Pokemon using Surf and Fly Outside Battle

I was thinking if in Diamond and pearl if the pokemon that are using Surf or Fly will resemble the actual pokemon for example: When you use Surf in the water it looks like a wailmer regardless of what pokemon you are using. Also when you use fly it looks like a latios or latias something like that Feel free to discuss about the subject.

Beat me to it. Although they should and it would be a good minor improvement they didn't.

well is it worth using the momery for a dance contest? and dressing up your pokemon?

they could at least make it so when you surf/fly with a starter or legendary pokemon that you actually see that, instead of 1 sprite for all.

Extra Gameplay=/=Unneeded gimics.

Thus the dressing up part actually is extra gameplay, not an unneeded gimic. Unless it actually effects the game in terms of gameplay in anyway, it is a gimic.

It wouldn't work out. Pokemon obviously doesn't make sense, but how are they going to explain flying on a Wingull? Or surfing on a Lotad? I like the idea just as much as the rest of you, but I can't see it happening.
