Prehistoric animals as Pokemon

There might be older threads on these kinds of topics, but I'd rather not necro them. Recently, I came up with a list of prehistoric mammals and reptiles that could be the basis for new Pokemon, though not necessarily fossil Pokemon. We already have a few - Yanmega based on Meganeura, Mamoswine on the woolly mammoth, and possibly Kangaskhan based on Procoptodon, the giant short-range kangaroo. Anyway:

Armadillo (Normal/Steel or Ground/Steel) - branched evolution (Doedicurus if attack is higher than defense, Glyptodon if defense is higher than attack, same typing as pre-evolution).

Pakicetus (Normal type) - Ambulocetus (Normal/Water type ) - branched evolution (Dorudon ("baseline" final evolution, Water type), Basilosaurus (evolve only with some kind of outside stimulus, e.g. evolution stone or trade holding item, to showcase their rarity, Water/Dragon)).

Arthropleura - Bug/Steel type, more defensive than Scizor.

Diatryma/Gastornis, Phorusracos/Keleken, Titanis, Bullockornis/Dromornis/Genyornis, Giant Moa - Normal/Flying type in the case of the herbivores, Dark/Flying type in the case of the carnivores. Any of these might do, though a Moa-based Pokemon might favour defense more than attack and speed.

Argentavis/Haast's Eagle - Ghost/Flying type.

Toxodon, Macrauchenia - both Normal types, the former having higher defense and the latter having higher speed.

Smilodon/Thylacosmilus - Normal/Dark type, able to learn Elemental Fangs.

Camelops/Titanotylopus - Ground/Water, mainly desert-based, but able to use Water-type moves.

Horned gopher - Normal/Ground type, able to learn horn-based moves like Horn Attack and Megahorn.

Dodo - Normal/Flying type, unable to learn Fly.

Great Auk - Water/Ice type, able to learn Flying-type moves.

Moeritherium (base form, Water type) - Gomphotherium (first evolution, Water type) Deinotherium (final stage, Water type)

Ancylotherium (first-stage Pokemon, uses stomping and smashing moves) - Chalicotherium (second-stage evolution, graduates from stomping/smashing to slashing moves) - Moropus (third-stage evolution, evolves via Grass Stone, gaining better stats at the cost of it's movepool). Normal/Grass type Pokemon.

Indricotherium - Rock/Steel type, high defense, low speed.

Gigantopithecus (Normal type), Dinopithecus (Dark/Fighting type) - two different Pokemon, similar to the Passimian/Oranguru dynamic in Sun/Moon.

Megatherium - Normal/Steel type, very high defense.

Wombat (base form) - Diprotodon (second stage evolution) - both Normal type, able to learn Ground-type moves.

Thylacine (base form, Fire type) - Thylacaleo (final form, Fire/Fighting type. Evolves using Fire Stone).

Quinkana (Water/Dark) and Megalania (Dragon/Poison) - could be version-exclusive.

Procoptodon (or Red kangaroo, depending on how much of Procoptodon you see in Kangaskhan) - Normal/Fighting type, or at least able to learn Jump Kick.

Daeodon - Dark type. Personally, I think Tepig's evolution's should have been Fire/Dark and more boar-like, something along these lines.

Puppy (first-stage evolution, Normal type) - branched evolution, both Normal/Dark type (Hyaenodon if attack is higher than speed, Amphicyon/Bear-dog if speed is higher than attack).

Leptictidium (first-stage evolution, Normal/Fighting type) - Palorchestes (second-stage evolution, Psychic/Fighting type, evolves via external method, e.g. stone or trade).

Synthetoceras - Grass/Electric type, though, as IOTL, only the males have the large Y-shaped horn on their noses.

Woolly rhino, Elasmotherium - Ground/Ice type.

Sivatherium - Fighting/Grass, just to differentiate it a bit more from Girafarig.

Zygophyseter (base form, Water/Psychic type) - Livyatan (final stage, Water/Psychic type. Evolves at high level to showcase rarity). Both can learn Elemental Fangs (Thunder, Fire and Ice) and Psychic Fangs.

Zaglossus hacketti/giant echidna - Grass/Ground type.

Any thoughts? This is mainly an idea junkyard. And I know some of these animals weren't related, but I just thought, thematically, that some of them worked together.

I'd be happy to discuss other options put forward.
