Pokemon: The Ultimates (sign ups)

God of Monsters
Pokemon: The Ultimates
(Rated PG-13 for violence, language, and implied sexual situations)

Imagine a Pokemon world far harsher than the one you know. The evils of the world are far more sinister and far more dangerous. This is a world where the godlike powers of Pokemon are constantly sought out by those ready to abuse them, and where law enforcement has been greatly disadvantaged by a lack of preparedness and foresight.

In this world, the criminal entity known as Team Rocket was far more malevolent. Their endeavors in the fields of genetic manipulation far surpassed the creation of Mewtwo, though Mewtwo was perhaps their greatest achievement. Their manipulations of Pokemon and their genetic code were monstrous. They created terrible abominations, splicing together Pokemon and human DNA with often disastrous results. Luckily, several young trainers managed to uncover the identity of Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni the Viridian City Gym Leader, and were able to put a stop to his plans by destroying key Team Rocket facilities throughout Kanto with the help of the Kanto Police.

Team Rocket attempted a revival several years later in the Johto region. Their experiments at the Lake of Rage and Mahogany Town let loose an onslaught of attacks from rampaging Gyarados that destroyed Mahogany Town. A team of Pokemon trainers managed to deactivate the towers that broadcasted the experimental signal, and the Gyarados calmed down and returned to the lake. Team Rocket then attempted to capture Celebi and harness its power to traverse time, but they were thwarted by the Pokemon trainers before any real plans could come together and Celebi escaped into the timestream.

In the Hoenn, Team Aqua and Team Magma's ambitions resulted in the deaths of thousands due to droughts and floods. The battle between Groudon and Kyogre was tremendous. In the process, Mt. Chimney erupted and destroyed Lavaridge Town; Pacifidlog Town was wiped out by a title wave; and Sootopolis City was decimated in the final moments of the battle. Only the intervention of Rayquaza, who managed to defeat both Groudon and Kyogre and send them retreating back into hibernation, stopped the two titans from devastating the entire region. But Rayquaza was gripped by the heat of battle and flew to Mt. Pyre. There, Rayquaza obliterated the mountain in a fit of rage before calming and returning to the Sky Pillar.

In Sinnoh, the members of Team Galactic sought to harness the powers of Dialga and Palkia to remake the world in their image. They captured the three lake spirits--Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf--and used their life energies to create the Red Chain that they would use to control Palkia and Dialga. The spatial and temporal disturbances caused by Palkia and Dialga angered the renegade Giratina, who emerged from the Distortion World and attacked Team Galactic. A battle between the three great dragons commenced. The battle decimated the nearby Celestic Town. The battle finally subsided when a young trainer summoned Arceus with the Azure Flute. The Alpha Pokemon quelled the three dragons with a flash of power and returned them to their own separate dimensions before vanishing.

In Unova, the underhanded machinations of Team Plasma allowed them to resurrect the ancient dragon Pokemon. Plasma's King, a young man named N, proved himself worthy of the dragon's notice and was chosen as its hero. With the dragon's power, N swept aside any who would stand against his mission of freeing Pokemon from humans, and devastated the Unova Pokemon League headquarters. It was only when another young trainer, chosen by the dragon's opposite, intervened, that N realized the error of his ways, and spent the next two years combating his former organization.

In Kalos, Team Flare attempted to make the world "beautiful." Despite their goal, several grunts and even their leader Lysandre confirmed that they seek a world that benefits only those within Team Flare, disregarding anybody else. Team Flare's true plan was to use an ancient weapon in order to obliterate all life except themselves in order to start anew. A group of trainers managed to prevent Lysandre's machinations, and Team Flare was destroyed by its own ambition.

In Alola, Team Skull and the Aether Foundation aligned to track down and capture a mysterious breed of otherworldly Pokemon. The foundation's president's mind began to unravel, and she threatened to open up interdimensional portals across the entire region and destabilize reality. Thanks to the intervention of her children and another group of trainers, the foundation's scheme was thwarted and its remaining members reaffirmed their desire to become a beneficial force.

In the last decade, these criminal organizations have wreaked havoc upon the world of Pokemon. Their goals have varied from monetary gain, to global domination, to global geography manipulation, to the manipulation of time and space themselves. And they’ve very nearly succeeded in their goals; every time, it was but a twist of fate that a few random trainers were able to overcome the odds and foil their plans.

But for SHIELD, the newly-formed global peacekeeping and counterterrorist organization, depending on a few, random, young Pokemon trainers was unacceptable. After Team Galactic’s near-success in using the time-altering and space-altering Pokemon to recreate the world, SHIELD set the Ultimates Initiative into motion. In conjunction with the world’s Pokemon Leagues, the Ultimates would be SHIELD’s elite team of trainers dedicated to thwarting the plans of the above-mentioned teams, and any other teams that might emerge.

You’re one of the Ultimates, elite agents and individuals that have been brought into SHIELD to counter the efforts of criminal organizations. You’ve been assigned to SHIELD by one branch of the Pokemon League to serve in the Ultimates. Now it’s your job to handle the remnants of these criminal organizations while also containing anything new that springs up.

==========

Villainous Organizations:

Team Rocket: The oldest and most well-organized of the known criminal organizations. An organization highly interested in social and financial power. Team Rocket began as a group of corporate spies. After coming under the leadership of Giovanni, they expanded their interests into Pokemon acquisition, genetic manipulation, arms dealing, and extortion. Team Rocket has had their hands in almost every plot in Kanto and Johto. Their greatest accomplishment was the creation of Mewtwo from the DNA of Mew. But they lost control of Mewtwo he hasn’t been seen since. Team Rocket also attempted to capture Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, the Legendary Birds, and the Legendary Beasts. After being foiled at every turn by a group of young trainers, the boss Giovanni disbanded Team Rocket and went into hiding..

Team Aqua and Team Magma: The leaders of both teams, Archie and Maxie, were once research assistants at the Weather Institute. Their mentor believed that humankind's interference was creating a severe imbalance in the natural world's weather patterns that would eventually lead to total environmental collapse. Under the impression that a man-made problem required a natural solution, their mentor created two research teams, Aqua and Magma, to investigate different possible solutions. The team leaders came to wildly different conclusions. Team Aqua sought the super-ancient Kyogre to attempt to expand the seas and oceans, claiming that since life came from the waters, more water would be better for the planet. Team Magma sought the super-ancient Groudon to attempt to expand the landmasses, claiming that more land would allow for more places to live and more life to flourish. But both teams lost control of the super-ancient Pokemon, who fought each other in a titanic battle. It was Rayquaza who finally arrived to calm the two Pokemon and send them back to slumber. Aqua and Magma’s leaders then retreated.

Team Galactic: A mysterious organization run by the enigmatic Cyrus, who sought the recreation of the entire universe. He was obsessed with space and extraterrestrial life, and sought out Pokemon rumored to have come from outer space, believing them the key to obtaining the cosmic power necessary to realize his dreams. His research eventually led him to Palkia and Dialga. Cyrus sought out Dialga and Palkia so that he could reorder time and space to make himself the supreme deity of Earth. Had it not been for the interference of a few young trainers, then Cyrus would have succeeded and we would be living in a vastly different world today. After being foiled, Cyrus vowed revenge.

Team Plasma: A fanatical cult-like organization determined to free Pokemon from "slavery". Plasma was modeled after medieval nobility, with knights, nobles, sages, and royalty. Their King, a young man named "N", was raised to become the "hero of legend." After proving himself to the legendary dragon, N was confronted with his opposite and decided to reevaluate his life. Ghestis, the mastermind behind events, fled into hiding while SHIELD authorities began dismantling Plasma's operations. Two years later, infighting led to a schism, where N and Ghestis battled over their ideals.

Team Flare: An organization determined to "create a beautiful and better world," Team Flare set its sights on the Kalos region. Their leader, Lysandre, attempted to reactivate a powerful ancient weapon to devastate the region. Once again, a team of young trainers managed to stop him, and Lysandre destroyed Team Flare under the weight of his own ambition.

Team Skull and the Aether Foundation: Though largely inefficient, Team Skull remains a nuisance in the Alola region, where they continue to disrupt the island challenge events. In the past they aided the former Aether Foundation President, Lusamine's quest to gain the power of the Ultra-Beast Pokemon. The foundation established itself in Alola in order to study and capture the Ultra-Beasts. Led by the charismatic Lusamine, the Aether Foundation allied itself with Team Skull and attempted to use the Ultra Beasts to gain control of the Alola region. After being foiled, Lusamine was taken into custody and brought to treatment, where it was discovered that the Ultra Beast Nihilego had been slowly influencing her actions and behaviors. After Lusamine was removed as president, the Aether Foundation once again took on its original purpose of helping injured and disadvantaged Pokemon.

SHIELD and the Ultimates

S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage Logistics Directorate, is a global peacekeeping and counterterrorist organization that was formed and rebranded from the Global Police in an attempt to combat the threats of various criminal organizations. Based off the coast of the Unova region on an island base known as the Triskelion, SHIELD attempts to work proactively to stop whatever threats might arise across the world.

Recognizing the ability of individual trainers working together, Director Kruger initiated the "GO" Project in Kanto. He sought out three trainers with astounding abilities to form and lead three separate teams. These teams were supposed to serve as a counterbalance to Team Rocket, organizing otherwise unaffiliated trainers and gearing their collective efforts towards bettering themselves rather than falling in with, or falling prey to, Team Rocket's ambitions. However, what Kruger failed to take into account was the natural competitiveness of the average Pokemon trainer. Without being told explicitly what they were working towards, the three GO teams began turning on one another. The three Leaders were able to corral most of their team, but the damage was already done.

Kruger realized that he would need a better structure in order to succeed. He left the GO Project confined to Kanto and instead focused on better utilizing the world's Pokemon Leagues. This was met with a good deal of success. He was able to access their databases of powerful trainers and recruit many of them into SHIELD's training programs. Most importantly, he was able to coordinate the Gym Leaders and Elite Four members of each region to investigate and disrupt different plots. What this led to, however, was the League members being forced to neglect their duties along with a growing public discomfort of the continued militarization of the Pokemon Leagues.

When the initiatives they put in place to counteract each threat failed, SHIELD sought out Steven Stone, the former Hoenn League Champion, to aid them against other criminal organizations. It was Steven that first developed the Ultimates Initiative with the purpose of combating the various criminal organizations that exist throughout the world.

The Ultimates: The Ultimates are an elite team run by S.H.I.E.L.D. and advised in part by the Pokemon League. In a sense, they are superheroes to the public. They are dedicated to defending the world from organizations like Team Rocket. The Ultimates are a unique group of individuals from all over the Pokemon world, and they each have their own unique abilities. Some of them are the unwitting end-results of genetic and technological experimentation, granting them phenomenal or horrific powers and abilities. Others have formed mystical bonds with powerful Pokemon and have been granted supernatural powers. Still others are regular human beings, but extraordinarily powerful Pokemon trainers.

The Ultimates answer only to a select group of people:
General Kruger: Director of SHIELD
Steven Stone: Agent in charge of the Ultimates
Lorelei Prima: Agent Stone's second-in-command

Official Rules
1. No god-modding.
2. I have no character "maximum" - just don't overestimate what you can handle.
3. Only control your own character unless given permission otherwise by the other character's owner.
4. No killing other OC's without their owner's permission.
5. If you wish to make an NPC with a large part then please just state that on the sign-ups so that it doesn't get killed. Otherwise it's open season.
6. You must have good grammar! Get a proofreader for all I care! Use the spell-check! Anything, just make sure things make sense. I can tolerate some slip-ups, but nothing on a constant basis.
7. Please try to post at least once every 2-5 days (unless you give me a reason why you can't). Any longer than that and we might lose you or leave you behind.
8. No making up histories for characters (even NPCs) that aren't your own.
9. I reserve the right to kick you out of this RPG if you break one of these rules seriously enough. I will, however, give you a chance to explain or redeem yourself so it won't be a "BAM goodbye" sort of deal.

A note on mystic avatars:

Mystic Avatars: Basically, this encompasses the supernatural powers. The general idea is that a person would enter into an agreement or contract with a Pokemon or group of similar/allied Pokemon and they would grant that person certain abilities (see my signup "Victoria Meyers" for an example). The other way to go would be if the person inherits their power, like that girl in the Arceus movie...I think. Is that clear? I hope so.

Why not both?
This seems pretty cool!

Before I write my sign-ups, I just want to confirm a few things about Mystic Avatars. First: They are bonded with a legendary pokemon and have appropriate powers, right? (For example, someone bonded with Dialga would be able to slow down time?) Second: Their one pokemon is a different pokemon entirely from the one they are bonded with?

I'll probably end up going with a Scientific Experiment and a Mystic Avatar for characters, because I can't be bothered to think up an entire team XD.

Avatars CAN be bonded with a legendary Pokémon, but they don't have to--and I'd actually prefer if they didn't. Same thing with them being the same bonded Pokémon. You can bond with your own Pokémon, but it's harder because tamed Pokémon don't have the same kind of supernatural connection.

Monster Guy

Fairy type Trainer
Name: Veronica Lance
Gender: Female
Age: 22

mTXd6GG.png

Physical Description: Veronica is not the type of person who could easily blend into a crowd. She stands at exactly five feet tall, making her a little bit on the short side, not that this matters to her. Her figure is willowy, lacking in curvature. Not that she's a block, rather her curves are just understated, again, not that this matters to her. She has a heart shaped face, and a small nose. Her hair is long, and slightly wavy. It goes past her waist, with blunt cut bangs that go to her eyebrows. It naturally grows out of her head in a lavender color. She keeps her hair tied up into pigtails on either side of her head. Her eyes are an intense yellow color, that almost appear to be glowing, which tends to freak some people out. She doesn't go out in the sun all that much, so her skin is pale, making her features stand out. Her eyes are often coated with black eyeshadow.

Veronica has a very particular taste when it comes to clothes. Her wardrobe consists of frilly gothic style dresses. There are a lot of lace, ruffles, and bows in her clothes, and it's always in a black and purple color scheme. Her usual outfit is a long, frilly dress, the top part of it is purple, has puff sleeves, and has a black bow in the middle. The skirt is black, and it reaches to just past her knees. It has ruffles on the bottom. She wears sheer black stockings on her legs, and black Mary Jane style shoes on her feet. She wears lace gloves that are purple around the elbow, and then black everywhere else. On top of her head sits a black headband with a purple bow attached to it. The only jewelry she wears is a black choker with a purple gem in the middle, as well as black stud earrings in both earlobes. Some people find her choice of clothing odd because it tends to look extravagant when it's not necessary. Veronica doesn't care what others think. She likes the style, and that's all that matters to her.

Personality: Veronica is a quiet young woman who doesn't show emotion very often. She usually has a serious look on her, and it's rare to see her smile. She doesn't talk very much, not because she's shy or anything, she just doesn't have much to say. It's hard to get more than a few words out of her at a time. When someone does try to talk to her, she tries to get straight to the point, and end the conversation as efficiently as possible. This often leads to saying things bluntly, or respond with a snarky comment. She is patient and stoic, and doesn't get angry easily, but can be quite scary when she does get mad. These days, she has a tendency to push people away because of her experiences with bullying, often playing up her bad reputation, and demonstrating her abilities to keep people away. While she is grateful for the gifts she was blessed with, she knows that they can be dangerous if left unchecked, which is why she keeps people at arms length, so she doesn't hurt people again.

Her favorite activity is reading books. She is actually fairly intelligent, and she likes learning as much as she can about Ghost type Pokemon, and anything else she thinks is relavent. She also reads for pleasure, and reads fairy tales in addition to scholarly texts. She reads stories about people having adventures all the time, but until she was recruited to join the Ultimates, didn't believe it was possible to have one herself. Although, she seems to prefer reading about such things, than actually being involved. She knows the potential dangers involved, and Veronica doesn't like casually rushing into danger without a plan.

For all her intelligence, Veronica is lacking in physical ability. She's not very strong (though she can somehow pick up big heavy books without a problem), not a particularly fast runner, and gets tired easily after doing physical activity for too long. She typically avoids exerting herself too much. However, when it becomes necessary to perform manual labor, she will never complain about it. She'll just suffer in silence until the task is complete. Complaining is something that irritates her more than physical fatigue.

She is quite friendly deep down, and would appreciate companionship from someone willing to look past the darkness. She can be one of your closest friends if you have the patience to deal with her. The reason for her personality is because of the bad reputation she's gotten due to her powers. She joined the Ultimates to actually put her abilities to do something good.

Region From: Unova
Region Currently In: Unova

History: Although she doesn't remember too much of it, Veronica's past could read like a science-fiction novel. She created in a test-tube, and was born in a laboratory. She was made using a combination of human and Pokemon DNA, the Chandelure line specifically. From infancy, she was brought up to be a weapon of mass destruction. She showed potential, but would require severe training before she could be of use to them. Ultimately though, the project was aborted as most of the others involved were considered failures. They felt that Veronica could potentially still be of use to them one day. So, she was legally adopted by two of the scientists who helped make her so they could keep an eye on her, and the family moved to Mistralton city.

Since then, Veronica has lived a pretty comfortable life as a daughter of the scientists for years. (She knows she's adopted, but she does not know her she is the result of a science experiment.) She is very curious about where she came from, but her parents are always secrective about this. They just tell her the orphanage she was adopted from had no information on her besides her name, and method of arrival. For some reason, Ghosts seemed drawn to her. Litwicks from the Celestial Tower would often appear in the family home. They often hung around Veronica for reasons no one knew, occasionally scaring guests. She never understood what the problem was. These Litwicks were the closest friends she had. Fueling her fascination for Ghost types.

Due to her fascination with Ghost type Pokemon, odd choice of fashion, and tendency to keep to herself, Veronica was very much an outcast. She was the victim of bullying and mistrust by others, who believed her to be a witch. Veronica was hurt by the constant teasing, but did her best to cope with it as best she could. Since she didn't have any friends, Veronica spent most of her time with the Ghosts at Celestial Tower, and reading books. She is often seen with some kind of book with her. She met her first, and only Pokemon at the Celestial Tower. A cheerful Litwick that she named Celeste. Celeste and Veronica became inseparable partners.

It all came to a head on one particular day. While she was walking by, she overheard someone say, "Oh look, here comes that freak. I bet she's just waiting for the right moment to kill us all." She got upset by this, and then suddenly, without meaning too, a purple fire suddenly appeared next to him. The person tried to put it out, but the flame spread, setting himself on fire. When she walked up to try to help the person, he responded with "You did this didn't you?! Get away from me you witch!" Which made Veronica more upset, causing the fire to grow. Veronica ran away tears streaming down her face.

As Veronica ran, random things she passed started bursting into flames. Eventually, the whole building she was in burst into flames. By the time help arrived, flames had consumed the school, several people were burned, and some even died. After that incident, it was confirmed in everyone's mind's that the Veronica really was a witch. When they learned what happened, Veronica and her family had to leave Mistralton, and they had no choice but to reveal the truth to their daughter about her origins.

Veronica was upset that her parents had kept this from her for so long. Over time she came to accept her powers, but she was still worried about hurting others again. The family moved around a lot, trying to find a new place to live, but the rumors about Veronica followed her everywhere they went. Every time they would get forced out by people who were too scared to look past Veronica's bad reputation.

Now, Veronica currently lives a sheltered life in Lacunosa Town with her parents. She was homeschooled by her parents, and her Litwick eventually became a Chandelure. She doesn't go out of her home much, fearing having another accident.

Class: Scientific Experiment
Ability: Veronica was the result of a program that involved mixing human DNA with Pokemon. Her DNA was blended with the Chandelure line. This not only resulted in her unique hair and eye color, it also gave her the abilities of a Chandelure. She hasn't discovered the full extent of her powers, but she has learned to replicate some of Chandelure's attacks, and the ability Shadow Tag.

Shadow Tag: Veronica conjures a shadow to bind someone's feet where they stand, temporarily preventing them from escaping.

Will-o-Wisp: Veronica conjures up balls of purple flames, that she can manipulate.

Hex: Veronica starts chanting, and summons shadows around an opponent. The shadows cause the victim intense (but not fatal) internal pain. The pain is worse if the victim has an affliction of some kind, like a burn.

Pain Split: Veronica is able to drain life energy from one, and transfer it to another. She can't kill anybody with this.

She can also understand and speak to Ghost type Pokemon, and is also immune to heat and flame.

Name/Nickname: Celeste
Species: Chandelure
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Celeste was evolved from one of the Litwicks that followed Veronica around. This one just wouldn't leave, and always kept coming back. She is one of Veronica's closest friends. Celeste is not like most Ghost types. She prefers to play and make friends with others, rather than scarring them, and sucking out their souls. Although, when she tries to interact with someone, they will often run away in fear, this does not deter her from being as friendly as she possibly can. She wears a black ribbom tied into a bow so Veronica can recognize her own Pokemon from others of the same species.

Kamotz

God of Monsters
Name: Gideon Bradley
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Physical Description: Gideon stands just about six and-a-half feet tall and is typically considered "handsome", with a well-defined musculature, strong jaw line and facial features, and immaculate posture. He has brown eyes and a thick head of dark brown hair cut quite short. He's allowed various amounts of facial hair and stubble (though usually no more than a 5 o'clock shadow) to grow out. Not because he likes it, but shaving is an arduous task for someone who is nearly invulnerable.

He has an incredible physique and toned musculature. He's powerful, heavily muscled, but lean. His body tissue is many times more dense than a regular human, feeling almost as if he's been forged from steel. It allows for his slimmer body-type to hold such immense strength, and his superhuman physical abilities negate the need for hulking muscles. Because of his experimentation by Team Rocket, Gideon carries all the cuts and scars that go along with it. Despite his powers, his old injuries (from before and during the experimentation) have never truly disappeared. They're often quite hard to make out, however, because of Gideon's well-tanned skin. Unassisted flight and invulnerability have its perks, and the hours-a-day spent in the sun has given him a nice, all-over bronze.

Gideon generally doesn’t wear any one outfit all the time, but he is known to wear his SHIELD uniform on occasion. The uniform is a black bodysuit, made of of 9-ply Kevlar (able to withstand ballistic impact up to .45 caliber bullets) and a Beta Cloth (type C), a fire-resistant material whose kindling temperature is 1,700 °F (930 °C). He doesn't need the suit much for physical protection as he does for sheer modesty, as most other clothing shears apart when he flies around. That said, he's fond of the plain "jean and a shirt" look, usually a pair of slim bootcuts and an athletic-fit shirt. And he's been known to pull of a suit-and-tie quite well.

Personality: Gideon comes of as an unfriendly, tough-as-nails type of person, but that is quite far from the truth. Gideon simply knows what his job is and strives to do it well. He’s friendly, but not very outgoing. He plays the stoic very well, the unflinching super-man. He's reserved and hesitant to open up, however, an understandable result of his torture and experimentation, which made him untrusting of most people; so he often prefers solitude to the company of strangers. Even so, once one has gained Gideon’s trust, he will stand by them until the end.

Gideon often suffers from feelings of detachment; his powers separate him from the vast majority of the population, and he always feels like an outsider. It's hard for him to get over and move past this feeling.

Gideon is powerful, he's among the most powerful of superhumans and he knows it. Gideon isn't afraid to let enemies know that either. If it benefits a situation, he's perfectly happy to let an enemy hit him just to show how durable and unaffected he is. He also isn't above unnecessary shows of brute physical force, going so far as to purposely miss a punch in order to break something else and get into his opponent's head. Gideon is intensity incarnate, always living as if there is a sun burning behind his eyes, yet there are times when he seems to be at peace with the world and the universe. He is perfectly happy to spend hours on end floating high in the sky basking in the warm glow of the sun, far above the noise of the earth below.

Region From: Kanto
Region Currently In: Kanto, Indigo Plateau

History: Gideon is believed to have been the illegitimate son of former Pokemon League Champion Felix Emery. However, there is no proof of this, as Gideon's records were destroyed, and his memory of his early life is full of holes and manufactured memories. He knows that he lived with his mother, but was orphaned at a young age when she died of cancer, and Gideon was taken into an orphanage. He adjusted well and became very independent. He would roam around Celadon City (where the orphanage was) and get into all sorts of trouble. On one unfortunate occasion, Gideon witnessed Team Rocket Grunts slipping into the basement of the Celadon Game Corner. He followed them and saw the entire operation. This brought him to the attention of Team Rocket Executives, who had caught him on one of their security feeds. Lacking in test-subjects and hoping to be rid of any potential security leaks, Gideon was made a target.

A short time later, he was taken by undercover Team Rocket agents posing as a married couple. He was wary at first, but this was more due to his own tentative nature when it came to new people. Gideon was then brought to Team Rocket scientists. There, he was subjected to a battery of genetic tests and experiments that augmented Gideon at the molecular level. He was experimented on for five years before Team Rocket was finally finished. The tests left his mind and memory in shambles, but had granted him enormous power. Gideon was unable to truly decide his future course of action and was coerced into working for Team Rocket for several years. His involvement in Team Rocket's operations led to much success for the criminal organization, and Gideon was even put on the force tasked with recovering Mewtwo.

Gideon was tasked with several other missions; he protected Team Rocket interests in Kanto and Johto, and stepped in to help acquire rare and powerful Pokemon, and control dangerous new experimental subjects. However, after each mission, more of Gideon's mind and personality began to emerge, and his memories slowly returned and reorganized. When enough of his own personality emerged, Gideon was horrified with who he was and what he had done. He managed to break free and escape, fighting through a veritable army of Rocket troops. He spent the next few years on the run, trying to evade Team Rocket's psychics and other monstrous creations. When Team Rocket finally disbanded, Gideon caught a break and went into hiding. However, he was later located by S.H.I.E.L.D. and brought into the organization as part of the task force that would later become the Ultimates.

Class: Scientific Experiment

Ability: Due to several highly dangerous experiments by Team Rocket scientists, Gideon has been augmented at the molecular level. The scientists created a gene-altering serum derived from stem cells of several powerful Pokemon that creates a phase-shift in his molecules, causing each atom to step an instant ahead of the current time line. The serum induces a photosynthetic reaction, resulting in a hyper state of consciousness and bestowing him with a wide array of super-human abilities. Most of his powers and their limits are still unknown, but so far he has been shown to be capable of unassisted flight and has demonstrated a high level of superhuman durability. The full extent of his strength has yet to be determined, and his enhanced physiology generates far less bodily toxins, granting him much greater stamina. He is able to fly and run at speeds well exceeding the sound barrier. His hearing is highly acute and he possesses "Flash Vision" in which his eyes emit as yet unknown radiation which can allow him to see through solid objects and generate intense heat capable of vaporizing organic matter. Gideon can also project energy fields, control light, and has limited psychic and mental abilities, that he uses for holding his physical powers together, though he is unable to use these mental powers the way other psychics could.

Name: Victoria "Vicki" Meyers, the Scarlet Sword
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Physical Description: Vicki is quite an attractive young woman rather tall woman, standing just over 5-feet, 9-inches (1.8m) tall. She's a deadly beauty, with sharp features: thin lips, a slender nose, and focused hawk-like eyes. Her platinum-blonde hair is long and hangs just past her shoulders in the back. She usually ties the back in a ponytail while allowing the front to hang loose and frame her face. Her eyes are a striking green.

On the surface, Vicki has a rather slender, succulent physique, with long, smooth legs, curved hips, slim waist, and full breasts. On closer inspection, however, it becomes apparent (sometimes painfully) that Vicki is powerful; ripplingly strong with explosive force. Each muscle is lean: iron-hard and as taught as a bowstring. Her advanced healing factor means that only the most grievous of wounds leave any trace scars after they've healed, though the wounds she sustained prior to receiving her powers still remain. She has a slight tan, though her naturally fair skin doesn't get very dark, despite all the time she spends outdoors. Vicki will sometimes wear glasses, though they’re only needed for reading.

She's not truly partial to any one particular style of clothes, and is equally comfortable in sweatpants and a tank-top as she is in jeans and a t-shirt, or a formal business suit. Her abilities allow her to manifest a set of red armor, but more on that below.

Personality: Vicki is a very kind and outgoing person. She has little trouble meeting and interacting with new people and/or Pokemon. But she does have a competitive side and won’t hesitate to accept a challenge. She believes primarily in watching out for her own self-interests, and puts the well-being of herself, her Pokemon, and her journey ahead of everything else. Due to her never knowing her father and being the product of a one night stand, Vicki has developed a need to prove herself, and can be upset when insulted about this. She also refuses to form romantic relationships with men, fearing that what happened to her mother will happen to her as well.

Vicki is a genuinely good person. Like many who have tangled with Team Rocket, her story is a tragic one of pain and loss, so her desire to protect the little she has is very strong. She also has a soft spot for young children and families devastated by the organizations. She has a scathing hatred of Team Rocket, and on very rare occasions--when they have committed truly atrocious acts against children and families—she can fly into a vicious rage. Try as she might, she can't seem to rid herself of her rage or her soft spot.

Region From: Johto, Olivine City
Region Currently In: Kanto, Lavender Town

History: Vicki grew up in Olivine City in Johto. Her mother was a well-known Pokemon scientist who specialized in Unown decoding and research. Vicki never knew her father, who was a sailor. The story goes that her father and mother met randomly and only long enough for him to get her pregnant. For much of her childhood, Vicki dreamed about one day meeting her father and of him returning to Olivine City to make them a real family. However, he never came back, and her mother never seemed to interested in finding him.

Because of this, Vicki formed a strong bond with her mother, and the two came to share a love of Pokemon. Vicki’s mother would take her on many expeditions to the Ruins of Alph, the Tanoby Chambers, and the Solaceon Ruins. With this traveling, Vicki gained a great appreciation for the world and for Pokemon, as well as a burning desire to see more of it. After a great deal of effort to convince her mother, Vicki was allowed to set off on her own journey.

With her new Pokemon, Vicki set off to conquer the Johto League and prove to herself that she was more than just the result of the loveless relationship between her parents. She did rather well. She breezed through the first seven Johto gyms before facing Clair in Blackthorne City. Vicki was absolutely crushed by the dragon master and was humiliated. Vowing to beat Clair the next time, Vicki spent close to a year in training with her Pokemon, and when she returned to Blackthorne City, she emerged victorious over Claire.

However, when Team Rocket attempted its revival in Johto, she was caught in Mahogany Town, but was unable to stop the town's destruction. She was defeated by Team Rocket Specialists and all her Pokemon--save for her Umbreon--were stolen. Vicki tracked Team Rocket to Goldenrod City and attempted to reacquire her Pokemon. However, she was caught up in Team Rocket's effort to capture Celebi. Together with several other Trainers, she managed to thwart their plans, but not before the Specialists who stole her Pokemon slipped away.

Vicki was then approached by a group of Pokemon called the "Seven Swords," who offered her great power. They tasked her with the continued protection of the world from Team Rocket and other such organizations. Vicki gladly accepted, knowing that she could use her powers to track down those her stolen Pokemon. She has spent the last several years traveling around Johto and Kanto investigating the various Team Rocket hideouts in hopes of finding some clue to her Pokemons' whereabouts. She's now in Lavender Town, investigating the Pokemon Tower…

Class: Mystic Avatar

Ability: Vicki is the mystic avatar of a council of Pokemon warriors known as the "Seven Swords," consisting of a Scyther, Scizor, Absol, Gallade, Escavalier, Bisharp, and Aegislash. The council granted Vicki phenomenal powers. She is an expert martial artist, proficient in armed combat. Vicki is incredibly fast and agile: able to move and fight at the same speed as the Pokemon that granted her her abilities. She also has a limited degree of superhuman strength. She has been given a set of mystical red armor that is lightweight and superbly durable. The armor also grants her the power of flight. The "Seven Swords" also bestowed Vicki with limited psychic abilities that she uses in conjunction with her other abilities to significantly raise the level of her fighting skills. Her mystic powers also allow her to manifest nearly any sort of close-combat weapon (ie. sword, spear, etc.)

Pokemon:

Name/Nickname: Galahad
Species: Gallade
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Galahad was Vicki’s first Pokemon. He spends his time traveling outside his Pokeball beside Vicki, and only enters his Pokeball when severely weakened. He is her only remaining battle-capable Pokemon, though since Vicki obtained her abilities Galahad has spent much less time in official Pokemon battles and serves more as Vicki's support. Galahad is Vicki’s “shining knight.” He was one of the first Pokemon she obtained in the Sinnoh region as a Ralts. And ever since then, he’s taken a “big-brother” role in her life. He’s very protective of Vicki, and spends much energy fending off would-be suitors, even though Vicki doesn’t always need it. In battle, Galahad always fights with a sense of style and honor that does his name proud. Through his bond with Vicki, he is able to Mega Evolve and further assist her in combat.

Name: Riley Aaron
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Physical Description: Riley is a man of average height, standing 5'10" tall, with sharp features and a devilish smile. Originally, his hair and eyes were black and hazel, respectively, but after the awakening of his Aura, their color changed. He now has long, deep-blue hair that he keeps tied back in a low pony-tail, though several stubborn strands always seem to come loose and hang in front and on the sides of his face, and he has shining blue eyes, always glowing with his Aura.

Riley is rather slender, though he is very strong. Even without his Aura powers, his body pushes the limits of what humans are capable of; a result of his intense training. He has a lean build, focusing on developing a toned physique over bulk. He's quick, flexible, and maneuverable. He's constantly training himself, keeping his body in perfect shape; this serves to preserve and facilitate the use of his Aura powers, which allow him to push well-beyond the limits of normal humans.

His usual attire consists of black slacks, a black shirt, a blue suit jacket, and a blue hat. He also wears a gold necklace. He's known for being rather well-dressed, though he has casual attire (expensive casual attire).

Personality: Riley is a focused but rather laid-back person. He has his own goals and desires and goes after them with great devotion. However, the pursuits of others are less urgent. He isn't lazy or exceptionally selfish, but because of his privileged upbringing, he likes to see to his own interests before he sees to the interests of others. However, he is fiercely loyal to his friends, especially his Lucario.

He does, however, have a much more personable and outgoing side, which emerges when he is around those he trusts and respects most. His easy-going side also has a bit of a wild streak, and he's been known to raise a bit of hell from time to time and city to city. He's the ultimate lady-killer, using his good looks, charisma, charm, and status to win (and subsequently break) the hearts of women everywhere. He's a connoisseur of the one-night-stand and is prone to seducing women of status, "just for the challenge." But Riley's eye isn't for power; he appreciates beauty no matter what social class it's found in. He enjoys the perks of his status; especially the free drinks and attention it gets him from women.

Upon going into battle, however, Riley changes completely. He becomes like a machine, unceasing, unflinching, and unrelenting in his mission or task. He is no longer either stoic or laid-back, but determined and focused. He becomes a true martial artist: open; empty of preconceptions; flowing, like water. A master of Aura and its great power.

Region From: Sinnoh, Canalave City
Region Currently In: Sinnoh, traveling

History: Riley was raised in a rather wealthy family from Canalave City. His father owned a shipping company and made his fortune there, shipping goods to and from Sinnoh. Riley and his family would often vacation in Celestic Town and Solaceon Town during the summer, and Riley and his Riolu would spend their days exploring the various ruins. Once, while visiting the Celestic Town Historical Research Center, Riley overheard a lecture on the mysterious phenomenon of "Aura." Riley was intrigued by this, and spent several years researching Aura in literature and ancient texts. During high school, he even got an internship at the Celestic Town Historical Research Center where he worked alongside Professor Rowan, who was trying to find a scientific application for Aura. During this internship, they learned that Riley's Riolu was especially in tune with Aura, and used this as a starting point to learn as much as they could.

In one experiment gone awry, Rowan, Riley, and Riolu actually managed to conjure up Riolu's Aura power, and amplify it with a special wave-enhancing machine so that they could study it further. However, while the machine worked perfectly, Riolu's control faltered, and his Aura raged out of control. His power exploded and destroyed the lab, but also sparked his evolution into Lucario. Riley, however, was infused with some of Lucario's abilities, allowing him to wield Aura energies as well. After this development, both Riley and Lucario continued to work with Rowan to better understand their abilities.

Riley began researching the ancient order of Aura Guardians at the Canalave Library and in the ancient ruins located throughout Sinnoh. He learned that the Aura Guardians were Aura-users who traveled throughout the land performing good deeds and passing on their skills to others who possessed the innate ability to manipulate Aura. Riley became determined to revive this mighty order and set out with Lucario to follow in their footsteps. He has since traveled across the world, studying with the greatest of martial arts masters: Koga, Kiyo, Bruno, Chuck, Brawly, and Maylene.

Class: Mystic Avatar/Scientific

Ability: It isn't truly known whether Riley's abilities stem from a scientific accident, or originated from some innate ability that was unlocked during said accident. What is known is that Riley has the ability to manipulate "Aura," the essence of every living creature. With this power, Riley can manifest several abilities:
- Ability to "sense" other Auras and view surroundings even with a blindfold, also allows users to view through some objects.
- Projection of one's Aura; such as to create barriers or attacks, or to increase one's own physical abilities. It can also be used to transfer Aura to others but that method can be fatal to the user.
- Limited telepathy (the ability to project one's thoughts or read some else's surface thoughts).

Both Riley and Lucario are extremely skilled martial artists, as Riley has studied under the greatest of martial arts masters in the world. The practice of martial arts helps to focus and expand their Aura.

Pokemon:

Name/Nickname: Ryu
Species: Lucario
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Ryu is Riley's devoted friend and partner. He is a strong and capable fighter, fully focused on the task at hand. Ryu is very serious and driven, serving as a contrast to Riley's more relaxed nature. Ryu also recognizes when Riley is being too stubborn or self-absorbed, and is often quick to point this out and set Riley straight. In this way, while Riley is the "older brother" and caretaker, Ryu is the grounded voice of reason and logic. Even so, when it comes down to it, Ryu will sacrifice anything and everything for Riley. Ryu is rather unique amongst other Lucario: because of the extensive training of his Aura, he is capable of wielding the mythical "Aura Storm" attack. Additionally, Ryu is capable of Mega Evolving to assist Riley in combat even more.

Name: Oliver Green, the Verdant
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Physical Description: Oliver is rather tall, standing over six and-a-half feet. He's well built, with broad shoulders and well-defined muscles. His body is powerful but lean, emphasizing muscle tone over muscle size. Indeed, Oliver's body looks and feels almost like it was chiseled out of stone. His inherent abilities mean that his body is more resilient, and more resistant to injury and fatigue than a human of similar size and build. Oliver's old injuries are visible in the myriad scars that cover and crisscross his body. Oliver's facial features are strong and defined, almost predatory in nature. He has brown-blonde hair which he's trimmed to a buzz-cut. His eyes, too, are a piercing blue and have been described as "soul piercing."

The most stunning part of Oliver's physiology are the series of scars that mar his entire body. These are the results of various wounds and injuries sustained during his time on the island.

During his off-duty time, Oliver's wardrobe is rather relaxed; he takes to wearing simple, tight-fitting t-shirts or plain-colored long-sleeved shirts that hint at his impressive physique. His usual attire also consists of a pair of black pants or faded, torn, blue-jeans and a pair of sneakers or boots. He also has a well-worn brown leather jacket. He does, however, also own a rather well-stocked supply of fancier clothes for gala events he's required to attend.

When Oliver returned to Viridian City from the island, he had a supplier make a costume for his vigilante activities, lined with Kevlar for protection. The suit is a kevlar polymer weave which makes it extremely light and durable. Attached is a hood which helps hid Oliver's identity. The ensemble a dark green color as a tribute to the Pokemon that trained him.

Personality: Prior to his time on the island, Oliver was the stereotypical pampered and spoiled bad boy brat. Coming from an unimaginably wealthy and privileged family, he came to act and think as though he was incapable of having any problems. He was a playboy and notorious womanizer, had more interest in being the life of the party and didn't care who got hurt due to his actions. He was laid back, selfish, reckless, traits he shared with his best friend. He repeated the same mistake over and over again, dropping out of four schools and cheating on his girlfriend with her own sister. Despite his party-boy persona, Oliver loved, and cared for his family, his little sister in particular.

Upon being marooned on the island, Oliver began to change, so much so he stated the day he went missing was the day he died. He originally retreated into a shell. After being helped and taught by the Pokemon inhabitants of the island, Oliver begins to change. He learns how to survive and begins his training as a warrior. He is a quick learner, quickly mastering the skills and abilities his Pokemon island-mates displayed and showed him.

Overtime Oliver gained a much needed sense of direction, loyalty, principles and honor. He twice sacrificed his chance to return to Viridian City in order to protect his friends. When he finally did return to Kanto, he was a completely different person. Upon revealing to the world he was alive after 5 years of being marooned, Oliver masked how he had matured by using the same playboy image he was before. In reality, he had become a stern, disciplined, responsible, serious individual and an intelligent, calculating individual, warrior and tactician, who would always look out for those he cared for, with a newly defined sense of loyalty and service, moral compass and an indomitable will, though a severely traumatized and damaged individual.

Oliver is immensely disciplined emotionally. A driven and determined person, Oliver is nearly fearless and almost never gives up under most situations. He excels at masking and compartmentalizing his emotions. He has both a dry and sarcastic sense of humor. Oliver has shown to be very sharp, aware of his surroundings, able to determine much of the events that transpired from little evidence. A very methodical man, Oliver has shown to be alert and adaptive to various situations. He is a quick learner, having gained great knowledge, if not skill, in various fields. He is highly tactical, both in preparation and while in action, able to quickly analyze the situation and how best to handle it. Oliver is also capable of psychological warfare, using his enemies' plans and wants against them all while feigning defeat when apparently beaten.

Region From: Kanto
Region Currently In: Kanto
History: Oliver was born to Robert and Moira Green of Viridian City, into the lap of luxury with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was the stereotypical spoiled rich boy. Growing up, he was involved in multiple scandals; assaulting a paparazzi bystander, stealing a car, drunk driving said car, and destruction of public property. By the time he was twenty-two, he'd dropped out of four Ivy-League schools.

During a yacht trip with his father (and his girlfriend's sister), their boat went caught in the midst of a terrible storm. A shipwreck occurred, leaving only Oliver, Robert, and one other crew member as the only survivors. As there were not enough provisions to keep all of them alive, Robert chose to give his son a better chance at survival by shooting first the other survivor, then himself, but not before telling Oliver that their wealth had been built on the suffering of others, and it was up to him to make things right and to survive.

Sometime later, Oliver landed ashore upon an island. There, while burying his father, Oliver found a book filled with names in Robert's pocket. On the island, Oliver was befriended by a group of Pokemon, first among them a Decidueye, who he began calling "Ghost." Ghost took Oliver under his wing (literally) and taught him how to survive on the savage island...and how to fight. Over the course of the next five years, Oliver trained relentlessly. He also further studied his father's list and learned more about Viridian City's corruptness and set a mission for himself, vowing to either extort or kill all those on the list who'd harmed Viridian City. He also designed a green suit to conceal his identity. During those five years, Ghost was killed, but Oliver honored his memory by looking after his daughter, who Oliver called Shado.

Oliver and Shado were eventually spotted by a fishing boat and was rescued, eventually returning to Viridian City. Once home, Oliver was given several medical exams that revealed that he had multiple scars, burns and bone fractures that had never properly healed. Oliver was determined to right his father's wrongs and protect his city, and he began his vigilante crusade against the corrupt and criminal elements that had been plaguing it.

Class: Mystic Avatar

Ability
: Oliver's power is his mystic bond with the Pokemon that trained him. He is able to empower his projectiles with elemental energies and even conjure whole projectiles to fire at his enemies. His physical capabilities with regards to strength, speed, dexterity, reflexes, stealth, and stamina have been push to the very brink of human limitations -- so much so, in fact, that many of his skills seem supernatural rather than the result of intense training.

Oliver is an extremely skilled archer, able to precisely hit targets from great distances. He can shoot 6 bouncing tennis balls without missing in quick succession, shoot objects off of people without harming them and retain his accuracy even whilst he was in rapid movement. He can also anticipate an enemy projectile to block it with an arrow and fire multiple arrows at once. Throughout his career as a vigilante, word quickly spread that Oliver never misses. He also has skills in close-combat, able to shift between melee fighting and shooting with ease.

Oliver excels in close-range combat, proficient in various strikes, grapples, blocks, throws, take-downs, and holds. His style shows advanced skill in numerous martial disciplines and can effectively change his battle tactics and attack patterns to suit the situation and compete against multiple people at once. He is additionally well-trained with handheld weapons: knives, sticks, and swords.

Oliver is an accomplished acrobat, capable of scaling buildings, and running from rooftop to rooftop with ease. He is maneuverable and graceful, able to pursue and outrun a target in various types of terrains. His skills allow him to fluidly dodge and attack from different directions without losing balance. Oliver has great survival skills, as he was taught by Ghost and Shado how to survive in the wild. He was able to live on the island and provide for himself. His skills and willpower allowed him to survive near-death experiences. He is also an master escape artist, able to free himself from various confinements. Oliver is able to pick up danger before anyone else in his vicinity does, showing noticeably sharp hearing and sight. His keen skills of perception offer aid in otherwise detrimental situations.

Oliver is in top physical form after five intense years of survival which he maintains through various extensive training regimens. Oliver is strong enough to incapacitate much larger people and can breaking a grown man's neck with little effort. He is also strong enough able to knock people off the ground with ease. Oliver's reflexes are fast enough to catch an incoming arrow or deflect it with a hand-held object. His durability is also remarkable as he is sturdy enough to be unfazed by a pool stick broken across his chest and is resilient to blows from those with greater strength than himself.

Pokemon:

Name/Nickname: Shado
Species: Decidueye
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Shado was shown to be kind and mature for her age, often giving Oliver wisdom and guidance during his training with her. She did not refrain herself from hurting or killing anyone if the need arose. Her mentoring and her father's, as well as their friendship's and sacrifice, also had a deep impact on Oliver's life who wore the green hood as the Verdant to honor them both.

Why not both?
Okay, I'll just plop a WIP here. I may add in another character later.

First Character:
Name: 63-A-962 (Goes by ‘Rhuna’, occasionally 'Rhine’.)
Gender: Female
Age: 20.

Physical Description:
NDbNjCo.png

Rhuna is often mistaken for someone much younger than she actually is (she suspects that it may be due to a problem with the genetic modification process she underwent as a child). Many people seem to think she is still around 14 years old, due to her small and 'underdeveloped' body, as well as her big eyes, features commonly associated with children. Her skin is on the paler side, and she generally gives of a sort of delicate, porcelain-statue feel, like if you hit her hard enough, something would break. (Something does, but it would probably your arm). Many people feel the need to keep her out of danger. She is often described as being 'cute', and evokes a 'OMG I WANNA HUG HER' kind of response from many people. At least, that is how she looks from far away. Once you get close enough, you would find that she has some disturbingly un-childlike and un-cute features. For one, her eyes are a burning, unnaturally bright scarlet red colour, something that most people find unsettling. Especially in battle, her eyes seem to shine with an almost manic light, often enough to make people wonder about how mentally stable she is. Her black hair isn't exactly short, but it isn't really long either, her two braids reaching down to her shoulders. She doesn't really pay attention to it, so it can often look rather messy.

As for clothes, Rhuna identifies as a witch, and dresses the part, complete with the old-school witch's hat and cape. She prefers red clothing, but since they tend to stand out more, usually goes with black. Her standard attire is a rather medieval-looking red t-shirt with white patterns on it, which is a tad bit too big for her (it flaps in the wind, which she thinks is cool). Over that, she wears an ankle-length cape/cloak, which is sometimes red as well but usually a dark grey colour with a yellow border, which helps her blend in a bit better with the shadows. She wears a witch's hat which has a vaguely scarecrow like pattern stitched onto it, but will often swap it out for a plainer black/grey one if she needs to be a bit more discreet. She wears long pants with a silky kind of sheen to them, and always goes barefoot. All of her clothes have a sort of strange shine when put under the right light, since they are coated in a film-like substance that protects them from the heat her own explosions generate. She will sometimes wear a shield-shaped or rectangular eyepatch over her left eye, which sometimes has a white, fire design on it. She carries a wooden staff with a curved end that has a strange, oddly shaped rock on it, which sometimes glows a dark purple or emits a shadowy kind of mist (it's her Spiritomb Yami's Odd Keystone).

Personality: Rhuna has a textbook case of Chuunibyou, of the ‘Evil Eye’ variety. Having carefully constructed her dramatic and cool ’Witch’ personality, she uses it as a shield against the brutal reality of a world in which nobody but a glowing stone cared about her. Whenever the darkness of the world she sees starts to get to her, she retreats behind a wall of wild, unrestrained imagination and overly boisterous mannerisms, and that helps her deal with everything and keep herself functioning. She holds an extremely negative view of the world, seeing people as being shallow, petty, driven only by selfishness. It’s a worldview that has been hammered into her head via countless rejections, cold shoulders, and lack of empathy, and despite her efforts, she finds it difficult to see people in any other light. She is scared of having to come to terms with the world being a terrible place, and tries to put something that final as far away from her as possible, hoping to avert that sort of eventuality, although she finds herself slowly drifting in that direction whenever she stops to think about her life.

As a result of this, Rhuna isn’t exactly fond of interacting socially with other people, and when she is forced to, often finds herself at a loss about what to do. She gets flustered easily, but always manages to hide it well, either by playing the ‘cool silent guy’ and not speaking much, or letting her mouth run on incessantly, putting up her Chuuni tendencies as a shield of sorts. She hates relying on other people (Pokemon are different), and will do things alone if it is in any way possible, even if it would take much longer. She’s afraid of allowing others to support her, because she worries that the support would be there one moment and gone the next (like how her friend Fern was snatched away from her in an instant). She has the ‘If you don’t let others close, they can’t hurt you’ sort of mentality. She hates being tied down or controlled, not wanting anybody to have power over her. She hates being touched, and will try to avoid skin-on-skin contact at all costs when not in battle.

Due to the fact that her education pretty much stopped once the facility she was kept in was destroyed, Rhuna isn’t exactly book-smart. However, she is naturally quite intelligent (not incredibly so, but she’s definitely on the brighter side), and doesn’t find it difficult to pick up new information and concepts when they are explained to her (the fact that she doesn’t like other people teaching her things, preferring to learn from books, is another matter). She is well versed in fiction, having read a lot of it, but doesn’t know non-fiction at all. When it comes to things like the sciences, mathematics or humanities, however she knows about as much as an eleven/twelve year old would.

Rhuna also derives a sort of insane, even sadistic pleasure from seeing things perish in fiery explosions, something she discovered during her time with Yami in the Viridian Forest. She likes it to the point where she just has to see something - no matter how small - explode violently on a daily basis, or she starts to get kind of stressed out. Her eyes have an unnervingly manic glow to them, causing people to sometimes think of her as being insane, or at least mentally unstable. Having grown up without any loving parent in a cold environment, Rhuna seems to lack a strong sense of empathy (it’s there, but it’s very weak), causing her to be extremely brutal and heartless at times, especially during battle, where she must choose between causing huge damage or none at all (due to the destructive nature of her power). She tends to have a very low opinion of herself, seeing herself as a selfish, negative person who’s only skill is destroying things. She often tries to avoid utilising the full power of her explosions, because she feels like something so destructive shouldn’t be used freely.

However, beneath all of the psychologically messed-upped-ness, she is still a child at heart. Having never had a parental or guiding figure of any sort, she still lacks the maturity of many adults. She is truly a warm and tender person, and wants nothing more than to live the life of someone who is loved and accepted. If you constantly and unfailingly treat her well, and she will often find herself treating you well despite the fact that she thinks she ought to ’know better’. She also enjoys stereotypically young-girl-ish things like shopping or gossip (not that she has anyone to do it with), and has a soft spot for cute things. She dislikes that part of her, seeing it as naive and too vulnerable a weak point, and goes to great lengths to try and keep it at bay or kill it entirely, although she never seems to be able to (Which is why her ‘cute’ appearance ticks her off somewhat). She still often finds herself reminiscing about the time she spent together with Fern, and wants nothing more than to have that kind of relationship again with someone.

Region From: Kanto
Region Currently In: Unova

History: The instant she was born, before she was even given a name, Rhuna was donated to Project Pantheon - an underground scientific endeavour who’s purpose was to give humans the power of Pokemon through genetic modification in order to create a team of super-soldiers. As a result, she spent the first two years or so all but isolated from the world, given all sorts of injections and implantations on a daily basis, having to go through all sorts of physical and mental examinations. Not having a loving presence in her life is what caused her lack of some of the more fundamental emotional skills, leading to her often brutal lack of empathy. The tests would continue on a daily basis throughout her time in the facility, and it was always painful (being aimed at testing the limits of her body), to the point where she had started to grow numb to physical pain as a way to adapt.

At age two, when she began to speak, she was put in a small ‘education unit’, the aim being to educate the children in a similar manner to a kindergarten, except with training in combat skills and knowledge added in from day one. It was there that she made friends with another girl who, being one year her senior and very gifted, protected and assisted her when it was needed. Like her newfound friend, she soon began to demonstrate combat and mental prowess significantly above the others in their unit, landing her in a sort of accelerated class alongside the other girl. There, they were taught to control the powers that had been gifted to them. A few years down the line, after reading a particularly interesting novel, she, alongside with her friend, decided to give themselves a name - she chose Rhuna, her friend ‘Fern’. With no parental figure to guide them in a heartless and often cruel environment, they turned to each other for both emotional and physical support, growing very close. They would often turn to their own fanciful imaginations as a way of escaping from the coldness and emptiness of their current existence, and often liked to role-play, setting the grounds for her later Chuunibyou tendencies.

When she turned eleven and Fern twelve (all the children donated to the project had their birthdays on the same day, regardless of when they were actually born), the facility they were stationed at was raided by a remaining faction of Team Rocket that had still hoped to restore their organisation to their former glory. In the chaos that followed, the two of them were separated, and Rhuna ended up fleeing into the woods near the facility, escaping the carnage relatively unscratched. Alone, with Fern nowhere to be seen, she pretty much freaked out. When a grunt came into the forest following a trail of trampled plants, she had, out of instinct, lashed out. The resulting explosion killed her pursuer, and she felt nothing.

For the next few weeks, she lived in that forest, foraging for berries as a way to find food (she had been taught how, although this was the first time she could have applied that knowledge). Along the way, she picked up an odd rock with strange patterns on it and, desperate for some sort of companionship, started speaking to it and treating it like a friend. It was also in that forest that she began to develop her ‘fake identity’, as a sort of desperate way to find an identity for herself. She also began to use the act of blowing things up as a way to relieve stress, and developed a sort of dependency on it, to the point where she pretty much had to cause at least a small explosion once a day. Eventually, she decided that in order to survive, she would have to seek out civilisation, so that was what she did. As it turned out, she had been in Viridian Forest, and after a bit of walking, she found herself in Viridian City, where she began to steal the things she needed (starting with a set of clean clothes and a traveller’s backpack), using her small frame and incredible agility to get away with it. She stayed in Viridian for a while, but was eventually forced to leave when people began to grow suspicious of her.

After that, she travelled around Kanto, wandering aimlessly. At that point, she had become old enough (or could pass as being old enough) to be hired for some jobs, and she did her best to keep her shady past hidden. Having no real means of identification, she couldn’t land an official job, so she ended up simply doing odd jobs for anybody who would pay her for it. It was by no means a stable income, and she would often end up sleeping on the ground in a forest after getting stiffed, but, coupled with the money she got from battling trainers on her travels, it allowed her to get by without having to resort to theft. Her strange mannerisms, as well as the rumours that flew about regarding her past seemed to always weigh in on her interactions with others, often making them suspicious or even openly hostile towards her. As her jobs often carried her to shady places, she spent her adolescence surrounded dishonourable people doing dishonourable things, which, alongside the coldness and cruelty she was subject to throughout her life, built her cynical worldview. During this period of her life, she would often visit libraries (since they were free, and offered form of entertainment), and read a lot, growing increasingly obsessed with Fantasy and, to a lesser extend, Sci-Fi. Having nobody to rely on but herself in an environment that wasn’t exactly forgiving, she turned to books as a form of escape.

Eventually, wanting to put her past behind her, she left Kanto to go to Unova, where she continued to travel aimlessly, doing odd jobs for a living. No longer having a shady past and unpleasant rumours weighing her down, she found herself feeling a lot happier. She had originally planned on settling down, but had been unable to, due to her fear of setting down roots and relying on other people in a community, as well as having been afflicted with a sort of wanderlust over her years of travelling. She did her best to keep her powers hidden, always going into forests or other remote places when looking to blow something up as part of her almost daily routine, and even then, she tried to keep such explosions as small as possible. She is currently in Driftveil City, looking for some sort of work.

Class: Scientific Experiment.
Ability: Rhuna had her DNA spliced with that of a Turtonator, resulting in her skin and hair being an incredibly explosive, yet resistant material. Any exposure to fire or a significantly large impact will result in an explosion of according magnitude. They range from being small sparks to something resembling several grenades detonating at once. Soaking her in water will render her explosive powers much less potent, but only for half an hour or so. Her reaction speed, sensitivity to her surroundings, and natural agility/speed have also been enhanced to levels far above a normal human's, although her strength has not.

Her skin is extremely heat resistant, and her entire body is very resistant to the damage her own explosions cause. Her bones are strong and heal fast, and while it isn't difficult to injure her (not much harder than injuring a normal human), it is significantly harder to actually cause long-term damage. Occasionally, when forced to overextend herself, her explosions can become too powerful for her own body, resulting in some pretty severe injuries (she does not know this for a fact, having never tried it before, but thinks that it’s a possibility).

She has also been trained in hand to hand combat, and is proficient in the use of many weapons (having been trained in them throughout her childhood). However, due to the fact that her explosions are so powerful, she doesn’t really need those skills, so they’re a little rusty. Instead, she has her own sort of fighting style, which alternates between ranged combat using Yami’s attacks and physical attacks delivered with maximum power/speed at point-blank range. It is designed to either wear the enemy out, then end them in a single blow, which is often quite possible.

She uses her staff, which has Yami's keystone on it, as a weapon. Her Spiritomb fires attacks from its vantage point on the tip of it, as well as using moves like Protect as a defensive measure. It can also be used as a weapon in close combat, and moves like Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch make it a possibility, although Rhuna has found that using her explosions is more effective They have learned to co-ordinate their attacks via a sort of code tapped onto the staff, coupled with its movements.

Pokemon:

Pokemon Sheet:
Name/Nickname: Perfect Dark (Nicknamed Yami, because Perfect Dark is a mouthful to say)
Species: Spiritomb
Gender: Nobody really knows, but Rhuna thinks of her as being Female.
Description and Personality: Yami is a rather bland Pokemon, not really having a lot of personality. She's quiet, and pretty much an inanimate object outside of battle, preferring to stay in the odd keystone and not show herself. She is loyal to Rhuna, and follows all of her commands without hesitation. Rhuna likes to talk at length on all sorts of confidential things to her, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that she never talks back. She thinks that the two of them are close, but has no real way of knowing.

They first met in Viridian Forest, where Rhuna picked up her Odd Keystone and began to carry it around like some treasure. Seemingly touched by the care she showed to a seemingly useless object, Yami chose to show herself to the girl, and they had been travelling together ever since. All of this is Rhuna’s speculation, and Yami has never done anything to confirm or disprove it, so she continues thinking of that as what had happened.
Other: She does not have a Pokeball.

Second one:
Name: 63-A-917 (Goes by ‘Ventus’ or ‘Fern’).
Gender: Female
Age: 21

Physical Description:
iEqyFtK.png

Like Rhuna, Fern appears to be a good deal younger than she actually is, having undergone the same genetic modification. She is on the thinner side, which, coupled with her relatively small size and pale skin, often makes people think of her as being fragile and in need of protection, something she doesn't really appreciate. She isn't exactly very short, but her childlike face, lack of development in the bust area, and the fact that she does tend to reach only up to other people's shoulders often makes her seem a lot younger than she actually is, something she doesn't quite appreciate. Her hair is brown and quite long, usually ranging from waist-length to ankle-length depending on when she last cut it. It's also quite messy, and although its length forces her to comb it every now and then, it's usually easy to tell she didn't do a very good job of doing so. Her eyes are a bright leaf green, although they sometimes seem to shift to different shades depending on the light. People tend to describe her eyes as having a sort of clear, clean feel ('like a mountain spring', as she would put it). Her left arm is covered with multiple scars, a constant reminder of her unpleasant past.

As for clothing, Fern likes to dress for function over fashion, although to her those are often one and the same. All of her clothing is quite light and thin, and usually built to allow her maximum freedom of movement (her coat is an exception). She tends to wear black shirts and pants, made of the synthetic material usually made for sports/quick-dry t-shirts. They tend to also have white or grey stripes or other geometric designs on them. Some of her clothes have been very obvious stitched back together after being damaged, but she doesn't really care. They're also loose enough to be quite comfortable and allowing for ease of movement while not getting in the way. She tends to wear trainers or running shoes, and occasionally goes barefoot. Her two signature items of clothing - ones she almost always has on - are her green, leaf-shaped ribbon (a keepsake from her adopted father), and her dark, navy blue overcoat. The ribbon has received a good bit of wear-and-tear, and looks a bit frayed, but she still likes how it looks (and it's the only thing she pays attention to when looking at her appearance). Her overcoat is quite large, and reaches all the way down to her ankles. Its sleeves are also quite voluminous, kind of like a robe. The reason for that? The inside of the coat is almost completely filled with knives of all sorts of shapes and sizes. She also has several belts (looped seemingly randomly around her, actually painstakingly arranged in a pattern in which she would be able to reach any items quickly and easily based on a situation), and pockets, where she stores all sorts of things. During the winter, she occasionally wears a very long and wide scarf of a similar colour, especially when she does not anticipate being in combat.

Personality: Generally, most people who interact with Fern leave with a favourable impression of her. She is the calm, quiet type, but always unfailingly friendly, earnest, and polite despite her tendency to not speak much. She prefers to stay generally unobtrusive and out of the way, doing what she does without being noticed, being the type who’d step out of somebody’s path or hold the door open for someone in a way that is so completely natural that nobody thinks twice about it. She’s rather withdrawn and certainly not expressive, the most significant signs of emotion she offers being a small, happy smile or a slight grimace. People seem to think of her as simply being in a state of tranquil contentment, and she tries her best gives them no reason to think otherwise. Over the years, she has started to feel like she can no longer have fun and feel emotion, and that she sort of ‘died inside’ when the Pantheon Facility was burned down.

While the cuts the time she spent in Project Pantheon had left on her had begun to heal with time under the care of her adopted family, some of the scars (both physical and mental) remain. Her childhood in a brutally unloving environment left her emotionally numb, and her sense of emotion dulled. She doesn’t feel much, and some events which would cause a normal human being to leap up in joy would only elicit a sort of satisfied smile from her. As a result of this, She sees herself as being empty, lacking in that sort of emotional spark that made human beings human. She wants to feel things normal people do, which is why she tried her best to integrate herself into society, but she just can’t.

She often finds it hard to empathise with other people, and occasionally can make comments that are brutally insensitive, simply because she doesn’t understand why people would take it the wrong way. Over the years, she has had enough experience dealing with people to get by without the fundamental empathetic connection people normally form with each other, and can handle most social situations based on that knowledge. Her childhood has left her with a severely underdeveloped sense of emotional awareness, and she isn’t used to dealing with human feelings, be it her own or others, which is why she tries to keep things professional when dealing with people, finding a set of rules easier to follow than a complex web of human emotion. She gets flustered easily and dislikes being paid attention to, preferring to stay on the sidelines. A free spirit at heart, she likes it when she is in full control of herself, unbound by connections to anybody else.

Fern also has a strong aversion to relying on others, preferring to be the one that was being relied on when any co-operation is necessary. She will give help, but never seek it, facing all her difficulties alone when possible. While it has mellowed over the years, she still dislikes people and finds herself unable to shake off the basic conviction that humans are inherently evil in some way. She is instinctively distrustful and wary of others, and will subconsciously move away from people who try and get too close This lead to her being a sort of ‘vacuum person’, with no real friends despite the rather likeable impression she gives. She also has a very low self-esteem, often being incapable of finding merit in herself or her actions and seeing only the negatives. As such, she has very little pride, and feels very little shame, not being afraid to run away from a superior enemy, or bow her head to a superior. She can’t help but feel that she is somehow lesser than other people and in some fundamental way inhuman. The scars and the shoulder pains don’t help.

Fern is a person who tries her best to appear mature and serious. While her physical appearance is often somewhat messy and unkempt, she rarely fails to adhere to the proper etiquette and rules. She puts her jobs (whatever they may be) at the forefront, and everything else second. Her strong sense of duty and a keen awareness of her own obligations often leads her to dislike people who are too carefree, or those who don’t take things that are serious seriously. She can often appear to be a little uptight about rules and restrictions, and while she never takes it upon herself to enforce such rules, she still looks down on those who break them. As a result, she often ends up playing the ‘only sane man’ in a makeshift family full of eccentrics. She pretty much had to play the ‘responsible one’ - the one who did all the housework, who cooked all the meals, who kept everything working - throughout the majority of her life Post-Pantheon, and that mentality carries over to her interactions with people outside of her family. She often feels like she has to be the one to keep everyone on track, and the one to get the job done if nobody else would do it.

Beneath her calm and collected personality, a child who has yet to grow up is hidden, buried under her professionalism. Like her long-lost friend Rhuna, she used to have a rather serious case of ‘Evil Eye’ Chuunibyou when she was younger, using it, like many other children in the facility, as a way of escaping from their own, unpleasant reality. She has grown out of it a bit by now, but the flair for the dramatic that is associated with the ’syndrome’ will occasionally resurface when she is under large amounts of stress, or when she is alone with someone she trusts (those are few and far between). She still has an incredible imagination, and will often spend time thinking up the most ridiculous stories and scenarios, which allow her some sort of Garden of Eden in which she can relax if things ever get too rough.

The only significantly visible trace of her old self that remained is her obsession with bladed weapons, knives in particular. She has a massive collection of all sorts of knives, used for anything between combat and survival to cutting vegetables. She can spend hours on end sharpening and polishing her knives, and is extremely knowledgeable about them. It’s gotten to the point where she almost needs to have some sort of blade on her person, or she starts to feel unsafe and jittery. She is a very different person now, having ‘grown up’, but she misses the sense of joy and exploration her younger self had experienced, and often wonders if she had lost something important as she matured. She still thinks about the time she spent and the connection she shared with Rhuna, often daydreaming about meeting her again.

History: Fern grew up in a lab, the property of a mysterious scientific endeavour known as ‘Project Pantheon’, which aimed to use genetic modification to create a unit of super-soldiers. Unlike the other children, however, she was not donated willingly to the project by her parents before birth. Instead, she had been picked up at around one year old, after her parents, who had been involved in some shady business, were killed in an ‘accident’. As a result, the process (which was designed to work on infants who had yet to be born) was slightly compromised, and she ended up with some defects - namely, a problem with her shoulders which caused them to freeze up every now and then, causing pain which wasn’t insignificant.

However, she still managed to excel, having had a natural instinct for battle, as well as being generally quite an intelligent child. As a result, she was singled out for further observation and placed in an ‘elite class’ of sorts. Naturally, the tests that were performed on her to test her physical and mental prowess were performed more often and more vigorously. Throughout this time, her constant shoulder pains continued to trouble her, and an accident in the testing process left her with several bad lacerations on her left arm, leaving scars. Having nobody to watch over her and the only authoritative presence in her life being a team of scientists who seemed dedicated to causing her pain, she began to grow cynical and resentful, even at a young age. Thankfully, she had one place to turn to for solace - her own imagination, which, even at that time, was bountiful. Despite all of these tests and constant pain, she still managed to excel in her classes.

And then, she found something else to occupy herself with - a friend. A new girl was dropped in the so called ‘elite class’, and the two of them hit off well. Both were gifted with an amazing imagination, and they spent their time together, dreaming up all sorts of stories. They had nobody else to rely on, and because of that, they spent most of their time together, becoming very close. With each other, they would relax, and all the defences they put up to protect themselves would disappear. They opened up to each other, and had a sort of harmonious connection, like siblings or an old married couple, in which they were completely at ease in each other’s presence. This connection allowed them to survive in the cold and often cruel environment of the Pantheon facility, and it was what kept them alive and wanting to live.

A few days after they gave themselves their names, the facility they were at was raided by a remnant of Team Rocket, who were hoping to get their hands on some of the information the Pantheon Researchers had gathered about genetic modification. In the chaos that followed, Fern was separated from Rhuna, and ended up fleeing through Viridian Forest. Along the way, she heard a loud explosion and went to track it, but found nobody at the site. After wandering around for a bit, she stumbled, tired and hungry, into a small, secluded shrine hidden in the depths of the forest, and fell asleep there.

When she woke up, she found that she had been moved into massive, vaguely oriental complex of buildings, buried deep within the confines of the Viridian forest. An old man was sitting there, and introduced himself as ‘Father Qiu’. He asked her for details about her upbringing and circumstances, which Fern told him because she knew there was no use getting out of the situation. Qiu seemed like a dangerous man, and she didn’t want to cross him. After getting as much information out of her as he could, Qiu thanked her, and showed her around the complex, which was almost like a palace. She started living there as a sort of adopted child.

As it turned out, Qiu’s complex - dubbed LANIA by its residents, an an acronym that had lost its meaning over time - was a sort of refuge for retired assassins, weapons dealers, and other people who had once been engaged in similarly dangerous activities and now wanted a peaceful life for themselves, either because of age or injuries.. Qiu himself was a retired master assassin, and had built this complex during his youth. The people who live there live as a sort of closely-knit family, and their secluded position, along with the fact that nobody was looking for them, allowed them peace. Their main source of income was the crafting of weapons - a strictly quality over quantity operation, which was run by passing the items along to a dealer in Viridian who had promised them their anonymity. Qiu took Fern in and, seeing potential in her and hating to have such abilities wasted, began to teach her the ‘arts’, bestowing his own loyal Pokemon to her - his literal sword and shield, Valora the Aegislash.

Throughout the time Fern spent at LANIA, and under Qiu’s tutelage, Fern learnt everything needed to become a successful assassin. Espionage, Stealth, Human (and Pokemon) anatomy, usage of Weaponry and Martial arts - she was taught them all, and learnt them quickly. Qiu was a kindly old man, but also a strict (but very good) trainer, and soon, she was capable of sparring with some of the other, more lively residents of LANIA. Over the course of the four years she spent there, she became part of Qiu’s extended family, and took on the role of housekeeper, cleaning things up and cooking for a ragtag band of retired misadventures. She loved it there, and found a sort of community in which she felt belonged. She looked up to Qiu as both a master and a father, and still thinks of him as a parental figure. (Don’t kill him pls).

After she turned 16, Fern left LANIA in order to get back into the outside world - after all, she couldn’t spend her entire life in that complex. She devoted herself to tracking down what remained of Project Pantheon and Team Rocket, and travelled all over the Kanto region (there was no need to leave, as Project Pantheon seemed to have been confined to Kanto only. with only marginal operations outside of it). She wanted to find out more about her shady past, in order to put the lingering doubts about her own humanity to rest. Having no background and no real means of identification, as well as a generally odd appearance, society did not treat her well. With no other way but odd jobs to earn money, Fern often found herself struggling to survive, looked down upon by society as a whole, and generally disregarded. She was often underpaid, or denied payment entirely, and the line of work her skills seemed to lead her to didn’t exactly take her to the nicest places. Her cynical worldview, which had already been hammered into her being, became even more prominent. She only returned to LANIA twice every year (wanting to make her own way in life), when she was in desperate need of sleep, shelter, or some sort of human love, and was always received warmly, although she began to feel that she was becoming more distant with her old family as time passed. Only Qiu seemed to still share the same, close connection with her. It nagged uncomfortably at her, but she didn’t do much about it, continuing to travel by herself, alone - she had become accustomed to that lifestyle, and, try as she might, she couldn’t change it.

Class: Scientific Experiment
Ability: Fern’s DNA had been spliced with that of a Ninjask, giving her all the properties of a ‘fragile speedster’. Her body is much lighter, and much more agile than that of a normal human being. This allows her to jump really high/far, and makes her great at performing all sorts of crazy acrobatics, both on the ground and in the air. She is also extremely, extremely fast, to the point where she can run short distances on directly vertical faces. During battle, she can make use of ‘Flash Stepping’ - bursts of speed which are fast enough to resemble teleporting when used over short distances. Her reaction time and her senses have also been enhanced. She is fast enough to dodge bullets and other projectiles with ease, although keeping up that speed takes a large toll on her. She is also capable of vibrating her limbs at a very fast speed, although she has yet to find a use for this power beyond cooking (she is a pretty good cook, when she can get the ingredients).

Unfortunately, the fusion wasn’t perfect. Due to the light nature of her body, she is also very fragile, and not very good at taking hits. Her bones seem to be weaker than those of an average person, perhaps to make her lighter and faster, at the expense of some durability. She also isn’t very physically strong, and the power behind most of her attacks comes more from momentum/speed than physical strength. She also tires easily and has poor stamina, forcing her to use an all-in sort of strategy, relying on her incredible speed and agility to overwhelm and quickly dispose of her opponents before she gets tired. She is also prone to paralysing pains in her shoulders of no real discernible reason, but since they are more prevalent after a fight, she links them with her powers, and theorises that it may have bee caused by a failed attempt to get wings onto her. As a result, she tends to like to use her legs in combat whenever possible, reserving her arms for throwing knives/shooting guns instead of physical contact.

She knows some martial arts and self-defence techniques, but her relatively frail body makes her ill-suited for hand-to-hand combat. Instead, she uses a large arsenal of different weapons, consisting mainly of knives and daggers (both for throwing and the standard stabbing/slashing), as well as two pistols and several other miscellaneous items depending on what she decided to bring. She is a master at using all of her weapons, especially her knives, to the point where she can throw knives at a moving target and have every single one graze their left ear (of course, this depends on how skilled the person is at dodging / how unpredictable they are). She’s also received training in other weapons, but prefers to stick with her blades and guns.

Pokemon: (full team if Master Trainer, single Pokemon if other)

Pokemon Sheet:
Name/Nickname: Valora ( Usually shortened to ‘Val’)
Species: Aegislash
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Valora is a literally battle-scarred veteran (scratches and dents on the metal of her blade and shield), fearless and extremely loyal. She is confident in her own abilities, and will put her life on the line to defend her masters. The strong and silent type, she usually floats around, about half a meter or so away from Fern. She is the reserved and caring type, and quite friendly to those without any ill-will. Fern’s adopted father Han was her original owner, but due to his retirement, she was given to Fern. During battle, she tends to stay in her shield form, protecting Fern from damage and also giving her stepping stones in the air for her acrobatics. Their teamwork is superb, and orders are rarely needed between them. Fern considers Valora one of her only friends.

My will be done
Name: Wilhelm Carbalns.
Gender: Male.
Age: 45
Physical Description: Wilhelm is short, muscular and constantly scowling. His face is weathered and disfigured with burns, and his body bears many scars, from fights he barely won, from events he hardly survived. His hair is kept in a rather patchy state, burnt bald spots mixed in with prematurely graying hair. He has a rather square head, brown eyes, and a small, crooked nose.

Everything he wears is either grey, or camouflage of some type. He is rather sensitive of his deformed, scarred visage. Thus, he wears a gas mask at all times. He has a rather high tolerance for pain, a trait that has saved his life on dozens of occasions. Furthermore, he carries a backpack full of improvised explosives, crude tear gas grenades, and survival equipment (food, a bedroll, rope, water filtration equipment and a crowbar). He wears a leather belt around his waist, with his Pokéballs on that. Where he got his clothing or equipment from is unknown.

He always seems to try to make himself look as small as possible, and is in excellent physical shape for someone his age, able to easily fight people half his age. Indeed, he's about as tough as he's ever been, age only lining the non-scarred portions of his face.

Personality: One word describes Wilhelm: spiteful. More words, such as bitter, jealous, and cynical can be added. Wilhelm has seen much, and endured more. Colleague after colleague has perished in front of him. This, along with his natural predisposition for depression, has wreaked havoc on his psyche. Wilhelm is paranoid to the point of insanity, and bears many emotional faults. He outright refuses to talk to others about his past, although, if pressed, he will fly into a rage.

He holds special hate for what he calls "jigs" or "taints", (Scientific Experiment-class people.) . He believes they will cause far more damage than stop, and that they are controlled by their creators. He will, if possible, attempt to abandon or outright kill them, or run and break down in tears. Any "jig" that summons fire can cause him to mentally revert to the events that scarred his face. In this state, he will refer to the nearest, male normal person as "Williams" he will attempt to force this person to the ground, for their safety. He is rather afraid of fire, due to the injuries he has sustained due to it. He has mixed feelings about law enforcement, due to his life. Mystic Avatars unnerve him slightly, but he will co-operate with them, as long as they avoid overusing their abilities. Overuse to him varies on a minute-to-minute basis.

Despite all this, he is loyal to a fault, perhaps due to his abandonment as a child. Once his trust is lost, however, he will hold a grudge until his dying breath. While his trust is almost impossible to gain, he will do almost anything for those he called friend, and more than a few of his scars are due to him trying to shield them from harm.

Region From: Sinnoh, Jublife
Region Currently In: Sinnoh, Snowpoint City.

History: (What you've done previous to this point. Be realistic: someone at 15 wouldn't have traveled through 15 different regions, beaten 120 Gyms and come in first in EVERY single league. Also, if your abilities come from scientific experimentation, explain the situation…be realistic.)

Wilhelm grew up poor. Dirt poor. Surviving in the forgotten slums of Jublife, he learned several things: Be alert, be brutal, and always have a backup plan. Despite how callous and underhanded he was, however, Wilhelm was still socially awkward and somewhat shy. Orphaned at the age of five, due to an incident with a gang, and forgotten in the spiraling bureaucracy of Jublife, Wilhelm entered a drug ring to survive. Too cowardly to commit any serious crimes, smuggling things from point a to point b. Any gunfights or "negotiations" were beyond his stomach. However, he loathed his superiors, and eventually managed to ditch them.

Unsure of himself, he enlisted in the police force at the age of eighteen, trying to stop the gang warfare in Jublife's slums, to prevent anyone from growing up like he did, and was a rather standard cop, and a surprisingly good Trainer. Despite his awkwardness, he made a few friends, and was a lot more outgoing, courageous, and confident in a few years.

However, when he was twenty two, he got into an altercation with a member of Team Galactic. This particular one was a scientific experiment, and was able to control and summon flames. In his fight with the criminal, he sustained severe burns and lost several friends, before the criminal was crushed by the psychic power of his Pokémon. His luck was poor, and time after time he would encounter similar incidents, no matter how well he prepared, gaining new injuries, and losing old friends after each botched battle, after each "jig" attack.

After years of this, he was no longer the somewhat idealistic policeman he once was, rather, a scowling, furious, near vigilante who ate, slept and lived in the streets, never ceasing his more obsessive fight against crime. It got to the point where he simply forgot he had a life before being a policeman, and simply stated he always was a cop. He became more withdrawn and cynical, afraid to befriend anyone, because he lost enough as it was. Around this time, he started to wear a mask at all times, to hide not only his injuries, but his shame.

Continuing to serve, even with his disfigurements, he was eventually fired due to causing a panic in a crowded area, abuse of power, and dereliction of duty, due to him violently attacking an innocent "jig", as he calls abhuman experiments. Hated and feared, he was pardoned from life in prison by plea of insanity, but he was still incarcerated for years. While he spent most of his time as far from the other inmates as possible, he eventually was forced to interact with them, his history souring any possible friendships, his visage repulsing everyone. Leaving prison a changed man, and not for the better, he attempted to re-enlist to the police, but was refused. Destitute and homeless, he started wandering north, fighting members of Team Galactic wherever he could, using his old Pokémon, regained after years of separation. Well, he actually smuggled them into jail, hid them for years, and walked out with them, but he won't tell anyone.

Even more time passed, and he traveled Sinnoh, brutally stamping out any traces of crime, or genetically altered people, regardless of severity. Silently assassinating members of Team Galactic, sabotaging gang hideouts, and leaving anonymous notes for the police to find. Eventually, he started to slowly wander north, through Mount Coronet, finding his way to Snowpoint. At the outskirts of this town, he currently lives in silence, obsessively tracking Team Galactic, and discreetly terrorizing petty thieves and juvenile delinquents.

Class: Master Trainer
Ability: Baseline human, although athletic and tough. Bears a special hate for "sleepers" or "jigs", as he calls altered humans. Rather capable of surviving in harsh conditions. Due to his upbringing and police training he's an effective, if rather brutish, martial artist. Physically, he is in near peak condition, capable of exerting himself for hours without rest.
Pokemon:

Name/Nickname: Callidus/Cald
Species: Metagross
Gender: None
Description and Personality: Almost as battered as Wilhelm, Callidus is a dented, scratched titan of metal, violently stomping on all in it's path. It shares it's master's hatred of "jigs", often screeching at them in binary when passing by. Callidus has saved the life of Wilhelm on dozens of occasions.
Other: Callidus is Wilhelm's first Pokémon, and they have been together for decades.

Name/Nickname: Ilbans
Species: Walrein
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Rather clean-looking, with a dapper handlebar mustache as well as the massive beard his species grows, Ilbans takes special pride in his appearance, as well as his capacities in battle. Indifferent to people until they threaten him or Wilhelm. Wilhelm claims he can play the saxophone. Nobody has granted him the chance to, however.

Name/Nickname: Rezas
Species: Ampharos
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Rather timid, Rezas prefers to stay far from combat, although she is more than capable of firing powerful electric blasts at her foes. Has a strange fondness for Ilbans. Enjoys sand, but is afraid of water.

Name/Nickname: Ricios
Species: Porygon-Z
Gender: None
Description and Personality: Ricios is odd. Porygon-line Pokémon are difficult to explain in general, if explicable at all. Ricios "twitches" or warps between various poses seemingly at random. Looking into its eyes for extended periods of time can cause hallucinations, making the world appear blocky and flat. Tends to stay alone. Fond of reflective surfaces. Is sometimes heard to mutter ominous warnings and chants, especially if forced near another being for long periods of time.

Name/Nickname: Diablos
Species: Houndoom
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: The snarling, burning visage of Diablos is not a pleasant one, nor is his temper. A violent, vicious, bloodthirsty monster, Diablos has one purpose in life: slaughter. With no concept of "restraint" or "collateral damage", Diablos is generally the "Plan B" option, and rarely sees combat. But when he does, the results are horrific. Is liable to fall into random fits of rage. Sadistic and hateful. Still loyal to Wilhelm, however.

Name/Nickname: Lussa
Species: Espeon
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Lussa is probably the calmest of Wilhelm's Pokémon, with only Ilbans comparing in temperament. Fond of reading minds at rest, and awe-inspiring displays of psychic power, when roused. Lazy to an extreme. Obsessed with her own appearance.

Posting a WIP for now. Let me know when there is something you dislike.

Name: Silas Denver
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Region From: Kanto
Region Currently In: Johto
g9CeW5n.png

Physical Description: Silas is slightly above average height for a young man of his age. He has a slender and fit body, due to both being a dancer, and working out quite often in order to maintain it. His skin is pale. Like.. Deathly pale. And sensitive. This is because of his inability to get a tan when in the sun, always resulting in burnt tomato rather than the Jersey Shore look. He is quite easy to spot in a crowd, due to his lavender hair and ominous yellow eyes. His eyebrows are a dark contrast to his hair and skin, and are . His hair is short with a spiky front, easily maintained yet formal, despite its odd color. His yellow eyes, despite his outgoing persona and behavior, always seem to have a dead look to them, being void of any emotions. His face is overall fair and symmetrical.

For clothing, Silas dressed in quite simple fashion. He's not over the top on brands and expensive clothing, but he has standards. His normal attire consists of a pair of slim black jeans, with a slim purple T-shirt. Over that, he wears a formal-looking suit jacket. His mix between formal and casual is also mixed in with a hint of Comfortable, as he wears a pair of brown suit shoes, designed for comfort. (was a 50% off sale at the mall). He doesn't fancy wearing any accessories of any kind

Personality: At first glance, one would likely assume Silas is one of those silent, "cool" kinds of guys, but once you get past his more or less dead eyes, he's a surprisingly normal person. He is friendly and outgoing to the people he meets, although a bit secretive. He is more or less always found with a smile on his face, although, due to his eyes people assume he's faking it. He is caring, both to the people around him and to Pokemon. He has an affinity for Ghost-Types, due to his abilities, and the fact that he can understand them, and communicate with them. He is social by nature, although he has a fine line between socializing, and being the center of attention, which he often is due to his profession. He has a tendency to get nervous and timid when a large focus is on him.

He spends the majority of his spare time practicing dancing. He was captivated by the art at an early age, and works out as well. His workout method is mostly a variety of martial arts, courtesy of the Cianwood Gym Leader. He has entered a few regional dancing contests, although he hasn't made a huge name for himself yet. Not that he really thinks about being big. To him, he just enjoys doing what he enjoys. Though he likes being social, he has nothing against being aline either. He is often found on his own int he Ecruteak Theatre after hours with his Oricorio, and other Ghost-Types that decide to drop by. His goal in life is pretty much just to do what he loves, and to be with his friends. Quite basic, and he is aware of that, but he doesn't worry about it. He doesn't really worry about anything besides his looks. Silas can be considered moderately self-aware, and always prioritize looking good. He keeps a small pocket mirror on him at all times, in case he gets an 'instant emergency'.

A somewhat contrast to his personality though, there is another part of his personality that he likes to keep to himself. For starters, he has a bad habit of finding joy whenever people are struck by misfortune or woe. He also has a thing for dark humor, and often laugh at inappropriate times. He can't really help this, and tries covering it up should it happen amongst others. The only one who knows about this is his Oricorio, and a handful of the Ghost-Types of Ecruteak. Despite being calm by nature, he is rather prone to violence as a (slightly rushed) last resort in a situation. He is not bothered by this part of his personality, even though he tries to keep it hidden from more or less everyone. He is reliable, and there is not much he wouldn't do if anyone he cared for was in danger.

History: The exact date of Silas' birth is unclear, and he only knows he was born on a warm spring day. In reality though, he was created in a secret Team Rocket lab way back in the day when they were still trying to mix together DNA from humans and more or less every type of Pokemon out here. In Silas' case, he was fused with DNA from a variety of Ghost-type Pokemon, and was trained at early age to be a weapon for Team Rocket. However, in the very early stages of this malevolent plan, Several young trainers thwarted Team rockets plans, and shut down all of their operations. This meant Silas was now homeless, however, he would soon be found by one of the scientists from the project who, in regret and pity took him in as her own son.

After that, around the age of 5, he and the scientist he now knew as his mother moved to Ecruteak City in the Johto region. His 'mother' managed to keep a clean slate, and worked at the local Mart. In order to support the two she would be gone for up til 9 hour each day. Due to the oddly low numbers of professional baby-sitters in the area, Silas was tossed around from one god samaritan to another, until he found himself under the care of the towns famous Kimono girls. This was when he developed his interest for dancing, and he would often try and mimick their elegance when they were on the stage, although the traditional style of dancing wasn't really his fortè.

During his early teenage years, he began to be aware of his weird powers growing stronger. He had always had a certain degree of ghostly powers, but now they really manifested. He didn't tell this to anyone, although his mother was aware of what was going on. She also underlined the importance that he kept doing physical hobbies like his dancing up until now. She even arranged with the Gym Leader of Cianwood city to come and train him in martial arts. She figured he'd be better to learn about his skills if he was used to being active. He did, and trained to hone his ghostly powers in secrecy.

Even more years after that, Silas and his adoptive mother was on a vacation to the tropical Alola region. the duo stayed at the Hano Grand Resort. Besides a few sketchy conversations to suspicious-looking sandcastles by the beach, the trip was rather uneventful up until Silas met a certain Pokemon. Ironically not the before-mentioned sandcastle, he met an elegant bird, dancing in a similar fashion to his friends back in Ecruteak. The bird, Oricorio, took a liking to him as well, due to his ability to communicate with Ghost-Types. Facinated by this, his mother promped him to capture Oricorio in a Luxury Ball she had conveniently bought at a shop in a small tourist town nearby.

Now, Silas lives with his adoptive mother in Ecruteak City. He and his partner, Oricorio both spend most of their time dancing, sometimes also working as a Gym Trainer at the local Ghost-Type Gym. His dancing sometimes take him to other regions to compete in regional competitions, and he enjoys traveling and seeing different cultures and regions with his partner.

Old Team Rocket scientific experiment. Experiment compromised. Fled with a researcher to Johto, lived there. Likes dancing, wanted to try dancing, tried dancing, liked dancing, continued with dancing. Met Oricorio on a vacation to Alola. Lives in Ecruteak City

Class: Scientific Experiment
Ability: Silas was the result of trying to fuse a child with DNA samples from a variety of Ghost-Type Pokemon for a variety of effects. Results from this include his odd body physique, ability to communicate with Ghost-Types, and some other effects manifesting in the form of "powers"
For starters, Silas has the ability of going incorporeal. When in this state, he can phase through solid material. The effect can affect anything he touches as well. In this form, he also has the ability to levitate. He doesn't have a heartbeat, and has a pretty solid stamina. Due to his training, he is also a very skilled martial artist.
In addition to this, he is also able to use a few Ghost-Type attacks. These include:
Shadow Claw: Manifesting spiritual energy, Silas lashes out with shadowy extensions of his fingernails.
Phantom Force: Becoming one with shadows, Silas disappears and re-appears for a powerful strike.
Confuse Ray: He can manifest orbs of lights, confusing opponents.
Destiny Bond: Temporarily links Silas to his target. If anything should happen to him, it will also affect the target.

Name/Nickname: Souma
Species: Oricorio, Sensu-Style.
Gender: Male
Description: Souma looks like a regular Oricorio without any specific details.
Personality: Souma is mostly calm and collected by nature. He cares a whole lot about Silas, and of his own performance as both a battler and a dancer. Due to this, he is very focused, and always move in an elegant, graceful way. His graceful nature also comes with a hint of snobbiness towards other Pokemon he deems to be "lesser" then himself. Despite all this, he has a very very short temper, and will throw a tantrum if anything goes wrong, in his eyes.

Why not both?
MY preference is in their 20's. They're going to be sent to fight against essentially terrorists and rogue gods, so...

Would 19 be ok? I'm kind of wary about writing for 20-somethings because they are usually a lot more mature than I like my characters to be. EDIT: Never mind, I aged them up to 20 and 21 anyways.

I'll be adding another character to my other post in a bit.

Yeah, I took that remark a bit far. Hope I didn't make my character too grim. Also, I fail to see the reason of sending twenty year olds against highly armed terrorists, and entities capable of obliterating cities. You'd want someone experienced, toughened, and loyal. Not a couple barely trained rookies.

Huh. I'm already in character.

Solsabre

The Reforged Soul
Done.

Name: Sequoia Redwood
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Physical Description:
Falling short of living up to her namesake, the extinct Kinq Sequoia Redwood trees, Sequoia barely squeaks past a respectable 5'4”. Her body is short and compact with lean muscle from an active lifestyle of rugged living and strenuous hobbies. Reddish-brown hair falls to her waist, but it is kept up in a bun or braided crown on her head most of the time. Light brown freckles adorn her cheeks and her skin is a sandy beige tone. Her face lights up with expressive green eyes.

Sequoia always has a warm, inviting smile on her face with a noticeable dimple on her right cheek. On some occasions, one must watch out for the cheeky smirk and mischievous twinkle gleaming from her eyes. Her posture is usually sure and confident in most situations, ready to react in changing circumstances.

With her everyday clothing, she wears what's comfortable and practical for the moment. Sequoia is quite the tomboy and prefers practical and comfortable clothes for outdoor use. Her usual outfit includes a dark blue tank top with either a form-fitting brown water-resistant jacket or a green utility vest over top and dark brown hiking pants. She dislikes socks and wears hiking sandals everywhere. On her head, a faded forest green army cap is always present to shield her eyes and a set of warped dog tags hang on a chain around her neck. She wears black fingerless gloves with a blue paracord bracelet on her left wrist.

On the job, she slips into a lightweight, but tear and wind resistant jumpsuit for easy of movement while flying or moving on foot across the ground.. Most times, she leaves the top half of her jumpsuit hanging down at the waist. Hiking sandals are switched out for tactical boots. A pair of flight goggles also hang from her neck or perched atop her army cap. She carries everywhere with her a backpack loaded with survival essentials and a shoulder pistol holster hidden under her jacket. In situations requiring it, a rifle is slung in a harness attached to her survival pack.

Personality: Energetic and upbeat, Sequoia looks on the brighter side of life, choosing to make lemonade when handed a lemon. She’s not afraid to do what needs to be done, particularly if it is the right thing to do. Fairly outgoing and compassionate, the red-head will reach out to someone hurting or make they are included in the group. However, when she feels down or sad, Sequoia will separate herself from others as she doesn’t want to cry in front of them.

She’s quite adaptive and quick to think on her feet, especially in relation to her job. In high stress situations, she can keep a cool, level head, though flying in tight maneuvers does brings out her giddy and adrenaline junky side.

She absolutely loves her job as a Ranger, helping people and protecting pokemon. Her pokemon are also her best friends and family, relying on them without hesitation. Sequoia is also completely at home in the sky as she is the wildlands, knowing how to navigate and maneuver in both environments with ease.

People have also called Sequoia absolutely insane on several occasions. She’s completely comfortable in jumping out of a perfectly functioning airplane like it was normal. Flying through the air is her second greatest obsession next to flying with her pokemon. She has tried every type of extreme air sport at one point or another, even wingsuit flying once. Ultralite planes flying being her most frequent hobby between Ranger missions.

Region From: Johto
Region Currently In: Ranger Outpost somewhere north of Blackthorn City
History:Sequoia grew up in a small community in the rugged mountains of eastern Johto. Her mother, Mariah, was a pokemon researcher/rehabilitator in charge of the local rehab clinic. Her father, Quinten Redwood, was a Regional Pokemon Ranger for a nearby Ranger Post. Influenced by her parent’s careers, Sequoia became quite knowledgeable of pokemon, their behaviors, and their habitats.

Sequoia gained her first companion pokemon at age six, a runt charmander, from Charific Valley, where her father occasionally patrolled. The charmander was named Chaz and the two were inseparable. Many of her young years were spent helping her mother care for the pokemon in the clinic after school or spending the weekends with her father at the Ranger Outpost. Her love for flying sprang from tagging along with Quinten Redwood on his aerial patrols over Johto’s eastern mountains, even ranging into the Kanto region sometimes. These bonding times with her father became less occurrence as she got older as Team Rocket was becoming a greater threat and no longer safe for her to tag along.

The undertaking of a pokemon journey wasn’t as big of a deal for Sequoia as she was constantly surrounded by pokemon and the wilderness on a daily basis. However, finally, when she was thirteen, she and Chaz, now a Charmeleon, set off to discover the rest of Johto and take the Gym Challenge to test their skill. Sequoia wasn’t in a particular hurry to collect all the badges and participate in the Johto League Tournament. Oftentimes, she’d return home to continue helping in her mother’s clinic or put in flying hours at the Ranger Outpost airstrip to gain her pilot’s license. At age 18, Seqouia flew solo for the first time and earned her pilot’s license for small personal aircraft.

Shortly before her first tournament of the same year, Sequoia was camping in a wooded mountain valley on a break from training. A freak wildfire broke out and drove the young trainer and her Scyther, Blade, to seek safety. However, the pair was surrounded on all sides. Blade, being more vulnerable to the fire, collapsed from the searing flame. Sequoia threw a wet bedroll over the exhausted scyther and assisted him further. When all hoped seemed lost, an orange blur swooped down to grab the pair from the thick smoke and fire to fly to safety. Her charmeleon, Chaz, evolved to Charizard in a desperate attempt to find his trainer and fellow pokemon. The incident with the wildfire aided in strengthening the bonds of trust and respect between Sequoia and her oldest pokemon partners. Just in time, Sequoia participated in her first league tournament in Johto, doing extremely well in the rankings, especially considering she’d chosen to specialize in a mostly Flying-type pokemon team at such a young age.

Sequoia continued her journey thoroughly exploring the Kanto Region and collecting gym badges. By the time she was 21, the flying specialist participated in Kanto’s Pokemon League Tournament and finishing in second place. However, Sequoia’s achievement was overshadowed by a late night called from a man named Franklin Dunham, who was her father’s supervisor. Her told her to hurry to Indigo’s Plateau’s Emergency Pokemon Hospital. A severely wounded Arcanine with gunshot wounds was airlifted in by a familiar Ranger Helicopter. The Arcanine was her father’s long time partner, Vulcana. Franklin broke the news of her father’s death by a Team Rocket Sniper while in the line of duty. Devastated, Sequoia remained at the hospital only until Vulcana was recovered enough to return home to Mariah’s rehab clinic along with the Chansey, Mayday.

Weeks following the incident, the luster of the pokemon journey as a Pokemon Trainer diminished. Instead, Sequoia chose to follow in her father’s footsteps as a Pokemon Ranger. A career she easily took to as she’d grown up at her father’s Ranger Post. On top of an 8-week intensive basic training course, Sequoia opted to receive pistol and side arm training. Quinten Redwood had been of the purist mindset and relied only on his pokemon partner and Capture Styler device. Sequoia wanted every means of defending herself available just in case. On her graduation day, her mother, Mariah, presented Sequoia with two gifts her late father had been saving to give her when the time was right: two pairs of Mega stones and keystones, Charizardite X and Scizorite. However, she couldn’t use the Scizorite mega stone with Blade as he refused to evolve to Scizor.

For the next seven years, Sequoia was assigned to the same Ranger Post and airstrip her father belonged too, under supervision of Commander Franklin Dunham as part of a Pokemon Ranger Rapid Response team. She would partake in missions of patrolling pokemon reserves for poachers and trespassing trainers. Rescuing wild pokemon in need or tracking down lost campers were frequent occurrences as well as aiding in recovery in natural disasters. Increasingly, her ranger team busted up Team Rocket operations with every coming year. In between missions, Sequoia learned the ins and outs of aircraft maintenance and repair as the Outposts were largely self-reliant and independent with limited budgets. Her sharp-shooting skills also developed to an advanced level. She eventually became the Ranger Outpost’s primary pilot and Field Coordinator for missions. She also acquired the braviary, Yahto, and the young Gyarados, Guppy, to round out her current team.

Class: Master Trainer
Abilities:
Survivial/tracking skills
Emergency First Aid for humans and pokemon
Qualified pilot for small personal aircraft (Though she’ll claim she can fly anything)
Small Arms and Rifle sidearms training
Emergency and Minor Aircraft Repair Mechanic
Pokemon:

1.
Name/Nickname:
Chaz
Species: Charizard
Gender: Male
Description: Larger than average Charizard, rugged and scarred appearance from numerous fights over the years.
Personality: Very protective of Sequoia, Chaz acts more like an older brother than partner to her. He’ll try to act cool, but he’s a natural hot head as he feels the need to prove himself since he was the runt of his hatch brood. Despite this, he’s taken to leadership rather well with maturity, the responsibility tempering his hot emotions. He does show-off from time-to-time, but when duty calls he becomes focus and serious. When he does have occasional doubts, he’ll go to Vulcana for advice. He’s deeply loyal to his trainer and teammates and will go to any length to help them. He has a friendly rivalry with Blade.
History: Chaz grew up alongside Sequoia, since he was a small charmander in the mountains of Johto. Despite his larger than average size, Chaz was the runt of his hatch brood in Charific Valley. Sequoia’s father, a Pokemon Ranger for the region, took the charmander runt so he wouldn’t be picked on by the other Valley inhabitants. The charmander became a companion and playmate to a young Sequoia and they’d been inseparable ever since then. Chaz was already a Charmeleon by the time Sequoia was old enough to start her pokemon journey. He fights for and alongside his sister in their journey and trials. He also takes responsibility for looking after the other pokemon. He finally evolves to Charizard to search for Blade and Sequoia in a forest fire. He vows to aid Sequoia in her mission to stop more tragedies from occurring due to Team Rocket’s actions after her father’s death. Capable of X Mega evolution.
Team Dynamic: Aerial Support, Muscle, All around assistance

2.
Name/Nickname:
Blade
Species: Scyther
Gender: Male
Description: Normal Scyther, except with a diagonal scar across his snout and right eye.
Personality: A rebel-at-heart, Blade is snarky and sarcastic and constantly testing boundaries. He’ll eventually fall into line when it counts, but it’s like pulling teeth. He’s more cooperative with those that have earned his respect. Oddly, he detests the idea of evolving to Scizor. Otherwise, he’d be capable of Mega evolving from his bond with Sequoia. Despite how much he feuds with Chaz, they are close friends.
History: The first pokemon caught by Sequoia and Chaz, while on their pokemon journey. Blade was resentful and disgusted by the fact he was easily beaten by a wimpy charmeleon. He was a hellion for Sequoia for a long time. During a freak wildfire, the group got separated. Blade tried getting out the forest to safety, but the smoke and fire was blinding and suffocating. The scyther collapsed in coughing fit, resigned to his fate. Before he knew it, a cool, wet blanket was thrown over his soot-covered body. Sequoia hand found him and covered him in her bedroll, which she’d soak in a nearby stream. Shocked by the selfish act, Sequoia supported Blade as they tried to make their way out of the fire. However, the wildfire was going more intense and widespread by the minute. Just as things looked bleak, a winged form swooped down through a clearing in the trees and lifted them from the burning forest. Chaz had found them after newly evolving to Charizard in a desperate and determined attempt to find his trainer and friend. Blade respected them both after saving his life and became a true friend and team player.
Team Dynamic: Close-quarters speed and maneuverability, scouting, obstacle demolition

3.
Name/Nickname:
Guppy
Species: Gyarados
Gender: Male
Description: Typical Gyarados appearance, though he tends to have a goofy look on his face most of the time.
Personality: Contrary to this species’s rep, this Gyarados acts more like an over-sized puppy trying to please Sequoia and is the youngest member of her team. He’s a bit of a dim-bulb, but a lovable and affectionate one. He’ll come charging to greet people he likes. (If he doesn’t scare them half to death first) Likes to randomly makes bubbles in the water. However, hurt him or his friends badly enough and the true Gyarados nature comes out.
History: Responding to a distress call at small seaport in Johto, Sequoia arrived at the scene to see a wild Gyarados wrecking boats at the dock. Wearing the Gyarados down with her pokemon, they finally managed to put it to sleep with Blissey’s Sing. Using a pokeflute to awaken it, the Gyarados was now calmer, but very confused and lost. The Gyarados had just endured a difficult evolution, which sent it on its rampage. Sequoia took the Gyarados (now named Guppy) as part of her team to help him manage his new form and abilities.
Team Dynamic: Water Transport, muscle, heavy hitter

4.
Name/Nickname:
Yahto (means blue in Sioux)
Species: Braviary
Gender: Male
Description: A blue shiny Braviary
Personality: The team loner. Yahto is cold and standoffish to most pokemon and all humans, except Sequoia. He’d rather be left alone than have to socialize, even with other pokemon. Even so, he is loyal to his trainer and can be counted on when necessary. Yahto is an extremely adept and swift fighter. He is fearless and will fight to the very end, even when the odds are against him.
History: Yahto was captured from his native mountains in Unova and imported illegally into Kanto to either be used in the Team Rocket organization or sold on the black market. Neglected and malnourished from his imprisonment, the braviary was rescued during a sting operation by a team of Pokemon Rangers. Traumatized by the Rockets’ handling, the braviary acted out against its caretakers at its temporary housing afterwards. Sequoia, an expert with avian pokemon, approached and calmly spoke to braviary for days while bringing its food and treating his wounds. Her patience finally paid off and gained the massive raptor’s tentative trust. Far from home, authorities couldn’t expend the resources to send braviary back to Unova. Instead, braviary was entrusted to Sequoia’s care.
Team Dynamics: Aerial support and transport lift. Recon.

5.
Name/Nickname:
Vulcana
Species: Arcanine
Gender: Female
Description: An older Arcanine, her muzzle is grey and her coat scruffy. A bare patch in her coat is on her rear right flank is barely visible from an old gunshot wound.
Personality: An unflappable seasoned veteran. Vulcana is calm in every situation. She’s always on her guard for trouble and very serious about her job, no matter who is partnered with. She’s highly reliable and watches out for the younger members on her team. While Vulcana has a no-nonsense mindset, she is a patient mentor.
History: Vulcana was the long-time pokemon partner of Pokemon Ranger, Quinten Redwood. On what should have been a normal patrol investigating rumors of strange activity at an abandoned mining operating in the western Kanto Mountains. Arriving at the site, the two partners discovered a small Team Rocket Base of Operations. Quinten radioed in for backup, but the two were discovered by Rocket Agents agents and massive fight broke out. The Ranger and Arcanine were successively holding their own, when two consecutive shots rang through the air bringing an abrupt halt to the battle. A Rocket Sniper took down the pair from a hidden spot the Mining Office Roof. The Rockets abandoned the base, leaving the two for dead. Back up arrived soon after, but too late. Quinten had already passed on. Vulcana was alive, but badly wounded. Treated at a nearby Emergency Pokemon Hospital at Indigo Plateau, Vulcana was claimed by a Quinten’s 21-year-old and devastated daughter, Sequoia. After a long recovery and much physical therapy, Vulcana joined Sequoia’s team as Quinten’s daughter chose to follow in her father’s footsteps and become part of a Pokemon Ranger Special Response team.
Team Dynamic: Ground support and transport, tracking, long distance endurance, advisor

6.
Name/Nickname:
Mayday
Species: Blissey
Gender: Female
Description: Typical Blissey. Often wears a nurse’s cap.
Personality: A helpful, caring, and compassionate pokemon. Mayday is also built like a tank and Sequoia’s wild card. Mayday is always positive and believes in the power of laughter, even if she ends up doing silly things to get a smile out of someone. She is very close friends with Vulcana.
History: Not much to Mayday’s history, except she worked at the Indigo Plateau Pokemon Hospital as a Chansey. She was present, when a critically wounded Arcanine was airlifted in from the wilderness with gunshot wounds. Mayday was part of the medical team responsible for treating and saving Vulcana. The Chansey was assigned to Vulcana’s care and physically therapy sessions. Mayday became close friends with Vulcana and Sequoia during this time. Mayday was sadden by the events, which Vulcana and Sequoia endured. The chansey took it upon herself to find a way to help pokemon and people sooner than the time it took for patients to come to a hospital. Upon Vulcana’s release from rehab, Mayday requested permission from her Nurse Joy to be relieved of her responsibilities at the hospital to join the two in their new mission. Over time, Mayday would eventually evolve to Blissey.
Team Dynamic: Backup support and medical aid. Trauma counselor.

Tis the Hour to Reload
So... I realize that Cecil would probably fit Pokémon Ranger better now that I remember such a thing exists, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue. Anyways, here are my characters. I hope they're fine, especially Zeta. I wanted to do something a little different in terms of science experiments as I have a feeling that most of them will be genetically modified ones.

Name: Zeta York
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Physical Description: Standing at five foot six with a lean build, Zeta has light brown skin and straight blonde hair that reaches her shoulder blades. She would look relatively normal were it not for all the mechanical parts on her. Her left eye is normal, with a green iris, but her right eye is mechanical, a red dot essentially with grey steel surrounding it. Her right arm is completely mechanical, with all the wires, gears and so on visible, along with both of her legs. Lastly, at the center of her chest is a steel plate with a red, slightly glowing triangle at its center. For attire, it mostly consists of shirts and jeans. But for the most part, she usually sticks to one look. She wears a grey shirt and black pant held up with a white belt. She has grey rubber shoes, a green glove over her right hand, and a maroon trenchcoat. She always wears her wedding ring on her left hand.

Personality: Most people are surprised to learn that despite her appearance and past, Zeta is cheerful and friendly lady. She's more than happy to talk or interact with others. She isn't easy to anger. She often has a smile on her face and is a bit of a joker, usually in the form of puns (very bad ones), though pranks aren't exactly out of the question. The fact that she is looks like a mechanical abomination does little to dent Zeta's cheerfulness. Some might question that it in fact enhances it, but that has yet to be proven.

Zeta has a passion for battles and she gets quite fired up at the chance. It's rare to see her not enjoy one, whether it be with Pokémon or other empowered humans. However, unlike before, she doesn't actively seek out fights anymore. Well, most of the time. She's learned much since meeting her husband. She's compassionate and willing to help others in need, especially fellow empowered humans, though that might be in part to the fact that her husband would easily do that. Speaking of her husband, she is very protective of him and is very close to him. If there's one thing that will get her angry for sure is harming him or even insulting him. Fortunately, this usually doesn't lead to injury. Usually.

Region From: Unova
Region Currently In: Unova, Driftveil City

History: Have you ever wondered if Genesect was Team Plasma's first attempt at mechanically upgrading beings? Well, it wasn't. Genesect was their most advanced and susccessful attempt at it. Zeta was one of the first few. They had made embryos and accelrated their growth, not wanting to risk Pokémon or being found. After all, if they kidnapped anyone, someone was going to notice, but if they started fresh, they would, legally, not exist. She had no name, she was only called "Subject 06".

So when she was only six, they started modifying her. All she remembered from those times was pain. They had replaced her eye, arm and two legs. When they were finished, they had put her through tests to see if her body still functioned with them. They did work, the nanites slowly changing her mechanical parts as she grew. When she was ten, they had decided to see if she can fight. She could and that was when she had developed an appetite for battles, and that was when she got more "unstable".

Because she lived an isolated life so they could know what any causes to any changes to her, all she now cared about was the next fight. Her need to fight became nearly insatiable. Everyday she would demand for another match, having nothing better to do. When they took too long, she would berserk around her chamber. It got to the point where they had to chain her. The thrashing only got worse. But she didn't care, she just wanted to fight. This lasted for four years.

Then one day, during feeding time, the person feeding her got careless and had put his hand a bit too close to her. She bit his hand and when he backed off from the pain had pressed the button that loosed her chains. She broke free and beat the the man until he was unconscious. She caused an uproar in the facility as she fought any and every person she came across. But none of them put up a fight so she just kept going. With her speed, they weren't able to lock down the facility fast enough before she escaped into the wilderness.

For a while, she learned the hard way on how to survive in the wilderness but she also got what she wanted, battles almost every day. She fought whatever Pokémon was strong enough to provide a challenge. If she got injured, she would rest and recover, then she would quickly go back to searching for a fight. This was how she lived for a year. Unknown to her, she had become quite the myth. Many thought it must have been some sort of new vicious Pokémon that was doing it. So eventually the police had to investigate the sudden rise in injured Pokémon.

That was when she met Cecil. She was searching for another target when she saw a Onix. She knew those things were strong but she noticed this one was exceptionally strong, what with the way its skin looked, so she attacked. To her surprise, a human was on it and had noticed her quick enough to have his Onix dodge her strike. What followed was a very frustrated science experiment constantly trying to hit the Onix. Eventually, she did land a hit but before she followed it up, the human yelled, "Wait! Don't attack!"

At first she thought he meant her until she realized she was surrounded with other humans with various Pokémon. She froze. As much as she loved a fight, even she knew that she had made a big mistake. But just as she thought they were going try and chain her or something, the "commander" of the Onix slowly approached her. She knew what that meant. He wanted to be close and meant no harm but he won't if she objected.

Then he said, "Are you okay?"

And that was the start of Subject 06 living in society. She was taken under the care of Cecil, who was the only one she didn't have a bad reaction to. Besides, she had no legal presence and thus nobody would take her in except the orphanage. And it was him who gave her the name Zeta, which she took on with pride. She never knew what happened to the others, but she figured that they were found after she told all she could to the police. Over time, he taught her many things, though that didn't mean she didn't have her fair share of knowledge to teach, as they travelled Unova, though she did have to stay a bit low so any remnants of the group who mqde her won't easily find her. And over time, she fell for the man who first showed her kindness.

After a few years on the road, the two settled in Drifveil as Cecil decided to take up school to apply for search and rescue for the mines and such. This was when she confessed her feelings for him. To say the least, she was happy he reciprocated. It wasn't long until the pair got married. Zeta had decided to study with him seeing as she could be rather helpful in that department. It's been about four years since they graduated and now they're officially part of the local search and rescue.

Class: Scientific Experiment
Ability: As a cyborg, all her mechanical parts let her do things no normal human can. Because she was one of the first few attempts, her mechanical parts aren't as "streamlined" as later ones as they were just trying to get them to work. Though they are made of various wires, metal pieces and so on, they are maintained by nanites, which is how they were able to "grow" as if it was made of flesh by using the iron and minerals in her body.

The nanites all come from the plate on her chest and travel to the mechanical parts in artificial veins added just for them. The plate is where they get the minerals. Because of this, she needs slightly more iron and minerals in her diet. But these nanites are only quick in repairing minor "injuries" to the mechanical parts, like small cuts or holes and most collisions, anything worse will need bed rest and manual repairs if serious enough.

The cyborg parts let her run much faster than any human and let her do incredible feats of strength, but the latter can only be done with her right arm. Her mechanical eye lets her zoom in and she can switch to infared vision, though it is still a bit jarring for her to do either with her normal eye open. It can also wirelessly connect to some terminals and computers if they can wirelessly connect as well, so information can be sent to her and she can see it. All of her mechanical parts are controlled with her mind thanks to a specialized chip implanted in her brain.

She is rather skilled in close quarters combat, though her style is more akin to street fighting and boxing rolled into one. She's also rather good in fighting in synch with any of her husband's Pokémon or her Bisharp. Though it's not one hundred percent, she can usually tell when someone's strong or skilled in fighting. She also knows how to survive in the wild.

Pokemon:
Name/Nickname: Hervor
Species: Bisharp
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: A seemingly stoic fighter like the rest of her kind, it's made clear she isn't when she starts to battle. She is essentially a berserker, her moves hard to predict, full of force and rarely taking the defensive, her battle scars proof of that. She certainly lives up to her namesake. Outside of it, she is brash, headstrong and very, very loud. She won't back down from a challenge, especially a fight. The only exception to that is if either Zeta or Cecil are critically injured. That is when she'll make sure she'll help however she can to get them to safety and medics. Originally caught by Cecil as a Pawniard with no idea what to name her, Cecil decided to give her to Zeta as he noticed she liked her and also to have someone keep an eye on her. The Pokéball she inhabits is a Timer Ball.

Name: Cecil York
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Physical Description: Not a very imposing man, only standing at five foot eight, but he is obviously fit and quite strong. He has light brown skin, straight black hair with a few bangs, and green eyes. His attire is often practical and somewhat protective, consisting of pants, long sleeve shirts and boots, all made of tough and/or thick materials, but he does have a favorite jacket he wears that isn't any of these. His usual get up is a plain black shirt, blue pants, brown boots and a purple jacket with yellow linings. He often carries with him a satchel with supplies, along with some medical ones. He always wears his wedding ring on his right hand.

Personality: A calm and equally approachable man, Cecil seems a bit of your average person. He's friendly, but not overtly so, and he's courteous, but he has a bit of an air of regality to him. Indeed, his poise and demeanor wouldn't be too out of place in a castle or regency. Ironically, despite having an incredible skill in Pokémon battles, he would rather prefer much more calmer and peaceful solutions. If given the choice, he will chose negotiation over a fight.

However, don't be fooled that he is a coward. When push comes to shove, he will bite back. He knows very well not everyone will want the less violent solution and when it's the only choice, or it's been forced into that, he will do his absolute best so that the conflict may end sooner. The less lives are damaged the better. He can be surprisingly stubborn and reckless when this happens, often putting himself at risk over other lives, whether by taking a hit or going into enemy territory. He also often takes a more defensive role when there are other more offensive people.

In the end, he is a kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help. He cares very dearly about his wife, Zeta, and is rather close with her. He's just as protective of her as she is of him. One of the few things that will garner his rage is harming, or even insulting, his wife. Though he won't mind to much if you happen to criticize her jokes. Even he knows they're not that good.

Region From: Unova, Village of Dragons
Region Currently In: Unova, Driftveil City

History: Born to a long line of Dragon Trainers said to be descended from one of descendants of the first Hero of Ideals long ago, Cecil is the youngest of four children and the second son. Since birth, they had been raised with them becoming a Dragon Trainer in mind, with an emphasis in a close bond with their Pokémon. So when Cecil was six, he was given his Dragon Pokémon in the form of a small and young Druddigon. He got along fine with the little tyke, but he just didn't feel the connection that his brother and sisters had with theirs.

That worried Cecil, even though his parents assured him that even if he doesn't have the talent for it, they still loved him. So he tried bettering himself and getting closer to his Druddigon by going into the nearby caves. That was where his Pokémon's kind lived in the wild, so he figured it was worth a shot. It didn't do much until one day he got seperated from his Druddigon by accident. As he tried to find his way out of the caves, he encountered an Onix. The rock snake was curious about him and Cecil asked if it could help him out.

After that, he named the Onix Kenton, the two became fast friends and much closer than he ever did with his Druddigon. That was when Cecil decided to train Steel types, knowing very well the evolved form of his partner. So when he set off for a Pokémon journey at twelve, a little later than most. For the next few years, he trained with Kenton and had caught several Pokémon. Over that time, he had developed a bit of a name for himself as he would often help anyone in danger he passed by. He had also collected four badges and was about to get his fifth when he heard of the rise of injured wild Pokémon near Nimbasa, mostly in Lostlorn Forest.

That was when he met Zeta. He had decided to offer his help to the police, seeing as he had Steel types which had defenses. As they went deep in the forest, with Kenton, then still an Onix, in the lead, he spotted a blur heading towards Kenton. He told him to be evasive. To say the least, he was surprised when he saw the attacker was a human girl about as old as him that was paritally mechanical. He told the police officers to not attack. When he did that, the girl stopped. He slowly approached her and said,

"Are you okay?"

After that, he took her in and had her answer all the questions of the authorities. Apparently, he was the only one she trusted as she kept glaring at the officers whenever left on her own with them. With that, he decided to take her along with him, after giving her legal presence. He named her Zeta when she told him they just called her "Subject 06". She took pride in the name he gave her.

Once again, just like with Kenton, they became fast friends even when they had quite a few misadventures and accidents from him teaching her about society. He made sure to have her keep a low profile as they traveled to keep her safe. As time went on, he began to fell for her and her bravery. But he felt that he couldn't voice it, not when he had no idea if she felt the same. After travelling for a while and managing to evolve his team, he witnessed rescue work during the attack on Opelucid by Team Plasma. So he decided to stay in Driftveil to take up classes to be part of search and rescue.

You could imagine his surprise that when they settled in Driftveil, Zeta decided to enroll also (though that was after some tests proving she will be fine seeing as she never went through basic education) and told him her feelings. They were married not too long after that, after his family saw how happy he was with the cyborg. It's been four years since they graduated and now they're part of the local search and rescue.

Class: Master Trainer
Pokemon:
Name/Nickname: Kenton
Species: Steelix
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Cecil's best friend and oldest partner, Kenton is actually a bit of an airhead. Sure, he's friendly, cheerful and doesn't mind people crawling up on him, but he can be rather...eccentric. It's easy for him to forget things, but surprisingly, if it's something really important, he'll pull through, all the time. Quartz is his favorite rock to eat. Being very large, he's Cecil's main mode of transportation over land as well as carrying anyone they find during search and rescue. He can also Mega Evolve, thanks to a Mega Stone Cecil was gifted from his parents.

Name/Nickname: Vale
Species: Aggron
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Caught as an Aron in the wild, she's Kenton's best Pokémon friend and pretty much his "voice of reason". She's the peacekeeper and smart one of the team, and also a bit of a chaperone to them, making sure they don't do anything rude or stupid. She also likes to think she's an excellence ride, much better than a Rapidash or Gogoat, as such, she also brings and carries anyone they find during search and rescue.

Name/Nickname: Stripes
Species: Excadrill
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: The supposed lazy one, the only reason he is often seen asleep is because, for some reason, he's nocturnal. He can be woken up to fight and do work in the morning, and is surprisingly still as hard working even when drowsy, but he goes right back to sleep once it's. At night, he's like a machine, only focused on work and rarely taking breaks. He got his name from the fact he has a liking to striped things, like the black and white striped collar he wears. He's mostly used for precision and careful digging in search and rescue.

Name/Nickname: Cuddles
Species: Ferrothorn
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Cuddles got his name because he was found trying to hug Vale when she was a Lairon. Of course, that didn't go so well. She trailed the team for a while, never letting up. She eventually ended up on the team when they found that Kenton didn't mind the "hugs" he got from him. That, and he helped them in training. The Ferrothorn really likes his hugs and is pretty much a cuddle bug. Thankfully, after journeying with Cecil and the gang, he realizes he'll hurt most Pokémon if he tries to hug them. Otherwise, he's a friendly dude. He's mostly used for keeping away wild Pokémon from interupting them during search and rescue. After all, who would want to be covered in spikes?

Name/Nickname: Irisviel
Species: Skarmory
Gender: Female
Description and Personality: Irisviel carries the same regal air (no pun intended) Cecil has, her posture straight and alert. She may come off as intimidating, but get past the looks and you'll find a kind and sweet heart who's more than willing to play and have fun. Being the youngest of the group, she can be a bit childish, but she's surprisingly mature for someone so young. For some odd reason, her eyes are red. She's mostly used for reconnaisance or aerial search and rescue. She's also the used for fast transportation of anyone found during search and rescue.

As seen in pokedexes
I don't think I'm 100% satisfied with this but it's late and I'm tired so.

My "speedster" character. If you aren't ok with the powers (or the relation to Rocket), I can retool her as a standard speedster instead, but I thought this was a different take on one.

Also there are more characters coming, this is just the one I have finished now and I wanted to post this one before someone else makes a speedster

Name: Aiden Lorentz, the Blur
Gender: Female
Age: 28

Physical Description: For someone who spent years as a test subject, Aiden really doesn’t look it. She stands at about five feet one inch, shorter than average, but otherwise looks very fit and healthy, if very young for her age. She’s very lean, but not negatively so, and as expected from of years of running and exercise is appropriately muscular particularly in her legs and hips. Also, as expected for the same reason, Aiden very much has a runner’s build. She is not very curvy, with thin hips and small breasts. Her trim waist gives some appearance of a feminine figure, but truthfully given her upbringing, any concerns about her figure are practically the farthest from Aiden’s mind. She has a heart-shaped face, with a mostly sharp features – a small slender nose, thin lips, high cheekbones, and sky-blue almond shaped eyes. Aiden generally keeps her light brown hair in a short pixie cut – mostly to keep it out of her face when running.

In terms of outfits, she’s always put practicality and comfort in front of fashion, having no real reference point of the later for much of her life. Most commonly she will wear some variation of jeans or running pants, a plain t-shirt, and the leather jacket given to her by the Tamsons after one year with them. Regardless, she always has on a sturdy pair of running shoes, as she never knows when she’ll need to put on a burst of speed. By that same logic, she doesn’t like to wear any jewelry or necklaces.

As the Blur, Aiden wears a skintight reinforced tri-polymer bodysuit to shield her from bullets and other weapons as well as extreme temperatures. The suit is mostly black with yellow highlights in the shape of lightning bolts running down her sides. Built into the suit are various sensors that allow her team at Etoile Labs to monitor her vitals when fighting. The last part of her suit is a cowl to cover her face and protect her identity. Built into the cowl on either side are earpieces in the shape of small lightning bolts allowing her to communicate with her team and whoever else is connected to them.

Personality: At a glance, it would be hard to imagine Aiden as having been an experimental subject for much of her adolescence. In the ten years since she freed herself, she’s managed to find if not her old personality, at least a new normal that she is more than content with.

Aiden, due to her experiences, is an introvert. She likes people, but outside of a select few doesn’t really like to be around people for extended periods. Among people she is comfortable with Aiden can be somewhat outgoing, as if compensating for years of keeping to herself and her Ninjask. She’ll crack jokes, tease, and generally be the person she might’ve been once upon a time. Around anyone else, though, Aiden closes off. She remains unfailingly polite and usually is outwardly cheerful, but can come across at times as distant, an unfortunate byproduct of the different types of isolation she’d undergone both forced and self-imposed. Also, while much better now that immediately following her freedom, Aiden can occasionally be socially awkward, missing social cues she just doesn’t know or understand having missed that development growing up.

As the Blur, Aiden has developed a strong sense of morals. While she recognizes that most actions fall on a spectrum of grey, she also has decided upon very hard lines that if crossed are unquestionably bad or evil. Among them are things like unwilling or coerced consent, torture, and murder. The first two particularly are touchy subjects for Aiden, though any of these “black” actions can cause her to get tunnel vision in stopping whoever performed the action.

Due to her experiences with Team Rocket, Aiden does suffer from mild claustrophobia and unease at being forced into doing things, regardless of her agreement or not. Also, while usually outwardly happy, or at least content, bringing up Team Rocket can bring up the rage that Aiden bottled away but never really dealt with.

Region From: Johto, Goldenrod City
Region Currently In: Kalos, Lumiose City

History: Aiden Lorentz doesn’t actually remember much about her life before Rocket. She can remember some details – her name, for instance, or the fact that she grew up in a suburb of Goldenrod City. She has also been able to learn others, from records and photographs, but mostly her past is full of holes. What she has been able to put together is this.

Aiden was born in Goldenrod City to Henry and Morgan Lorentz, both scientists – one a physicist studying relativity and time, the other a geneticist studying the differences in human and Pokémon DNA. By all records, she had a happy childhood, at least until everything went to hell. When she was nine Team Rocket kidnapped her parents for their research and expertise. Aiden was lucky enough to be at home with them at the time and ended up taken as well. At a prime age for testing, she became a subject for Rocket experiments, specifically an early attempt at giving humans the ability to manipulate time much like Celebi. After that the next several years blur together into a muddle of tests and pain and procedures. While never succeeding in their main goals, the project did achieve some measure of success in giving Aiden the ability to minorly manipulate time. Eventually, either Aiden became coherent enough to make a good plan or the scientists in charge of her grew lax enough or everything just coincided to perfection, Aiden – at this point roughly seventeen with a swiss chess memory and full of rage at her makers – managed to escape from her containment and used her powers to destroy everything in the labs. She booked it out of there and never looked back.

Now a free woman, Aiden spent the next few years travelling – finding herself again while staying out of Team Rocket’s way. She began in Goldenrod, researching her past as best she could. She left as soon as possible though, her old hometown no longer feeling like any sort of home. She may have had her freedom, but without a purpose Aiden failed to see what she could do with it. Her parents had died, at some point during her capture – she had uncovered that much during her investigations. A part of Aiden wanted to avenge them – and her own suffering – by tearing Rocket apart piece by piece, but a larger part just wanted to get away from them. So, from Goldenrod Aiden headed to Olivine, using her powers to stowaway on a ship to Hoenn and away from Rocket influence. In Hoenn, Aiden spent a good year-and-a half aimlessly wandering from town to town, doing odd jobs for money. While she could have used her powers to steal to survive – and did occasionally, if necessary – Aiden both didn’t want to draw too much attention to herself and just didn’t feel comfortable with thievery.

Two good things came from her wandering, at least. For one, Aiden was able to use the time to relearn her sense of self – her likes and dislikes, what makes her tick, what makes her laugh, etc. The other was her meeting her partner Pokémon, Hanzo the Ninjask, during her walk from Verdanturf to Rustboro. When her time in Hoenn drew to a close, Aiden moved onto the next region, hitching a ride to Sinnoh. Still lacking any sort of purpose, Aiden continued to live this way for a few more years, going region to region until she finally ended up in Kalos during her mid-twenties.

Her experiences in Kalos would start of a new chapter of her life, of her finally finding a purpose in life. At the time, Aiden had been in Lumiose, working for an older couple in their shop for spare change. The shop had been empty over the noon hour so Aiden and one of the owners, Charisse Tamson, were killing time at the register counter, when two men slipped into the store. They proved to be thugs wanting to rob the place when they pulled guns, demanding the money in the register and everything on them. In that moment, seeing guns pointed on her and the women who’d been kind to her, Aiden didn’t hesitate and used her powers to disarm the men and knock them unconscious in seconds. With the attention of Clarisse now on her, Aiden panicked and bolted away.

Returning to where she was staying, Aiden gathered her things quickly to flee from Lumiose, but before she could she was interrupted by Clarisse’s husband, Alex, at her door. He told her that he wouldn’t stop her if she really wanted to leave, but that both he and Clarisse were grateful towards her. He said they might not know exactly who or what she is, but she saved Clarisse life without a second thought, so she’d always be welcome to them. When Aiden didn’t respond, Alex slid a card under the door for a lab to the north of Lumiose. He told her that even if she didn’t stay, his son was the scientist who owned the lab on the card, and if she ever needed help with her powers, or whatever she had done, they would make sure their son would see her. Alex Tamson left on that thought, and Aiden spent most of the night thinking.

The next morning, she showed up for work right on time. Later that day she met Matthew Tamson, owner and chief scientist of Etoile Labs, and for the first time told her story. She was accepted into the lab almost immediately, with varying degrees of amazement and marvel, and soon found herself having genuine friends. It was prodding from these friends – Melanie and Phoebe Tamson, twin sisters and younger cousins of Matthew, in particular – that caused Aiden to consider using her powers to help people as she’d helped the elder Tamsons. Matthew fully supported this idea, and, with backing from Etoile Labs, Aiden soon began to fight crime in Lumiose. Dubbed “the blur” by media, due to anyone only every seeing her as a blur in motion, Aiden soon officially took the moniker for herself with Hanzo acting as her Ninjask sidekick, Speedy.

Class: Scientific Experiment
Ability: Due to the experiments preformed on Aiden by Team Rocket, Aiden has the ability of chronokinesis – in other words, the ability to manipulate time. Unfortunately for Team Rocket, the experiments were in terms of their original purpose a failure. Aiden cannot jump forward through time or travel backwards in time, nor can she really in any way completely disrupt or interrupt time causing it to pause or completely stop. Instead her chronokinetic abilities extend only to manipulating the speed of time, specifically the speed of time going forwards. By thought she can alter time around herself to speed up or slow down, allowing her to go faster or alternatively slower in relative time to everyone else, giving the appearance of super-speed or super-sluggishness. The exact radius she can extend her control over is unknown to her and Aiden doesn’t really want to find out; all she really knows is that controlling a space larger than one person’s width away from her for a length of time is incredibly taxing. Similarly, Aiden has not fully explored how fast she can speed up or how slow she can slow down time, nor how long she can keep the effect up. Her current best is speeding up time to where from an outside perspective she was moving faster than the speed of sound, though the effort left her unconscious for several days when she stopped, which is a large factor in why she hasn’t tried to learn more about her limits.

In addition to her chronokinetic powers, the experiments on Aiden altered her physiology slightly. While none of the alterations were to absolute extremes, Aiden is more durable, stronger, and faster than a baseline human. Her mental capacity was similarly enhanced, giving her better abilities of perception and reasoning. The biggest alteration, however, was to her ability to age. Aiden physically ages and a slower rate than other humans, slow enough that at almost thirty she still looks like she barely turned twenty.

Most commonly Aiden uses her powers to quicken the time immediately surrounding her giving her “super-speed.” Given she is not actually moving at super-speeds but is instead simulating the effect, she doesn’t encounter the problems that would normally effect someone moving at high speeds like air friction or the required calories for such an increased metabolism. On the other hand, since she isn’t moving at high velocities, she can’t do things like run on vertical surfaces or across water. Also, given her stamina is only as slightly super-human as her other physical measures, she is still limited in how far she could move without need of rest or food in a single instance of chrono-manipulation. In extremis, she could feasibly run up to 300 miles in a couple of hours from an outside perspective, though from hers that would-be days of running while using her powers – in other words, a very large undertaking. To put it mildly, her “speed” is very useful in short distances or small areas but less so in the long haul.

Following her decision to become the Blur, Aiden with help from the Etoile Labs crew began to train herself. While she still hasn’t attempted to find her limits, for fear of being out of commission, Aiden has mastered her control over turning her “speed” on and off at the drop of a hat and can keep her “speed” up for several hours constantly without strain when not close to her current limits. She also has become skilled at fighting, mostly boxing and some martial arts, through her couple of years of experiences. While not a master fighter by any means, she can hold her own easily especially when using her “speed.”

Pokémon:
Name/Nickname: Hanzo, aka Speedy
Species: Ninjask
Gender: Male
Description and Personality: Hanzo, as almost expected from a Ninjask, is very lively and energetic. The perfect companion for a “speedster” like Aiden, Hanzo loves going fast and can keep up with her even when she’s speeding up time. Having lived only in forests up until meeting Aiden, Hanzo is still somewhat unaccustomed to city life, though years of travel with Aiden have made him slightly better at this. Aiden met him when travelling from Verdanturf to Rustboro. Newly evolved and still quite young by Ninjask standards, Hanzo for all intents and purposes imprinted on Aiden, who he viewed as a very large and strange Ninjask. He views her not quite as a mother, but more as a leader and role model, causing him to copy many aspects of her personality like her initial distrust of strangers and her sense of morals.

As Speedy, the Blur’s sidekick, Hanzo wears a small black-and-yellow mask (mostly for his benefit, helps more as a confidence aid than any concealment of his identity). Built into the mask is a small com-link that lets the Blur communicate instructions to Speedy.
