Question about breeding Spinda...

You know how spinda has different spot formations (im to lazy to test this on my own BTW) can any of you tell me if the parent spinda and the baby spinda have the exact same dot formations?

Thanks for posting in advanced :D

Nope, of course not. I know for sure it can't happen like that, unless you are extremely lucky, because I have a lot of Spinda's. By the way, I find it odd how Spinda can breed with pokemon like Jynx and Illumise.

Back I guess??
A baby Zebra don´t have the same stripes than one of the parents, it happens the same with
Pokémon ;) There´re more than 200,000 diferent spoted spindas IIRC, so you should have too much luck to hatch the same Spinda

Lol, Spinda breeding with illumise and hatching a Volbeat >.<

200,000?! That is a lot of game space that they would have wasted and even game developers aren't bored enough to make 200,000 patterns. Are you sure that it isn't around 20?

it´s not too hard to make that, the spots aren´t like unowns, a completely diferent sprite, just randomized balls in a face.
I remember a site that we write an number between 1 and (a big number with 6 or more digits) then it will show how your spinda look like. I also remember TRJessie579 posting something like that.

its like 144865 or something like that

they didn;t draw that many positions

the numbers represent coordinates...

I am not sure exactly how they work but the coordinates tell where the dots should end up

They didn't go and draw each one. They probably have a algorithem to determine the location of the spots.
And the parent spinda and the baby spinda will have different spots.

There are 4294967296 possible Spinda patterns: 2^32. I would expect that the game splits that up into four numbers, each from 0-255, and uses them to place each spot. Spinda's spot pattern comes from its Personality Value. The PV isn't inherited from either parent; it's totally random. One exception to this would be Everstone breeding, where the mod-25 of the PV is confined to that of the mother. This would have a negligible effect on its appearance, though.

I wansn't sure at first, but now, after reading everybody's posts, I agree that all spinda are different.

It's the exact same chance of being the same as any other Spinda out there. So, you'd have to go through a LOT of baby Spinda to get a matching one.
