pokemon you've never trained...

over the years of playing the games, has there ever been pokemon that you've NEVER trained for real battling before? Even though everyone else and their grandmother had? (and please, only list pokemon that are commonly used for competitive play, not obvious weaklings like Magikarp. and put down your reasons on why you've never used them.)

Nidoqueen and Nidoking: it's kind of odd how I've never gotten around to training these guys, usually I'd capture a male and female Nidoran near the begining of the game, but they'll be put into a box and stay there for all eternity. Usually, it wouldn't be until I got to the Safari Zone that I'll capture and Nidorina and a Nidorino and evolve them as soon as I got out of there.

Abra line: I never liked the abra line much... first of, when I first got by blue game, I thought it was a once-of pokemon because the page in the game manual that explained about them had a pic of Abra. Needless to say, the first I'm I encountered an abra it teleported and I thought it was gone forever. I gave up trying to get Abra and got a Drowzee instead. I also decided to use pokemon that my game rival wasn't using. He chose Alakazam, I used Hypno. When GSC arrived, the rival used Alakazam again, I didn't bother going to get alakazam again and used Xatu. In RS, I caught a Ralts, and it rarely ever failed me. It wasn't until then I discovered it's horrid defenses... plus it's design doesn't look right compared to the other psychic pokemon I've used over the years, even Espeon from the eeveelutions (who I never really used until Colosseum) is better. Plus I didn't have anyone to trade with to get an Alakazam.

Machop line: This was a case of procrastination. I've always wanted to train a Machamp, but never got the chance to because I would already have chosen 6 other pokemon for my team and Machop would be left to collect dust :(

Ghastly line: I wasn't a big fan of ghost types before... It wasn't until Colosseum that I saw their usefulness. This type I actually do plan on training a Gengar this time around. ;)

Starmie: I've actually never used a starmie before, even though everyone else had because it has great stats, maybe because I don't usually use genderless pokemon :\. I'll use one eventually.

I'll add more when I think of them.

Tyranitar- I don't like having overpowered goliaths on my team. It was also kind of ugly in my opinion.
Salamence- After I beat the Elite four, I really never had any desire to run around training a bagon for 10 hours. I would much rather restart my game and begin the adventure all over again.
Metagross- Man this thing looks pretty stupid, Once again, I dont like that "huge hulking look"
That's about all for now.

^Metagross are actually pretty reliable once you train a Beldum/Metang.
Um... Tauros, Miltank, Mawile, and many others that aren't used that often.

Starmie is the main one I haven't trained. Probably because I never saw their usefulness until recently and, even if I did, Staryu appear pretty late into the game and by then I would already have had my main team filled.

Slaking is another...I caught a Slakoth once at the beginning of the game and found it mega annoying to train because of Truant, to make matters worse it doesn't exactly know many attacks at that stage.

Blissey is another, I just for some reason have never had the time to evolve a Chansey (although it shouldn't be too hard), and Chansey I don't train often either.

Others include Mawile, Tauros, and Skitty among others.

I never really trained Ditto... Mainly because he only knew one move, transform, and I dunno... When ever I send out Ditto. .It just gets killed 0_O;;

I've probably trained about 95% of Kanto/Johto Pokémon in my Blue/Silver, though I only did so because I wanted to train everything I could initially while playing Blue, and this continued on after I'd beaten Silver. Even stuff I didn't like I raised, simply for the heck of it. Though because it was just for the heck of it, I don't think it counts seeing as I wasn't raising them to be a part of my team or anything. *Shrugs* Whatever.

I've long since abandoned that though(too boring) so what I've trained in Ruby is a heck of a lot more restrained. Things off of the top of my head that I've never touched include:

Metagross: Only time I've ever used this was to purify the one from Colloseum and that doesn't count as training as it basically went: battle, battle, etc>purify>trade>rot in box. I actually think it looks pretty decent, but I've never been bothered enough to actually go through the trouble of training one up.

Slaking: Slakoth's Truant stopped me from ever raising one (I've never even managed to get a Vigoroth). Not to mention, it's ugly as hell, so I'm not even going to try.

Milotic: Never even got one. I had a Feebas in my old file, but never got round to evolving it, and I have no idea where my tiles are now since I reset. If I could get one, I might raise it, though, as I do actually like Milotic.

Regi's: Never felt the need. Incase it's not obvious, I generally base what I raise on looks and all three just seem too plain.

Groudon: One of the reasons I got Ruby but have never trained it. I don't actually know why: not one of my favourites, probably.

There are no doubt plenty of others, including those from Kanto and Johto that I've never raised with the intention of actually using as opposed to raising for the heck of it (Starmie, Blissey, etc).

I havn't trained many non-evos, but I'm not sure why. I usually catch my PKMN at the beginning of the game so those usuallly evolve. Maybe it's because I like the feeling when my PKMN evolve. :p

Just me
To be honest, I've trained almost all.

I've trained every Pokémon that was on Yellow; it was just the way I went around doing things. I'm one of few people who trained Seaking and knew that Waterfall existed in R/B/Y. In my Gold, I also evolved every Pokémon I caught (and never caught the evolved form).

Then in Emerald now, I'm training every Pokémon I catch, so there are pretty darn many I'm crossing off the list there. Off the top of my head, the few Pokémon I've never trained at all are mainly Johto standalones, although when I think about it, I've of course trained a lot of those in Colosseum.

Only Pokémon I can think of right now that I've never trained is Corsola, which I'll be starting to train on Emerald very soon.

Ditto i think is the only one, i hate not training all my pokemon (balanced between the games), i actually feel sorry for them ... yes i know they are not real ...but Ditto just transforms and its frustrating to train. I will catch one and store it on p.c ... or leave it in daycare so it receives some attention or used for breeding.

Unown, Venonat, Ledyba, Hitmonlee, Jynx, Mankey, uhh... Qwilfish?

There are lots of Pokemon I've never trained, and that's just becuase usually once I beat the E4 I don't really have much motivation to go hunting and raising Pokemon. I get most of my enjoyment out of developing teams as I go. And stuff.
