Production problems Pokemon anime

The worst part is that OLM made a good job adapting Inazuma Eleven, but Pokémon is just terrible.

What is the airspeed of an unladen Swellow?
But if Yu-Gi-Oh can do it,why not Pokemon?
Just because one franchise moved to a new studio doesn’t mean others can.

It would all depend on what the contracts say. If OLM has some ownership stake in the IP, then it would be really hard and/or really expensive to move it to a new studio.

I suspect a studio change wouldn't be the panacea people think it'd be. Staffing problems is an industry-wide problem, not something exclusive to OLM, and taking on an anime the size of Pokemon would be a significant commitment. Whatever fresh ideas there'd be would be balanced by the demands of producing a weekly TV anime.

If the idea is for a new studio to do a seasonal Pokemon anime, they may as well start a brand new show entirely. They're practically already doing this, with a number of smaller animated projects coming out of different studios in recent years.

Yeah, a new studio isn't going to be able to handle the Pokemon anime any better or worse at this point. Everyone is busy because everyone keeps taking on more projects than they can handle because everyone needs that short-term cashflow to stay afloat. The only studios that don't are Toei Animation (which still over-produces at times but is also much-more involved in funding their own projects), Kyouto Animation (which, like Toei, has a heavier hand in fundinging their own projects and is also extremely selective about which projects they take on so as to avoid being overwhelmed) and Ghibli (which essentially does not exist because it doesn't do television series).

Not thinking twice!

Isn't Ufo mostly in-house as well

All set to be a nice guy

I think Shaft and Trigger as well. Basically if an anime style is very distinguishable, it's very likely done in house by a studio. KyoAni, Shaft, Ufo and Trigger works are usually very recognisable from others. Peak Madhouse as well.

What I was saying is that the funding and actual "We're going to do this and profit from it" is for studios like Toei or Kyouto Animation. A lot of studios are otherwise just contracted by a production committee to do the work and thus have less of a stake in the project. These are the studios that typically take on a half dozen projects at once. Typically, if a studio appears higher up on the Production credit for an anime then they'll be one of the production committee members that has a higher stake in the project.

Okay, I wonder what Pokémon Anime would look like if it was Drawn by Ufotable or Maybe like Studio Trigger but eh...

Would Pokémon anime be popular if it was drawn by Ufotable?

An Ash-free Pokemon anime would be great if it was drawn at other Studios, anything is possible as well.

You are awesome!
It is interesting it took so long for the problems of the animatiion industry to be "visible" in a show like Pokemon that has a detailed schedule with not much room to be flexible.

Also I am sure covid made the problems that were already there only worse. Will it be fixed soon? Hell no. Will it have an impact on the future of animation? Probably, look what happens to streaming services like Netflix and HBO: they cancel stuff and the people are overworked. Same happens in Japan. It is kinda interesting that both the west and the east have a staffing problem , a problem of underpayment and a lack of appriciation for the hard work they do.
