If you're a PSP or a DS/GBA fanboy, then really, read this topic carefully. If you're not a fanboy, then you can read this topic if you want:

Although Gizmondo is a less-known handheld, it could become a challenge graphic-wise if Nintendo isn't careful... I heard that Gizmondo's 3D capabilities might rival those of the DS... Because of this, I don't know if the DS and/or PSP is going to be in firsy-or-second-or-third-place in terms of sales, so I want you to tell me(and don't argue about which console is the best): What are the pros and cons of all four handhelds? And what console has the most pros and the fewest cons?

Take this thread as your guide to use before deciding on a handheld, discuss, and answer the poll to explain your answer's conclusion...

EDIT about the fanboy-ish answers: Thank you for catching that, but in my opinion, they're not truly answers that a true fanboy would say. The answers are only in terms of pros and cons, not the handheld itself, like what a true fanboy will base his answer out of. Really, the poll answers are basically conclusions based in terms of what you think has the most pros and the fewest cons, although they do look a little fanboy-ish, but that's just about it.
Sorry for the possible confusion that the poll brought up... And remember, when you think a handheld is the best one, as long as you base it on pros and cons to make a conclusion that corresponds to your thought of what console's the best, then you've made a not-really-fanboy-ish statement...

Your poll is flawed. I have a GBA, DS and a PSP and I love all of them.

PSP:pros
1. PS2 on the go
2. Upcoming Megaman remakes

Cons:
1. Short battery life
2. Useless extra features that you no doubt already have in some form (UMD, MP3 player, internet)
3: Basically a portable PS2

DS: Pros
1. Dual screens make you play games in a new way, for some part.
2. Sideways compatibility with GBA

Cons:
1. While quite a few games take advantage of the two screens, you're spending most of the time staring at one of them.
2. Not the greatest or widest selection of titles

GBA: Pros
1. Games are easy to pick up and play
2. Wide selection of great titles, including old NES titles
3. Old SNES games ported over for nostalgia

Cons:
1. Graphics eclipsed by the DS and PSP
2. Most new titles are heading to the DS
3. Some games are very easy, especially ports.

What is the point of comparing consoles when in the end it comes down to the games?

Gizmondo - Ugh.
PSP - Far too much money at the moment.
GBA - I wub it.
DS - I wub it so much, it leaks white juices from time to time.

Why can we only vote fanboyish answers, and why is the Tapwave Zodiac II excluded from this poll?

Come on, you guys haven't heard of the Zodiac II? It's pretty similar to the PSP. http://images.zatz.com/websites/computingunplugged/issues/issue200408/00001348-a.gif

Looks like the best alternative to the 2 mainstream handheld companies. I've heard that the Gizmondo and N-Gage were awful. Oh, and by the way, if anyone tells you that the PSP was the first system to have an analog stick/nub, they're lying. The Zodiac II came out first, and the Neo Geo Pocket Color had an analog stick if I remember correctly.

Looks wierd, but have yet to see games, so won't judge too much. Seems like a PDA though.

Yay! Seconded! ;D

Honestly though... what the hell is wrong with people these days? Why the hell does everyone think one console is the best and all the others have to suck? They're all decent in their own way, and like Paradox said, what's the point in comparing consoles when it all depends on the games? ;| Sometimes, I think that people just want to prove their own fanboyish point (subtly) by creating polls like this, and after a lot of results, they'll go. "Oh! I told you DS was the best! HAHA PSP SUCKS!"

So. You think I'm going to vote? No. I'll edit this post with some of my own actual topic opinions, though.

Once again, you don't know. If you can find the official site, they've actually got Madden and a few others out. I think the library is still small, even smaller than the N-Gage's I think.

its not only about having the most pros and the least cons because some pros are more important than others. obviosly games are the most important and i just dont like many games on the ds. next most important imo is graphics and PSP wipes the floor in that department. most if not all of the other factors are irrelevant to me so PSP wins overal for me.

Surely you would have to count dead pixels on the PSP aswell, and the Playstation fanboys comment apart from being nothing about the console is true for the DS aswell

Best thing I have ever heard. There are too many DS fanboys here.
