Actually, such a glitch exists, though it isn't really a glitch.
When you first enter Agate, you are on a boardwalk, and you can see a little cliff thing to the left of the grass ramp you walk up. Go to that cliff, and try to walk off by holding DOWN on the control stick. Wes will then keep on walking as long you hold it down. If you have any Shadows in your party, each time the screen shakes, it will count as a step, and they will be purified. It's great if they need to be purified by Day Care or walking.
To make it simpler, take your controller out. Hold UP on the control stick, then put it back in while holding it. It will treat UP as the neutral position, and therefore the normal position as DOWN, which means you don't have to do anything and Wes will walk on his own, purifying your Pokemon.
Keep in mind that this takes some time. I'd give it half an hour to have a real effect.
Don't worry about your controller. If you take it out again, then let it be in the neutral position when you put it back in, it'll be the regular controls.
Hope I helped

I can only assume this works in xd as well based on the nature of the "glitch"? correct me if i'm wrong.
