Problems with Photoshop 6

SURPRISE BUTTSECKS
Alright, here's the deal.
I just learned that the Pen Tool kicks ***. A lot of ***. I was using it for about 2 hours inking my Goken sketchwork by Stroking the pen lines. After a while, I made a seperate black layer and wanted to stroke the lines again to make them smoother. Instead, all I got was the Stroke appearing on the points of where I clicked to make the lines, resulting in dots of Paintbrush everywhere I clicked, and no solid lines like I was getting. I saved, quit, restarted the machine, and the results were the same. I can't fix this. If anyone can help me or give me insight to this, as to why it would be happening, please letme know. I appreciate it.

Well, the pen tool is split into different sub pens. I think it's because you're using the "Freeform Pen" Tool rather than the "Pen tool". Click on the Pen Tool on the left side toolbar, then in the above, below the Pulldown menus, select the Pen tool again (First one) instead of the Freeform Pen (Second button).

Make sure on the top right button (Below the pull-down menus) are at Paths and not shape layers, and I think it'll be back to normal.

Very Interesting : )

Can you go to the "Brushes" Palette on the top right of your window, and check if the "scatter" is on? while you've selected the "Brush" Tool?

If so, tick it off.

[EDIT]
Also check the "Dual Brush" as well, if that's on, tick it off.

I can't seem to find the "Brushes" palette. Keep in mind I'm using PS6, so I don't know; maybe that thing is in a later version. *shrug*
