Power Rangers: Crystal Saviors

Okay, if I may have everyone's attention, *sees mass amounts of people fleeing thread*, I wanted to bring up something that I thought up today while I was bored. I got thinking about the original Power Rangers, and I thought back to the days when it was the greatest show everywhere, and EVERYONE watched it.

That being said, I created this basic idea. This might not actually become a fic, but it was an interesting idea, and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Temorary Title: Power Rangers: Crystal Saviors

Plot Outline: It is two hundred years in the future, and mankind is dominated by an alien race. In the past, a group known as the Ancient Rangers once protected the earth, but the arrival of the aliens destoryed them, and for the first time, a Power Rangers team failed.

Humans are now slaves, working in cramped conditions, barely lingering to their fading past. With this in mind, two people have devised a way to defeat the aliens that enslaved the world, using the ancient crystals that the Ancient Rangers once possessed.

Characters:

Andrew: Andrew was the only human with the abilities and knowledge to obtain and uncover the Crystals, three seperate devices that allow humans to morph into the Rangers. When Andrew tried to use the Opal Crystal, the power backfired, transforming him into stone.

Before Andrew died, he entrusted the two other Crystals to Devon and John, giving four others the chance to gain to powers of the Ancient Rangers, renaming them the Crystal Saviors.

John: John is Andrew's little brother. When Andrew died, John's life force allowed him to split the second Crystal into four parts, giving three of his and Andrew's friends the powers of the Crystal Saviors Rangers.

John is the Emerald Ranger, and is the leader because of his ties to Andrew. Using the Emerald Crystal stuck in his right hand, John can summon the form of the Emerald Ancient Ranger.

Aaron: Aaron is one of Andrew's old friends. He was given the powers of the Diamond Crystal, giving him the power to transform into the Diamond Ranger. It is trapped in his right hand, and transforms him into the form of the Diamond Ancient Ranger.

Liz: Liz is John's dear friend, and has been ever since John saved her in a mine when they were children. Andrew gave her the power of the Sapphire Crystal, allowing her to become the Sapphire Ranger when she summons her power.

Jamie: Jamie is Andrew's friend, though she'd like to have been more while he was alive. Andrew entrusted her with the Ruby Crystal, giving her the powers to become the Ruby Ranger. She and John have fights over who is the actual leader at times, as it is common knowledge that the Ruby Ancient Ranger was the leader.

Devon: Devon is Andrew's oldest friend, and helped him while they discovered the three Ancient Crystals. He is mainly the team's advisor and gathers information on ancient text about the former Rangers to help the Crystal Saviors become stronger, accessing them more weapons and programs.

Devon protects the Onyx Crystal, which has a power he has not yet discovered.

The Crystals:

The Crystals are three powerful items used by the original Ancient Rangers to fight evil in the past. Andrew and Devon discovered them through research, and brought them to their city, Arlington. One was split in four to give John, Aaron, Liz, and Jamie their morphing powers.

Opal Crystal: This is the Crystal Andrew used to try and become the Opal Ancient Ranger. Unfortunately, the power backfired, and instead of transforming him, killed him by turning him into stone. The Opal Crystal is still inside the stone, which may suggest a way to revive Andrew.

Rainbow Crystal: This Crystal is made up of four colors: Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond, and Ruby. When Andrew was sealed in stone, an imbalance formed and seperated them, transferring their powers to four friends of Andrew's. These are stuck in the skins of all the Rangers' right hands, and give them the powers to call on the power of the Ancient Rangers.

Onyx Crystal: A strange Crystal, it was not mentioned in the text that Andrew and Devon read. Devon guards it now, and searches for an explaination as to its purpose.

The Hideaway:

The Hideaway is the home of the Rangers, as well as their base. There are rooms and everything for the members. In Devon's lab is Andrew's statue.

I kinda like this idea. I always think when I watch SPD and all the others:

"Alpha 5 where did they go wrong?"

The original rangers were awesome, you could relate to them on a human level, as they were technically average teenagers, the powers were just fancy costumes, weapons and the Zords, and the Zords themselves were so not uber you had to love them. They were real heroes, the new rangers are too overpowered. It'll be good to bring them back, even in fanfiction.

I've even been considering a Power Rangers fic, but the idea never got farther than the colours.

And the plot idea, I like. It's a bit Wildforce-esque, but Wildforce was the second best Ranger series after Mighty Morphing IMO.

And I hope to see these Zords:

Tyrannosaurus
Triceratops
Saber-Toothed Cat(Have to be correct)
Pterodactyl(admittedly incorrect, but like we knew?)
Mastodon
DRAGONZORD(You skip this one, and I will loathe you. Dragon Zord ROCKED!)
Titanus(It's a possibility, he was always cool)

Well, the Zords will be different. The Ancient Rangers aren't the original Power Rangers, and the Crystal Saviors will rely on their power to use the morphers. Some new things I thought of today.

Morphers:

The Crystals themselves are the Morphers, and are sealed in the backs of the Rangers right hands. To use them, the Rangers throw their arms out, and clamp their hands together.

These morphers transform them into the same uniforms worn by the Ancient Rangers, but there is a slight difference in the morphing call, which I have already chosen.

Oooh. Spiffy. I've been thinking of writing a Rangers fanfic for a while now.

I loved Power Rangers way back when...

Sounds like a good idea, too, Power Shot. I'll have to read it when/if you write it.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I also liked the first generation than the others (although Wild Force was good as well in my opinion). I say you go with it. If you do write it, I'll definately read it.

Heh, the idea has been growing on me. Maybe I should, just to bring some old glory back to this dying series. The idea is original, it will be violent, and there's no chance of fake, plastic villians.

I have a slight idea about the first chapter. Anyone want to beta read it?

I felt like mentioning to everyone that I am planning on creating a fic based solely on this idea. I have written the first chapter, but I'm not quite sure about it. Does anyone still show an interest in beta reading the first chapter of the fic?

I would like to know, because this idea is a pretty original one on my part, even if I won't be making the thread for the story for a long time.

Why do I keep having the sensation that I've read something along these same lines on ff.net? Oh well, I say go for it; although, I think having the morphing sequence rhyme is sort of cliched. BTW, is there gonna be a Ranger team-up as well as a sixth ranger? That is Power Ranger tradition after all.

Power Rangers team up? Maybe...I never like revealing future things in a fic. As for a sixth Ranger...who knows? This fic would take a lot of time, and the plot is almost finished.

Oh, and there is a perfectly good reason for the morphing sequence being like that, which will be shown in the second chapter.

There wasn't always a sixth ranger.
In the Japanese version, there have been 25 generations and the first ten don't have any sixth rangers.
Look at Dino Thunder; there's only Connor, Kyra, Ethan, Tommy, and Trent.

But it would be nice to have a sixth ranger, or up to the fourteenth ranger, which happened in SPD:

Good rangers: Jack, Skye, Bridge, Z, Syd, Doggie, Kat, Sam, Nova
Evil A-Squad Rangers: Charlie, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink

Do something original. Break old habits.

Oh no, that wouldn't work. This takes place in a futuristic enviroment, and completely away from Pokemon. Anyway, I have to save this, it's a decent idea, but I have other fics I need to finish first. I'm not going to be doing three fics at once again.

Well, I decided to file this plan for later use. However, if you really want Ranger action, click on the sig for the story of Ash and May in Golden Light, Voltaic Strike. I'm planning on turning it into something really special. This will come out one day, but not until I am finished with my other fics.

If anyone is really interested, I suppose I could share with them the beta version of the beginning chapter...
