Pokemon Tournaments

I was wondering if it would be possible to setup seperate forums for zones of the United States (i.e. Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, etc.) to post tournaments in, or for people to meet others to play pokemon together (The Fighting Game community is setup in this way, and there are usually multiple groups of people per state that play fighters every week, and tournaments are posted there as well). I ask this question because i recently started working at a comic book store, and I had 5 different people come in within 3 hours of each other and ask if we held local pokemon tournaments. I've always wanted to do this, and with the release of Diamond and Pearl, it would become much easier (no more link cable mess, or forcing people to have the wireless link).

With organization with Serebii, which is without a doubt the biggest pokemon forum on the net, I think this idea could be executed flawlessly. The Smash Bros. community did it, the Tekken and Street Fighter communities did it, so how about Pokemon?

I recently posted this in the Serebii suggestion thread. I'd like to get help with the members of the pokemon community to start organizing pokemon tournaments throughout the United States. When Diamond and Pearl become available, this plan could be executed flawlessly. So what does everyone think?
