Pokemon: World Circuit
Note: This RPG is set roughly 10 years after Ash began his journey in the anime series.
It is a golden age of pokemon training. Nearly every day, at least one person becomes a brand new pokemon trainer, receiving their first pokemon and setting off to compete in the Pokemon Leagues. Trainers now have fewer perils to fear, with the final defeat of Team Rocket by the infamous pokemon master, Ash Ketchum, making the world of pokemon safer for humans and pokemon alike.
In this time of peace, the Pokemon League President, Mr Goodshow, has announced a new format for the League Championships. In the past, trainers have only been able to become a regional champion, due to the fact that each League is essentially a stand-alone tournament. However, this is due to change - the individual Leagues shall remain as they are, but the top 16 trainers who consistently perform well shall be seeded into one final tournament: the World Finals, so that a World Champion may finally be crowned.
In the small village known as Pallet Town, Professors Oak, Elm and Birch await nine new trainers, each ready to hand over one of the infamous starter pokemon: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle from Kanto, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile from Johto and Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip from Hoenn.
However, even as the new World Circuit Championship gets underway, a new evil force rears its head - a team dedicated to the capture and controlling of each and every Legendary pokemon, starting with the Bird, Dog and Regi trios. When these pokemon are brought under the power of this new evil army, their combined power shall be enough to utterly destroy the pokemon world.
Foreseeing the plot of these villains, the remaining Legendaries have hidden themselves from the world, perhaps never to be seen again. However, the nine Chosen Legendaries have split up to search the pokemon world for their True Partners, the only trainers in the world capable of controlling their powers.
Will you be one of the nine trainers destined to be entrusted with the fate of the world? Will you take up your Pokeballs, your Pokedex and your partner pokemon, and go forth to protect the planet? Do you have the courage to take responsibility for the outcome of the coming battle, with the lives of countless thousands, human and pokemon, on the line?
Even the actions of one person can make all the difference.

Okay, welcome to my first ever RPG! In this, you take the part of a new trainer just setting off on his or her adventure with your first pokemon, simultaneously aiming to become the World Champion and fending off the attentions of the new evil force threatening the planet.
In addition, each participant (nine in total) shall receive ONE Legendary pokemon, from the Bird, Dog or Regi trios. This partner may not battle in day-to-day, friendly matches or Gym battles (that would be unfair!), but shall most often take a humanoid form (still obviously the pokemon but in a bipedal form), who dispenses advice to his/her partner and fights when needed (usually against the villains). The Legendaries can talk (through telekinesis, special abilities when in “human” form, etc), but this is an exception. All other pokemon do not talk, other than in their natural tongues (e.g. Pikachu will still say “Pikachu”). In addition, due to their impartial natures during most battles, the Legendaries do not count towards a trainer’s 6-pokemon limit.
I shall allow more than one starter pokemon to be captured later in the adventure (e.g., you start with Charmander and then catch a Chikorita), up to a maximum of 3 (your starter plus two others). This shall be done strictly (to avoid everyone getting a Charizard/Blastoise/whatever), so again it shall be first-come, first serve to anyone wanting extra starters - only a maximum of 3 trainers (including the one who originally chose it) may have each starter.
When you want to begin catching pokemon, PM me a list of the pokemon you want to catch during the Kanto leg of the World Circuit (max 10). I will then let you know when and where you can catch the respective pokemon. However, something I have noticed in other RPGs is that some characters seem to catch pokemon in their first post, which seems to take a lot of the spotlight off of their first pokemon. Therefore, I would prefer it if characters in this RPG waited at least two or three posts before catching something, giving them time to bond with their first pokemon before starting to spread their love to others.
When you post your signup sheet, I shall reply in one of the following ways:
• Accepted - welcome to the RPG! You are officially added and your chosen pokemon claimed.
• Conditional acceptance - your signup is good, but could use some tweaking first before a complete acceptance. Note that if you are conditionally accepted, your chosen pokemon can still be claimed by other members.
• Refused - your signup just wasn’t good enough for the RPG. Feel free to try again, though.

Here’s my signup:
Name: Andrew Cattanach
Age: 16
Description: Andrew stands at average height, his muscular and handsome figure attracting great attention from the girls in Pallet Town. He has spiky light brown hair and green eyes, with a pale scar running down his left cheek, the result of an accident during youth. Andrew is most commonly seen wearing a bright red jacket over a pale blue top and jeans, with a red cap on his head to shield his eyes from the sun. His Pokedex rests in the upper left pocket of his jacket, and his Pokeballs slot into his belt. He also wears tan-coloured boots with navy blue soles and straps, which are well suited to running.
Personality: Andrew has become a bright and cheerful young man with a thirst for life and an overwhelming curiosity, which often gets him into trouble - curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, the Cattanach. He is a true and loyal friend, not one to run when his friends are in danger, and is able to get on well with almost anybody. Though not a leader, Andrew has often been looked up to by the other children in Pallet Town during his childhood, and feels a great responsibility to both live up to their expectations and look after the younger trainers also beginning their journey. Despite the extra attention from many of the local girls, Andrew is still waiting to find the girl who is right for him, unwilling to use his looks to just get any old girl - he wants to wait for someone special.
Starter Pokemon: 1st choice: Squirtle, 2nd choice: Torchic*
Legendary Pokemon: 1st choice: Moltres, 2nd choice: Entei*
*please note that the 2nd choices above are only to show what your signup should look like - I have claimed Squirtle and Moltres!
