this is just to see what you think psyduck actually is. Many still think it's a duck, but now i'm sure it's a platypus. what about you?

Hmm Psyduck would probably be a duck. Besides, if it was a platypus, wouldn't it be part poison type or something since I heard it had like venom or something. Maybe I heard wrongly but oh well :p.

No, you heard right, the platypus is the world's only venomous mammal.

I think he looks like a hybrid, platypus head and limbs with duck body.

Charizard is based on the western dragon and Gyarados is based on a sea dragon. Yet they aren't Dragon-typed. Get my point.

I agree that it is some sort of hybrid of the two.

Uh..do you even know what a Kappa is? >_> Golduck is often MISTAKENED as a Kappa. Not that it is one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_(mythical_creature) Looking at the picture there, Golduck isn't even close to being a Kappa. Hence why it's mistakened for one.

I see them both as being ducks considering they have more features of ducks than a platypus. Not to mention both of their names, even in Japan, refer to them as a duck.

Koduck -> Psyduck
Golduck -> Golduck

Koduck is basically Baby Duck, in Japanese. Not to mention, the anime gives Koduck a quacking kind of voice.

He is a Duck, but I'd like to imagine him as a Platypus. If pokemon were to be real, they'd be wild Psyduck here in Australia. ^_^

more specifically, only the male platypus has venom.

Ontopic, Psyduck may be ambiguous, but Golduck just screams platypus to me. So what if it doesn't have a beaver tail? If memory serves me right, ducks also don't have human-like arms and clawed fingers. Also, I never see these guys floating in water like a duck, just swimming (well, sinking in Psyduck's case).
