It's pretty easy to sell out when you give the stores barely any in the first place.

Well when a little amount was available it makes it easy to sell out heck i could make a box with wheels and i can sell out only if i made one..

and since sony didn't make many it was easy to sell out..

Perfect example of what selling out on launch day for the PS3 means to Sony:

Thank you Come again
Well, I guess the "Sold out" catch-phrase on paper sounds good, but it really depends on how big the stock is...
*sigh* Mr. Kutaragi, when will you ever learn...

LOL. That does seemm about right. Does anyone know how many Xbox 360 were shipped, or how many Wii's Nintendo plans to ship? I just want to see for a comparison, because 100,000 does not really mean much to me.

I think Sony is smart enough to know that they have a high price tag so they dont need as much PS3s

Uh, what? How does this make any sense?

They've even commented that the price tag is "too low." Even if the price tag is high, you've still got your fanboys, casual gamers and spoiled runts buying the console. There's a demand for the console. Having low supply will not do any good.

Maybe it can build up suspence?

Uhh okay..Ill just go now *being serious*

Uh, no. That's what teaser trailers are for. :| It's a simple matter of Sony not making enough in time for launch.

It's actually a bit of both. Consumers off put by Blu Ray and now hearinga bout the fantastic reviews are going to be wanting to purchase one now.

Awesome news PS3 <3.

Hopefully I can get one Friday.

Good point sony are um money hungry people..like us all

It's easier to produce mass amounts of lower tech though.

Wii isn't as low tech as Sony and Microsoft want you to believe, either. Anyway, low tech or not, Nintendo will be making more money than Sony this Christmas.

...why would I care about how much money Nintendo makes? I don't have stock in the company, and I doubt you do either. I hate that arguement "but it makes them more money" who cares.

Why care? Simple. Because people want the company to succeed. If not, you have another Sega. o_O
