My sexual education was horrible... Honestly we barely even got a talk about sex until 8th grade. 4-7 all they did was talk about how we were gonna change... then 8th grade all of a sudden it was all the talked about was not having sex or bad things would happen (reminds me of a Family Guy episode :p) I don't think porn is bad, either, to an extent. Teens will be teens, whether its finding their parents mags, to finding it on the internet. More and more people, that are younger even, are discovering it, and experimenting with it too... in both good ways and bad.

I don't believe porn is bad. I just think its taboo to look it up on the internet. It can be full of malware, spyware, and viruses. Plus, you could accidentally stumble upon Child pornography and with most internet providers tracking users,That can never end well.

Porn ruins lives actually, People get problems during the age 14 to 16 years. some get into a lot of bad habits during those years and after. Porn messed up many minds and i guess..ruined me or scared me to make big mistakes and stunted my growth mentally and emotionally in a way. People get a really bad porn addiction and become virgin sex addicts. Bad stuff, still affects people till this day. I try to stop watching it but at times i can't help it. I'm in my early 20's now..smh. I'm a guy, naked girls rock! Can you blame me?

Seriously, though, technology, mass mobile communication, popular music and the Internet have all drastically changed our society and how we behave within it. Our society as a whole is becoming more sexualized; which isn't necessarily a bad thing, the reason kids get so screwed up is because sex is "shameful and dirty", but it does also create some trouble.

I must disagree. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, you're right, but I think it's quite cold of you to look at this societal change from a distance and act as if it's inevitable without considering the here and now people it is affecting. There are real children getting into trouble out there because of the unhampered opportunies that technology gives them. You remember what you feel right after puberty for the rest of your life. Being a tutor I know kids who are going to remember how they felt when they first looked up beatial porn on YouTube, or girls who remember how they felt when they first fell in love with someone asking for nude pics of them via texting.

Change doesn't come at no cost. An entire generation gets caught in the crosshairs. I hate when people act like "change isn't always bad" because most of the time they use that to assume change is always good. If you stand by and let everything happen in the name of change, that can be tantamount to neglect.

And, that makes no sense, saying that every sexual consequence is because of the stigma connected to sex. That's like saying the only cure for porn is more porn. Also, so what if it's all because of the stigma connected to sex? The stigma connected to sex exists and it's strong. You can't just bask in unhampered sexuality and look over at people who are in conflict saying, "Oh, they should have changed their beliefs faster to accomodate to modern times."

Backwards thinking?
I won't comment on the age thing, because I have no kids and I'm of legal age, so I can't make a sound decision on that.

In my personal opinion, there's absolutely nothing wrong with legal pornograpic material. It's a great masturbatory aid and it's a great enhancement for a couple's love life. I can attest on both accounts, and I know I'm not alone for either one. As for being addicted to porn, I don't really see how one can be addicted to porn, and not be addicted to the obvious related activities, implying that porn itself isn't really the root of the issue.

As for the whole fetish thing, there's nothing wrong with having a fetish, again, provided that it stays within the realm of what is legal. In addition to that, if the fetish involves another person, then as long as the other person consents to it as well, there's nothing wrong about it. Personally, I'm a sadomasochist, but I also make sure my partner is completely okay with it before I even attempt to indulge that fetish. I won't get into any details, suffice it to say, a safeword is always known and agreed upon prior to anything else.

In the end, it all comes down to safely, and more importantly legally, indulging your desires. But then again, that same logic can be applied to most anything in life, be it gambling, alcohol, or whatever else.

I think that the whole sex-scene is a lot more public now than it used to be, the majority of this though, is down to the media. The whole thing is a lot more open with our generation it seems, and as such, younger people are getting involved with it at an earlier age (typically, earlier than are ready).

I don't know about everyone here, but the teenage pregnancy rate in the UK has shot up over recent years, and I bet there are a lot of single parents out there, who have no idea who their child's father is. This isn't so much the media at fault, it's people that go out (to clubs and pubs, which weren't so open back in older days), shag about, get pregnant, and find themselves claiming benefits (which the rest of us work for).

Funny old world. And the real sad thing is the government don't seem to be sorting this little problem out.

Why is this funny?

Schadenfreude, perhaps?

At any rate, porn is something that really never caught my interest. I don't really care all that much for watching two people have obviously fake sex in front of a camera. Unless it involves lesbians, because that's hot no matter what. Well, unless there's something generally found disgusting, like scat, or a scene from The Human Centipede. Seriously, that would be messed up, like pedophilia, which reminds me of this one time I walked on a girl sexing up a baby in a parking lot and thought "Lucky little bastard" because that girl was as hot as Marilyn Monroe. Speaking of which, her death's anniversary was 17 days ago, which, as the great wizards foretold years ago after the extinction of the dinosaurs, means that someone incredibly hot will be born on this day. Well, they won't be hot now, but they will be in a few years. Oh, and speaking of dinosaurs, we should probably keep a very close eye on the cost of our insurance, we don't want to go extinct like they did. Oh! That reminds me that there's a new Jurassic Park movie coming out soon, I hope they don't jump the Megalodon. And that was an awesome dinosaur, Megalodon, I mean. It was all like "rawr I'm going to eat you" and then it ate a whale to show that it could very well eat you. Which reminds me that I'm rather hungry. I should probably get around to cooking something. I want a sandwich, but I'm out of meat, unfortunately. And I can't really drive to the store to get some. It's rather sad, really. Speaking of sad things, I should probably rewatch Clannad. Man, that's a good anime. It's not as good as Pandora Hearts, to be honest, but it's still really good. Speaking of Alice in Wonderland based material, I should probably get around to watching that Tim Burton version. I wonder if it's any good...Hopefully it's as satisfying as making fun of idiots over the Internet. And speaking of porn, did you know that only about 1% of the Internet is porn? Well, if TVTropes can be believed, and I feel fairly certain that they can, after all, they are right about most things. Except when it comes to music, they aren't very good at that, but that's probably because they aren't devoted to music like Last.FM and whatnot is. Seriously, it's like every site in the world that isn't devoted to music cannot define genres. It gets rather annoying after a while, like reading the things said by stupid people on the Internet. And trolls, but I'm fairly certain most of them are just stupid. Otherwise, Sarah Palin is considered a troll, and no way in hell can Sarah Palin be a troll. If Sarah Palin's a troll, then I'm a sheep. And I don't want to be a sheep, because I have a friend from New Zealand. And being a sheep around a Kiwi is almost as stupid as being a Jew around a Nazi. But nowhere near as stupid as being a Jewish Sheep around a Nazi Kiwi. Because that's not going to end well for you, like this topic isn't going to end well. But hey, it's a thread in Misc, what are you gonna do? Well, I suppose you could try making it not terrible, but that requires effort, and I know how you Miscers hate effort. But most good things require effort, and the ones that don't are generally caused by things out of your hands. Like rainbows, or sugar gliders. Seriously, those things are cute. They almost compete with cats in terms of cuteness. CATS! Those are, like, the patron saint of cute. Or is that Lain (Serial Experiments Lain) in a bear suit? I'm not sure. Maybe they share the title. Like two political parties under a coalition, or the laser and shark parts of a laser shark. They both share the reward, and the effort. And speaking of things Misc. lacks, Cracked is very funny at times. Maybe it's the dick jokes. If so, you guys should make more jokes referencing male sex organs. Or at least their use in porn, because, well, this is the porn thread, which reminds me that I don't really care much for porn, because I never found the idea of two people having fake, emotionless sex in front of a camera appealing. So yeah, I don't care for porn, but I'm not against it. Unless it's girl on girl, then I will probably like it.

I started watching porn because I was concerned that I wouldn't know how to have sex when I got around to doing so (and had plans to in the near future).

True story.

I've heard from respected sources on the matter (read: Cracked) that porn sex is nothing like regular sex. Is this true? I don't know because I'm sacrifice fodder.

Porn is a very useful thing, in my opinion. I enjoy it very much and due to my location, there are very few gay men around so I do have to indulge myself in some way...

On the whole 'age restriction' issue, I think it all comes down to maturity. If one is mature enough to understand that porn is generally a fantasy and that normal sex isn't usually like that, then they're mature enough to watch it. My issue with an underage minor viewing porn is that they'll grow up thinking that this is what sex should be like.

Imagine being a fertility doctor and having couple after couple coming in and saying 'we can't conceive' and the real issue is that they're having sex in a way they've seen in porn (ie. ejaculation occurs outside of the vagina). It'd feel bad and annoying. Those people should just be banned from porn altogether.

Though, if anyone manages to make that a feasible government policy, I will give up porn for life as it's generally impossible to measure someone's maturity.
Besides, I can tell you for a fact that children are watching porn and not being caught and it's not negatively affecting them that much.

This makes no sense. This is the result of not sleeping for two days; DON'T DO IT, KIDS!
