Preparing for Future Games

As you already know, new games are coming out. Some of them are sequeals and some of the are upgrades, and you just want to play them, but are you ready for the lext level? Whenever I wait for a new game to come out, I play the old ones so I can be ready for the new one. Do you do the same?

As of this week, I playing the Castlevania games I have (COTM, HOD, AOS, DOS) so I can be ready for Castlevaina: Portrait of Ruin, the Pokemon games I have (FireRed, LeafGreen, Sapphire) to be ready for Pokemon Versions: Diamond & Pearl, The Leagend of Zelda games (OOS, OOA) to be prepared for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, etc. What about you?

(I couldn't decide where to put this topic at, as some of you don't always play Nintendo... at least, I think so)

I play the old games as well as reading every scrap of info on the game. I bet we all do this but it dose help the first timers. Good thread idea. ;025;

Actually, I prefer to do the opposite. Whenever a sequel to one of the games I likes comes out, I try NOT to play any other games in the series. That way I find that I enjoy the new game much more, because if I've been playing a similar game for the past couple of days, I will get bored quickly. Usually after I've completed the new game, I then play through the old games again, mainly for nostalgic reasons.

I agree with you Moonlight. I mean, in the case of zelda games, a lot of the puzzles are similar. If I buy I new Zelda game and havnt been on one in a couple of months or weeks, then the puzzles wont be as fresh in my mind, making it more of a challenge and fun.

But I can see where you are coming from. There are games, like metroid, where practice would make it much better to play.

WEll, I only really do it for Metroid games and I'm not very good at that. I'm trying to complete MP2 before Corruption comes out just so I have some idea what's going on. But for the other games it doesn't really matter.
