!” she said and she ran off towards her bicycle.

“Well, I guess we have to go home for now, too bad, anyway see you tomorrow!” Emiko shouted as she threw her rope at a tree branch and climbed up on it, and she then threw her rope some times and she disappeared into the trees from Fortree city.

“Bye.” Kenshin said as he walked off.

Kenta and Hanako walked back home together and then said goodbye to each other. After a while she thought about today and wondered if her brother even had reached school but anyway, she knew her father couldn’t be dead. Somehow he must have escaped and searched for her and her family, then she walked off towards home, happily that she already has such caring and comforting friends.

Whew, finally got around to reading this.

You're still forgetting to capitalize Pokemon names. There were more grammatical errors this time. You may want to consider getting a beta reader, someone who proofreads your work and makes grammar corrections. I could do this for you, but I wouldn't be the quickest person. I could take up to four days to look it over, make corrections, then return it to you for your approval. PM me if you still want me to beta read for you.

short, clear, blue skirt
You should change this to "short, plain blue skirt". Clear implies hat her skirt is transparent, and we certainly don't want that :)

Also, try to avoid using Pokedex excerpts when describing Pokemon for the first time, unless a Pokedex is actually booted up and used. When they're first introduced go with describing their appearance only. As the story continues and we get to know the Pokemon deeper, then you can start elaborating on their personality traits. During the battle, you could go more into emotion, i.e., "the trainer looked on nervously", or "The Pokemon was out of breath after the last attack but still wore a look of determination on its face."

Other than that, it's proceeding quite well. My favorite part was the underwear deal with her brother. The histories of the Pokemon were also interesting. I noticed you posted this the day after your first chapter. You might want to spend a little more time adding polish to your story before publishing it.

But, all in all, it's still going along quite well.

thanks for posting darkpersian, I still haven't done anything to chapter three, I was getting depri because nobody reviewed, thanks for the comments, you're probably right about those habits and I've gotta admit that the battles were a bit rushed, the history idea was based of your previous comment
you're post has motivated me to work at this fic again.
Maybe I should have added a bit more detail to some things

bye, I've gotta go back to school

Electric soul Fairy

After that it used slash to land a hit on jumpluff, which was knocked out too. Golem who had tried a double-edge at furret, didn’t succeed, but instead hit ariados, who received a lot of damage.

“Croconaw use water gun on ursaring, and ariados try to trap in another spiderweb!” Tetsuya shouted worried, this wasn’t going the right way.

In this sample, the names of the Pokemon need to begin with a capital letter, like shown below:
After that it used Slash to land a hit on Jumpluff, which was knocked out too. Golem who had tried a Double-Edge at Furret, didn’t succeed, but instead hit Ariados, who received a lot of damage.

“Croconaw use Water Gun on Ursaring, and Ariados try to trap in another Spiderweb!” Tetsuya shouted worried, this wasn’t going the right way.
Note the changes made in bold.

Again, if you need me to beta/proofread your story before you post the next chapter, just PM me.

Also, don't worry if you don't get too many reviews. My fic never got a big following either. Don't post for reviews. Post because you want to share your unique take on the Pokemon universe :)

=D You used my name! When I saw the title of this, I came running to read this.

The only real problem with this is the grammar. English is a tricky language to learn, even for native speakers. Don't get discouraged!

And pah... Don't only write for reviews. Write for fun!

The good thing is with your story is that the plot is original, so I can't really predict where things are going to go. Which means - ta da! - I'm staying here to read this.

Besides, you used my name. =D

*Because that made me feel all happy, I'll extend the offer of any help that you may need with English. Whether you need a proof-reader or anyone to ask any question on English, come to me.

Good luck to you! *salutes*

This is good stuff. And I'm not being sarcastic either, I really think this is good. You come across as a newbie author with no experience, yet you control your fic with great maturity. I was surprised!

But there are a few gripes like grammar, but that can be sorted out. And at times, you described the action but it seemed all too simplistic. However, these are all minor, and I hope it takes many people by surprise as it did to me! Good luck!

Thanks everyone for posting it motivated me so much this chapter became pretty long, thanks for the compliments Hanako Tabris, Doctor and Darkpersian and also, thanks for the comments

We keep battling

It was very early in Fortree city, almost too early for anyone to be awake yet, however a boy who was around seventeen-years-old was awake. He wanted revenge on someone and quietly sneaked out of his room towards another room. The boy didn’t notice the shadow that was behind him. In this room his sister was sleeping peacefully. She was not aware of any danger, and slept quietly. He softly pushed open the door and walked over to his sister’s bed. He grinned and then threw his pokeball softly. He didn’t want to make too much noise. The creature that appeared out of the flash landed softly on its four feet and was cream coloured, but its back had a black colour and a part of its back was set on fire.

“Hmm, which body part of her should I burn, at least it will teach her a lesson for throwing all my underwear out of the window.” He grinned, this would be so much fun. “Quilava, shoot a Flamethrower at her right hand, just like you did it three years ago on mom.”

Just when Quilava was about to fire its flamethrower, a window broke and a girl leaped through it, landed before Masaaki and spread her arms. Her face was filled with rage, she was fed up with this guy because he wanted to burn her new friend.

“You must be Masaaki, I’ve heard about you.” Emiko grinned.

“Oh yeah, from whom?” Masaaki asked angrily but it didn’t take him long to figure out that his sister must have told this girl. “So you are my stupid sister’s new friend, I am surprised she even found a friend here.”

“Like you have made any friends here yet, you arrived at school too late, you have burned your mother, you were the reason Hanako lost her father and you were planning to burn your own sister.” Emiko counted on her fingers. “And on top of all that you are already in a magazine, because of the underwear epidemic, I don’t think you have gained much friends by now.” Emiko laughed.

“Oh, so you want to be burned too.” Masaaki fumed.

“No, I don’t, instead, you want to be electrocuted, go Minun!” she shouted confidently, but actually she was shivering with fear, this opponent could crush her if he wanted.

Minun obeyed immediately and dashed off, while it gained speed a trail of white light appeared behind Minun, revealing that Minun was trying to hit Masaaki with Quick Attack. Minun just missed Masaaki because he dodged by ducking. After the attack Masaaki wasn’t harmed but Minun crashed into the wooden wall. Minun then tried to paralyse Masaaki with a weak jolt of electricity, but again Masaaki dodged and the attack left a scorched spot on the wall. Minun still didn’t want to give up, but its energy was low so it had to try a final attack to hit Masaaki. Minun tried to gather all electricity around him and then fired it all in one accurate shot at Masaaki. Masaaki tried to dodge but this attack called Shock Wave never misses its target, and so Masaaki was hit. Masaaki was scorched by this attack and fell on the ground with a hard thud, but shortly after that Minun also fainted. All its energy was drained by that last attack, but at least it his trainer and her friend were unharmed.

“Oh no, Minun are you okay?” Emiko asked. She ran over to one of her beloved pokemons, but now Emiko wasn’t paying attention, and so Plusle was hit hard and it crashed into a wall. But one of Plusle’s feet was severely damaged from the last attack and it couldn’t walk anymore. “Plusle watch out!” Emiko shouted worried, but it was too late, Plusle was hit by a deadly Flamethrower and was severely burned. Emiko was worried, this was not going the right way, one of her pokemon had fainted and the other one was severely damaged. Emiko picked up her Plusle and Minun and then started running towards the stairs, barely dodging a Flamethrower when she ran out of Hanako’s bedroom. She evaded the stairs and simply jumped over them, luckily for her she fell down, because a scorching Flamethrower maybe could have hit her. In the bedroom Hanako finally woke up and looked surprised at her room, where some scorch marks were left and on the floor her scorched brother was lying.

“What’s going on here?” Hanako asked sleepily and surprised, but when she saw a pink scarf, three opened pokeballs and a scorch mark in the hall, Hanako got worried. Hanako immediately changed her clothes and ran towards the stairs where she saw another scorch mark. Hanako rushed down the stairs and saw some more scorch marks on the walls, but then she heard a soft voice, she scanned the area and saw a little yellow pokemon lying on the wooden floor.

“Plusle!” Hanako shouted worried, as she ran towards the electric mouse. “Are you okay Plusle, what happened?”

<Hanako...I... don’t...know...very...much> Plusle tried to answer. <Emiko...send us out to...protect you>

“Why?” Hanako asked worried. “What happened in my room?”

<I am sorry...Hanako...we couldn’t protect you...from you’re brother...Minun had fainted just after...she had scorched...you’re brother...I tried to fight Quilava...> Plusle told Hanako. <But I was hit by a...fire attack and I was...burned...Emiko...tried to save...us and ran out of your room...trying to escape...but...she failed and was hit by...a Quick Attack downstairs...>

<She lost her grip...and I fell on the...floor...she ran outside...together with Minun...she knew...she couldn’t save me...now...and Quilava...was in the way...I don’t know... what...happened after that...> Plusle answered before collapsing from the damage that the burns inflicted.

“Plusle!” Hanako cried as she saw Plusle collapsing, Hanako dried her tears and ran outside, worrying about Emiko. When she got outside she saw Minun lying on the platform, she too was burned but not as seriously as Plusle. Hanako ran towards Minun hoping she could give her more information.

“Minun, where is Emiko, what happened to you?” Hanako asked as she saw the burns.

<Hanako...I hoped...you would...wake up...I can’t believe...you...slept...through the whole...battle> Minun replied, forcing a weak grin. <I woke up...when Emiko fell...on the wooden floor...she was probably hit...by Quilava...I saw Plusle falling...on the floor...but Emiko had to escape...so she ran outside...with me...Emiko...is pretty athletic so...she could dodge...most attacks>

“Is Emiko hurt, and where did she go?” Hanako asked, Emiko could have been hit.

<I don’t know...much more...than Plusle...Emiko dodged a fair pair...of attacks but was hit...again by a Quick...Attack...and she dropped me... she then threw her rope...to a tree branch> Minun muttered. <So she could escape...but Quilava fired some...more Flamethrowers and one hit her rope...and she fell down...however Emiko succeeded...in grabbing a lower...tree branch...but after a while I...couldn’t see her anymore...I guess I fainted...then>

Hanako picked up Minun and walked inside laying her softly on the floor, next to plusle. She then quickly released her pokemon. The sun was rising and the weather became more comfortable. She ordered them to find Emiko and try to defend her from Quilava. Chikorita rushed down the stairs and walked around in the city, hoping that she could find Emiko, Sunkern used its leaves to fly in the air and so search for Emiko from above. Hanako decided to climb some trees to search for Emiko, maybe Emiko wasn’t so far off, at least that was what Hanako hoped. Chikorita who searched in the bushes and such, suddenly smelled smoke and ran towards the burned scent. She came to a tree and saw a scorch mark on it, Emiko had probably chosen to escape via the ground, but the looks of this told Chikorita that Quilava had found her. Some distance away she saw Quilava lying on the ground, it looked like it had fainted. She scanned the area and searched in the bushes. After some searching she found Emiko unconscious, and she had several burns on her body. Chikorita wondered what could have knocked out Quilava. It couldn’t be Emiko, she had probably been unconscious the whole time. Sunkern who had smelled the scent too saw Chikorita sitting next to the fainted Emiko. Sunkern landed close to Chikorita and asked her about Emiko.

<I don’t know, Quilava lies on the sandy path, there> Chikorita replied, pointing towards the dirt path. <But anyway, we found Emiko, but it’s still a mystery how Quilava was knocked out cold>

<Who cares, I still am a little sleepy, but I can inform Hanako sooner than you can> Sunkern yawned, when it started to fly towards Hanako. <Bye>

After a while, Sunkern found Hanako and informed her about Emiko. Hanako who wanted to get to Emiko immediately asked Sunkern which way she had to go. Sunkern said that she would lead the way if she could rest the whole day, without being disrupted. Hanako quickly agreed and Sunkern led the way to an unconscious Emiko. Hanako was happy to see her friend, and that she was okay, except for the burns. She then wondered where Quilava was.

“Do you guys know where Quilava is?” Hanako asked curiously.

<Yes, he is knocked out cold and now he lies on the dirt path> Chikorita laughed. <But it’s really strange, Emiko couldn’t have knocked him out, it looks like she was already unconscious before Quilava was hit, or knocked out>

“Strange.” Hanako replied. “Oh yeah, thanks for helping, and now you can return to your pokeball, Sunkern.”

<Finally, sleep> Sunkern yawned happily before he was returned to his pokeball.

Together with Chikorita, Hanako carried Emiko back to Hanako’s home. When they finally arrived, Plusle and Minun happily came out of the building. Hanako asked if they were okay, maybe they still hadn’t recovered from the battles.

<We’re fine, only Plusle has some pain left from the burns> Minun explained. <Finally, our trainer is back>

After some more talking with the pokemon, Emiko started to regain consciousness and asked where Quilava was. Hanako quickly answered that it was still in the city, unconscious and Emiko then explained about her fleeing manoeuvre.

“After I grabbed the lower tree branch I swung further without a rope, but Quilava had fired some star-shaped rays, known as the attack called Swift.” Emiko explained “The swift attack cut through a tree branch and I fell down, luckily I landed on soft bushes and leaves.”

“Quilava quikly caught up with me, and I had to run.” Emiko told. “When I reached a tree, I tried to climb it and I barely dodged another Flamethrower.”

“That explains the scorch mark I saw on a tree, not very far away, where my Chikorita found you.” Hanako replied.

“Indeed, but Quilava succeeded in hitting me and I fell down, but again I was lucky because I fell on Quilava, so it couldn’t move.” Emiko replied. “I quickly got off and started running again, because otherwise, I could have been burned more severely.” Emiko replied.

“When Quilava caught up with me, I saw a cloud of dust on the horizon, and it was nearing quickly, I couldn’t dodge it and Quilava didn’t either, so we were both knocked over, I landed in the bushes, and I guess I lost consciousness then.”

“What could the cloud of dust be?” Hanako asked curiously.

“I don’t know, but it was a human and I heard him scream ‘where is the love of my life’.” Emiko replied.

When the girls walked in they saw that they were going to be late. So they quickly rushed towards Hanako’s room, where Emiko found her pokeballs. Emiko then ran out to return her pokemon while Hanako was readying herself. Emiko immediately dashed down the stairs and ran towards the sandy path that led to their school. When Hanako walked past the room of her brother she saw him trying to find his pants, she figured that it probably wasn’t easy to find your pants in such a pile of junk. She laughed and walked outside, smiling. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining brightly, Hanako had chosen a summer outfit. She wore a plain blue shirt and an orange skirt. Just when she was about to leave, she saw a cloud of dust on the horizon, it was the same cloud of dust Emiko had seen.

“Hey Emiko!” Hanako shouted hard. “Come over here!”

“Okay!” Emiko shouted as she quickly dashed up the stairs and reached Hanako. “What’s the matter?”

“Look!” Hanako said as she pointed at the cloud of dust on the horizon. The cloud was getting closer and in the middle a silhouette appeared. “It’s the cloud of dust again.”

When the cloud reached Fortree city, it zigzagged between the trees and reached the tree where Hanako and Emiko stood. It then dashed up the stairs towards them. Emiko didn’t want to stay and threw her second rope to another tree, Emiko then grabbed Hanako and swung to another tree, just before the cloud of dust reached them.

“Hanako!!!” a boy shouted. “I am here!”

Hanako turned around and saw a boy around her age with jet black hair. He waved at her and shouted, Hanako simply looked at the lad but suddenly realised something and took a closer look at the screaming boy.

“No, don’t tell me...” Hanako whispered as she swung together with Emiko towards another tree. “Its Isao!” she shouted.

“Who?” Emiko asked while they landed on a though tree branch that was strong enough to hold them both. “Who is Isao,?”

“I can’t believe he managed to follow me all the way here.” Hanako panicked. “Emiko, he had a serious crush on me, but I didn’t like him and I have told him several times but he didn’t listen.”

“We have to escape!” Hanako panicked, she certainly didn’t want a reunion with her stalker, who didn’t accept the fact that she hated him.

“At your service!” Emiko joked joyfully, as she threw her rope to a tree branch that looked steady enough to hold their combined weight. Emiko swung towards it, together with Hanako, who was happy that the tree branch was some distance away from them and hoped they lost Isao. All her hopes were shattered when she saw that Isao was simply running behind them, still waving. Hanako had enough, she wanted to get rid of Isao and quickly released her Chikorita.

“Chikorita, Isao is back, please fire some leaves at him.” Hanako pleaded. “You know, the guy who had a crush on me in Jotho”

<You mean, the crazy stalker guy> chikorita laughed. <I have waited for this moment since the day I saw that guy>

Chikorita happily fired some leaves at Isao but he simply dodged them and he kept running after Hanako and Emiko. They finally reached the open place were a few grass patches grew.
Emiko and Hanako landed softly on the dirt path and started running towards the building in the distance. Hanako looked behind her and saw Isao still running after them.

“Chikorita, try to let him trip over one of your vines.” Hanako whispered. “We must lose him.”

<Okay, stalker guy, here are the extending vines of chikorita> chikorita joked while she used her vines to let him trip. This time it worked and Isao tripped and fell hard on. Emiko and Hanako laughed and they finally reached their school. They walked through the corridor towards their class, when they reached it Hanako first returned Chikorita to her pokeball.

“Thanks for helping, Chikorita.” Hanako thanked happily. “This was one of the best moments of my life.”

<It was my pleasure > Chikorita replied laughing while she was returned to her cosy pokeball.

Emiko and Hanako opened the door and walked inside. They weren’t too late. When walked in they saw Kenshin, Kenta, the teacher and their classmates sitting on their chairs. When Kenshin saw Emiko he happily greeted her. When he had greeted her, he sat back in his chair and it seemed like they all waited for someone to arrive.

“Hello, I am here too!” Hanako shouted annoyed. “Why don’t you greet me?”

Kenshin didn’t answer, Kenta noticed them too and got up from his chair, to greet them. Kenta said he was happy they made it. The girls were a bit confused when they heard Kenta say that. The girls asked why and Kenta explained that they were all ambushed by a cloud of dust and were tackled to the ground. Kenta said it was a boy with jet, black hair that kept asking where the ‘love’ of his life could be.

“We have encountered the boy too, but Chikorita succeeded in letting him trip.” Emiko replied. “The guys name is Isao, and he has a bad crush on Hanako, but he’s too stubborn to accept that she doesn’t like him.”

“Really, he must be a nightmare.” Kenta replied, but while he said that, someone barged into the class, and when the smoke cleared the boy with jet, black hair was visible.

“You’re a bit late Isao, everyone must arrive in time, class, this is our new classmate.” the teacher announced. “Everyone, please greet Isao friendly.”

“What, you can’t be serious?” Hanako screamed. “He’s our new classmate?”

“Hanako, my love.” Isao said with hearts in his eyes. “We’re finally back together.”

“We’re not together, and I am not your love!” Hanako screamed enraged. “Leave me alone!”

Suddenly Emiko, Kenshin and Kenta jumped between Isao and Hanako, preventing him to come close to her or even touch her. Isao was a bit surprised, but quickly regained composure. He calmly walked over to them, but deep inside he saw Kenshin and Kenta as rivals. They could break their love and they would be separated. Hanako was actually quite happy because her friends protected her against Isao

“She’s just being modest.” Isao calmly replied. “But I want to know the names of my new rival, uh, I mean friends.”

“We’re her friends and not yours, leave us alone!” They all shouted in unison.

The teacher didn’t want conflicts and announced that they would go on with the yesterday’s test. She quietly walked outside and mentioned everyone to follow her to the battle field. She then announced the children who had already battled, which included Emiko, Hanako and Kenta.

“The next battle will be Kenshin against our newest classmate, Isao!” the teacher announced.
“Let the battle begin!”

“Let’s go swablu!” Kenshin shouted confidently.

“I choose natu!” Isao yelled.

Both pokemons appeared out of a flash, the natu gained form and had a bright, green body colour. It had tiny wings, which were yellow, but the tips of the wings were black. It also had a yellow beak and tiny orange feet. The last feature of its body was a magenta coloured tail. Swablu had a look of determination on its face, while its opponent had big hypnotic eyes. Maybe it didn’t look very tough, but being overconfident is a very great weakness.

<Yes, another battle, I needed some exercise> swablu chirped happily.

“Swablu, be patient and pay attention to your opponent.” Kenshin ordered.

“You think you’re going to win by paying attention, I don’t think so!” Isao laughed. “Natu, create a tornado!”

“Can’t you just call it a Gust!” Kenshin smirked. “Swablu, watch out for that gust of wind!”

Natu created a tornado by flapping its wings and combine air currents, which slowly neared swablu. When the tornado finally reached Swablu, it was getting weaker, and then Swablu was sucked inside. Natu then decided to fly in the tornado to damage Swablu some more, but Swablu was prepared and it dodged several Peck attacks. Swablu then used its Astonish attack to prevent Natu from attacking, but it wasn’t the only thing Astonish did, because Natu was shocked by the attack. It lost its concentration and the tornado disappeared. Natu fell hard on the ground, but swablu landed softly.

“Natu, use your Doubleslap!” Isao ordered angry.

“Dodge them and fly up!” Kenshin ordered, he knew Isao was losing its patience.

Natu quickly got up from the dirt, and flew towards Swablu using its wings to slap swablu. Natu succeeded a few times in hitting Swablu, but then always just missed it. Swablu then flew up and looked at the tiny Natu below.

“Quickly, use Confusion!” Isao ordered, if this attack worked he could turn the tables.

Natu’s body and eyes were glowing a faint blue and Swablu also started to glow, but it prevented Swablu from moving while it was trapped high in the sky. Natu then quickly flew towards Swablu to hit it with a Peck attack. Swablu was hit and took a lot of damage. The glowing disappeared, but Swablu was too tired to fly and fell down from an immense height, luckily it opened its eyes and quickly flapped its wings to ascend. Swablu could hide itself easily with all the white clouds, while Natu was pretty easy to see.

“Swablu, use your Peck attack!” Kenshin ordered.

Swablu heard Kenshin’s command and flew down at and incredible speed, Kenshin saw it from below and he knew Natu couldn’t dodge it anymore. But Isao wasn’t giving up yet and ordered his Natu to Teleport, Kenshin quickly ordered Swablu to change its peck attack into an Aerial Ace attack, which Swablu agreed to and disappeared. Natu was focusing on its Teleport attack, but suddenly it was hit by an unseen force, and it fell down, and when the force became visible Swablu was happily flying after Natu. Isao knew he had lost and returned Natu to its pokeball, before it could crash into the earth.

“That was a great battle, Swablu, I am very proud of you.” Kenshin happily complimented.

<It was fun, but my enemy was very violent and pretty dirty> Swablu commented.

“The winners are Swablu and Kenshin!” the teacher announced.

After a while everyone had battled once, and the teacher was going to announce who would battle who. Emiko and Hanako were talking, Kenshin was taking a nap and Kenta was studying for the next test. Finally the teacher started to speak.

“The children who go to the quarter finals are, Hanako, Emiko, Kenta, Kenshin, Haruo, Eri, Hotaru and Kame!” the teacher announced. “The first children who battle are Emiko and Kenshin!”

“What?” Emiko shouted surprised as she looked at Kenshin.

“Let the battle begin!”

“Oh well, I choose Minun!” Emiko shouted.

“Mukkurru, come on out!” Kenshin yelled angrily, why did he have to battle her so soon, was Kenshin asking himself constantly.

“Minun, fire a Shock Wave at Mukkurru!” Emiko shouted smiling.

Minun gathered all the electricity around itself and fired it in one accurate shot. Kenshin shouted at Mukkurru to dodge it and Mukkurru quickly ascended and got higher and higher, but Kenshin didn’t know that, the attack Shock Wave never misses, the attack just keeps following its target until it hits. Mukkurru flew up into the clouds, followed by the Shock Wave, but the attack attracted all the electricity in the sky, so that boosted the attack’s power. After a while, Kenshin, Emiko and all the other children saw a yellow explosion and then a smoking Mukkurru falling down. Kenshin knew he had lost, but just when Mukkurru was about to hit the ground it spread its wings and crashed into Minun with an amazing speed. Kenshin was amazed at Mukkurru’s enduring ability.

“Great Mukkurru, now use Quick Attack!” Kenshin ordered.

“Minun, counter that attack with your Spark attack!” Emiko shouted.

Both pokemons took off, one at an amazing speed with a trail of white light behind it, the other one slower but engulfed with electricity. Minun was smirking, it knew it had an advantage, but was still amazed that its opponent, a flying type, survived a boosted electrical attack. Mukkurru who was tired, did not want to lose, as it would severely damage his ego, but he was worried when he saw the electric mouse coming after him. When the two pokemons finally reached each other, Minun suddenly jumped, and Mukkurru flew below it. Minun knew the time was right and fired a jolt of electricity, but it was no Thunderbolt, no Thunder Wave nor a Shock Wave, it was the most basic electric attack, a Thundershock. The attack hit Mukkurru hard, but he shook it off and came back with a Quick Attack, which hit Minun and severely damaged it.

“Minun, are you okay?” Emiko asked worriedly, but she then saw Mukkurru behind Minun , hoping to do some more damage. “Minun, jump and then fire a Swift storm below!”

Minun gave her an odd look, but she obeyed, and so she jumped up in the air and when she looked below she saw Mukkurru. Minun immediately fired lots of star-shaped rays at Mukkurru, who was hit several times, and then finally created a gust to blast Minun and the Swift attack away. Both pokemons fell on the ground, panting, but neither wanted to give up.

“Minun, use Helping Hand to heal your self!” Emiko shouted.

Minun happily started to twirl around, like it was dancing. Mukkurru looked strangely at Minun, he didn’t understand where Minun was going with this, but he discovered it pretty soon. Sparks started to appear around Minun and clouds drifted before the sun, blocking its rays, then suddenly a thunderbolt came down and hit Minun but instead of doing damage to Minun it was healed by the electricity. Mukkurru was shocked by this manoeuvre.

“Mukkurru, knock Minun over with a Wing Attack!” Kenshin shouted worried.

Mukkurru quickly obeyed and took of towards Minun, who had stopped dancing. While gaining speed Mukkurru wings started to glow and he was nearing Minun pretty fast. But Minun had seen him and ducked just in time, barely dodging the deadly blow. Minun was fed up, she was all dirty, and shot a deadly bolt of electricity after Mukkurru called Thunderbolt. Mukkurru looked behind just before he was going to be hit by the bolt of crackling electricity. When the bolt hit Mukkurru, a flash obscured everyone’s vision, but when everyone could see clear again, they saw a smoking Mukkurru lying on the ground, fainted. Kenshin walked over to his scorched pokemon and picked it up.

“You have fought well, Mukkurru.” Kenshin whispered disappointed.

<You only say that to make me feel a little better> Mukkurru muttered before he completely fainted.

“The winners of this battle are Emiko and Minun, congratulations!” the teacher announced.

Emiko walked together with Minun, back towards the group, she was congratulated on her amazing battling skills by everyone. Except for Kenshin, Kenta and Hanako who were worried about Mukkurru. Hanako greeted Emiko happily and said that she battled well, but Emiko was more worried about Mukkurru, but suddenly she had an idea.

“Kenshin, please lay Mukkurru on the ground, my Minun can heal it.” Emiko smiled.

Even if Kenshin was angry at her for doing this to his pokmon, he couldn’t resist her smile and laid Mukkurru on the ground. Emiko was happy about this, and told Minun to use Helping Hand on Mukkurru. When Kenta and Hanako heard that they began to worry, because Mukkurru was a flying type, so what if was damaged instead of healed, Mukkurru would be killed. But Kenshin trusted Emiko, he didn’t know why but he trusted her. Minun was already dancing again and dark clouds appeared again, and just like the previous time a lightning bolt came down and hit Mukkurru. When the clouds finally disappeared, everyone saw a confused Mukkurru sitting on the ground. Kenshin was relieved and instead of thanking her, he hugged her. Emiko who was a bit confused, was blushing furiously about this sudden action from Kenshin, but she then decided to hug him back.

“The next battle is between Hanako and Kame!” the teacher announced. “Let the battle begin!”

When Hanako heard her teacher she quickly left and ran towards the battle field, while Kenta stayed with Kenshin and Emiko who had stopped hugging each other and were now modestly looking in another direction. Kenta laughed, but in return received a slap from Emiko. The three friends then decided to watch the battle between Hanako and Kame. Kame had short brown hair and hypnotising red eyes, her dress had a mixed colour of pink and green.

“I choose Ralts!” Kame shouted while she threw her pokeball.

“Chikorita, come on out!” Hanako shouted smiling.

Ralts had a child-like appearance and its body colour was grey. It had green hair that concealed its eyes and on its head were also two red horns. The Ralts spoke with a soft voice, gentle and caring.

“Ralts, stop Chikorita’s movement with Confusion!” Kame ordered.

The two red horns started to glow, and after a while ralts started to glow too. Chikorita looked on nervously, but she was suddenly lifted from the ground and was trapped in mid-air. Chikorita struggled to free herself from the psychic grasp, but she didn’t succeed and she still floated in the air, helpless. Meanwhile Kame had ordered Ralts to slam Chikorita into a tree, Ralts obeyed and focused, it then threw Chikorita in the direction of a big, steady tree.

“Chikorita, use your Vine Whip to bounce off the tree!” Hanako shouted worried.

Chikorita quickly extended two of her seeds and used the vines to bounce off the big tree and so she landed softly on the ground, but Chikorita wanted revenge on Ralts and started to run towards Ralts. Ralts however noticed Chikorita and used her Confusion again to stop Chikorita from moving. This time Chikorita was prepared, and used her Razor Leaf to fire numerous sharp leaves at Ralts. Ralts used Confusion once more to stop most of the leaves, but still several hit Ralts, and because Ralts used Confusion on the leaves, chikorita was freed from the psychic trap and started running again, this time trying to knock Ralts over with a Tackle attack. Ralts defended itself by using the attack Double Team, to create numerous, identical copies of itself. Chikorita ran through a copy, which faded away immediately, after being touched.

“Chikorita, use your Razor Leaf at all the copies!” Hanako shouted.

Chikorita hit every copy with a single leaf but all copies faded away. Chikorita was confused and she didn’t get how the real Ralts had escaped her attack. Hanako didn’t know were the real Ralts was either, but actually Ralts had Teleported itself, right after Chikorita ran through a lifeless copy.

“Where is the real one?” Hanako asked confused, but suddenly she saw a little spot of grey, on a tree branch. “Quickly, Chikorita fire your Razor Leaf at the tree branch behind you!”

Chikorita turned around and fired numerous sharp leaves once more. They all hit the tree branch and it fell down, but again Ralts had disappeared, by using Teleport. Chikorita was frustrated by all this disappearances, but suddenly she got an idea. Chikorita swayed her leaf around a few times and then a sort of pink powder escaped the leaf. Apparently it was some kind of scent. Ralts who had Teleported herself behind the teacher, smelled the scent and hovered towards Chikorita. Chikorita smirked, by using the attack Sweet Scent she lured her own opponent towards her.

“Chikorita, finish Ralts with a tackle!” Hanako shouted confidently.

Chikorita smirked and took off, towards her enemy that was still induced by the Sweet Scent. Chikorita neared her target, and just when Ralts her mind had cleared from the scent she saw a smirking Chikorita running towards her but it was too late, Chikorita succeeded in her attack and Tackled Ralts pretty hard. Because of the impact, Ralts crashed into a wall, fainted.

<All right, I have won> Chikorita shouted happily. <Go Chikorita, go Chikorita>

“Great battle Chikorita, you can return to your pokeball now.” Hanako smiled happily.

<Go Chikorita, go Chikorita, go...oh right> Chikorita laughed embarrassed.

“The winners of this battle are Hanako and Chikorita!” the teacher announced. “The next battle is between Eri and Kenta!”

Kenta heard his name and walked to the battle field. With a confident look he looked at his opponent a girl with long blonde hair tied up in two ponytails. She had a playful smirk on her face, and it looked like she was going to laugh any moment. Her tank top was bright yellow, it blended perfectly with her cheerful appearance. Her skirt was plain and orange.

“Let the battle begin!” the teacher announced.

“Let’s go Pikachu!” she shouted happily.

“Go Bagon!” Kenta shouted confidently.

Out of a flash the little Bagon appeared again and ready for action. His opponent looked a bit like Emiko’s Plusle and Minun, however there were some differences. Its body was bright yellow and it had long, pointed ears, the tops of the ears were black. It had plain red cheeks and a tail shaped like a lightning bolt. On its back where a pair of dark brown stripes. Its black, beady eyes were so cute everyone would just scream.

“Pikachu, paralyse him with your Thundershock!” Eri ordered smiling.

The little yellow mouse charged electricity and then fired it as a jolt of electricity towards Bagon. The Thundershock hit Bagon, but he easily shook it off, and roared at its opponent. The Pikachu was shivering with fear when his opponent roared while Bagon smirked, his opponent didn’t seem a real challenge and he yawned.

“How rude, Pikachu use agility!” Eri shouted angry.

Pikachu quickly sped off and reappeared in various places. Pikachu then appeared on a tree branch and used a Quick Attack, which was boosted because it jumped off the tree branch and it knocked over the surprised Bagon, who received a lot of damage. Bagon got angry and fired a series of fire bullets, known as the attack Ember. The fire bullets reached Pikachu, but it simply dodged them and fired another jolt of electricity at Bagon. This time Bagon was really angry, a stupid, electric mouse was damaging his ego. Just when the Thundershock was about to hit him, he fired a green, glowing blast that easily deflected the Thundershock and kept going to hit Pikachu. Pikachu didn’t see the attack called Dragonbreath coming and was hit hard. After a while Pikachu just succeeded in shaking the attack off, but it received a lot of damage.

“Great Bagon, use your Ember to damage it some more!” Kenta ordered confidently.

Bagon fired another series of fire bullets towards Pikachu but again it dodged them, and then fired a big jolt of electricity towards Bagon. Bagon wasn’t scared and he thought he could shook off the attack, just like the previous one. However this attack wasn’t a basic like Thundershock, but a more powerful Thunderbolt attack, and it damaged Bagon severely. Bagon wanted to make Pikachu feel real pain, but he couldn’t move, he was completely paralysed. Eri smirked, the time was right.

“Pikachu, we have to knock it out with Skull Bash!” Eri ordered smirking.

“Oh no Skull Bash, quick Bagon, you have to get out of there!” Kenta shouted worried.

Bagon tried to move, but the electricity had immobilised him, he couldn’t escape. Bagon started to get a little worried, the attack Pikachu was going to perform was probably pretty powerful, and more important, his ego would be completely destroyed. Pikachu was glowing white, and prepared itself for its attack. Kenta was panicking a bit, Bagon would probably get hurt.

“Now Pikachu!” Eri shouted.

Pikachu dashed off at an incredible speed and it quickly neared Bagon, who was very scared and tried to get out of the way, but he didn’t succeed, and the only thing he could do was watching his loss coming closer, and closer.

“Bagon use Rage!” Kenta ordered smirking.

Just before Bagon got hit, he glowed red for a while and he then crashed into the wall from the sudden impact from that attack. Bagon fell on the ground, but he tried to stand up, he was panting and he had bruises all over its body. Eri was a bit surprised it managed to survive Skull Bash, but then the real surprise came. Bagon started to glow red and then suddenly started running towards Pikachu, who was also panting but didn’t have any bruises, when it looked up it saw its enemy glowing all red and ready to damage him. When Bagon reached its enemy he scratched, bit, tackled and damaged Pikachu. Pikachu forced a grin and then fell down, knocked out. Eri walked over to her fainted Pikachu and picked it up.

“Nice battle, it was an honour to battle you, Kenta Jun.” Eri said happily as she walked away.

“The winners are Kenta and Bagon, congratulations!” the teacher announced. “The children who have succeeded in getting to the semi-finals are Kenta, Emiko, Hanako and Haruo!”

All the other children who had already lost clapped their hands, they showed their admiration. After a short rest, the teacher called the four children who would fight in the semi-finals. Hanako looked nervous, Kenta relaxed, Emiko wasn’t really paying attention and Haruo just listened.

“The next battle will be between Emiko and Kenta!” the teacher announced. “Let the battle begin!”

“Give it your all Kenta, I will too, let’s go Plusle!” Emiko shouted confidently.

“I agree, go Bagon!” Kenta shouted calmly.

Plusle and Bagon both appeared out of a flash and glared at each other, Bagon was confident he was going to win, but Plusle had the skill to assist him in battle, actually the only thing that brought Bagon to battling was its pride, and maybe some skill. Bagon smirked, a while ago he had beaten an electric mouse, he would do the same with this mouse.

“Plusle, use Quick attack to make him dizzy!” Emiko ordered.

“Emiko, you should be a little more creative, Bagon use Ember!” Kenta ordered.

Plusle tried to run around Bagon and make it dizzy, but Bagon simply fired a storm of fire bullets that easily hit Plusle and resulted in an explosion. Bagon heard Plusle cry in agony and when the smoke cleared it saw Plusle sitting on the ground protecting one of its paws, which was probably burned. Bagon took off and tried to tackle Plusle, but when it hit, Plusle simply faded away, Bagon was confused, but saw Plusle sitting on a tree branch. Bagon grinned and fired another series of fire bullets, but when they hit Plusle, it again faded away, just like the previous one.

“You’re very tricky, Emi, using the attack Double Team for protection, that’s very clever.” Kenta complimented.

“Thanks, Plusle use Spark!” Emiko ordered smirking.

The real Plusle jumped out of the bushes engulfed with electricity and was quickly nearing Bagon, who was still a little confused. But when it saw the real Plusle coming, it couldn’t dodge in time and was hit by the electrical mouse. Bagon crashed into the wall, receiving some damage. Kenta started to get worried a little, Emiko probably had some other tricks up her sleeve.

“Plusle, use Rain Dance!” Emiko ordered.

Plusle started moving strangely and then began a weird dance. It worked as dark clouds blocked the bright rays of the sun. After a while a drop of water fell and most children tried to find cover in the little chapel. In the chapel you can still have a nice view of the battle, but some children just kept standing in the rain, of course after a while they were soaked but they wanted the best view.

“And now use Thunder!” Emiko ordered confidently.

Plusle fired a little jolt of electricity towards the clouds. Several lightning bolts came crashing down, multiple ones missed Bagon, but two in hit him. When the lightning bolts hit him, a flash obscured everyone’s view, and when the clouds disappeared, they saw a worn out Bagon lying on the ground with several scorch marks. However it didn’t faint from all the pain, Bagon was not going to give up easily. Bagon glared angrily at Plusle, but was worn out and didn’t look very scary.

“Bagon use Dragonbreath!” Kenta ordered.

Bagon gathered all the energy that was left in him and fired it in one big, accurate, green shot. Plusle deflected the attack with a Thunderbolt but the resulting explosion severely damaged Plusle. When the smoke cleared both pokemon were lying on the ground, one had scorch marks, the other on had several bruises on its body. Both pokemons tried to stand up, and after some glaring and growling, Bagon finally fell to the ground, knocked out. It took some time for Emiko to realise what happened, but then she jumped with joy.

“The winners are Emiko and Plusle, congratulations!” the teacher announced. “The next battle is between Haruo and Hanako!”

Emiko happily walked back to her friends and told them that it wasn’t easy to defeat Bagon. Kenta, who knew from the beginning that he would lose, also came back to his friends happily. They all greeted them, and Bagon who lay in the arms of Kenta complimented Plusle for putting up a good fight. Plusle returned the favour by saying that it’s very difficult to survive two lightning bolts in a row.

“Will Haruo and Hanako please come to the battle field?” the teacher asked. “The battle will begin in a few minutes!”

Hanako quickly rushed towards the battle field, hoping this would be an exiting battle. When she saw her opponent she backed off a bit. His hair was black and there was no emotion in his face. Hanako was a little scared, but quickly got over it. He wore a grey sweater and aquamarine-coloured pants. They greeted and returned to their side of the field.

“Let the battle begin!” the teacher announced.

“I choose Shuppet!” Haruo shouted calmly.

“Sunkern, come on out!” Hanako shouted.

Haruo’s pokeball exploded in a flash, and a ghost-like creature appeared. The pokemon that appeared had a dark, blue body colour and on its head a horn, its eyes had the colours blue and yellow. It looked scary, but when it didn’t move, Hanako figured it was probably nervous.

“Shuppet, fire a Shadow Ball!” Haruo ordered.

“That’s Haruo’s opening move!” a girl that watched the battle shouted. “He also used it against me!”

“Your opening move huh, well, Sunkern use Razor Leaf to deflect that Shadow Ball!” Hanako ordered.

Sunkern sleepily fired some leaves that easily deflected the orb of dark energy. The Shadow Ball attack was deflected and was now going in the direction of its own creator. Shuppet tried to dodge it but was hit, and crashed into a tree. Sunkern yawned, and then started to glow green. The green glowing then started to appear on Shuppet, but the attack called Absorb drained the energy of Shuppet and was added to the health of Sunkern who smirked.

“Okay Sunkern, use Sunny Day!” Hanako ordered confidently.

Sunkern, who was finally completely awake, fired a red energy beam at the sky. The sun suddenly shone much brighter and the speed and power of Sunkern were doubled. Sunkern then started singing a soothing melody, which sounded much like swaying grass. Shuppet’s mind was free from worries when he heard the song, and slowly dozed off. Sunkern wanted to finish this battle and was gaining sunlight. The attack Grasswhistle was very effective and Shuppet kept sleeping. When all the needed sunlight was gained, Sunkerns leaf started to glow and then shot out an immense beam of light. Shuppet who finally woke up saw the Solarbeam coming at him.

“Shuppet, use Protect!” Haruo panicked.

Shuppet created a green shield to protect itself from the Solarbeam, Shuppet tried to keep the protecting barrier in existence, but finally it was too much and the attack blasted right at Shuppet. When the light faded, a worn out Shuppet was still floating, but it had bruises all over its body.

<What, he’s still floating> Sunkern asked surprised. <How come he survived my Solarbeam?>

Shuppet, who forced a weak grin, finally fell down on the ground, knocked out. Haruo who was a little worried about his pokemon, ran over to Shuppet and picked it up, he then ran off, probably to nurse back the health of his Shuppet, was what Hanako thought.

<I thought so, nobody can survive my Solarbeam> Sunkern said yawning. <Well, I guess I can go back to sleep...>

“The winners are Hanako and Sunkern, congratulations!” the teacher announced. “Hanako and Emiko will face off in the final, please make yourself ready!”

After some talking and resting, both Emiko and Hanako walked over to their side of the field, they greeted each other and then they returned to their respective sides of the field.

“This is the final match, the children who will face off are Emiko and Hanako, both congratulations for reaching the final!” the teacher announced. “If you’re both ready the battle can begin!”

“I’m ready.” Emiko replied cheerfully.

“I am ready.” Hanako answered confidently.

“Then let the battle begin!” the teacher announced.

“Let’s go Chikorita!” Hanako shouted.

“I choose Plusle!” Emiko shouted cheerfully, she spun around and then threw her pokeball.

Both pokemon appeared and glared at each other, Chikorita wanted revenge for the last time and Plusle just wanted to prove that the previous match between them wasn’t just a matter of luck. Emiko and Hanako both glared at each other, but then suddenly Emiko smiled warmy, Hanako looked at her strangely, but decided they couldn’t stall the battle forever and so she made the first move.

“Chikorita, use your Vine Whip to grab Plusle!” Hanako shouted.

“Dodge those vines with Quick Attack, Plusle!” Emiko ordered.

Plusle took off with amazing speed and the white trail of light immediately appeared. Plusle was running around Chikorita who was trying to grab Plusle but it dodged the vines, Chikorita then used its vines to let Plusle trip, and it worked, Plusle tripped and fell in the dirt. Chikorita then quickly used its vines to grab Plusle, and lifted it in the air. Plusle struggled to get out of the trapping vines, but Chikorita didn’t let Plusle escape.

“Plusle use Thundershock to electrify Chikorita!” Emiko shouted worried.

Plusle obeyed and started to charge electricity and he then released it all trying to electrify Chikorita, but it didn’t succeed, because grass types are were almost immune to electricity. Chikorita then slammed Plusle against the ground, numerous times, causing Plusle to receive a lot of damage. Plusle was worn out and couldn’t take much more, but it wasn’t going to give up. Plusle’s tail started to glow, which meant it was going to use an Iron Tail attack, Plusle then slammed its glowing tail on the head of Chikorita who loosened its grip. Plusle quickly jumped out of the vines and returned to its own side of the field. Hanako was a bit surprised Plusle was still standing.

“Plusle, use Shock Wave!” Emiko ordered.

Plusle gathered all the electricity around it and combined it all in one accurate shot. Chikorita tried to stall some time before being hit, but it was too late, the attack had already reached Chikorita and electrified it. Chikorita fell down, smoking a bit, but immediately got up. Plusle taunted Chikorita a bit, something Plusle shouldn’t have done. Chikorita was really annoyed and was glowing white. After a while Chikorita dashed off, towards Plusle who was still amazed at how fast Chikorita was going. Just when Plusle regained its senses and tried to move away from the Skull Bash attack, Chikorita crashed into Plusle, both rolling and bumping into a wall. Chikorita who regained composure the first, jumped out of the way before Plusle could land a hit on Chikorita by using Thundershock. Both glared at each other but were also panting, Chikorita had some scorch marks from the electricity while Plusle had received several bruises.

“It is time....” Emiko said calmly.

“To end this battle.” Hanako finished.

“Use Solarbeam!” Hanako shouted.

“Fire your Thunder!” Emiko shouted.

Both pokemons gathered every bit of power that surrounded them. Chikorita’s leaf was glowing white, while Plusle was surrounded by sparks and crackling electricity. On one side of the field it was raining and lightning bolts came crashing down, while on the other side the sun was shining brightly and flowers swayed in the wind. Plusle fired its small jolt to the clouds and a big lightning bolt came crashing down, while Chikorita had collected enough sunlight and fired it at Plusle in one bright beam of sun energy. An enormous explosion was heard shortly after the pokemons landed their attacks. Everyone was blasted from the battle field. Hanako had flew in the bushes, while Emiko was sent flying and ended up on a tree branch. When the smoke finally cleared, an enormous crater could be seen in the center of the battle field, and two pokemon were panting heavily and they had multiple bruises all over their bodies. However, after a short time, Plusle fell down, knocked out. Emiko who had jumped out of the tree ran over to her worn out pokemon, while Hanako did the same with her Chikorita, who was still standing.

“The winners of our little tournament, are Hanako, Sunkern and Chikorita!” the teacher announced. She had just crawled out of the pool, completely soaked.

The sun was now setting and Hanako yawned, everyone quickly ran towards their homes, while Kenta, Kenshin, Emiko and Hanako were walking peacefully, chattering about today.

“I guess I and Emi go that way, it’s easier for us to reach our homes.” Kenshin lied. “Come on, Emi we’re going.”

“How romantic.” Hanako teased playfully.

Emiko slapped her and walked together with Kenshin on a sandy path to the left.

“I am going to spy on them, are you coming, Kenta?” Hanako whispered.

“No way, that’s too dangerous, I’m not going, see you.” Kenta said as he ran towards the bushes shoving them aside to reveal a tiny path, which was a shortcut to his house. Hanako climbed up on a tree and saw Emiko and Kenshin walking towards their houses. Suddenly she felt some weight on the tree branch and when she turned around she saw Kenta.

“Why did you come?” Hanako asked surprised.

“I was worried.” Kenta admitted. “If you want to spy on them, I will watch out for you.”

“You were worried about me.” Hanako asked blushing a little.

Hanako then beckoned Kenta to follow her. She jumped to another tree and looked at Kenshin and Emiko who had stopped by a little pool. They were looking at the beautiful reflection of the sun setting. Hanako was getting exited, but was disappointed when they walked further without a kiss, a hug or even some flirting. Kenshin said goodbye to Emiko and split up with Emiko. Emiko then suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind Kenta and Hanako. She grinned and disappeared again and reappeared before Hanako and Kenta, really surprising them.

“You thought I wouldn’t see you guys.” Emiko laughed. “I am an expert at climbing trees, why wouldn’t I notice you guys, I spotted you from the beginning, well now I am going to get some sleep.”

Emiko disappeared and fled into the leafy branches of Fortree city. Kenta quickly pointed out that they were just was stalking their own friends and he angrily walked down the stairs and marched away. Hanako was a bit surprised, but actually she knew she had deserved this. Hanako then quietly walked towards her home, watching the sun set, and she hoped she would get some well earned rest. She was already yawning.

Looks like you ran into the post size limit thing here. I would personally have split the chapter into two parts somewhere closer to the midpoint. For example, the situation with Quilava and the first few battles could have been Part 1, and the semifinal and final amtch could have made up Part 2, just so it doesn't seem so lopsided.

Your grammar is definitely getting better, and it wasn't really all that bad to begin with :) Just a few errors, but they don't detract from the story much at all.

Wow... Masaaki is a jerk. And his Quilava is just plain vicious. And crazy stalker wannabe boyfriend alert!

One question about the tournament; do the Pokemon get healed between matches. I know that most of the students who were in more than one battle used different Pokemon the second time around, but Kenta's bagon participated in two consecutive battles. I would think that its exhaustion would have affected its performance in the match.

This is looking really good, and it looks like they're having plenty of "adventures" without even leaving Fortree. I can't wait to find out what happens when Hanako and Co. hit the road!

Like DarkPersian479 said, this chapter could have been easily split in half. Then you could have spent more time with Masaaki and his problems before heading off to school.

It's great to see that your grammar is improving. I like how you are making an effort to improve, and for that, you get my respect. I wish you luck in learning the rest of the tricky rules of the English language!

This is great how I, as a reader, gets to learn more about the personalities of the characters before they start to travel. The adventures in Fortree as they deal with daily life make me anticipate the start of traveling!

Good luck to you! And by the way, just call me Hanako!

A strong desire

It was a dark, damp night. The bright, white moon was the only source of light. Everyone was sleeping peacefully. A tiny creature flew by a room, blocked the moonlight for a second and then flew towards a lush, evergreen forest. It looked like this creature was running away from something.Suddenly a scorching Flamethrower was shot towards the pokemon, that had succeeded in getting in the forest, avoiding the attack. Hanako woke up from the sudden brightness in her room, even if it was for a split second. Hanako tried to get back to sleep for a while, but she couldn’t. Hanako was a bit annoyed she didn’t fall asleep and decided to take a walk, it probably would clear her head. It wasn’t very warm so she chose a warm, green sweater, black pants and brown boots. She sleepily walked down the stairs, through the living room and finally got outside, yawning a bit. Sleepily, she quickly decided to go back to bed, but when she turned around and wanted to go inside, a blue paper flew into her face. Hanako took a closer look and she saw that a part of the paper was scorched. She remembered looking outside, to see what the Flamethrowers tried to hit. Another one was fired but was blocked by a blue barrier. The barrier could only be seen when something hit it. Hanako was pretty curious about this situation and decided to investigate it. She first packed her bag and then quickly ran outside towards the forest, but in her hurry she forgot her pokeballs.

After some walking Hanako reached the forest. In the night it looked a bit scary. A sign stood next to a little, sandy path that disappeared into the forest. Hanako tried to read the sign but the name on it was concealed by dust. Hanako used her hands to wipe the dust away and a name became visible. ‘Rage forest’ stood on the sign. Hanako wondered why it was called Rage forest. Just when she wanted to enter the forest she felt that the temperature was rising, meaning another Flamethrower was fired at the forest. Hanako quickly got out of the way and barely dodged the fire attack, but now she remembered that the barrier was blocking anything from getting in. Suddenly the paper she had picked up earlier started to float and glowed a faint blue. Hanako recognised the glowing as a psychic attack, but then the blue paper created a hole in the barrier. Now she could get into the forest, Hanako was filled with anticipation and quickly ran in. She forgot that when the paper was too far away the barrier would be restored. Outside, a boy came running towards the forest, his face filled with rage. He knocked on the barrier in anger but the barrier wouldn’t go away. Suddenly he recognised the barrier as a Safeguard. He grinned and released a pokemon. It had a rock-like appearance and a tough hide, it had muscled arms which ended in tough fists.

“Okay Geodude, Quilava couldn’t get through this barrier can you use Selfdestruct to break through this Safeguard attack!” the boy ordered harsh. The Geodude was a bit afraid, but then started to glow, the boy and his Quilava quickly got away. In the moonlight its face was visible and it revealed the face of Masaaki. Seconds later an explosion was heard and it looked like the barrier vanished. Hanako who had heard the explosion was scared and quickly ran away, but some time later she didn’t see an overgrown root and she tripped over it. Back outside a smoking Geodude was lying on the ground, Masaaki grinned and returned it. He then walked calmly into the forest. Hanako who had got up looked at all the plants that had grown very big and almost hid the path from the human eye.

“Wow, it looks like not very much people actually visit this place.” Hanako thought.

She then heard some noise from a little pool nearby. Hanako decided to take a look and hid in the bushes. When she looked she saw a whole collection of psychic pokemon, they had gathered there for an unknown reason. Some looked like Ralts, others were Natu, but she also saw a bigger version of Ralts. It looked like a young girl, but its skin was completely grey, its legs being an exception. It had green hair that split up in two ponytails, on its head stood two red horns. Its grey body ended in a short dress. Another pokemon was a darker grey creature, it had a pig nose and pink cheeks. On its head was a big, pink pearl which fitted perfectly between its little ears and its tail spun around and was used for moving, because the pokemon missed feet.

“Why would they gather here?” Hanako asked herself but was startled by a loud growl.

Hanako was scared and turned around, to face an angry wolf-like pokemon. It also had some features of a hyena. It had a grey body colour but some hair that grew on its back was much darker and almost black, its tail was the same colour. Its fierce, red, intimidating eyes were looked at its prey. All psychic pokemon got scared and quickly ran away while Hanako faced the hyena. It let out a hungry bark and happily looked at Hanako, who was shivering with fear. Some footsteps were heard in the distance but the hyena didn’t pay attention and grinned.

<Hmm, looks like I don’t have to hunt for a meal this time> the pokemon barked happily.

<Leave her alone> a pokemon shouted before bumping into the hungry hyena.

The pokemon that had protected Hanako had a snow-white fur. Its face was grey, its feet looked very strong and ended in sharp, black claws. The tail and a part of its head ended in a sharp point and were grey. Its red eyes were intimidating, but showed trust and courage. Hanako was surprised by this sudden protection but quickly started to run away. Then she saw the hyena coming closer. The white pokemon started to create tornados before itself and concentrated. The hyena quickly jumped towards its prey, but was knocked off its feet by some strong air currents called Razor Wind. The hyena decided to run and jumped into the bushes. The pokemon grinned and started to search for Hanako, meanwhile Hanako had tripped over another root and strangely ended up back to the place where all the pokemon from some time ago had gathered. Now the place was empty and there was no sign of life.

<Everyone has left, huh?> someone asked.

Hanako was surprised and shivering with fear she turned around, she saw it was the white pokemon that had protected her earlier. Hanako was relieved, lucky for her it wasn’t the hyena who had come back for his lunch.

“Who are you?” Hanako asked, a bit scared.

<My name is Destiny, > Destiny answered. <I am an Absol, my species is destined to foretell disasters>

<We appear to humans who are in danger> Destiny explained. <And danger is coming to you>

“What danger?” Hanako asked scared.

<I will try to get it in detail with the attack called Future Sight> Destiny answered and then its grey horn started to glow white and it vanished. Confused looked Hanako at the spot were Absol stood a second ago. A blinding light appeared and obscured Hanako’s vision. When Hanako could see properly again she saw a tired Destiny, trying to stand up. <You have to run, danger is coming this way, very fast>

“But, you’re hurt and....” Hanako replied worried.

<Go, this is for your sake and you are far more important than me> Destiny shouted angrily, scaring Hanako. Hanako quickly fled into the bushes, but turned around one more time to see Destiny getting scorched by a Flamethrower. When a boy came into view he happily looked at the scorched Absol, he laughed devilishly but then heard something in the bushes. Turned out it was Hanako who had broken a little stick by stepping on it. Hanako quickly jumped into a tree, the environment of Fortree city had done wonders for her condition and health. When she looked below, she saw a burning fire attack fired at a tree that was close to the place she stood before. Masaaki walked away calmly, together with its Quilava. When Hanako made sure they were far enough, she ran over to Destiny. Hanako broke down in tears when she heard no heartbeat.

The paper in her bag started to float again and Hanako quickly followed it. She stopped crying. One of her tears had fallen on Destiny. Suddenly the tear started to grow bigger and Destiny slowly got up, the tear disappeared and Destiny was fine, no burns, no wounds, nothing. Destiny still was shaking a bit, but suddenly he saw some drops on the ground. Destiny suddenly realised it, Hanako wasn’t just an ordinary child she was a... but then Destiny was blasted to the ground by a yellow beam, formed of pure energy. A grinning boy appeared from behind a tree, his Quilava smirking as well.

“So, what did you tell her!” Masaaki shouted harshly.

<I...she...you...are...the...fire...one> Destiny muttered worn out.

“Huh, the fire one, did you tell her that?” Masaaki asked wondering.

<No...I...can’t...stay...here > Destiny whispered while disappearing in a flash of light. Masaaki protected his eyes but couldn’t evade the blow of energy that was emitted by the teleportation of Destiny. Hanako, who hadn’t run away but hid herself in a tree close to the spot were Destiny lied. She saw Masaaki flying against a tree and angrily got back up. She wondered what Destiny meant with the fire one. Masaaki slowly recovered from the blow while its hand rested on the tree. He then slowly walked away with Quilava, who was a bit concerned about its trainer. Hanako made sure he was too far away to hear her anymore. She wanted to observe the place where Destiny disappeared, but something prevented her from walking and she smelled something. Hanako tried to remember the smell and suddenly she turned around and saw where the bad smelling scent came from, a scorched spot on a tree. But when she examined the area she saw that the smoking spot was where Masaaki’s hand had been a while ago. Hanako panicked and suddenly when she put her hand on it, the scorched spot healed and it looked healthy and steady again. Hanako looked strangely at her hand, suddenly the paper started to glow again and floated back towards the pool and the spot were the psychic pokemon had gathered. After running the whole way back to the place she tripped over a root and fell in the pool with a hard splash.

“Brrr, great, I am...I am not wet!” Hanako shouted surprised, and when she walked out of the pool, she saw clearly that her clothes weren’t wet, one of her feet was still in the water, and when Hanako took a closer look she saw a blue shield around it. She suddenly remembered the floating paper and started running towards it. Strangely, it kept floating before a stone tablet, Hanako hadn’t noticed that stone tablet stood there before. It looked dusty and was probably abandoned years ago, Hanako saw that a sentence was engraved in the stone, but she couldn’t read it. Even when she tried her best the only thing she saw was:

B. CA...U. W..T Y.. WI.. F.R

The paper started to glow and suddenly it merged with the stone. Hanako was surprised, and saw a little ray of the sun break through the leafy branches of the forest. She remembered, she was going to be late. Hanako ran away towards the exit of the forest and when she finally got out, she saw her brother and his Quilava lying unconscious. She decided to leave them alone and ran towards her home. But she didn’t saw that Masaaki and his Quilava were only faking it and they quickly got up and chased her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later on the day, Emiko had picked up Hanako at home, and together they reached school in time. All the children had a test and were now resting while the teacher was correcting their tests. The teacher then started to give the points of the children.

“The tests are pretty good, but some could do better, Kame 8/10, Eri 7.5/10, Kenta 10/10, Isao 5.5/10, Kenshin 9/10, Hanako 8.5/10, Emiko 7/10, Haruo 6.5/10.” The teacher said, before continuing. “Hotaru 9/10, Chika 7.5/10, Hiroyuki 9/10, Juro 6/10, Ume 5/10, Suzu 9.5/10, Yuki 7.5/10, Yori 8/10, Shuji 7.5/10, will everyone note that on its test list.”

All children quickly noted their scores on their test list, Emiko was happy because now the scores of their battles would be given. The teacher paused some time before she finally revealed their scores. She was a bit annoyed Isao had such a low score but was happy Kenta scored the maximum again.

“These are the points, Kame 8/10, Eri 9.5/10, Kenta 8/10, Isao 7.5/10, Kenshin 7.5/10, Hanako 10/10, Emiko 10/10, Haruo 8.5/10.” The teacher paused before she continued. “And now the rest, Hotaru 6/10, Chika 6.5/10, Hiroyuki 7/10, Juro 7/10, Ume 5.5/10, Suzu 6/10, Yuki 7.5/10, Yori 6.5/10 and Shuji 7.5/10, also note this on your battle test list.”

“And now we are all going to explore the natural environment, in the forest close by.” The teacher said.

She beckoned her class to follow her and after some time they reached the forest. The teacher informed the class about the mysterious pokemon who lived here and then calmly walked in, Hanako got a little scared by the forest, but she quickly marched in, together with Emiko, Kenta and Kenta. After some time they had seen various pokemon, but the class was really amazed when they saw a baby Absol, only Hanako didn’t look very interested, but of course she had already seen one from very close by. Suddenly she got an idea and calmly walked over to the little Absol, who became scared, but soon he wasn’t afraid anymore. Hanako was gently scratching its head horn. The whole class was amazed, even the teacher hadn’t seen any child who befriended pokemon so fast. But the class had to get on and the little Absol whined a bit until he saw a little Swablu, who he quickly chased. After a while they reached the pool where the psychic pokemon had gathered at night, but no traces were left from the sudden escape. Isao, who got bored after seeing Hanako befriending a wild Absol, simply walked another way, away from his teacher and the class. He came to an open spot in the forest, light fell through an opening in the trees, but in the center of this field was lying a cute, sleeping pokemon. It had a white body, but a yellow hat with two papers hanging on it, apparently one had gone missing. On its belly was a third eye that was closed. Isao tried to remember which pokemon this was, and suddenly it popped into its head. It was a sleeping Jirachi, he had read about it in Jotho. He walked towards it but stopped when the Jirachi started floating with its eyes still closed. Suddenly they opened and revealed very pretty eyes.

<I Jirachi, what your wish?> the Jirachi asked in a child-like voice.

“Huh....” Isao hesitated, but suddenly he knew what he would wish. “I want Hanako Yoshikazu to love me.”

<I sorry, love wish forbidden> the Jirachi apologised.

“No, it can’t be forbidden, we’re destined for each other, I want her to love me!” Isao shouted angrily. When he shouted this one of the papers on Jirachi’s head started to glow.

<Please, I can not> the Jirachi cried. <We accept wishes, but love wish only possible when both love, we help along>

“Let her love me!” Isao shouted angrily. Another paper on Jirachi’s hat started to glow.

<Stop, I not help you> the Jirachi cried.

“Hanako, you have to love me!!!” Isao fumed and then shouted at the top of its lungs. Hanako had heard the scream and her classmates had also heard it, the teacher quickly looked if everyone was with her. And noticed that Isao was missing. The stone tablet started to float towards the open spot and the class followed it. Hanako tried to read what was on the tablet but it still didn’t work.

“What are we going to do?” Emiko asked joyfully. “This run is good for condition, and it’s also very pleasant!”

“Emiko, please.” Kenta replied annoyed.

“Emiko, Kenta, Kenshin, it could be dangerous what’s going to happen to us now.” Hanako shouted worried.

“Really, how cool!” Emiko replied happily.

“Sometimes Emi, you’re unbearable.” Kenta fumed, a bit annoyed by Emiko’s behaviour.

While Hanako, Kenshin, Kenta and Emiko were chattering Eri tripped over a big rock and fell hard on the ground. Her sight got blurry and just before she passed out, a lot of screams were heard ahead of her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some time later Eri started to wake up and she felt some pressure on her back. When she turned around, the pressure disappeared. Eri got a closer look at the thing that was lying on her back and quickly recognised it as the little Absol from before. Eri quickly worried about her class and started to run ahead, hoping the class wasn’t too far away. She heard some shouts from the distance and walked hurriedly. When she reached it she saw all her classmates frozen and all their colour had turned grey. Only Hanako and Emiko still had their colour and were dodging purple beams of light. After a while Emiko was hit too and turned grey, the strange thing was that each time Hanako was about to be hit, a wall of water appeared and protected her. After a while she was too tired and she was also hit by the purple beam. When Eri looked at what was firing the beams she saw Jirachi engulfed in purple light.

<You leave me!> Jirachi shouted before firing a beam towards Eri and she too was frozen.

When Eri woke up she could move freely and had all her colour, but when she looked down she saw that she was floating. She looked around and saw Hanako, Emiko, Kenta and Kenshin floated towards her, probably to greet her.

“Hey.” Hanako said flatly.

“Hey, where are we?” Eri asked wondering. “This place is weird.”

“If you want information, ask the teacher.” Kenshin replied.

“This is so much fun, I’ve always wanted to fly!” Emiko shouted joyfully, apparently she wasn’t really bored or afraid and was happily enjoying herself. Eri, who wanted answers, quickly floated towards her teacher.

“Teacher, what is going on?” Eri asked wondering.

“Well, we are now residing in a dimension which was created by Jirachi, Jirachi is a legendary pokemon and have a protection state.” The teacher answered. “When they’re scared, hurt or angered they will attack everyone who is nearby.”

“Isao had apparently angered Jirachio, and turned Jirachi into a killing machine, this dimension is created to kill us, we can’t float around here forever and when you are here too long you will fall down.”

“What happens when they’re in that state?” Eri asked.

“Well legendaryies use their combined powers to create younger forms of themselves, you could call it reincarnating, but here the previous form doesn’t die, it simply gets younger.” The teacher answered. “When one of the two younger forms gets killed the other species is destined to disappear from the world, it will then wander around forever, but as a ghost.”

“How terrible!” Eri shouted.

“Indeed, but there is one way of helping the legendary.” The teacher replied. “If a living being is able to help the legendary, the two combined powers create a new one and a younger version from the one who still lived.”

“If you succeed, you will be blessed with the pokemons power, will be bonded with it forever and you can use the same attacks as the pokemon.” The teacher explained.

“How great!” Eri replied happily.

“Yes, but if the living being fails and does not have enough energy they will both die instantly and will wander around forever, but together.” The teacher replied sadly.

“I’m going to help it!” Eri shouted. “But, where is Jirachi?”

“It’s there, but are you sure you want to take the risk?” The teacher asked worriedly.

“I’m sure!” Eri shouted confidently and then quickly floated towards the real Jirachi.

“Hi, I’m Eri and I’m going to help you.” Eri said to Jirachi, who was surprised a bit by Eri.

<You help me, I happy> Jirachi smiled. <How you going help me?>

“Well, what if we combine our powers, or something like that.” Eri smiled embarrassed, she really didn’t think about that.

<Yeah!> Jirachi happily shouted and its hand started to glow. <Hold my hand>

Eri grabbed the little hand of Jirachi and together they started to glow, they both shot an immense beam of light at the darkness and a little opening was formed. Everyone quickly floated over to the opening and thanked Jirachi and Eri.

“I go first.” Eri said confidently and she jumped, everyone looked at the frozen form of Eri who suddenly started to move and she regained her colour. After a while everyone returned to the real world and all were really happy. But their happiness was short lived when a ring of fire surrounded them.

“What’s going on?” Hanako asked.

“I don’t know, but it’s starting to get hot.” Emiko replied cheerfully.

“Finally, I found you guys!” a dark figure merged from the flames. It face was revealed and it was Masaaki.

“What are you doing here?” Hanako asked angrily. “Wait, did you create that ring of fire?”

<That’s the attacker, he attacked me night> Jirachi shouted. <Eri, I bond with you to protect children>

Both Eri and Jirachi started to glow again and on Eri’s head appeared an orange headband with two blue juwels. She smirked and Jirachi floated next to her smiling.

“Let’s go, Shadow ball!” Eri shouted while creating a black sphere in her hand.

Eri threw it towards Masaaki and an explosion was formed, while he and Quilava were distracted the class fled and ran back towards school. Hanako was still thinking about the sentence on the stone tablet. While she was still thinking, the whole class praised Eri but she ignored them and ran towards Jirachi, giving it a hug.

“Jirachi, I will help you with reincarnating, okay?” Eri asked hopefully. “I’m already blessed with your power, so, why not?”

<Of course, you help me second time> Jirachi happily replied. <Wish will come>

“Of course!” Hanako shouted, interrupting Jirachi and Eri. “I know the sentence on the stone tablet!”

“What do you mean?” Kenta asked curiously.

“Well in the forest stood a stone tablet with an unreadable sentence on it.” Hanako explained. “But Jirachi helped me, I know the sentence.”

Because...

B. C...U. W..T Y.. WI.. F.R

Actually means.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

“So that’s how you figured it out, well anyway, Eri has to help Jirachi with reincarnating.” Kenta answered. “So please don’t interrupt them a second time.”

“Let’s get started Jirachi.” Eri said.

A ball of light formed between Eri and Jirachi and Jirachi then floated into it. Eri couldn’t hold the ball on her own very well and suddenly it exploded. Everyone feared for Eri’s life but she was safe and sound and in her arms were three young Jirachi, all sleeping peacefully. The first one woke up and immediately hugged Eri, apparently this was the Jirachi who became younger. The other two happily greeted each other and flew off through an open window.

After some time the teacher announced that the big tests were tomorrow, and that everyone needed to study hard in order to become a trainer. Some children were happy as were Kenta, Kame and others, some didn’t like it like Eri, Emiko, Hanako and others and some children were neutral about it like Kenshin. Isao wasn’t very happy about the news and in another class Masaaki wasn’t either. When school was finally over, Emiko came out happily, she was cheerful, like most times. Kenta and Hanako quickly followed while Kenshin was slowly coming too. They all decided to have a little tournament themselves for practice. They chose a spot just before the Mirage forest. The first battle was Hanako against Kenshin.

“This battle is between Hanako Yoshikazu and Kenshin Ayako, let the battle begin!” Kenta explained.

“I choose Chikorita!” Hanako shouted confidently, she spun around and then threw her pokeball.

“Let’s go Mukkurru!” Kenshin shouted and quickly threw his pokeball towards the field.

Out of the balls emerged two pokemon, one a grass type the other a flying type, Hanako was at a serious disadvantage. She fumed, she had to find a way to disable Mukkurru from flying, her Chikorita was a land type and not very good at fighting air types like Mukkurru who could fly constantly. When the flying type was too tired to fly it was an easy prey in battle. Kenshin smirked, this would be very easy even if he had chosen Swablu he had an advantage.

“Chikorita, try to grab Mukkurru with your Vine Whip!” Hanako ordered.

Chikorita extended two of its vines and tried to grab Mukkurru but it missed, Mukkurru flew up and dodged the attack fairly easily. Mukkurru smirked and started to flap it wings in order to create a devastating tornado, but now it was Chikorita who smirked, and extended its vines once more and succeeded in grabbing Mukkurru’s tail. Mukkurru was surprised and couldn’t react properly, Chikorita then slammed him against the tree. The tornado quickly vanished after Mukkurru crashed into a tree and now Chikorita was in the lead. Mukkurru tried to fly, but a stinging pain in its left wing held him back, apparently Mukkurru’s left wing was badly injured when it was slammed against the tree. Kenshin was at its weakest point now.

“Great Chikorita, now grab it with your Vine Whip again and throw it into the sky!” Hanako ordered confidently, this was going great. Mukkurru was weakened and couldn’t fly anymore.

Chikorita quickly grabbed Mukkurru again and then threw it sky high. Meanwhile in the air Mukkurru was thinking, maybe he was too weak but his thoughts were interrupted by a voice.

<Don’t worry Mukkurru, I will help you, if a flying type gets this high I have to help, heal or inform it> a voice said. <And it seems you can use some healing>

<No, I will fight my own fight, I am sorry> Mukkurru apologised. <You’re probably the god of air, aren’t you>

<Indeed, I am Rayquaza, but I can’t force you to accept my wish> Rayquaza responded before he finally emerged from a big, fluffy cloud.

It had a serpent-like appearance, its body colour was green, on its body were strange yellow symbols. Its two arms weren’t long, but looked very strong and its long tail was probably a deadly weapon. Its four horns on its head, two under and two above were also green.

<I am honoured to meet a flying type, that doesn’t want to cheat> Rayquaza replied. <More others have reached this height and all of them chose the easiest way> Rayquaza apologised. <I hope we will meet again, Mukkubird>

<Mukkubird he said, how strange, oh no the battle> Mukkurru said when he started to glow. <I will help Kenshin and I will win the battle>

Mukkurru was now completely engulfed in white light and its form slowly changed and grew bigger. When the glowing stopped a pokemon with a grey body, a white and belly and a tail with black and white colours. Its injury seemed to have healed too, he could fly again and his talons were much bigger now too. Rayquaza smiled when Mukkubird quickly descended towards the battle field. Why did it take so long for Mukkurru to fall down, Hanako asked herself but suddenly she saw a silhouette in a cloud. When everyone had a clear look a brand new Mukkubird landed before Kenshin.

“Is that my Mukkurru?” Kenhsin asked amazed. “It is my Mukkurru, you evolved.”

“Oh no, its injury seemed to heal as well, Chikorita watch out.” Hanako panicked.

“Mukkubird use Aerial Ace!” Kenshin ordered quickly.

<My pleasure> Mukkubird replied happily and then disappeared in a flash of light, a moment later Chikorita was slammed to the ground by an invisible force, which was Mukkubird, who quickly returned to his side of the field. Chikorita had received some bruises from that last attack, but she wasn’t going to give up easily. Her temper quickly got the better of her and she fired numerous sharp leaves at Mukkubird, but he simply dodged them after using agility, most leaves hit trees. This was a great advantage for Chikorita, she was going to try the same strategy as in the battle against Plusle. She fired another series of sharp leaves but again they were dodged and hit heavy tree branches, one already fell down and crashed into its back, pinning Mukkubird to the ground.

“Chikorita use Tackle!” Hanako ordered confidently, the tables were turned again.

Chikorita dashed off and quickly neared Mukkubird, who was helpless and couldn’t evade the blow. The tree branch came off and Mukkubird ascended to the skies again, but Chikorita used Razor Leaf once more and a lot of tree branches fell down. Some were evaded by Mukkubird, but after some time it was trapped under a lot of tree branches. Chikorita was also hit and pinned to the ground. Even Kenshin, Kenta, Emiko and Hanako had to dodge some. Chikorita quickly freed herself by using Razor Leaf and stood up again, Mukkubird was still trapped but it used Aerial Ace to escape and to damage Chikorita some more. This time Chikorita was prepared and suddenly they heard a hard crash, apparently Mukkubird had crashed into a reflect attack. Both pokemon were tired and panted hard, their bodies were heavily bruised, but still they didn’t go down.

“Mukkubird use quick attack and make it count!” Kenshin ordered.

Mukkubird took off and was quickly followed by a trail of white light, but both had forgotten the reflecting mirror and Mukkubird crashed into it a second time, and it still didn’t disappear. Chikorita smirked at least, she was protected for a while and fired some leaves at Mukkubird, but Mukkubird blew them back with a gust of wind and Chikorita was hit hard by its own attack. Apparently the Reflect attack only protected Chikorita from psychical attacks.

“Now use Gust!” Kenshin ordered.

Mukkubird flapped its wings and a second tornado was created. It slowly neared Chikorita and then sucked her inside. Mukkubird also entered the tornado and when it vanished a tired Mukkubird fell down and a fainted Chikorita crashed into the ground.

“Chikorita is unable to battle, Mukkubird and Kenshin are the winners!” Kenta announced.

“You fought really great Chikorita, you can rest now.” Hanako said softly while returning Chikorita to her pokeball.

“The next battle is between myself and Emiko Saboru!” Kenta announced before leaving his place and going to his side of the battle field.

“Let the battle begin!” Kenhsin announced before he even reached his stand.

“I choose Electrike!” Kenta shouted before throwing his pokeball.

“I choose Minun!” Emiko shouted joyfully, she jumped and threw her pokeball on the battle field.

On the field appeared two pokemons, one was the electric mouse from previous battles but the other one was completely new to the group, except for Kenta. This pokemon was green and had three horns on its head, the middle one was the biggest and the other two had yellow stripes running across them. Its four limbs were rather short and its tail was short and also had yellow stripes. It let out a scaring bark and started to crackle with electricity.

“Minun use Spark!” Emiko ordered cheerfully.

Minun alsostarted to crackle with electricity, but much more intensely than Electrike. Minun suddenly fired a little jolt at Electrike which missed. Electrike followed the little jolt until it scorched a spot on a tree, but this was just so Electrike wouldn’t be paying attention. Electrike turned around and just saw Minun engulfed with electricity before being hit and knocked against a tree.

“That was great, paralyse it with Thunder Wave!” Emiko ordered happily.

Minun collected a little amount of electricity and fired it all in a tiny bolt. The tiny bolt quickly reached Electrike and hit it, but the electricity was absorbed by Electrike and was fired back at Minun with much more power. Minun was hit by a striking thunder and had some scorch marks when the electricity faded.

“That didn’t work, use Quick Attack!” Emiko ordered unsurely.

Minun was seeking revenge and quickly disappeared in a flash of light, she appeared behind Electrike and disappeared again when Electrike turned around. Minun appeared in the skies suddenly and with dazzling speed, it rushed off towards Electrike completely engulfed in white light, almost too blinding too see. Electrike who was still confused, was hit hard in his back and flew into the river, but the current was too strong and Electrike almost drowned. Kenshin called the battle off and the whole group ran after Electrike who struggled to remain above the water. Suddenly a group of pokemon jumped out of the water and prevented the group from going farther. Some were little and had a big, green broad leaf on their head and six feet, other were bright green and also had a broad leaf on their head and their arms were long. They all fired a stream of water and the whole group had to duck if they didn’t want to be blasted away. The whole group quickly started to run and jumped over the pokemon, but one of Kenshins feet was grabbed and he fell to the ground, losing consciousness. Emiko cried a second and then angrily released her Plusle and Minun to defend herself against some water blasts. She quickly ordered them both to use Spark and paralyse them.

“Go further, I will help Kenshin!” Emiko shouted while ordered another Spark attack defeating some more Lotad and Lombre. Hanako and Kenta understood and ran further, following the stream. Emiko didn’t survive very long against the army of water pokemon and she too was slammed against the ground, together with Minun and Plusle. Hanako and Kenta still followed the river, hoping they would find Electrike pretty soon, but suddenly Hanako was knocked to the ground by a water blast. She quickly got up and turned around, to see some more Lotads and Lombre’s who all angrily fired a Water Gun towards Kenta and Hanako. They both couldn’t evade it and they were blasted into the river. Kenta didn’t survive very long underwater and started to drown, Hanako grabbed him and tried to swim to the surface, but she too needed a breath of air. Just when she reached the surface and got a breath of fresh air, she was pulled underwater. When she turned around to see what had pulled her down, she saw an enormous Tentacruel. It looked like a jellyfish and its body was black, one of its brown tentacles had grabbed her feet and pulled her down, its three red jewels on its clear, blue head were bright red. Its long pointy nose was also blue. Just before Hanako fainted she saw a little green dog that was trapped in one of the other tentacles. Her sight got blurry and the last air escaped her mouth. When Hanako was unconscious a long beige creature tackled the jellyfish out of the water. Hanako woke up and saw that they weren’t in the water anymore, she grabbed Electrike and Kenta and gently put them on the ground, a few meters away from Tentacruel who was on the verge of collapsing. It needed water and Hanako decided to help it.

“Let’s go Chikorita!” Hanako shouted before throwing her ball on the ground.

Once again the leaf pokemon emerged out of its pokeball, almost completely healed from the new attachment to the normal pokeballs, the healing system. Hanako asked it to use its Vine whip to throw Tentacruel back into the water. Chikorita obeyed and easily lifted Tentacruel and threw it into the water, some seconds later the jellyfish happily emerged from the water waving some of its tentacles and then disappearing underwater. Kenta also woke up and he joyfully picked up its new friend and then quickly walked home. Hanako laughed embarrassed and then looked at the beautiful river, just when she wanted to go too, a long creature emerged out of the water. Its body was beige and it ended into a mermaid-like tail, on its head was a horn and two antennas. Its elegance was blinding and red two hair-like streams on its head.

<I’m happy I could save you> the pokemon smiled with a soft voice.

Hanako waved her hand and then quickly ran after Kenta. When they finally reached Emiko and Kenshin, Kenta’s cheerfulness had faded and it calmness appeared again. They all greeted each other and talked some more.

“Now that I think about it, where did you get this Electrike?” Hanako asked curiously.

“Well that happened tonight, in Rage forest.” Kenta explained. “I decided to take a walk to get some fresh air, the nights are always cold and refreshing after a warm day....”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kenta was walking on a sandy path and heard a scream. Kenta got scared and quickly ran away from the sound, suddenly he reached an open spot in the forest where light fell through an opening in the trees. A green little pokemon was lying there, injured. Apparently it had fought a tough opponent. Kenta walked towards it, worried about it, suddenly he turned around, he heard something. He saw nothing, maybe it was just it imagination. He picked up the little pokemon and turned around but two angry insect-like pokemon prevented him from going anywhere. The first one had a grey body colour, it walked on four feet, the first two were bigger and were brown, apparently it used it whiskers for detection, the second one was probably the evolved one. This one had a brown body colour and two arms, its face was concealed behind something that looked like a mask, its wings were flapping very fast and where white, the tips were red.

Kenta felt unsure and suddenly ran off in the opposite direction, trying to escape from the two beetles. The evolved one quickly caught up with Kenta and fired a Shadow ball at him, but Kenta quickly stopped and so the beetle flew some meters further obliterating a tree with its attack. Kenta didn’t want to share the same fate with the tree and ran back, however this time the other land beetle blocked its path. It suddenly fired a fine, white string at Kenta, who quickly dodged the string and jumped over the beetle. This cycle was repeated a few times and after a while the beetle was completely engulfed by its own string. Kenta laughed and ran off, back towards the place where he had found the little, green dog, but when he reached it an unpleasant surprise awaited him, the flying beetle was back. It fired another Shadow Ball, which was again dodged by Kenta and apparently the other beetle had also followed him and was now hit by the attack. The flying beetle didn’t pay any attention to Kenta anymore and comforted the little beetle. Kenta decided to leave them alone and ran off.

He reached the little pool, where Hanako was spying a little earlier and decided to rest. The little dog creature was healed and happily jumped out of Kenta’s arms. Kenta happily greeted the little pokemon and introduced himself. Suddenly a stick broke, apparently this was Hanako but Kenta freaked out and quickly left the pool and ran towards the exit.

When he finally got out, the Electrike had grown attached to him and didn’t leave him alone, finally Kenta decided to keep him as his own pokemon. Happily they both returned to Kenta’s home and got some well deserved sleep after being chased by an angry Zigzagoon, whose tail was injured by Kenta’s foot.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I see, well I think we deserve some sleep too.” Hanako replied. “Isn’t that right Emiko?”

Hanako looked at the area surprisingly, they both had left her alone the whole time while she was listening to Kenta’s story. Hanako angrily stomped her foot at the ground and screamed at the top of her lungs.

“How rude, huh, Kenta?” Hanako asked angrily.

When she looked around a second time Kenta had also disappeared. She screamed again, and in Fortree city Emiko, Kenshin and Kenta were all laughing before dozing off to sleep. Hanako was really angry and decided to take revenge the next morning and angrily she marched off towards her home.

Don't worry about one-star rating; some folks here are jealous/stupid and rate fics one star for no reason.
I think that's what happened to my fic being rated one star.

Anyhoo, this fic is great! Did you say this was your first? Wow! I really like it. It doesn't seem so cliche either. Great description too. Better than me, lol.

Well, this is turning out to be quite different from the normal journeyfic. A few grammar errors pop up every now and then, but it's not anything to worry about.

Just watch your use of legendaries. If not incorporated into the story properly, they can wreak havoc. I don't see any problems thus far, but just be aware that they can mak or break a fic if included.

It does look like both Masaaki and Isao had their roles in ticking Jirachi off. And that alternate dimension... spooky and creepy, but in a good way, if that makes any sense.

The finals are approaching and the premise for the adventure is shaping up. I just hope the kids don't try to pull all-nighters. I've done too many all-nighters in my residence hall study lounge...

Good job here, keep it going!

shove 'er in! ;O

^^^^Space your paragraphs out a bit. You were describing the scenery then you get to her getting annonyed etc....

Well I do like it! It seems pretty original and not the usual trainer fic every one is doing.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

Testing children

It was early, very early, the sun was just rising. The bright rays completely illuminated Fortree city. Everyone was sleeping, some were snoring very hard, others didn’t make a sound. All people in Fortree were enjoying their sleep, except for one girl. In a room a girl was busy with her hair. When she was finally done combing her long, brown hair streamed down towards her waist. She grabbed a red ribbon and tied her up hair in a ponytail. She grinned and quietly sneaked out of her room. She checked if anybody was awake yet and slowly walked towards the living room, and then the kitchen to drink some water. She opened the door that led outside. It was damp, the sun was mostly hidden by the leaves, and it was cold.

She took a breath of refreshing air and then jumped on a tree branch. She grabbed another one and swung towards a house in the distance. She landed on a big tree branch and could easily see the whole house. It looked like nobody was awake. She searched for a hole in the roof, hoping to enter the house. Unfortunately she misplaced a foot and fell on the roof. She searched further and then saw a little opening under some leaves. She pushed the leaves aside and a hole was visible. She noticed that the leaves were black, apparently this was the chimney, and that this was probably the best way to enter the house. She jumped into it and fell soft on a pile of ashes. She got up and walked through the living room. The stairs were a bit difficult to find but she finally found them, next to a big cupboard. Everyone was still sleeping. Only a blonde girl got up from her bed and sleepily walked towards the bathroom.

“That’s Emiko.” The girl thought, and just before she wanted to go into her room she heard something. A dark shadow sneaked after Emiko and followed her.

“Wait, that can’t be!” The girl gasped. She tried to grab her pokeballs but she quickly realised that she had left them in her room. When she looked again the shadow had disappeared and Emiko emerged out of the bathroom, returning to her own room. The girl was relieved, maybe the shadow was just her imagination. Suddenly she was grabbed and pulled backwards, she turned around scared and saw the person.

“Masaaki!” Hanako screamed. “What are you doing here?”

“That’s exactly what I wanted to ask you.” Masaaki responded harshly. Emiko, who had heard the scream and recognised both voices, quickly ran over to her mobile phone to call for help. She pressed some numbers and waited for an answer.

“Hello?” A young girl asked. “Who is speaking?”

“To Emiko Saboru, the older sister of Taro, I need help!” Emiko answered. “Bring Kenta!”

“Okay!” The girl responded joyfully and she ran off, dropping the telephone. Emiko heard the girls voice and some noise, then it was quiet again. A window broke in her room and two persons emerged. A boy with black hair and a girl with short brown hair.

“We’re ready!” The girl screamed happily. “Why did we have to come actually?”

“Be quiet Eiko, what’s the matter Emiko?” Kenta asked worried.

“Masaaki is here, and Hanako too!” Emiko panicked. “She’s in danger, I don’t know what they were doing here but we have to do something!”

“Okay.” Kenta said ran outside together with Eiko and Emiko.

When they were in the hall a trail of scorch marks led downstairs. Emiko got worried, maybe Quilava was now chasing Hanako, and Emiko didn’t want Hanako to be hurt, she wore a determined look on her face. When they wanted to go down a soft voice spoke from behind a door. A boy emerged from the room. Eiko’s eyes immediately filled with hearts, when she saw Emiko’s younger brother, Taro.

“What’s going on here?” He asked sleepily. “Wow, did you make all these scorch marks, Emiko, mom is going to be furious.”

“Someone really dangerous is in the house, Taro.” Emiko said worried. “Want to help?”

“Sure, I’ll be right back!” Taro shouted excited and he rushed back inside his room. One second later he had changed his clothes and picked his pokeball.

When they all ran downstairs, Taro asked what was happening and was terrified when he heard about the vicious Quilava and his trainer. When they checked the living room a horrifying scene was before them. Hanako hung against the wall and was tied with lots of rope, her body was covered with bruises and burns. Everybody quickly walked over to help her, but were blocked by a Geodude and a Quilava who were looking at the group with a smirk. Masaaki showed himself and confidently walked over to Kenta and Emiko.

“Frankly I was planning to burn you little girl, but then I discovered my sister and decided to have some fun.” Masaaki smirked. “My Quilava really enjoyed himself.”

“Now I have two other losers to burn, it is my lucky day.” Masaaki laughed devilishly.

“How dare you do that to her!” Emiko screamed, she walked towards Masaaki and touched him with one finger. Emiko quickly collapsed after that, but the results of touching Masaaki were amazing. Masaaki was completely frozen. Taro and Eiko gasped while Kenta walked over to the collapsed Emiko and helped her to stand up. Quilava jumped towards Kenta, with his teeth bared but somehow a rock was created when Kenta hold his hand to block Quilava. Taro and Eiko decided that it was time to do something themselves because their older siblings had collapsed and Geodude was still around.

“Let’s go Oddish!” Eiko shouted and threw her pokeball on the wooden floor.

“I choose Machop!” Taro shouted confidently and threw his pokeball in the air.

Both pokeballs exploded and out of a flash appeared two pokemon. The first one had a round, tiny body and was dark blue, its eyes were a bright red, its feet were pretty big and it missed hands, its last feature were five, bright green leaves showing that this pokemon was a grass type. The second one had a boy-like appearance and its body was grey. Its eyes were red and on its head were three tiny, beige horns, its arms and legs were muscled. They glared at their stone-like opponent. Just when Eiko and Taro were about to command an attack, Geodude started to glow and an explosion was triggered. Eiko, Kenta, Taro and Emiko were blown away while the wall where Hanako hung was completely destroyed, and she fell on the floor.

Eiko and Taro were hanging on a tree branch out of the house and it was breaking. Emiko tried to save them by grabbing Taro’s hand but she just missed them. One of her tears fell down and suddenly stopped in mid air, expanded and became a platform. Taro and Emiko landed hard on the platform and were happy that they were save, but...their happiness was short lived as the platform started to break. Emiko got up from the floor, grabbed a tree branch and swung towards Eiko and Taro who were shivering in fear. Just when it broke, Emiko succeeded in grabbing Taro’s hand. They all swung towards a pile of leaves and closed their eyes.

Taro let go of Emiko’s hand and landed in the pile of leaves, Eiko quickly jumped after him and fell also on the leaves. Emiko swung though the pile of leaves and crashed into a tree. She had a few bruises but she was okay. Kenta and Hanako who also woke up had seen the whole landing manoeuvre and were now lying on the wooden floor, laughing. Emiko got up and searched for her brother and his friend. When she finally found them she was a bit tired, apparently Taro and Eiko always crawled to a different place to evade Emiko.

“Come on Taro, we’re going back.” Emiko said a bit annoyed. “Oh, and don’t forget your girlfriend.”

Both Taro and Eiko blushed and shyly looked the other way. They decided to walk behind Emiko, still having a face as red as a chilli pepper. When they reached Emiko’s house, the parents of Emiko and Taro had already got up and where repairing things and stuff. Hanako and Kenta helped a little, after all this was their fault. After a while most of the damage was repaired and Kenta and Eiko had gone home, getting ready for school. Hanako also decided to leave and change her clothes, wash her face and study some more. Emiko was going back to sleep and Taro was making himself ready for school.

After some time everyone was ready and ran off to school, especially Emiko who had overslept. They all arrived at school in time, and chatted about the exam they were going to have in a few minutes. Isao tried to win Hanako’s heart once again but failed miserably as he received a kick in his most vulnerable place. The bell rang and everyone rushed towards their class. The whole class was patiently waiting for their teacher to arrive. The door opened and their teacher appeared. Her short brown hair was combed an hour it seemed, she wore a pretty, purple dress with flowers on them and white high heels.

“Good morning class.” The teacher greeted and walked over to her bureau. She sat down and called two children. She ordered them to deliver the papers and that she would explain the rules and the questions.

Hanako was a bit confused by the first question but quickly understood, she was amazed when she looked at all the questions, they were all so difficult. Kenta looked confidently at the paper with a big smirk. Emiko was already dizzy when she read the first question and Kenshin remained calm, like most times.

“Good class, this is your knowledge exam, this exam is split up into three papers and are each of an other level of difficulty.” The teacher explained calmly while she walked around. “The first one you got is the hardest part.”

“Why do we start with the most difficult?” Hanako asked confused.

“I’m glad you ask.” The teacher replied. “You see, if children get the hardest test first, they will be relieved when its done, even if it went wrong or right the children will be getting easier questions on the next paper.”

“So that has a calming and relaxing effect.” The teacher finished.

“That’s nice.” Emiko responded.

“Good, the exam starts now, please be ready for the next paper in thirty minutes.” The teacher announced and walked back to her desk, correcting some tests of the previous days.

Hanako was a bit confused about some questions, after all, this whole region was new to her. After the test she got a pretty good score. Emiko was sweating on every character she wrote on the paper. Her test was not bad, but not surprisingly good either. Kenta solved every question in less than a minute and was done in less than ten minutes, his score was still amazing. Kenshin simply solved every question with a straight face, not worrying on every question. By remaining calm he had a clear mind and easily solved the questions and got a pretty good score on his test also. Isao did not show any emotion either, only when he looked at Hanako his mind filled with happiness. Because of this he didn’t understand some questions, his score was enough to get a trainer licence but then he had to score much higher points in the next categories. The teacher corrected every test and calmly noted them in a book where all the points from all her students were written. She then gave the students their tests back and then wrote their scores on the blackboard and then said the three children who scored the highest. Everyone read the scores.

Emiko was relieved. She didn’t score below seventy like last year so she was really happy. Emiko was also the closest to eighty, and the teacher was right, she already felt better. Hanako was very happy, she was a new girl here and she scored above eighty. Kenshin finally showed some emotion and was happily singing that he had a very high score. Kenta was as happy as Kenshin was but more, he was second, but he didn’t mind. The teacher asked everyone to sit down again and she delivered the next series of tests. This time the difficulty level was average. Emiko was a bit more relaxed now and tried to solve some problems already. Hanako wasn’t paying attention and was looking at Kenta, she was blushing a bit. Kenshin had calmed himself down and was patiently waiting for the teacher to announce the start. Kenta was as calm as before and smiled when he saw the questions. Isao was not very happy with his score and hoped this test would go better. The time limit was twenty minutes and after a while everyone had finished their exam and gave them back to their teacher. Meanwhile everyone was relaxing or chatted a bit with their friends. Emiko and Hanako were really busy with chatting and the subject always changed after some time.

“Hanako, I saw you staring at Kenta like that, is something going on between you guys?” Emiko whispered curiously.

“What?” Hanako asked, blushing furiously. “Of course not.”

“Really, I don’t think so.” Emiko responded happily.

“Oh, come on, you were blushing too when you were looking at Kenta, this morning.” Hanako replied happily, Emiko backed off a bit after Hanako’s comment. “When I was sitting beside him he looked at you worried and you noticed him.”

“Come on, Hanako that’s not funny.” Emiko responded annoyed.

“And Kenshin also seems to have a soft spot for you.” Hanako laughed. “Emiko, you’re going for two boys at one time.”

“Hanako, stop it.” Emiko replied. Her face was completely red.

The teacher announced the scores, wrote them on the blackboard and then gave back the tests. Emiko curiously looked at the points now, Hanako and Kenta were also looking at the other scores. Kenshin simply looked at his place and his score. The whole class read the scores.

Kenshin was a bit shocked because Hanako had passed him, but got over it in no time. Emiko was running in circles, so happy that she had such a high score. Hanako didn’t believe her eyes, she actually scored higher than Kenshin, and she was with five best students for this difficulty. Kenta had defeated Kame this time with his higher score, he was a bit surprised that Hanako had surpassed Kenshin and was one place lower than Kame. The teacher quickly announced the beginning of the last knowledge test, with the difficulty level easy. Everyone didn’t have trouble with the questions and quickly solved the problems. The time limit was ten minutes so everyone had to hurry up. The teacher was correcting the last tests while her students were grabbing a bite. The teacher got up and she wrote the scores on the blackboard once more and then delivered the tests. Everyone was looking at the black board.

“I must say I am very pleased with the scores.” The teacher informed. “I have all the complete scores, and I will write them on the black board.”

The teacher wrote all the scores on the board and then walked back to her desk, to rest a bit. Everyone looked at his result and most where pleased with their scores, some weren’t but most were as happy as they could be. Hanako was very pleased, Emiko screamed the whole time that she had a great score, Kenshin smirked at his score and looked quite pleased and Kenta just looked at his score, he looked like he already knew the outcome.

“The first exam is done, in a while we will start the second exam.” The teacher announced. “But first we will pause and rest a bit.”

Everyone was tired, some even fell asleep were they were standing. The ones who were awake then moved the person to a soft spot in the class. Hanako and Emiko were anything but tired and happily chatted about the exam, their crushes, the ones who had crushes on them, the next exam and home. Kenshin had fallen asleep in his chair, apparently he was more tired than he thought he was. Kenta was reading a book on communication as practice of the communication exam, in the middle of the book he too fell asleep. The teacher returned and everyone quickly greeted her. She said that the next test was the battle test and it would be done outside. Emiko cheerfully followed her teacher while Kenta and Kenshin sleepily followed her. Hanako and Eri were chatting about Jirachi and how cute the headband looked on Eri. Finally they reached the battle field. The teacher explained that they all had to fight her. The children were a bit nervous about this, they didn’t know which pokemon she would use.

“Okay, the first one who will battle me is....” The teacher said before finally picking someone out. “Kenta.”

“Oh, great.” Kenta sighed before walking towards the battle field, he shook hands with his teacher and walked back towards his side of the field.

“Let’s begin, go Kecleon!” The teacher shouted before throwing her pokeball.

“Electrike, come on out!” Kenta shouted when he threw his pokeball on the field.

Both balls exploded and out of a flash appeared an electrical dog-like creature and another pokemon. This pokemon looked a bit like a chameleon. Its body was green, it had short arms that ended in little paws with claws, its legs were also very short. Its tail was rolled up and on its belly was a red zigzag pattern. On its head were two yellow horn-like things and in its mouth was an incredibly long tongue. Electrike growled at its opponent, it wore a determined look on its face.

“Let’s start Kecleon, attack it with Psybeam!” The teacher commanded.

Kecleon focused its mind and its zigzag pattern on its belly started to change into a mixture of colours. It then fired a multicoloured beam aimed at Electrike. Electrike could dodge the beam but the blow that had emitted blew Electrike against a tree. Kecleon grinned and taunted Electrike by imitating how it was blown against that tree. Electrike was angered by the attitude of his opponent and quickly got up and jumped back towards his side of the field.

“Come on Electrike, use howl to boost your attack!” Kenta shouted worried.

Electrike jumped in the middle of the battlefield and emitted a sad howl. Electrike’s sadness turned into rage and he was now glowing red, ready to strike. Kecleon got a bit scared by the howl and jumped back to its side of the field. Kenta’s teacher was shivering with fear.

“Now quickly damage it with your Extremespeed !” Kenta ordered confidently.

Electrike growled and its red glow changed into a white glow. He quickly sped off and just when Kecleon had noticed that its opponent had disappeared, an Electrike completely engulfed in white light crashed into it. Kecleon rolled at an incredible speed at the teacher, who had barely dodged her pokemon. Kecleon was still rolling and finally crashed into a wall. The teacher walked over to her pokemon and checked its body in case he was hurt. The kecleon, however slapped her hand away and jumped back on its side of the battlefield.

“Are you okay Kecleon?” The teacher asked worried.

The kecleon nodded and extended its claws. It then jumped towards Electrike, ready to scratch him several times. Electrike jumped out of the way but after some dodging it was hit. Kecleon kept scratching and Electrike tried to escape but no avail, he was trapped. In its panic Electrike started to gather electricity and its head horn was crackling with voltage. Electrike then released it all in one devastating blow and an explosion was triggered. A cloud of dust was created and everyone’s vision was obscured. Seconds later Electrike flew out of the dust cloud and landed hard on the ground. On the other side, Kecleon emerged from the cloud, heavily bruised, and collapsed. The teacher returned her pokemon and congratulated Kenta on his battle skills. She then noted his points on a paper and then chose her next opponent.

“The next one who will battle me is....” The teacher paused before picking someone. “Suzu!”

Suzu calmly walked over to her teacher already holding her pokeball. They shook hands and returned to their own sides. Some other students were cheering for Suzu and she just winked back. Some boys even lost consciousness when they looked in her beautiful blue eyes. Hanako and Emiko were not really cheering, just wishing her the best of luck. Kenta was really cheering loud for Suzu, while Kenshin had fallen asleep, out of boredom.

“Kirlia, come on out!” Suzu shouted she gracefully spun around, threw her pokeball and then bowed. The teacher laughed nervously in return. Suzu was really beautiful and graceful. The teacher devised a plan to make this battle interesting.

“I choose....” The teacher paused a second before shouting the word. “Kirlia!”

Both pokeballs exploded in a flash and on both sides of the field appeared a Kirlia. They both bowed and then patiently waited for an order. Kenta made a remark about Suzu’s Kirlia, apparently Suzu’s Kirlia was female and their teacher’s Kirlia was male. Hanako asked how he knew that. Kenta answered that one of the two Kirlias had much shorter ponytails than the other one, revealing that it was male. Suzu was a bit surprised by her teacher’s choice but she quickly called a command.

“Kirlia, infatuate him with Attract!” Suzu ordered confidently.

Kirlia spun around a few times and then waved her arms. Before Kirlia appeared a pink heart that was fired straight at the other one. The male Kirlia however disappeared in a flash of light, dodging the pink heart that hit a tree. This reminded Hanako of Destiny, who had disappeared in the same way. The male Kirlia reappeared behind the female and started to gather dark energy that slowly changed into a dark sphere. It twirled around and then fired the Shadow Ball at the female Kirlia.

“Kirlia watch....” Suzu didn’t succeed in alerting her Kirlia in time.

Kirlia was hit and blown towards the teacher, who was paralysed in fear. The male Kirlia disappeared again and teleported right before his trainer. When the male Kirlia was about to be hit by the female, he created a mirror-like barrier that protected both the teacher and the male Kirlia. The female bounced off the barrier and landed on the ground.

“Kirlia, are you okay?” Suzu asked worried.

Her Kirlia got up, jumped gracefully back to her side and nodded. It then turned around and calmly looked at her opponent. Suzu had lost her confidence and was hesitating. She suddenly heard a telepathic voice in her head that calmed her down, apparently this was her Kirlia who had felt her hesitation.

“Okay, Kirlia blow him back with your Magical Leaf!” Suzu ordered confidently. She felt much better now.

Kirlia waved her arms a few times before she started to spin around, several glowing leaves were created and were rapidly fired at her opponent. The male Kirlia tried to escape but to no avail, he dodged some leaves but they simply turned around and tried to hit him again. After a while the leaves had disappeared and a tired Kirlia was lying on the ground. He had several bruises on its body but tried to stand up.

“Kirlia, finish it with a Shadow Ball!” Suzu shouted quickly.

“Kirlia, counter it with your own Shadow Ball!” The teacher commanded.

Both Kirlias collected all the black energy around them and then changed it into a black sphere. Suddenly the male Kirlia quickly fired its Shadow Ball and then disappeared. The female Kirlia was surprised and because she lost concentration her own attack exploded in her face. The female tried to get up after the explosion. When she got up, she was hit again. The Shadow Ball of her opponent had succeeded in landing a hit on her. The male Kirlia reappeared on his side of the field and looked at its fainted opponent. He walked over to her and laid his hand on her head. Its hand glowed for a second and the female Kirlia was completely healed. Suzu walked over to her companion and returned her to her pokeball. Suzu then thanked the other Kirlia for healing her companion. The teacher noted her score and then chose someone else. This time she had chosen Hotaru.

“Are you ready?” The teacher asked.

“You bet I am!” Hotaru replied. “Beautifly, let’s go!”

“That’s great, go Dustox!” the teacher shouted and she threw her pokeball.

Both pokeballs exploded in a flash and two bug-like pokemon emerged from them. The first looked a lot like a butterfly. It had a grey body, but some parts of it were black, like its lower body except for its paws, feet and belly. Its top head was also black and ended in two antennas. Its nose was curled up, but was sometimes extended. Its most beautiful features were its wings, because they were mixed with several bright colours. The patterns on the wings were very colourful and were often red, blue or yellow. Its opponent looked more like a moth and was less beautiful. Its body was a bright purple and it had four red, tiny paws. It had two tiny, yellow antennas and big yellow eyes with three black spots. On its green wings were some red circles.

“Dustox, blow it away with Gust!” The teacher ordered.

“Counter with Gust, Beautifly!” Hotaru ordered hopefully.

Both pokemons flapped their wings at high speed creating a strong air current that was pushed back and forth constantly. After some time they both fell down panting. Suddenly a strange wind started to blow and it was getting stronger and stronger. Beautifly didn’t seem to have trouble at all, but Dustox was in serious pain. Then the wind didn’t become stronger but a sort of silvery dust mixed with the air currents and damaged Dustox severely. Apparently Beautifly had used an alternate form of Silver wind, not using the silvery dust immediately, but first disguising it as an air current.

“Dustox get up!” The teacher panicked, but suddenly she got an idea. “Use Moonlight!”

A fake moon appeared out of nowhere and the whole place darkened. Small sparkles fell off the fake moon and this had a healing effect on Dustox. The moon disappeared and some bruises received from the last attack had also faded. Beautifly was glaring at her opponent who simply smirked.

“Paralyse it with your Stun spore, Beautifly!” Hotaru ordered angry.

Beautifly flapped its wings at high speed and a yellow powder was blown straight at Dustox who was surprised by the attack. The spore greatly affected Dustox as his whole body was stiffened and paralysed. Beautifly smirked and by using a gust of wind as a boost, it tackled Dustox who crashed into a tree. Beautifly then flapped its wings again to create a tornado to finish Dustox off. But the attack didn’t go as planned, because Dustox had created a bright green shield that protected him for the tornado.

“Hit it with Psybeam!” The teacher ordered.

Dustox focused and it eyes started to change into a variety of colours, just like Kecleon. It then fired out of its mouth the multicoloured energy beam at Beautifly. Beautifly deflected the attack with a Gust attack, but the Psybeam hit a tree branch and it fell on Beautifly, who didn’t saw it coming. Beautifly was lying under the tree branch and tried to get free, but didn’t succeed. It tried to use a Gust attack and surprisingly it worked. Slowly a tornado was formed and blew off the tree branch, freeing Beautifly.

“Beautifly, now infatuate him with Attract!” Hotaru shouted unsurely.

Beautifly formed a heart-like energy ball and then it quickly fired at Dustox, who saw the attack coming. It easily dodged the attack, turned around and smirked, just before its battle ended. Dustox was severely damaged when a gust of air, mixed with silvery dust hit hem. This time Beautifly smirked when Dustox was loosing energy and eventually fell down and fainted.

Hotaru rejoiced her victory with Beautifly while her teacher returned her fainted pokemon and then noted Hotaru’s score on a paper where the scores of Suzu and Kenta where also written. Hotaru returned her butterfly pokemon to its pokeball and then walked back to her friends, who congratulated her. The teacher then chose her next opponent, who was Kame. She remained silent from the beginning and calmly walked over to her teacher to greet her.

“Let’s start this battle, go Spoink!” Kame shouted when she threw her pokeball in the air.

“Now, Linoone!” The teacher shouted and then quickly threw her pokeball on the field.

Out of Kame’s pokeball appeared the tiny pokemon with its twisted tail. Hanako remembered it, as it was one of the psychic pokemon who had gathered in Rage forest. Out of the other pokeball emerged a long, slender body. On its light, beige body were brown stripes, of which one ended in an arrow on its head. Its feet were short, but had long claws on the end, its ears were very short but had very sharp hearings. It growled at its opponent and let its fur bristle.

“Linoone, lower its accuracy with Sand-attack!” The teacher ordered.

Linoone obeyed and kicked up a lot of sand with its hind feet. The sand landed in Spoinks eyes and they watered so it couldn’t see properly. Spoink even bumped into a tree because of the lack of vision. Linoone smirked at its opponent and then suddenly rushed forward at an incredible speed. Kame yelled that Spoink had to dodge which it did by jumping an incredible height, Linoone didn’t see that coming and crashed into a wall.

“Spoink, confuse it with your Confuse Ray!” Kame ordered while smirking.

Spoinks vision had cleared again and its pink ball on its head started to glow. Some sort of purple energy ball was forming before Spoink and when it was big enough, he fired. The purple ball kept spinning around Linoone before turning in to energy and entering the mind of its victim. Linoone’s eyes turned a strange purple and he then rushed off. Linoone was actually aiming for one Kame’s classmates who were watching the battle. They all jumped out of the way and Linoone crashed once again in to a wall. Linoone’s then eyes turned into their normal, deep blue colour again.

“Spoink, hit it with Psybeam, quickly!” Kame ordered.

Spoink focused its mind and started to glow purple. All the glowing was sucked up inside its pink ball that had turned into a mixture of bright colours. It opened its eyes and out of its ball was shot an immense beam of energy, with almost every colour. Linoone who got up and turned around saw the beam coming towards him. The beam hit the place and a big dust cloud obscured their vision. When the dust cleared the whole wall was destroyed and Hanako saw her brother sitting in the class. But Linoone had disappeared, just when Spoink turned around it saw Linoone coming at him with its claws ready to scratch. Spoink was severely hurt by the continuing scratches.

“Spoink, attack with Power Gem!” Kame shouted worried.

Spoink heard her command and its pearl started to glow. Some sort of purple rock had formed between Spoink’s tiny paws and it was glowing the same colour as Spoink’s pearl. It then was fired at Linoone who was just retreating and was hit in its back by the glowing gem that had exploded.

“Now hit it with your Psybeam, and make it count this time!” Kame ordered worried.

Spoink gathered an enormous amount of psychic energy that even had white sparkles around it. It was then all sucked inside his ball that started to glow once again. An enormous energy beam was fired at Linoone, who was still lying on the ground, hurt by the last attack. When Linoone got up the blast of psychic energy hit it and was blasted through a tree, a wall and then ended up in a little pool, outside the school. Everyone ran to Linoone who was clearly KO. Kame returned her Spoink and walked back to her place and waited ‘till they were all back. The teacher had also returned her pokemon and noted the score of Kame. She then chose her next opponent.

“Hanako, you’re my next opponent!” The teacher smiled and shook hands with Hanako.

Hanako returned to her side of the field and then grabbed her pokeball, ready to throw.

“Chikorita, let’s go!” Hanako shouted. She jumped up and threw her pokeball.

“Bayleef, come on out!” The teacher shouted and threw her pokeball in the air.

Out of the balls emerged a tiny, green pokemon and a bigger, yellow pokemon. The yellow pokemons seeds had apparently grown and turned into leaves, its legs were probably destructive weapons. The leaf on its head had also grown bigger, but a spot was missing, it looked like someone had bitten into the leaf and ate the circle that was missing in its leaf.

<Yes, a battle> Chikorita shouted happily. <Hey, that’s a pokemon from Jotho!”

“I know, teacher where did you get that pokemon?” Hanako asked curiously.

“I have been a trainer too, you know.” The teacher answered. “Your teacher is my twin sister, I wanted to do my journey in Hoenn, but I needed a pokemon to go to a far unknown region, so I chose this Chikorita who became a Bayleef.”

“Interesting, now let’s start!” Hanako shouted confidently. “Chikorita, start with Poisonpowder!”

“Dodge, and then go in for a tackle!” The teacher ordered smirking.

Chikorita swayed its leaf a few times and a purple powder was flying towards Bayleef. Bayleef didn’t dodge the attack but used its own leaf to blow it away. Bayleef then took off, using its Tackle attack. Chikorita was tinier but could dodge Bayleef, who turned around and came back at Chikorita with an even higher speed than before.

“Slow it down with Razor Leaf!” Hanako ordered.

Chikorita swayed its leaf and fired numerous other leaves at Bayleef. Bayleef was hit several times but didn’t stop and was going straight for Chikorita who was preparing itself for the oncoming blow. Just when Bayleef was about to crash into Chikorita, Hanako shouted something. Chikorita had heard her command and focused, a mirror-like wall appeared between then and Bayleef bounced off it.

“Bayleef, attack it with your own Razor Leaf!” The teacher ordered.

“Chikorita, defend yourself with Light screen!” Hanako ordered unsurely.

Chikorita created a blue mirror this time to shield itself against the oncoming blow. Bayleef fired a lot of sharp leaves at Chikorita, which were a lot bigger. Chikorita was panting while using most of her energy to keep the barrier. Bayleef kept firing leaves and wasn’t tired at all, it smirked when it saw its previous form going down slowly.

“Chikorita, heal yourself with Synthesis!” Hanako ordered confidently.

Chikorita let the barrier disappear and absorbed the rays of the sun to heal itself. It glowed green a second and its energy was going up again. But some leaves were still flying towards Chikorita. The protecting barrier had vanished and the Reflect soon shattered after that. Chikorita dodged most leaves but one slashed a piece of its leaf. Hanako remembered that a Reflect was mostly use to protect its creator from physical attacks from its opponent. The attack Light screen was more effective when protecting its creator against non-physical attacks. Both barriers can protect its creator against the other sort too, but then the barriers were a lot weaker. Chikorita was fed up, its pride and joy had been damaged by that stupid beast in front of it.

“Chikorita, hit it with your Magical Leaf!” Hanako ordered.

Chikorita’s leaf glowed white and then several other leaves appeared next to Chikorita which were rapidly fired at Bayleef. Bayleef dodged the leaves and then was going straight for Chikorita. Hanako and Chikorita smirked and her teacher knew what was coming. When Bayleef was about to jump and bump into Chikorita, she was hit in the back and crashed into the ground face-first.

“Now Tackle it!” Hanako ordered confidently.

Chikorita prepared itself for the finishing blow and then took off towards Bayleef who was just getting up. Bayleef saw Chikorita and acted like it was injured. Just when Chikorita was about to finish the battle, Bayleef jumped up and then changed its jump into a Body Slam attack. Chikorita was flabbergasted when Bayleef jumped up and was paralysed in fear when she saw Bayleef coming down. Bayleef landed hard on Chikorita and almost squashed Chikorita. Luckily it jumped off and landed on its feet. Chikorita was KO, she had no more energy to continue the battle. Hanako ran over to her Chikorita and picked it up.

“Don’t worry Hanako, it will be okay.” The teacher smiled. “Just let it get some rest.”

Hanako understood and enlarged Chikorita’s pokeball to return it. A crimson energy beam shot out of the button and engulfed Chikorita. Chikorita also turned into the crimson colour and then was sucked inside her pokeball. She then returned to her place and waited for her teacher to choose a new opponent. Her next opponent was Kenshin and he calmly got up and walked towards his teacher. Many girls from other classes were blushing when he looked at them, one even fainted.
