Question about Latios and Latias

I just ran into Latias. I tried to weaken it but the damn thing fled. Will it appear again or should I turn off my gameboy (I didn't save after it fled). Also any tips about catching it would be much appreciated.

You must catch Latias and Latios after you defeat the Elite 4. It is at the Southern Island. Only choose one of them.

it will appear again (unless you fainted it) otherwise look in your dex to see where it is

You have to chose latios or latias in emerald and use a pokemon with mean look and block so it won't escape.

if you have plaayed c/s/c then you should know that they are like the legendary dogs. But, to catch them, if you need help, here is what I did. I went to the weather institute after an encounter with a lati and I went in the place then out and checked my dex. I did this about 7-20 times and he ended up on my route. When I encoutered him/her, I used mean look to keep it into play. It took me only about 7 ultra balls after weakening it. Hope this helps.

well, if you withdraw you pokemon while it is useing mean look it won't work cuz......... I guess cuz it won't be mean looking him/her I withdrew my pokemon while he was mean looking and it fled. It was pretty annoying.

I guess you could try using Wobbuffet.
Shadow Tag prevents the foe's escape.
Then just keep reflecting it's attacks.

Or, get a VERY high level Trapinch with Arena Trap.

that definetly work too. But if they faint (hopefully they wouldn't) they can't keep them there.

Once again... don't post if you don't know the answer cuz that is SOOO wrong.

Arena trap only works on non-flying/non-levitating pokemon
and guess what. Lati@s has levitate so please stop spreading that around.

To find lati@s again (as long as you din't KO it cuz once you do... you lost your chance): You look at your pokedex and it should list it's area.
It moves everytime you switch areas/towns/fly/reset your game.
What you need to do is to goto an area and save. Open your dex and check for lati@s' location. If it's in your area, go find it in the grass. If not reset and try again.

Wobuffet is a good choice, however it might accidentely KO Latias/Latios with mirror coat. Besides, it's so annoying just to wait and use mirror coat over and over... I'd suggest weakening down, my groudon used slash, then on the second encouter, shock wave (yes, I know, waste of a TM) I got latios down to a sliver of health.

Catch a Lv. 50 something golbat from ruby, or train one up to trap Latios/Latias. Latios/Latias's psychic attacks (especially Latias's) aren't strong enough to do some real damage yet. Keep throwing balls. The Master Ball really helps, because you can just throw it, but you probably used it on Rayquaza to beat the elite 4 fast in emerald (Am I Right?)

Latios/Latias can be most easily tracked if your at maulville city, they appear at 4 routes near there. Use fly if they're located in the ocean, they'll jump somewhere near. But, you'll have to guess if they'll go North, South, East, or West (Hopefully.)
