Maybe TG are talking with the prof. to find out what type of starter you chose, so that they can pick pokemon that are strong against it? Just a theory it would make it alot more of a challenge then fighting pokemon that are weak to yours.

maybe one of the starter pokemon evolve into diaruga and one of them into parkeiu and the one of them into the third ledgendary.... you get parkuia/diagrua depends on which version and you rival gets opisite... then the professor keeps the third one.... and then your pokemon evlove into there 3rd state and its jus some pokemon... but then team galaxy have like a diamond and pearl item and exposes it to the starters which evlove ito the ledgends....

What would their types be, Purikia be Pyschic, Diaruga be Dark, Third for Fighting...maybe...

That'd be wierd but if that was true parkuia would probly be the psychic starter, diagrua would probly be the dark starter and, well...maybe luccario would be the fighting starter.I highly dought it though.

The trouble is, what if you wanted to check your Pokedex progress? You wouldn't be able to because the Professor would battle you when you talk to him, and you probably wouldn't be able to reach him via Match Call (or similar).

Oooh, that'd be awesome if the Prof. turned out to be evil! But Colluseum did follow a different pattern than the gameboy games (a lot more complicated of a plot) so I wouldn't count on that to decide this.
