Welcome to the 6th Generation Pokemon of the Week Collaboration section. This section is meant to act as a collaborative community project to discuss competitive usage for a randomly selected Pokemon each week, after which an article based on the discussion will be posted on Serebii.net. Please read the forum rules before making posts in this section.

***OFFICIAL 6TH GEN POKEMON OF THE WEEK COLLABORATION RULES***

In summary:

  1. Follow all Serebii.net rules.
  2. Ensure posts are relevant to competitive Pokemon.
  3. If you post sets, specify the format where it can be used.
  4. Avoid anecdotal justification.
  5. Don’t flame/troll other members.
  6. Don’t derail the topic.
  7. Do not post PotW related comments from previous weeks in the current week’s thread.

1. Follow All Serebii.net Rules.

Follow all Serebii.net rules. These rules applies to the sub-forums on the site, and this forum is no different.

2. Ensure posts are relevant to competitive Pokemon.

Keep in mind that the PotW section is a competitive Pokemon section, and as a result, your posts should pertain to competitive Pokemon as well. Posts with no competitive relevance will be treated as spam and dealt with accordingly.

3. If you post sets, specify the format where it can be used.

Remember that there are multiple battle formats and most of them have different rules. Specify where your set is being used, such as singles, doubles, tiered play, official Nintendo formats, etc., to avoid confusion.

4. Avoid anecdotal justification.

I’m sure everyone has strong opinions when it comes to a Pokemon’s usability, but if your justification for those opinions is along the lines of “I never have problems with this Pokemon so it sucks”, or “I beat a bunch of people with this set so it’s the best set”, then that doesn’t really provide any discussion. It also fails to take the skill of the players into consideration, so don’t make this a focus of your discussion.

5. Don’t flame/troll other members.

A difference in opinion does not give you the right to flame and/or troll other members. Anyone caught doing this will be infracted immediately.

6. Don’t derail the topic.

Each PotW thread is very straight forth. There is no reason to steer the topic away from the Pokemon being discussed. There is a zero-tolerance policy for derailing the PotW thread.

7. Do not post PotW related comments from previous weeks in the current week’s thread.

If you notice an error on the PotW page from the week before (that is not a simple difference in opinion on how a Pokemon should be used), you can report it in the Mistakes on Serebii.net thread. Do not use the next week’s PotW thread for this.

Conclusion

Failure to comply with these rules will earn you a "Disobeying the Rules of a specific sub-forum infraction". If you have any questions, feel free to PM them to any of the Competitive Forum staff, and if you see any rules being broken or have any issues, report them as mods won't always be able to be at every place at once due to our schedules. Alternatively, you can PM any problems to us. Enjoy!
