possible Dragonball RPG?

I'd like to start up a Dragonball RPG. ^^

BUT, I'd like to go about it differently. I've seen most Dragonball RPs as being based around power levels, fighting, and pretty much being the most powerful person on the planet and/or universe. There's usually a heck of a lot of stats, importance placed on battle moves and how many senzu you can have per week, etcetera.

What I'D like to do is start at the very beginning, having everyone start out low powered -- and with mostly original characters. I'd also want a cap on how many non-humans there'd be. Plot would revolve around characters and their ambitions rather than 'villain comes, good guys beat them'. Of course, being the GM, I'd want to incorporate some villians of my own, but I'd make the villains based on the weaknesses of the player characters -- to make it challenging aside from being about physically beating the villain.

Anyway, if there's anyone interested in a Dragonball RP like this, lemme know here! Also, feel free to gimme some suggestions, say the kinds of things you'd like to see in a Dragonball RP, and so on.

I would be willing to attempt a Dragonball Z rpg, however I only have the knowledge of a couple of seasons (Saiyan/Frieza/Android/Cell Saga/Boo(sp?)) so I would prefer a non-story based RP. Though I think your going for a non-story RP anyway...
This would be very open to god-modding, someone could very easily become very powerful very quickly so stringent and strict GMing would be needed I suppose. I don't really know what else to say, I think you have a good platform if you stick to that set of "rules" above, how about showing us (well me) a plot and people can see if that can be worked with.

Well yeah, I'm pretty much wanting to create a different storyline using the Dragonball universe as a base, sorta. And I've done this a few times before, with strict GMing, and it turned out pretty good -- so good that two of the former members wrote MULTIPLE novels based on our spinoff universe. Heck, I think I might ask one of them to pop in and co-GM on this, because we'd kicked around this idea for a while ever since our last game ended.

I'm in the process of formulating a bit of a plot, but I think I'll hold off on posting it until more people show interest. I'd like at least five people other than me. More is always good, but any less and I wouldn't see much of a point. (I usually do 2-3 person RPs in IM boxes and chat, not so much message boards.)

Hrm... I think I'll come back a little later with a character of mine as an example of what people can start out with. ^^

Well sure, if you want. Just keep watching this post, as I'll start explaining stuff here before I write up the official signup and all that jazz. ^^
