PS3 Apes Wii....

Korobooshi Kojiro

Funnnngaaaaa
Kuturagi takes the stage. He introduces the PS3 controlled ... and it's the PS3 controller?!? It looks exactly the same, but it has many new function. Most importantly, it has "6 degrees" of motion-sensing movement. (Um, Nintendo, what do you have to say about this?) You can move it up and down, you have pitch and yaw and roll movement, and it's all still wireless and, in fact, lighter than PS2's DualShock.

The Wii's number 1 claim to fame, has been copied. Although, they didn't seem to demonstarte the "motion sensing" power, so it may not be a integrated as the Wii's.

Actually, they did demonstrate it with Warhawk. But you know what? It looks foolish and clumsy, disatisfying, and a blatant ripoff of the Wii's controller interface. Way to go Sony. -_-

Before anyone goes "OMG SONY STOLE FROM NINTENDO," remember that you can't do as much as you can with the Wii controller. I don't see it being implemented to heavily, and I think a regular controller doesn't work as well as a remote-like controller for this.

The motion sensing capabilities are not going to be used like Nintendo is using it. I am pretty sure Nintendo patented their idea.. at least how they are going to use it.

On a side note: It was really amusing to see Sony steal Ninty's idea and act like it was their own.. in front of thousands of people...

Can you use the PS3 controller like a sword or gun? No. I rest my case.

Those are my two most anticipated uses for the Wiimote (and the reason I’m really looking forward to Red Steel) and since the PS3 is incapable of those actions among several others I am still satisfied.

all it does is for stuff like "monkey ball" (oh boy!) it can tilt like the screen so the ball would roll a certain direction...they are completely different...to be honest i'm not worried about the wii, it is much more exciting to use, link tp+wii+swinging sword=heaven...if you still think it can do the same stuff as a wii go to ign or to prove how it would suck with a ps3, grab a game controller or ds and try to play it like a wii remote, then grab a tv remote and try to play it like a wii...the wii is more comfortable and much better (in my opinion)

Well, there's lots of talk of it already, but the PS3 controller's tilt sensors aren't there to rival the responsiveness and wonderfulness of the Wiimote. Nay! They're there because when it comes to both the Wii and the PS3 being in shops, before people would have seen the info on the Wii box and gone "Cool! You get to move the controller around in real life!", but now people can look at both boxes and no doubt Sony will lie a bit about how good the tilt sensors of there's are.

And people will go, "Sony's doing it as well but with better graphics." Let's get it.

So funny, and yet so true. Remember the PSP? Do you think Sony would have ever created the PSP is the Gameboy weren't so popular? Off course not! But it's not like they are going to win this fight. Just look at the comparison Bayleef gave. Whatever the PS3 can, the Wii can do it better. And if Sony keeps making games like Singstar or Eye Toy instead of real games, we can assure that Sony won't survive long enough to make the PS4. So what does it matter that they stole the controller idea? We know that the controller of the Wii is better, we know that the PS3 will suck compared to the Wii, we know that PS3 sucks compared to the X360, so why the hell do we make such an issue out of this! The Wii will win anyway.

What I'm wondering about most is how Microsoft is reacting to this. For the next gen consoles, the X360 is the only one that still uses the old controller.

Good or not the PS3 "copycat" controller is, Nintendo should've shown theirs a year later. I could wait. And if they did, Sony wouldn't have stolen the idea and Wii would've stolen the show like PS3 had stolen the controller.

Sony had been sued for stealing the "Dual Shock thing" or whatever....Hey, wait a sec! I got an idea!

WE SHOULD E-MAIL AND CONVINCE NINTENDO TO SUE SONY!

First of all, it seems all technology can be copied. It just can't be a direct copy (like literally taking the patent and copying it) unless licensed. If Nintendo could sue Sony for that, they could sue everyone else. Actually Atari would sue first because Nintendo "copied" Atari... which could then be sued by Magnavox, the company that invented the home gaming console.
(Woah! Massive chain reaction! @_@) Hmm....good point.

Second of all, I'm thinking you all are taking this way too seriously.
How's that? Please explain.

Ubisoft Montreal's Clint Hocking slams Sony but bigs-up the Wii, as he makes his next-gen views known.

The creative director on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has spoken on his dissapointment at Sony's "copying" of other companies. He noted the Xbox Live style interface the PS3 has adopted, and also the tilt-sensors in the controller being inspired by Nintendo's Wii-mote. "How much more 'me too' can [Sony] be?" he said.

He also attacked the industry for incrementally pushing visuals with every new generation as much as is happening now, saying it was a "fundamental problem of approach" to continue the push for stronger graphics - especially when, in his opinion, the adoption rate for HD televisions is low.

Hocking went on to congratulate Nintendo on the Wii Remote, saying that it will bring the emotions of games directly to the player, more than better graphics can. And if it can meet the promised technical accuracy, it will open up creativity in game designers for whole new experiences.

Anyways, if Sony knows that the Wii controller is much better, it'll make their controller much like Wii's!

Well, I'm not intrested in the PS3 anymore, so I don't really care about this.

ah well it just shows how pathetic sony is thats why i've never gotten a consle from them. on the plus side if the people like the motion thing then they might get a Wii since it will have hundreds of more motion sencing functions :)
