The more time goes along, the more I think the writers should have just ended Satoshi's story...he really has no business doing anything in Paldea without jumping through hoops or regressing his image, feats or general ways in some form.

Not to open this can of worms but they can't even have him show off super strong attachment or emotions, just the drama and contrast with Go being so upset and Satoshi being kind "oh well, on to the next adventure" really highlighted how stagnant he is and kind of has to be as a flat character to keep this show going (a common mandate in long-running series like Spider-Man comics, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc.)

Honestly we are at the point of a bucket list. There is still a few loose ends for Ash to deal with before he can leave.

The reason why so many people have wanted Ash's arc to end at various points is that if they really are planning on Ash just forever sticking around, it's a high chance the anime will end at some point without heavy notice, and Ash won't get true finality.

That would be interesting. In fact, I’d rather see Ash be a teacher rather than a student for SV. But also Ash should not trust Geeta if the games are anything to go by. She’s bad news it seems.

Ultimately, you are correct. But in my case, the perfect girl probably doesn't exist. In Ash's case, I do know the perfect girl for him, but it's essentially guaranteed he'll never meet her as she lives in another verse.
