Problems with Screen Sharing

So I have an HP Pavillion G6 laptop which has recently been upgraded to run Windows 10. Along with this I have a Samsung Smart TV which has an option for screen sharing; as does the PC.

The only issue is every time I try, it connects briefly and then completely closes and can sometimes leave my laptop with a black screen where I can do nothing.

I know this isn't a lot of info to go on; but help would certainly be appreciated. My boyfriend and I both got our phones to run through screen sharing no problem it just seems to be my computer having an issue.
