:609: Hmph. A challenge, I see...
1 - Moon
"Are...are you kidding me?"
I sighed when I looked around at the barren landscape around me. There was nothing but gray dust on the moon, along with the occasional craters. The sky was a canvas painted black, with the familiar star and planet - the Sun and the Earth - on either side. No doubt, I was on the moon. Perhaps I could find something of interest here, I thought to myself as I slowly floated along. Zero gravity was not helping me here, as I was always so close to floating too far from the ground and into the void of space. There was a strange colony of moon rabbits in the distance, but I decided not to inspect that for now.
Instead, I looked at a Lunatone, which was peacefully meditating. "Um, hello?" I tried to ask it, but it didn't seem to hear. Suddenly, it began to glow white. This wasn't a good sign. "Oh, no!" I mumbled. I was about to set up a Protect when it used Psychic on me. Considering that it had been using Calm Mind or Meditate before that, this was very painful. I was sent into space, and back to Earth, where I began to plummet to my doom...or so it seemed...
2 - Red Sea
From my increasingly blurry vision, I could infer that I had fallen into the sea. Whichever sea it was, I was not sure, but it didn't matter. I was a Fire-type, making me more susceptible to water, and since I couldn't see any land, it looked like this was the end for me. I tried swimming to the top, but only caught a glimpse of water, water, and more water before I sank back down. I couldn't gather how I was launched here... I gasped for air, but all that came in was extremely salty - and life-threatening - water. I saw water all around me, and several Water-type Pokemon were beginnng to come close. "Argh!" I choked out, aggravated. "I...can't breathe...!"
I thought that there was a Pokemon from afar swimming closer to me, but I couldn't tell. By this time my vision wasn't even blurry- just pitch black. It felt like the flames on my hands and head were already gone, and my consciousness faded, allowing me to perish there. The last thing I remember was something picking me up and carrying me away...
3 - Beach in China -----> Great Wall Of China
"Urgh...Where...where's this?"
When I opened my eyes, there was a Castform and a Corsola standing over me, looking worried. I didn't know either of them - were they the ones who had rescued me? I shivered- I was still wet, and though my flames had already come back, I still felt quite cold. Below me, I felt sand. "Oh! Are you all right?" asked the Corsola.
I got up, shaking some of the water off of my body. "I suppose so," I replied. "I'm not sure how to make heads or tails of this place, though."
"We made a slight miscalculation with our friend, and we were teleported to this beach," said the Castform. This one looked quite familiar, I noted. "Anyways! They should be coming soon to teleport you to the Great Wall."
...Wait, what?
I'd never been this confused; then again, my mind could have been drenched like the rest of my body. "The Great Wall?" I asked, incredulous. "But why?"
"Your challenge, Candeli," Castform informed. Just then I remembered who in the world this peculiar Castform was.
"You...you're Celeste, aren't you?" I asked her. No doubt she was familiar; she had earned third in this show last year. And she most likely knew me from those shows they were broadcasting, but...this seemed strange for some reason. Celeste nodded solemnly.
"Oh! There he is!" Corsola exclaimed. It was an Abra.
"Ah, the escort," said the Abra. This one was unnaturally fancy, it seems. "Come." Celeste smiled at me, somehow giving off a look saying, "Good luck!" as we teleported away.
The Great Wall, on the other hand, was nothing new to me. I had traveled here before, and knew the way. As I floated along, I looked at the vast landscape of rice fields and mountains. But this place seemed off, too. After a while, I saw three male Nidoran blocking the way to the next half of the path. "What's this? A Chandelure?" said one of them. "Ahahaha! That seems like a worthy opponent!" I was clearly not in the mood, but the three foolish pranksters - or whatever they were- weren't going to let me pass without a fight.
4 - Battle with three Nidorans (on the Great Wall)
The first male Nidoran lunged at me, and I countered with a Psychic attack. That seemed to send it flying, but the clueless Pokemon, in a rage, got back up and tried to attack me again. To my surprise, it landed a hit! The Nidoran's Poison Sting effect was coming in and I felt ten times more tired and ill than before. Poisoned! "Ahahaha!" another Nidoran cackled. "This is a pushover!"
I was now very annoyed. Very, VERY annoyed. I got up, keeping one hand to my side because of the poison, and sent a Flame Burst towards the middle Nidoran. This made it stop laughing, and it burned all three. Not wanting to let up at all, I used Psychic on them, repeatedly bashing them into the wall. By this point all three were extremely injured, so I stopped. Sure, I was mad, but I couldn't just kill them...But I did leave them there. Serves them right.
At the end of the wall, the Abra was there again. "Your next destination awaits," he said courteously. After healing me, we teleported away.
5 - Battle with a Dragonite at Buckingham Palace
Ah, Buckingham Palace. I felt somewhat welcome here - perhaps it was because of the chandelier design. But of course, all of them were normal; I was clearly out of the ordinary here. I put on a fake accent, telling the accompanying Abra, "Why, this place is marvelous!" The Abra nodded, as if the compliment was nothing new to him.
"Yes, quite," he muttered, and floated on. I followed him to a large door, where he knocked on it. "Your Majesty," he exclaimed, "you have a challenger." A challenger? I smirked, still having confidence from defeating those three Nidoran while poisoned. The door opened...and a Dragonite on a throne was on the other side. Well, darn. That didn't look like a pushover.
The Abra nodded, leading me into the room before teleporting away. "So, you're my challenger!" the Dragonite exclaimed. I nodded. Whatever it was going to do, I felt ready for it. "Well! A silent one, eh? Let's begin." He began the match with a Dragon Claw, which I cleverly floated away from. I countered with a Shadow Ball, sending it into the wall. About half of the fight was us bouncing in between these two attacks, with the occasional Surf or Hex. Finally, the Dragonite had had enough.
"That's it! DRACO METEOR!" he screamed, and I tried to dodge all the incoming meteors before going right in front of it. I was hit once, but I got back up quickly. When I got right in front of him, I began to wave the flames on my arms. Bingo. The Dragonite stopped attacking, and looked more as if it were hypnotized. Now's my chance! I thought. "Inferno!"
And that was that. The fiery attack sent him flying, and he could no longer battle. "...Excellent," it finally said. "You are quite the opponent. Your fighting style is marvelous." I smirked, and left the palace feeling confident since I had gotten a compliment from a king.
