Question About Super Monkey Ball 2

Ok, so I'm playing Monkey Ball, and I'm doing a Monkey Race...and all those stupid other monkeys get that fast headstart at the beggining of the race

I've tried everything to get that boost, but nothing seems to work. So I ask:

Is it possible to get the boost at the beginning of the races in Super Monkey Ball 2


EDIT: Aggh...I just realized this is the wrong thread for this....if anyone can move this to the RIGHT place....AWESOME! Sorry about the screw up, I thought by "Other Video Game" it meant Non-Pokemon!
