Hi, I need some help with my Pokemon team for Firered.

I want to use a scyther, but I have legitimate reasons for keeping the rest of my Pokemon team.

My team currently is:

Level 30 Ivysaur (Poison Powder, Razor Leaf, Cut, Leech Seed)
Level 29 Alakazam (Physic, Dream Eater (I know, I'll replace it), Secret Power, Recover)
Level 27 Growlithe (Bite, Roar, Ember, Takedown)
Level 29 Pidgeotto (Aerial Ace, Wing Attack, Quick Attack, Sand Attack0
Level 29 Raichu (Thunderbolt, Thunder wave, Quick Attack, Mega Punch)
Level 25 Vaporeon (Water Pulse, Hyper Beam, Sand Attack, Quick Attack)

So, can someone suggest who I should replace, or if I shouldn't at all?
I really don't know, and I'm keeping the entire game on hold until I can figure this out.

Also, if there are any other/alternative Pokemon that are better in some way, shape or form that what I already have that I could get, please tell me.

My progress:

Level 30 Dodrio (Pursuit, Tri-Attack, Fly, Rage)
Level 30 Raichu (Thunderbolt, Thunder wave, Quick Attack, Mega Punch)
Level 30 Vaporeon (Water Pulse, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Quick Attack)

Giga Drain: I can get that from the celadon city gym leader, who I'm about to fight.
Sludge bomb: That's quite a while off from where I am.
Earthquake: You get that from the last gym leader... so I'm not really sure about that. :/

Extreme speed: My arcanine learns that at level 49, quite a while off, any alternatives?

Yeah I have some alternatives, for Arcanine so far your set is fine. So is Ivysaur for now but you might want to replace Cut with Synthesis when your done with the trees in the main story.
