Porn ruined my life as well. When I was 13 I couldn't stop watching and jeking off to porn, and I became adicted to it. As I've said before, it's because sexual education is such a touchy (pun not intended) topic with parents. It's why you need to get a parent or guardian's signature before you take the class and why the teachers are ridiculously restricted from teaching all but a very basic curriculum.

Which totally sucks, but then again, parents are stupid with this sort of thing. What would you prefer? Your kid not knowing how to prevent the dangerous outcomes of sex (not just with scare tactics, I mean giving them actual preventative knowledge), or your kid understanding how sex works and being able to keep it from ruining their lives?

I mean, seriously? You either want your kid educated or you want them sheltered. Half-assed doesn't cut it.

To me, that's all the acting's fault.

Some porn has really... bad acting. The cries aren't timed well or they're too intense for what's currently being done. Or, even worse, the cries are obnoxious (really high-pitched and loud on a guy, or too frequently forceful on a girl). All of that is just signs of bad acting and makes me want to stop watching.

But the moans are actually supposed to make the porn better for the viewer, I think. A lot of people find it exciting if they hear moans of pleasure from the gender(s) they're attracted to. I'm not sure why, but that's just kind of how it is for some.

That depends on the country in which you reside, and since I know from another topic that you don't live in the same country as I do, that this conversation would not be productive.

Suffice it to say, if you don't know what is and what is not against the law where you live (and not just in regards to pornography), then it's time you found out.

I've always thought any westerners that watch it would have to be a bit sad to watch it (but that's just my opinion). I think the reason why it exists in the first place is because Japan has banned people who live there from seeing porn with real people.

It's based on current interpretations of Article 175 of the Criminal Code of Japan, which forbids the publication of indecent materials, which is, from what I've read, usually the genitalia (including pubic hair, but there have been cases where pubic hair has been published uncensored, so). You're not allowed to sell things with uncensored images of genitalia, or own a website that hosts uncensored images of genitalia. So it's censored because they still want to show sex, but they aren't allowed to show genitals. This is also why there's tentacle-based pornography is popular.

Good to know the specifics, actually...

... though I still find it odd that there was no 'intervention' against tentacles or something like that. I could probably ask for a reasoning behind this, but it's probably stupidly simple.

Well child porn is illegal, but all the rest are legal, depending if you're the same age as the guideline suggests. But that's just a formality, I think.
