the prize was a trophy and some special pokemon foods and actually mamoswine ate it quickly and even dawn's pokemon can't even get a hand on it.

all in all awesome episode

He has returned.
We've seen Pikachu take down a Dragonite- and Honchkrow's pretty strong!

It took three other pokemon besides Pikachu to take Dragonite down though, i love it how overtime pokemon that were superior in the early days fall from the grace the once had and become whipping dogs for the newer gen guys.

Heh Mamoswine sure is a glutton, isn't she/he.

yep, and like i said earlier it seemed like abit of a throwback to when Snorlax ate all that food after winning the sumo contest.

FINALLY Ash beats Paul at something.

Yet Paul didn't seem to care, heck he didn't really say all that much during the episode and really only showed emotion when Staravia evolved and then Staraptor used Close Combat and proceeded to kick Honchkrow's skull in with it's feet.

Kinda of a shame they had the birds fight now, cause it was kinda epic which makes it hard to see them fight like that ever again, even at the league.

And at least Ash mentions he plans to use Staraptor at the next gym which should kick butt

The tributes in this thread are just...*sniff*...BEAUTIFUL. I haven't even seen the episode yet. I woke up hung-over at a friend's house and just got back to my own. But nonetheless, I have found time to whip up the following, but it's lengthy and will eat up your memory.

[img139]http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/5226/muku2.jpg[/img139]

Ladies in gentlemen, we in the Pokemon fandom mourn a terrible loss today. Everyone’s favorite brain-damaged birdbrain had given us all our share of enjoyment. Whenever self-esteem was dashed or another sack of brain cells was burst by ramming into a stump, the rest of us would all laugh WITH Mukubird, not AT him.

[img139]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/5467/muku3.jpg[/img139]

Mukubird was a creature of many talents. In addition to being the generic regional second-stage bird Pokemon, Mukubird acquired the powers of a lawn mower, a doorbell, a dancer, a milk maid, a crazed lover, and even occasionally God, among other things.

[img139]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4016/muku4.jpg[/img139]

Muku.BIRD was challenged, however, by his physical and mental awkwardness. In addition to his innovative Special Ed hairdo, the bird never truly recovered from his classic case of “Aipom to the Head”.

[img139]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/69/muku5.jpg[/img139]

But none of his friends judged him or thought any less of him for it. We all enjoyed hearing him shriek, “MUKUWAAAHH!!” at the most appropriate and inappropriate moments.

[img139]http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8366/muku6.jpg[/img139]

Through the good times and the bad, we laughed and cried with Mukubird. Whether the day ended in victory over a Machoke or defeat by Spearmint gum, his experience gave us all life lessons in determination and fun ways to clean gum out of your hair/fur/feathers.

[img139]http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/708/muku7.jpg[/img139]

We never judged Muku.BIRD in spite of his many mental flaws or lack of coordination, nor did Mukubird judge anyone else for being so very inferior to him in the area of awesomeness. If only we were all more like Mukubird, then this world would be a more dysfunctional place.

[img139]http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/8598/muku8.jpg[/img139]

In the end, Mukubird’s time with us may have been short, but we can say that without regret, we enjoyed every minute of the bird’s screentime. He may be a badass now, but he will never again be the lopsided bundle of carefree joy and mishaps we came to know and love him as.

Wonder if Staraptor will be a little bit more wittier now?

Was Staravia really all that brain damaged? He seemed completely normal to me.

Staravia was an amazing pokemon. In my opinion it had tremendous power (witnessed against Maylene) but due to its size it wasn't able to show it. Now as a Staraptor, that's not true anymore.

P.S. Congrats for evolving, Starav-... Staraptor!

t is great that Ash beat Paul and that Staravia evolved. Staravia will be sorrily missed....... I would hate it if Paul releases Honchkrow.

Holy ****, that kick to the face was BRUTAL. :O

I daresay that Staraptor (it pains me to call it that) will turn out just as kickass as Swellow, maybe even moreso.

And I can't wait to hear Staraptor's dub voice.

well we didn't get to see a gliscor moment but that moment where piplup tried to fly and fell to the ground was hilarious. Overall i found this episode to be worth the watch, mainly because the epic battle at the end. I would like to find out what paul said as he was walking off though.

So wait, why did James lose for? I mean he could at least have been beaten by Paul not a freakin COTD.

Oh good, Yuuka's not dead. Alas, we must waste awesome character designs on competitors that are less significant than a standard Filler COTD. Really, I liked that spike dude with the Dragonite (who admittedly benefitted from the Iwane Effect). In regards to James, if they ever do a 3rd PokeRingers, it should be designed solely to enable James to win. He got sabotaged in the last one, and this one...well, he just had awful luck.

Before I turn on the Muku.WATERWORKS, I like how the writers were able to have Ash finally beat Paul at something, but not have it be an actual battle, which will no doubt be saved for the league. But now Ash finally knows he truly can crush him. Muku vs. Honchkrow was still a great match, and I enjoyed the "BIRD's eye view" shot. And yet, I knew that every "MUKUWAAAAH!" I heard was just one more "MUKUWAAAAH!" closer to the end of a beautiful thing.

I give the BGM crew a lot of credit for playing Movie 2 music over Muku.BIRD's final moments, which is an admittedly badass piece to play over such a monumentous scene. I do like how Mukuhawk's hair randomly sways in the wind, and its full-on smack to Honchkrow was pretty cool. But while I can still feel some of the charm in Mukuhawk's voice, its name is no longer ripe for wordplay, for while "bird" is hysterically generic, "hawk" is unfortunately specific.

I'm going to look upon this thread in a few years and suddenly start tearing up real bad. Alas, since this may be the final time I get to type this while not in some sort of nostalgia-drenched retrospective...

So what did James use? Mega-Yanma?

Wow! This PokeRinger was much better than Hoenn's. Though I do wish James went further.

I'll never forget you Muku.AWESOME. I hope Mukuhawk has even half of the fanbase that you had.

I did quite enjoy watching Staraptor kick Honchkrow in the face while using Close Combat. I'm sure that will be set as many people's avators once someone submits it to Mr. Serebii (I forget who usually does that).

I now love that with this episode Swellow became yesterday's news. RIP Swellow!

LOVED the tribute S.Suikun!!!

Oh and...

from looking at the pics Dragonites trainer looked like the best OC of the day, too bad Dragonite got ko'ed by Honchkrow, how the mighty have fallen it seems..and what the heck was the first attack dragonite used, it looked like energy ball but it couldn't have been it.

I heard the trainer call out "Hadou," so I'm sure it was Dragon Pulse.

As for James, it seems to me he waited for Megayanma's Speed Boost to kick in, only a down draft hit it. Either that, or he was waiting for the wind to blow upward.
